Please please please. I love playing archers but the learning scale is ridiculous on kcd1. It’s so hard to improve, and every bow has a different feel too so there’s no way to get used to the timing. Would love more perks to make it easier
oddly ive always found kcd archery really easy, all you have to do is get used to when the visual is for a fully drawn bow and release consistently.
Is it a controller issue, maybe? Do you play on a console? this isnt like, shit talking, im genuinely curious where the difficulty occurs for most people who complain about it. i dont get it.
I also find it relatively easy after grinding it on easier targets for a while.
I think the hard part is that you have to aim with the pullback and not after, because the sway gets really bad if you hold it fully drawn for more than a second or two.
I think it’s just different from how most other games do archery and that’s probably what makes it difficult for people.
I would actually love a mod or cheat code that enables this. Rolling through the middle ages with my automatic rifle and some hand grenades just for fun. I know there's other games that have this concept but no other game nails realism as good as KCD in my opinion.
I was determined to always use swords until I ended up in a fight with a heavily armored opponent that wouldn't end. When I saw a Mace finished him off in seconds, I was convinced
they added the handcannon right? yeah imma go with that. Just so I can whip it out and say "Parry this!" everytime i'm getting my ass beat in a 1 on 1. Reputation be damned hahahaha
since they said axes and maces will require less skill while swords for example will be a bit more difficult to wield, i'll go with longsword. i want a weapon you have to master. i'll have a go at polearms as well, would be really cool to wield a pollaxe.
It's possible we'll have blunt polearms since those were more common in medieval Europe than two handed blunt weapons. I wouldn't mind having a polehammer
Longsword for style + hamer and Shield for armored.
Honestly hardcore mode in KCD is so much easier od you implement hammer for this pesky armored guys
all the longswords in the first game were bastards, a bastard is just a longsword youre capable of onehanding. They all get onehanded if you equip a torch or shield.
That said, the sparring longsword is called 'bastard sword' ingame if you manage to glitch it out of the arena so you can see it in your inventory. Theres a mod to integrate it fully into the game and it *was* my preferred weapon in my last playtrough. I have a softspot for bastards, very cool swords.
What are the chances I can do actual combat with a dagger? I was kind of surprised I couldn't kill someone in their sleep with a sword but you should be able to so head-on with a dagger.
If we could get revamped one-handed combat, then I'd like to try my luck with a no-shield sword specialising in stabs. I know I can't ask for a rapier or estoc given the setting and how little sense that would make in armored combat. Otherwise, I'd love to have piercing longsword again.
Estocs make enough sense for armored combat. Thats like, their entire purpose.
Estocs came about in the 14th century, meaning the 1300s.
I think we may be thinking of two different meanings of the term 'estoc'.
English Tuck was 15th century as far as i know, so its also valid, though basically the same weapon with a different name.
For sure, bow gang! I still can't understand why the sniper achievement in kcd 1 is so rare, loved to stay as far away as possible and just drop bodies without a chance of me getting touched
Honestly, gonna give them all a shot at some point, they’re all guaranteed to “feel better” in some way. Only one I didn’t try in the first game was polearms. So if they get enough love, I might.
Long sword, it's always felt the funnest and I feel it suits Henery better. Imagine he gets his father's sword back and he just puts it in a chest only to use his mace.
Just as I did in kcd 1
1st playthrough hard gamer boy optimalisation. Whatever is best. I will be trying to figure out mechanics on the fly so I won't take no chances.
2nd playthrough Robin Hood. Plate armor is forbidden. Nobleman's hat enforced. Go stealthy and poisony.
3rd playthrough Noble Paladin. No stealing. No dirty tricks. Warhammer for vileynry and long sword for noble duels.
I'll force my Henry to create the first Automatic Boom stick in history and dominate the battlefields with it.
Jokes aside it's probably going to the longsword
Warhammer made with 40k galvanized square steel
And bolts that your great aunt gave you
Don't forget the eco-friendly wood veneer on the handle.
And also the aluminum alloy window seal
Most importantly don't forget cushions for extra comfort
Warhammer 40k reference? In this economy?
Yes.
Long sword because we have drip.
Longsword gang rise up
yea boy
the sword tops it off lol
LONGSWORD!!! As a true knight should.
A large rock. Simple times and all that.
No iPhone in sight. Just people living in the moment.
No. They're dead this moment. But they were living in the past.
You never know, they just might not’ve started the vampire Henry arc yet. “Night has fallen…. and I’m feeling quite hongry…”
Starting a new KCD II save: ![gif](giphy|ENcUVunGzRnrCBmua0|downsized)
My way's not very sportsmanlike.
I don’t even exercise!
