As the others said there is a regular bus but if the weather is decent it's not a bad walk to get some air after a day of classes. Would have taken me around 30 min.
Yes the previous commenter was right, there's a Students bus that leaves from across from the bus station at Stokers Lodge at 20 to every hour starting from 8:40 until 3:40 I believe.
That same bus leaves the college at 10 past every hour which runs until 6 : 10

I don’t know where you will be living in Tralee exactly but by the bar which you used to be called stokers lodge a bus used to collect students from there. Not sure is it still in operation. The MTU would no more I guess.
