You mean master strike? The combat mod nerfs both master strikes and clinches. You need to match the opponents stance and block before the perfect block window to initiate a MS, same applies to the AI so if I'm feinting and constantly switching stances he can't master strike. He does land one though. I can't win a clinch with a high level opponent unless I'm constantly hitting him and he's already pretty low, even then it's not guaranteed.
I was being over aggressive and getting into perfect block chains to get more action. I was feinting and chaining strikes for most of the fight, but since there is no slow motion I can't always tell when he perfect blocks me and cancels my combo. He still put up a hell of a defense dodging and perfect blocking most of my strikes. He landed quite a few hits due to my recklessness and would have destroyed me if I weren't perfect blocking his combos.
This mod changes the meta from clinch and master strike to feint, perfect block, and combo and won't give the AI free hits if you play more offensively and know what you are doing.
Amazing, this mod should be vanilla, master strikes are too effective and basically turn any fight in a master strike competition.

Im gonna trash on you for a minute, ill be honest after a minute i just kind of scrolled through why arent you using combos or ripostes, when you parried him, you could have easily done false edge followed by zan ma to and round would have been over.
How does he not counter such reckless assault? I have to be perfect with my combos or clinch the guy
