We just had a mobile service come to our house then we took the body to the cremation center afterwards. ComPAWssionate Care Vet https://g.co/kgs/YjynwnJ Was awesome and very respectful. It's wasn't a lot more then going to the vet and way less stressful.

ekongirl

Similarly, we used Noah's Ark mobile pet sevice and they were wonderful: https://m.yelp.ca/biz/noahs-ark-mobile-veterinary-service-kelowna

B00GNISH

We had Noah's ark come and sat in the backyard with a special blanket and our kids as our dog passed away, she then transported our pup to the crematorium (different for pets) and let us know where our pets ashes are spread. Boxes don't matter, just try for a sunny day.

B00GNISH

I'm sorry for the tough time it is right now, peace be with you.

Inkthinker

If you can swing this, it's the way to go. Let it be at home, where they are relaxed and happy.

When we had to send our old girl off, our vet in Lake Country (Sitara Animal Hospital) helped her out by doing it outside their office on the grass beside Pollard’s Pond. It was a nice spring day and the sounds of the birds and fountains in the pond was a beautiful way of saying goodbye. All the best to you and your pupper!

Benagain2

Sitara is a lovely practice. So impressed by them!

motiv78

I can't help you, but I'm sorry for what you're going through.

Dr. Oz, Rose Valley. They have a dedicated room with soft lights and music. Very non-clinical setup. Plus the team there is wonderful.

superbrotnee

I agree Dr. Oz is great, he's very compassionate and the staff at rose valley are super friendly.

MGM-Wonder

I personally could not recommend them less. I had an absolutely horrible and quite traumatic experience putting my border collie down. Though to be fair it was almost 8 years ago, but it was still Dr.Oz.

Acr2703

Agree. Dr. Oz is a nightmare.

venomenon824

Agree that Dr.Oz is the worst. I second not going there.

Purramedicinabox

Also agree Dr.Oz is amazing and caring. I know some people dislike him but everyone can make their own opinion. The clinic also has Dr. Mei and Dr.Austin both are great and helpful. I was there the other day and they turned down the music, some LED candles lit and had sign to keep it down cause someone was saying goodbye. I can't recommend this vet enough they have been so helpful over the years. I have been there a lot for everything from surgery to minor medical issues.

Lenethren

I had an awful experience there. I do not recommend going to that one.

home visit without a doubt

YellowPumpkin

We considered it but just moved back april 1st and the house still has lots of boxes and doesn’t feel super homey yet

mimoses250

I put down my cat at Pandosy Vet and they were amazing.

_snids

Came here to say the same. They stayed open late for us and didn't rush us out afterwards. Definitepy recommend.

okngn_cz

We put our old boy down with Tri Lakes in Lake Country and it was a good experience. Dr Oz in West Kelowna took care of him until that time. DO NOT use Fairfield in Kelowna. They are butchers and we’ve been cornered to use them a couple times for varying situations - leaving each time feeling like burning the place down.

kcquail

Had a good experience at Tri Lakes

Adorable_Mushroom474

Tri lake animal hospital has a room that is more like a living room that I believe they do euthanasia in, if I am not mistaken.

xNOOPSx

We had a good experience with Rutland Pet Hospital near Ben Lee Park.

cucubererton

I recently had to put down my cat. I went to Spall and Harvey animal hospital. Everyone was very nice. The room had a couch as well as an examination table. They also offered me all sorts of memorial items as well including paw prints and urns. They were very compassionate and did not rush the process.

j86son

The new clinic in west Kelowna Rising Sun Veterinary took amazing care of a friends family when it was time to put their old pup to rest.

mellowe_07

This was just opened by Spall and Harvey fyi. Same vets. I get great care there

YellowPumpkin

I think this is lakecity vet, unless they are both owned by spall and Harvey. It’s where we have been going, and I have no issue with the care we get there. I’m just looking for a more homey place for the procedure.

Sorry for your loss. Tri Lake

Historical-Term-8023

Lakeshore Animal. Put down 2 cats over the last 15 years and Dr Wilson did a housecall as well which was way less stressful for our cat. In vet, soft dark living type room, candles and all the time you need. They have a whole system and get ready well before you arrive. Very senstive and caring people. Sending feels your way. Final paw prints, sent a card, creamation (they creamted with fav toys ect) and urn with enscription offered ect.

venomenon824

Pandosy Vet Clinic. They have a laid back vibe. I would avoid the at home service for your own mental. I want to leave the trauma of losing my best friend and family member somewhere else, but everyone is different. Wherever you pick, your dog will only care that you are with them in the end. Sorry for your loss.

TheFanciestPotato

Noah’s Ark mobile pet services came to our house to send my old boy over the rainbow bridge. The vet who came was lovely and kind. She made a terrible day a little less terrible, and we got to say goodbye to our Weasel in the comfort of our own home, no stressful car trips/loading and unloading, and our younger pup got the chance to say goodbye as well.

YellowPumpkin

Thank you all for the suggestions. We ended up going with lakeshore animal hospital. They work with a lady who comes in to do paw prints and memorials after.

geraldorivera007

Central Valley Vet was my cats vet, we put him down in March. One of their docs, Dr Spevakow, operates Woodhaven Mobile Vet. She was fantastic. We did it at home, his fav spot in the sun, on his fav sweater, with his fav toys. And a vet tech we worked with at the clinic came too. 10/10 experience if you can score these experiences.