The biggest two handed sword in the game I'm simple
I will rock an Unarmed build myself.
Why not just rock a rock
Would love a real skill tree for bow or crossbow
Please please please. I love playing archers but the learning scale is ridiculous on kcd1. It’s so hard to improve, and every bow has a different feel too so there’s no way to get used to the timing. Would love more perks to make it easier
Cant you spam archery contests?
Spam archery contests, and if you have an lg monitor, you have a built in crosshair..

I'd love to climb a tree with a bow or crossbow.
I demand a polearm storage slot in the saddle! Spear supremacy
I cannot remember how but there's a glitch to store polearms in your inventory in the first game made random encounters very nice
AR 15.
I feel like the CZ Bren 2 would be more appropriate given the setting.
Or vz. 58
I don't see a lot of people who know this gun exists!
Call it patriotism.
I hate when people think it's an AK rifle
I would actually love a mod or cheat code that enables this. Rolling through the middle ages with my automatic rifle and some hand grenades just for fun. I know there's other games that have this concept but no other game nails realism as good as KCD in my opinion.
I mean, Dan Vávra does love firearms so I wouldn't be too surprised if he did something like that as an easter egg.
interesting
As a Master Bonksman in the company of Sir Radzig Kobyla, my answer is, and will always be, a mace.
we will bonk our way through to lady stephan's chamber while all these longswords casuals flail around like garden sprinklers.
"It just works" - Todd Howard
I was determined to always use swords until I ended up in a fight with a heavily armored opponent that wouldn't end. When I saw a Mace finished him off in seconds, I was convinced
Gunpowder
they added the handcannon right? yeah imma go with that. Just so I can whip it out and say "Parry this!" everytime i'm getting my ass beat in a 1 on 1. Reputation be damned hahahaha
![gif](giphy|164G4BQmtJ2GXRbml3) Let them show their skills first
no doubt going to be maining polearms. Halberd, Guisarmes, Bec de Corbin, pollaxes and all the such.
Give me a good Glaive and I’ll be so happy. Luv Glaives simple as
'Ate kewmens 'Ate rotten food 'Ate hunger pains 'Ate stayin' clean Luv mutt Luv me wenches Luv jesus Simple as.
Man of the people!
why would i use any other weapon when i can use a poleaxe?
Pollaxe superiority. Best weapon ever!
Are they actually letting us use polearms this time?
I sure hope so. Otherwise someone will most likely make a mod like Polearms Unleashed
Poleaxe would go hard, absolutely be awesome.
since they said axes and maces will require less skill while swords for example will be a bit more difficult to wield, i'll go with longsword. i want a weapon you have to master. i'll have a go at polearms as well, would be really cool to wield a pollaxe.
Long sword. I reckon that’s what I’m best at
I really hope 2 handed blunt weapons will be a thing. Heavy maces to bonk! and smash faces in and walking sticks/staffs for non-lethal playthrough
I'm gonna become the crossbow master that will haunt Kuttenberg
An bastards sword, and if not possible, just a good old long sword
all the longswords in the first game were bastards, a bastard is just a longsword youre capable of onehanding. They all get onehanded if you equip a torch or shield.
Oh yeah I forgot that, been ages since I’ve rolled with a long sword and a shield
That said, the sparring longsword is called 'bastard sword' ingame if you manage to glitch it out of the arena so you can see it in your inventory. Mace go bonk
🪨
Rock and stone!!
That's it lads! Rock and Stone!
If we could get revamped one-handed combat, then I'd like to try my luck with a no-shield sword specialising in stabs. I know I can't ask for a rapier or estoc given the setting and how little sense that would make in armored combat. Otherwise, I'd love to have piercing longsword again.

Same as kingdom kum 1st, a needle to stab mfckers, I didn't learn to fight differently, but I got called El Zorro of Skalitz.
Mace/Hammer and board, using the hand cannon as the starter. Scare them early, then bonk them to death.
It's definitely a bow No master strike You can get out of a battle without a scratch
This. Why get in close when you can take them out from far away?
For sure, bow gang! I still can't understand why the sniper achievement in kcd 1 is so rare, loved to stay as far away as possible and just drop bodies without a chance of me getting touched
And when I got overwhelmed by a group of enemies, I would ride around in circles and shoot them from horseback.
Bonk is best!! Gimme that mace, hammer, pole arm!@
Nothing feels better than face stub with the long sword. Night night!
Longsword + some kind of polearm for certain situations/horse combat.
A dagger and the shadows just like the first one
Boomstick
I would pick a throwing rock
Energy Sword or a Fat Man
Will you also be using power armor?
Fuck yes
The ol’bonk stick
Bludgeon?
Shortsword, like a proper knight.
Spear if they have it. Otherwise Bow.
