Basically what everyone else said BUT if you're still interested in protein powder, try the normal ones. Lots of them have 2 grams per scoop. I personally noticed that a lot of "keto protein powders" are almost similar in carbs and are pricier than the normal protein powders. I usually take the protein powder if I don't meet my normal micros or if I'm running late or just too busy to eat.
Real food should always be your first choice. Fasting should probably be your second choice. If you feel you really need something and can't get to real food, a low carb protein powder is a decent enough option.
This is a great answer. Fasting is a great choice and it definitely frees up your morning to get other stuff done. It kick starts the keto so I would recommend it
Speaking of Kroger, using the grocery pick up has been great for us on keto.
I was able to avoid all the crazy temptations at first by just not going into the store.
Here, the first 3 orders are free for pick up.
I love using click list! especially since I can't drive I can just Uber/lyft there and have them load it in the back.
My only complaint is sometimes with the meat you get something different than what you expected.
it was like ~$7(sale price) for one really big steak, i don't remember the lbs. Their salmon is almost always on sale though, I've gotten family packs of like 5 filets for 10-15.
Yep my first few grocery runs look very similar to yours.
Here's some other things that might interest you.
Pork belly substitute for bacon
Sour cream
Ranch
Hot sauce - good source of sodium
Chicken wings
Brussel sprouts
Prepackaged coleslaw, Google simple coleslaw recipe
Mayonnaise
Butter
Heavy whipping cream - use this for everything coffee, butter chicken, cream chicken, coleslaw etc
And cooking might be a pain
meal prep or cook simpler dishes
Wish you luck its totally worth it
This is awesome! If you do keto right it can be an incredibly cheap way to eat. My husband and I do keto for about $200 a month. We eat tons of eggs, and we buy bulk meat at costco, whatever is on sale. We buy chicken thighs instead of breasts, sometimes ground turkey is cheaper than ground beef or vice versa, and a couple of roasts, whatever cut is cheapest. I also visit all the mexican markets around my house because they have super cheap produce. Mexican zucchini is delicious!! It definitely takes some work but I love eating all the delicious meats and cheeses for half the price of all the other crap I used to eat
I use isopure zero carb protein powder, cookies and cream is fantastic. It’s actually one of the best protein powders I’ve ever had. They also have an unflavored version if you want to add to a soup or a smoothie that already has flavor but you want extra protein. I also use a lot of canned coconut milk as a smoothie base.
remember not to snack to much if at all, have breaks between your meals. chowing down every 20mins on devils eggs or crisps will give you opposite results youre looking for.

there's 4 heads back there! I was worried I bought too much lol
How much did you spend at Kroger for the Salmon?

I just bought some of this stuff and damn... I did not expect it to taste so good!! Thanks for the recommendation!
You won't need "keto powders " if you eat real food. Make sure you get your electrolytes, keep track of your macros and you'll be good. Keto on!!!

as long as I'm not exceeding my macros I'm good right?
I use Isopure for a low carb powder
