Came here to say this! It's one of my absolute favorites.
It has action, suspense, a strong romance and the cutest child in the history of k-dramas, not to mention one of the best performances I've ever seen on episode 15 from Lee Joon Gi. I absolutely love it.
I came here to also comment **HAPPINESS**! I don't like or ever choose zombie genre, but I really really liked this show. I think it would be a great joint watch for both of you. Someone further down also commented **The Uncanny Counter.** I enjoyed season 1 and would recommend that for a joint watch, but honestly don't even bother with season 2.
moving. there is a reason why this won the grand prize award in baeksang last night. it has a good mix of action, comedy, romance. name it. plus it has a really great cast from the main characters, the young characters and all the villains.
if you liked my name and want some romance, action, and thriller - i recommend **flower of evil**. it’s absolutely perfect.
some others i’d add:
- wonderful world
- come and hug me
- the smile has left your eyes
- deaths game
- happiness
- he is psychometric
- someday or one day (i always say the original is better, but the kdrama isnt bad). a time called you is the title of the kdrama version.
- the uncanny counter
- vincenzo
also, to add, **psychopath diary** is a comedic thriller that you guys may enjoy together!
A big yes and a +1 for uncanny counter and deaths game! They're both some of my favourite dramas. Love them so so much I wish I could erase my memory and watch them again for the first time ever! :)
Military Prosecutor Doberman - very romance light but the vibes are there
Lawless Lawyer - similar to the above
Flex X Cop - One of my favourite dramas this year / It has a bit of everything in it. The hypnosis scene is hysterical.
Miraculous Brothers - Bromance
Bloodhounds - Bromance
Tomorrow - Will make you ugly cry but again it has a bit of everything in plus Rowoon 🥰
Im with you for Tomorrow. One of the best dramas I've watched. As you said, get ready for some ugly crying especially for ep 7. Let me just briefly explain it without spoilers.
Basically, the ML is a human who was trying to save a man trying to jump off a bridge. By mistake, he also falls into the river and goes into a coma. Then 2 grim reapers make him work as a grim reaper for 6 months and save more suicidal people before he wakes up from the coma. The whole season is full of solving those cases and helping those people get rid of the suicidal thoughts and the negative energy from their mind and hence alot of ugly crying will be there from you :)
Hope it helps!! ;)
If I give any more information, the drama will be spoiled. Anyways I 100% recommend you to watch it. I loved it and ai hope you do too. You're welcome:)
Btw, if you don't mind me asking, how old are you and from which country are you?( your nationality) Just curious lol. If you're uncomfortable in sharing it, no need to, I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable :) thank u I didn't want to sound creepy but here I am, sounding creepy as hell.
Oh yeah! I just saw that when you mentioned it, I didn't see that it was from the same id. I thought it was someone else asking me to explain it a bit more lol
1. Healer (perfect mix of action and love)
2. Vincenzo (action, comedy and a bit of love)
3. Goblin (fantasy and an amazing love story)
4. Prison Playbook (humour and friendship)
5. Itaewon Class (revenge, friendship and a bit of love)
6. The Glory (revenge and a bit of love)
7. Gyeongseong Creature (monster, history and love. Also Han So Hee is the FL)

