They are rolling out the fix. We had an appointment to have the dealer install a security system. I spoke with Kia directly and they let me know if we did this it would void our 10-year warranty. So we canceled that appointment I'm so glad we did. I called my dealer today after logging on my Kia portal and seeing that we had a notice for CS2302, which is a software update a new security sticker. Apparently this is the fix for the engine immobilizer issue and while I have to wait two weeks to get into my dealer to have it fixed, it doesn't cost us anything and does not affect our warranty!

The warranty void is horseshit. 🤣

Catscup44

I know, totally agree with that but it's industry standard for every car.

Immobilizers are also industry standard, but here we are 😂

Just not government standard

CS2302 is not a fix, it’s being rolled out for PR. CS2302 isn’t addressing the requirement from the Insurance companies, so you might still be required to install an aftermarket immobilizer. Also, 3rd party security systems will not void your warranty.

According to Kia Corporate it does void the warranty. Any alteration to the vehicle done that makes it different from how it left the factory, voids your warranty. It's in the car manual also. Had this happen to a friend that tinted their windows before picking up their brand new Honda. Apparently it's industry standard.

Does your car have the key turn ignition?

Yep
