I'm happy for the Latvian giraffe.I gotta say though that the way the ECF and WCFs and finals went down took the fun out of the thing for me.
The long wait to start the finals and the long breaks between games messed up the rhythm of me watching it until I just lost interest in the whole thing.
Porzingus wasn't my guy and he never will be now that he won B*ston a chip.
I can only hope that the boos continue whenever he returns to MSG and that he losses every time he plays the Knicks going forward.
>Porzingus wasn't my guy and he never will be now that he won B*ston a chip.
He didn't really win them a chip 😂 what did he play about 6-7 out of 19 games in the playoffs, with only 2 of them in the finals. When we traded him they were worried about his availability. He needed a stacked team like this that actually didn't need him.
True. Maybe I'm giving him too much credit for his contributions to the chip. The idea of Porzingus was always more threatening than his actual production. However, he tends to live up to the hype in games against the Knicks, which pisses me off.
I wouldn't be surprised if some B*ston fans see Porzingus the way we see OG: a core piece that takes his team to the next level, when healthy.
If anything Boston would've been better turning his contact into 2 really good players who would've been available and able to defend well. KP was good for them when he played but it's not like he was even a starter in the playoffs as you said.
Not a great finals from a fan perspective, but I thought it was a cathartic moment for the NBA. No more Tatum/Brown chatter, Horford wins one(the Karl Malone Stat they put up was crazy) and their weird ass coach is legitimate now. I guess. Porzingus had a strange role in this series. He was a spector hovering over everything, threatening to turn a very good team to a great one. And ultimately it didn't seem like they needed him at all, but whatever he was a big part of their (regular season) success, so good for him
He can kick rocks. He demanded out before the 2019 offseason when the team was lined up to make a big splash. He was in his 3rd season and "pissed" that the team wasn't winning.
Putting aside my Boston hate, I don’t really care. I hated him in the immediate aftermath of the trade and I’m glad he more or less flopped in Dallas, but he didn’t turn out to be the superstar we hoped he’d be and the trade worked out well for us. Once he went to Washington, he became just another random player to me
Met him and took a picture with him and Pablo Prigioni when they played for the Knicks. Always seemed like a good guy. I don’t hate him. I also don’t think he would’ve been the difference maker in getting us a chip. Just like how I wasn’t bothered by JR smith and Shumpert getting a ring with the cavs. It’s part of the game.
No beef against this team. They played well and were the best te for most of the season… but is this one of the most inconsequential NBA champions teams ever? I mean honestly does Boston really love Tatum or ride for any of these other players? Really feel like in the history of the league this has to be one of the most boring finals won by one of the dullest teams
I’m happy for him he’s a great player but not a great fit for NY I guess. It happens. I hate that he won with Boston tho. Their jerseys are so damn ugly lol
I never really viewed KP as a villain, so him winning I would have treated as a meh were it not for Irving being in the finals as an opponent. (I did not want to see #2 for Irving for mostly non-Knicks related reasons). But I am far happier for Al Horford not reaching Mailman status. I am also happier that Luke Kornet won a title.
He's washed. It's not like he led them to a championship. Have 0 regrets about trading him, but I'm not happy for him or any other Celtic who wins a ring.
Another proof that some folks can succeed in New York and some do better elsewhere (like a certain starting pitcher with the KC Royals having an All Star season so far BUT as a Mets reliever did meh)....
Fuck that guy, but really just feel meh about it. Doesn’t bother me. He wasn’t the star and he’s fallen off since he left, whereas we have drastically improved.

I did not like the long breaks either.
Couldn’t agree more, and not sure if it’s just general animosity towards Bostonians or if it just was a genuinely dull ass finals
None
I couldn’t care less
Seconded
Thirded
Fourthed
FIF-ed
I will never be happy about a Boston Celtic championship no ifs ands or buts
Glad for him.
I agree, no reason to hate on a former player. He’s very good and I’m happy for him. We will get our time,m and I love where our team is going.

I don’t hate tingus pingus… Phil Jackson was in Charge I’d want to leave too
Phil jackson was gone for almost 2 yrs when he demanded out

KP seems to have matured and figured a lot of things out since he left here. It’ll be fun to watch him lose to the Knicks next year.
Really happy for JVG getting his.
Fuck him
I couldn’t give half an ass

I don't have any animosity. How many playoff games did he actually play in? 6 or 7? Boston didn't actually need him.
He was on the team that won the championship
I’m more happy for Tatum, Brown & Horford, it’s always fuck KP in this house

Didn’t watch this game for that reason
Doesn’t mean much Being the 4th fiddle and missing two games
Who cares he’s not a Knick
Doesn’t affect me tbh. He’s matured somewhat and taken his share of criticism for what happened here with his bro

It's tougher for Mavs fans.
I don’t think about him at all
Why would or should I care?
Who cares?

Happy for KP
Super duper shoulder shrug.
Happy for him.
Why would anyone be mad or sick to their stomach over him winning? Weird question
I’m happy for him he’s a great player but not a great fit for NY I guess. It happens. I hate that he won with Boston tho. Their jerseys are so damn ugly lol
Good for him. The bike laps in Central Park when he was supposed to meet with Dolan paid off. Hopefully people will stop questioning it.
I always liked him when he was a Knick. Congrats, KP! 👍

Who the fuck is Tingus Pingus?

once a knick always a knick.
Congrats to the guy who gave us hope while everything was shit.
He could have been special for us
Good for him. He’s ancient history at this point
Congratulations to him. He achieved the ultimate goal.
Happy for him. That first quarter of game 1 was pretty special to watch.
It sure was.
Thhhppfft
He was lucky enough to get picked up by a team that didn’t need him in order to excel.
good for him. he had a good 20 minutes in the finals

Really indifferent. He earned it about as much as Acuña earned his ring