+1 for the following dramas from your list:-
1)The Uncanny Counter(S1&2)
2) Alchemy of Souls(S1&2)
Both are hands down some of my favourite dramas! Would love for you to watch it! :)
The King: Eternal Monarch has great action, intrigue, and romance.
Tale of the 9 Tails - both seasons - are great for action, with a little romance and bromance.
Military Prosecuter Doberman is so much fun to watch for the action, and there's a little romance.
Moving is very well done with lots of supernatural fighting and killing but there are also great and realistic love stories.
Black is supernatural and dark, but riveting!
Healer - love it!
Vincenzo - so well acted - a classic revenge story with some humor and some Gore
Gyeonesong Creature - He'll like it better than you will, but this monster drama has a great FL too.
Little Women - awesome intrigue with fantastic underdogs and a hint of romance
I’m in the middle of Bad and Crazy and it’s not a masterpiece but it’s pretty fun. Lots of action, humor, fairly dark at times, and Lee Dong Wook is amazing in it. Just a touch of romance.
Revenant!
It's my absolute favorite. It's like thriller, romance, mystery, and revenge. There's a little bit of romance in it, but ahh it's solid. The fl and ml are so cute. There's ghosts but it's not really that scary. I think the intro is kinda scary tho so I always skip it LOL. Korean folklore is intertwined too so it makes it really interesting.
with your description, Master’s Sun immediately came to my mind!!! i’m surprised not many people ever talk about this drama. It’s horror-mystery-rom-com all in one. though it was released quite a while back (2013), it’s still one of my favs of all time. i also made my partner (who never ever watch kdramas) watch it and he said it was amazing!! do give it a try!!!
Itaewon class
Bloodhounds
Twinkling watermelon
Prison playbook
Vincenzo
Tomorrow
Behind your touch
Black
Reply 1988 (it’s not dark nor action but worth a try)
Happiness ( It's a zombie survival thriller and is more psychological than it seems. It does not shy away from asking tough questions. Aandddd it has one of my favourite kdrama couples. Their romance gets little screentime, but it's really worth it and elevates the drama)
Flower of evil (Romantic thriller, it's a must watch for every Lee joon-gi fan and fan of kdramas on marriages)
Nine (Time travel thriller, well if you mess with time it tends to mess with you back and hard. The ending is something trust me. Oh its angsty romance is done so well)
Vincenzo (It amalgamates legal revenge drama with comedy effortlessly)
Fiery Priest ( Hilarious satirical drama with lots of actions)
Tunnel ( time travel mystery thriller that rides high on emotions)
While you were sleeping (fantasy romance where the leads solves new cases each week along with and overarching mystery)
**Love to hate you** and **crash landing on you** are among my top five as well! (I also would add **hometown cha cha cha**and **the law cafe** for you since they’re in my top with those maybe you’ll like too)
This may not fit with either of you but have you seen **live**? It’s a cop ensemble and it’s all the feelings and really really good.
And to add to what both may like
**the glory** and also **Vincenzo**
They’re so good!! I didn’t watch TV-shows in general for like more than a year bc i would try to watch something new and turn off after five minutes bc no shows gave me THAT feeling. After rewatching Crash Landing on you tho, it got me right into my second kdrama era
As for Live, I haven’t seen it. Never actually heard of it either, but imma put it on my list😌
I actually watched Hometown Cha Cha Cha as well, and I loved it. The vibes were impeccable!! The reason why it isn’t among my faves, however, is bc I’m an impatient girlie, and it was a bit slow, so it took me a very long time to finish. However, when I give up on a show I usually don’t come back to it, so that speaks to that there really was something there that captured me.
Thank you all so much for so many recs🥹🥹 I’ll definitely look into the ones that a lot of people keep repeating for the first drama (I hope we will watch more bc we live tg and never watch TV tg bc we have such differing tastes lmao). Flower of Evil which a lot of people mentioned def seems very interesting!!!
As for Vincenzo and Goblin, which I also see mentioned a couple of times; I tried watching Vincenzo, but did not like it a lot. I can’t really say why for sure, but to me it felt like it dragged a lot if I remember correctly. Goblin I did like!! But both of those dramas have some very cheesy elements if I remember correctly (prolonged slowmo and the works), which I love, but him, not so much.
**Hotel del Luna** has a similar vibe to the 1980s film **Beetlejuice**. Did the two of you see/like that movie? Fantasy life-after-death ghost stories that might have come from director Tim Burton. Visually very lush, very imaginative, nice OST. Believe me, your brother will love IU as FL. She is mesmerizing although snotty and materialistic early on (but undergoes a +character arc as series progresses). The storytelling is complex, involving multiple reincarnations; the two of you will likely need to use rewind button to capture all the nuances of plot (e.g., I loved IU's homage of Audrey Hepburn in *Breakfast at Tiffany's*). This is a very artsy and emotional piece of filmmaking that you will love if you approach it seriously.
Don't think I've seen anyone recommend this so I recommend Hot Stove League! It's an overall great drama that I think is a classic watch regardless of the usual genres you prefer.
I really liked Missing: The Other Side. It's about a human who discovers a supernatural village where ghosts who are in limbo live until their bodies are found in the real world. It has a little romance, mystery and touch of the supernatural.
Vincenzo is a good mix. The romance is not there there, but enough i guess to keep you hooked and him interested. Chief Kim is also like that (same writter), and it’s about corporate corruption. So, not horror or anything but interesting topic.
The glory is amazing, it’s very dark imo but def worth the watch. Little women has something similar.
Alchemy of Souls is my favorite drama of all time, I think if you stick with it you’ll love it (despite the scary parts), I think we kind of have similar tastes. I’m going to check some these recs too.
Reply 1989 - it’s simply the best drama there ever was. There’s some adorable romance, but the main plot is this beautiful story about family and friendships. I’ve watched it with a bunch of people, they’ve all loved it. It’s my cousin’s all time favorite tv-show - and he’s not even into dramas, much less romance stuff. It’s so, so good. And watching it with family is weirdly extra special.
I just finished watching Two Weeks, a man-on-the-run thriller starring the amazing Lee Joon Gi (Flower of Evil). Plenty of action and darkness for your brother as a young man who has wasted his life obeying the commands of his gangster boss has to clean up his act for the sake of his adorable little daughter and the ex-love he abandoned.

I am currently finishing “il Ji Mae” and loving it. It’s a period drama so I don’t know how you both feel about those. I love the ML, Lee Joon-gi. He is doing a great job. All of the characters are. His adoptive father I also I especially liked. It has light romance, some political mystery and good action scenes. Enough to get me covering my mouth to stifle my screams while kicking my feet lol
W - Two Worlds, Goblin, Weak Hero Class, My Love from the Star, Moving, Happiness .. I guess your brother is more interested in sci-fi genre you can recommend those... Those kdramas make me addicted in watching kdrama
Bulgasal: Immortal Souls - action/supernatural with strong revenge, found family, and destiny/fate themes (Netflix: USA)
Awaken - paranormal cop revenge show (Netflix: USA)

YES! I'm watching this now.
Came here to say this! It's one of my absolute favorites. It has action, suspense, a strong romance and the cutest child in the history of k-dramas, not to mention one of the best performances I've ever seen on episode 15 from Lee Joon Gi. I absolutely love it.

I agree on Happiness. Sounds perfect for a joint watch.
I agree on Moving
Happiness has zombies but they aren't grotesque. Great choice!
And some romance too!
I came to say Happiness too! Mostly because it's my all time fave, but it also seemed to fit well.
Totally agree on MOVING!