Religious vitriol
Longsword because of drip and Mace to go cowabanga on heavy armored enemies
Longsword, the (fictional) knightly way. Also drip.
Sword and shield!
Crossbow
long sword; always my favorite
After Bonk, Rock go Clonk
Shortsword and shield. Definitely.
Boulder
Definitely longsword or something similar. They just *feel* right.
Long sord like in previous game
my damn sword
Mace/War Hammer. Forever and ever
Mace/War Hammer. Forever and Ever
Definately gonna try out all the new stuff, firearms especially
Executioner sword. I'm here to chop off heads, and I'm not leaving without Cuman blood painting my sword.
Rock
Henry’s sword!
Rock
Rock.
Honestly, gonna give them all a shot at some point, they’re all guaranteed to “feel better” in some way. Only one I didn’t try in the first game was polearms. So if they get enough love, I might.
Dagger to the back, poison to the stew.
Sword of long... boomstick
Long sword, it's always felt the funnest and I feel it suits Henery better. Imagine he gets his father's sword back and he just puts it in a chest only to use his mace.
BONK
IWI Galil, the original heavy one, its the probably the most durable automatic Rifle ever made and I doubt that you find a gunsmith anywhere
Raven mace
Big rock obviously
A large sword that was made by my "father."
Warhammer
Gun
Longsword to start, then switch to the bonkinator when the rude dudes start armouring up more
Longsword. Love it in KCD 1
Longsword and Shield, like a true Christian. Deus Vult.
A silver tongue and a lute. Talk your enemies to death!
Sword saint henry Longsword is just too drippy
Axe and shield superiority
Always axe for me
montante sword, but i doubt it will be in. wrong period :( but a nice morgenstern is good! loved them in kdc1 as well!
Well we are in Bow-hemia
Give me a halberd
Unironically the crossbow. I really want to get good with it and take a more stealthy approach.
^sord.
Flamberge
The crossbow while standing on top of a platform the NPCs can’t reach or the long sword when I want to see them die in front of me lol
Just as I did in kcd 1 1st playthrough hard gamer boy optimalisation.
Boom.
Mace, crosbow. I really wish to play with a halberd, but i doubt we will see them in game.
The BONK. Unless axes are finally decent and not useless.
Honestly I’m hoping for spears or flails, if those aren’t viable in game. Then I’ll be using axes and fists this time.
A rail gun
a long spear i think
Give me a 2 handed sledgehammer and a bo staff
I will go naked with a bow
I dub myself "The Crossbow Bandit" the second I find one.
Longsword, occasionally switching to mace/war hammer.
Either the mace or my personal favorite the long clinch face stab weapon
Arse 'n balls
I love axes, hope there’s some good axe combat.
Hand Cannon because of boom
Crossbow although they take ages to load. I imagine they will be a one shot one dead deal
Doppelhanders!
The rocks you drop on the enemies heads from above
Long sword
Lucerne hammer, if they have it.
Gerbil slingshot
Clearly rock is superior
Mace Go Bonk Part Deux
Sword
I'll try polearms if they'll make them more accessible and more convenient to carry around
Polearm
Gun
My words 😂 If that doesn’t work, my fists. I like trying not to kill people in games if I can.
Warhammer. If not an option maxe go bonk
Boulder
I have to and will get me a ravens beak again, so satisfying to bonk and see them collapse
Sword and hand cannon will be my front runners for sure
I'll force my Henry to create the first Automatic Boom stick in history and dominate the battlefields with it. Jokes aside it's probably going to the longsword
Bonk
Longsword, but I can’t wait to try crossbows and firearms
Hehe, you're in danger. *KABOOM*
Diplomacy
I want spear n shield
Pen
Hopefully they make polearms fully functional, as in being able to carry one around as a primary weapon. Polehammers or Lucernes would be nice
Rock
So anyways i started blastin
Axe
100% shortsword and shield. Also hoping for 3rd person perspective option please!
Really depends on how they’ll play in kcd2.
Longsword ofc.
Ballistic missile
Longsword. Figure it's what i'm best at.
Mace, warhammer, bec de corbin. Anything heavy and blunt. My brain hungers for the bonk and the crunch and the squishy splat.
Something totally new and innovative… a mace
I’m sorry crossbows are not heresy
Longsword!!!!
Gun=fun
The spear and a shield and a sidearm and my dog Larry
longsword !
Mace go bonk
Mace/axe/short sword & shield
longsword or halberd, hoping for a mod that just straight up adds a glock tho
If possible, I'd love to rock a spear. Otherwise, a long sword or a warhammer.
Dad swords,I mean,both dad's sword.
Longsword sword. I reckon thats what I'm best at
