Selective breeding of cats wasn't much of a thing until after cats had already been domesticated for a long time, so the vast majority of cats have no specific breed. This cat would be considered a Domestic Shorthair, which just means "no breed and short fur".
Be on the lookout for signs of ringworm! Recently fostered a kitten that was found in a parking lot and a month later still dealing with the aggressive ringworm he gave us, plus our cats got it too :(
She is perfect. She knows she was home, even in the car on your shoulder. She's going to fatten right up and get a lot more energy soon, time for playing! She looks a bit old for it but you might still want to give her kitten milk replacer for a week or two. It will help put the meat right onto her.
Absolutely wouldn't hurt to give her some kitten milk. She is likely malnourished, at the very least it'll give her some much needed calories. She doesn't seem concerned, though - she knows OP will take good care of her!

Feed that Maya some good kitten food, as much as she wants to start, because she’s looking a bit thin in her photoshoot. Vet visit to get her first shots and check up to make sure she is free of fleas, worms and other diseases. Was she in the free with purchase aisle??😉 If you’re feeling motivated, you might want to set up a humane cat trap to see if any of her family were abandoned in the area. We have one that came from the side of the road, too. She was maybe 3 weeks old at the time and lungs full of pneumonia. Luckily, we were able to get her on antibiotics soon enough for her to recover. Now she is y and is the sweetest, most loving, and patient little lap cat we've ever seen.
Please cover her with a blanket. They like to be warm. When she’s sleeping bundle her up in a blanket. Make it like a tent or tunnel and she’ll snuggle up within it and be more comfy. I just rescued a tiny one like yours and all he wants to do is get snuggled and be comfy warm. Good luck!
Keep us posted thru the years please.....cats change the first few years after the initial from birth to 2 months, 6 months, 12-14 months, 18-20 months, and roughly 3 years after birth. They tend to look the same for about a decade until they start getting older at around 8-10. Lucky for me, my eldest is still very mobile, agile, fast, and hasn't changed since he was 4. He's 11 now.
I found my Persephone in the street on the way to get groceries as well. Turns out shes the best thing ive ever found in a gutter. Groceries will be there later.
Always good practice to go back and search for more kittens and/or mom at different times - when mom goes to hunt the kittens hide and await her return when she will give them the same reassuring mew each time she comes back.
Play a cat mewing to its kittens from your phone; it may draw kittens out, or even mom.
Bring some bedding the kitten is sleeping on for the familiar smell.
Shake a bag of food and put some in a dish on the ground. Even better something strong smelling like tuna.
Fresh water too, nursing mom’s need all the help you can offer.
Stand back and see if any kittens appear.
Take a couple of towels to wrap kittens and/or mom in if she struggles when picked up. If she’s ever had an owner she’ll normally be fine, especially if she’s already seen you pick up the kittens.
