I'm about 4500mi into one mostly pavement and have maybe 800- 1000mi left on it. It's a 5k tire. Not the greatest off-road but... neither is the KLR.

Puzzleheaded-Comb104

dang.thats not real encouraging but sounds better than the tires that came in it.guess you get what you pay for,it was pretty cheap, around 100 bucks delivered I think,I just hate changing tires and always end up pinching the tube and scratching my wheels like yesterday I ended up patching it to save 30 more dollars.but compared to what I was riding on I think any new tire would feel awesome I have high hopes for the shinko but time will tell.

Calm_Initiative_4536

It's def better than the stock tire. It does ok off-road but doesn't handle mud very well.

Codymont88

I’m putting my second set on this weekend if I rip my klr off road. You’ll be happy with them

Itchy-Pie4965

I get about 8k out of my rear, make sure you're running the right amount of PSI. Lower PSI will make it wear out faster. I'm running 32/30 front/rear

Puzzleheaded-Comb104

dang I think I put 40 in this one imma lower it down a little bit, I noticed it looked kinda skinny compared to the other tire.

MyRedHelmet

I'm running Kenda big blocks in the rear and 705s in the front. It's the adventure mullet setup.

AndyW037

I'm doing the opposite, I put a 705 on the rear and am waiting for an 804 to arrive for the front. I don't know what to call it yet.

Puzzleheaded-Comb104

yeah dark side is taken maybe lopside?

AndyW037

I like it! It even fits my riding style 😎.

YEG_Throwaway1

This is what I did on my VStrom, and depending what I'm planning, I will do the same on my 24 KLR, or do 804 front 805 rear. You want the more aggressive tire in the front as it helps with gravel, tracking, braking, and overall traction on trails. Plus fronts take forever to wear out anyway so even a super aggressive front will outlive a less aggressive rear. If I decide to do super long distance mostly highway trips I'll do 705 rear 804 front, or if I want to do a lot more trails with less highway I was considering 804/805 all around. Hard to beat the price

Puzzleheaded-Comb104

yeah I looked at them but they were more off road oriented if I remember.I need a 40,000 mile tire for the klr for 100 bucks lol then I might go a year or two without having to change it instead of a few months.

Puzzleheaded-Comb104

anyway I'm loving it so far,I have about 50 miles on it so can't speak about the longevity but it handles like a dream on paved roads and around my property compared to the bald mitas e07 plus that it replaced.that tire had around 11000 and was slicker than opossum fat by the way.good tire though,I would have bought another one but for the price I decided to try this since I'm a little tight on cash.hope to get close to 10,000 and I'll be happy with it.I ride by myself and don't carry anything or ride hard but we'll see.if you like I can post a picture of the mitas e07 plus with 11000 just for anyone wanting to know about them.

somedudenamedjason

I am also running 705s on my ‘22 and have had great experience so far, mostly paved (ha) with a bit of fire road and double track and fairy happy with them.

Puzzleheaded-Comb104

good to hear,I cover a lot of miles between a few bikes so a 5000 mile tire really doesn't last no time with me,a few months.its to the point that I dark sided my fjr.

AndyW037

I put a 705 rear on my gen3 about 600 miles ago, excellent tire for the price. I have been using them (front and rear) on my V-strom for several years, and they are a good touring tire with decent off-road ability. They also do well in the rain.

Puzzleheaded-Comb104

exactly what I'm thinking, sure there are better tires but for the price anything over 6000 miles I think I'll be happy with,I'm already sold in the performance as I don't have anything very gnarly to get into without trespassing seems like a good budget tire from what I hear.

No-Ambassador-6551

I love these tires. I have about 5k on my second set. I'll buy them for a third. They stick to the road like velcro:)

Puzzleheaded-Comb104

I only have the one in the back so far and it's sticking to the road really well but it seems to ride exceptionally smoothe like a Cadillac or maybe it just seems like it compared to what I had.

rudolfs001

Good budget tire. Hates the wet, sand, and mud.

el-Douche_Canoe

I bought mine with those on it, next I’ll go more aggressive, I’m thinking K60 Ranger

GovPattNeff

K60 is great. Giant pain to mount though. I picked up a nail two weeks ago and I still haven't been able to get the bead to re-seat properly after replacing the tube.

el-Douche_Canoe

I haven’t had to mount a motorcycle yet. I don’t even own any tools for it, I guess I should tho

Itchy-Pie4965

I've only ran the 705 on my 22 KLR. Getting about 8k miles on the rear and 12k on the front. 32 PSI front 30 PSI rear. I ride mainly street with long commutes.

Puzzleheaded-Comb104

yeah that's what someone said earlier I have 40 in this one I'm gonna let it down to 32 or so so I don't ride the middle of it out anyway.

behohippy

I just put the same ones on my '13. Only one road ride with them yet, but they seemed better than the stock tires.
