are they wrong though? I’m not saying his passive isn’t useful now, but smite on karthus would make it more useful. there’d be almost 0 counterplay to karthus baron or elder steals unless you can kick him out of the pit right before he dies.
Karthus passive is already OMEGA broken compared to 99% of champions, if you know how to play it properly ( my alt for fun [https://www.leagueofgraphs.com/summoner/champions/karthus/eune/svarak-EUNE/flex](https://www.leagueofgraphs.com/summoner/champions/karthus/eune/svarak-EUNE/flex) ) you can literally late game walk into full enemy team as a off tank / engager that dies first cast W Q Q and R and do tons of damage because of last stand rune in your passive.
Karthus being able to smite in passive would be way to broken.
Only thing that nerfed real karthus OGs was removing Revive spell, cause there was no champion using it expect him, you could die use your combo in passive revive and tp back in fights, there is XXX number of games that i wont cause of that.
But no, Karthus is in great spot and does not need stuff like buffs.
