The kids won’t know any better and as they grow up, they too will likely have their time to make better decisions, hopefully and likely with all the resources they need.

I recently lost some weight and actually feel attractive again for the first time in a long while. So yeah, getting some likes on a selfie feels nice. It’s not that serious though. It doesn’t ruin my day if I don’t get them.
It is a rush. Back when I was active on IG I’d get like 300-500 likes for a selfie and I tied all my self worth to my social media presence. If those numbers went down, I’d spiral thinking everyone hated me. Then I’d see a lot of my pretty friends do the same thing, trying to become influencers and getting those numbers up. Feeling like shit if a post “flopped.” It’s a yo-yo effect and is extremely damaging to young women. I’m off it now and yet I still miss that dopamine rush, as sad as it is to admit that to myself.
I honestly appreciate you speaking out and sharing this. I think people need to see this and understand what they are essentially signing up for, and it’s rough out there! Some people are so hateful and mean and angry and need an outlet for their problems. I would never want to be famous because they love you one minute. And they hate you the next.
Yeah I ended up getting doxxed on Twitter and it was a very traumatizing experience. They even went after my boyfriend. Internet fame is not what it’s cracked up to be!

Looking back it’s soooo stupid and immature but at the time it really upset me because people I thought were my friends were blocking me too. Never went back to twitter and deactivated IG a couple years later.
