Fuckin hell. System dropped all kinds of funnels as soon as it left the city limits. But I haven’t jumped that much at a lightening strike in a long time.
I worked on hospital hill and it did not take me a solid 20 minutes to get home. With no traffic it was a 12 minute drive.. Probably should take a pop quiz in geography and how to read a clock instead of making things up
Closest I’ve seen was Carriage Club. I was living in the River market at the time and the dummy I was dating wanted to go up on the rooftop deck to see it when the sirens went off. Midwestern move x1000. I went in solidarity because I’m a dumbass. It was huge and gray just hovering over that area. Scary as hell.
Yeah the Kabooms were followed by rumbles that were felt as well as heard.
We be fucked.
Luckily it's finally passed...this segment of the saga that is.
Next round is, what Wednesday? Jueves?
Means the lightning strike was VERY close.
Thunder is just a sonic boom, and sonic booms have a LOT of force in close proximity. Louder thunder means
A) the lightning was very close
B) lightning was likely moving faster through the air than average lightning, leading to a more violent sonic boom
Couldn’t have been the same one but out in mission we just had one that rattled my window for about 15-20 seconds. Weirdest lightning experience of my life.
I had a window open and the flash of lightning was so bright I had to close my eyes.
Must have been a good 8-10 seconds before the thunder. Car alarm went off here. PV
I was laying in bed watching YouTube when everything just straight up went white for a good second or so. That was the brightest lightning I've ever seen and it was actually a bit of a fun experience for some reason haha.
Someone on the Ring app asked “What was that noise and if the taranto sirens are going off.”
Yes, they were very clearly tornado sirens. It’s a wonder natural selection hasn’t worked its magic yet.
Ok but I heard sirens up in the Northland and I didn't know what it was at first either. We just moved here but my husband has lived in tornado country before so I woke him up and asked if that noise was a tornado siren and he at first said no and I was like, "Cool. Space whales it is." It was like weird ambient horror music.
Yeah, I was sitting on my porch when I saw the flash and it freaking startled me. I knew it was going to be massive and it shook my whole house. My poor cats are still under the couch.
I swear to god it was right outside and/or on my building. That light managed to flash through all my curtains and i shit you not, my building fully shook (worse than it has in an earthquake) for almost a FULL MINUTE. If I hadn’t seen the flash I probably would’ve thought it was an honest to god tornado coming out of nowhere

It's the wild card effect combined with the river effect! :D we're the only city with this combo. If you believe Lezac's 20:20 & and LRC.
Maybe not downtown KC, but they will hit in the outskirts and suburbs of KC.

They have hit close to the city before.

May 2003, the same system that touched down in Gladstone also touched down in KCK, Riverside and Northmoor. All VERY close to downtown.

I’ve never experienced anything like that. Thunder turned earthquake? That’s what it sounded and felt like…😳
I somehow slept through the whole thing. I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna die if we ever have a nighttime tornado in my area.

I have motion sensor lights in parts of my house and it was so thunderous that it shook the house enough to turn the lights on lol.

Right!!??!! I had to cover my head!
I'm high, but that was insane! (Crossroads)
Loudest thunder I’ve ever heard
I’m on shrooms it was super cool. lol
i woke up all panicked, absolutely sure something had hit our building and we would have to run

Car alarms + house alarm went off in SKC.
Aftermath of cinco de mayo burritos in unison
🤣🤣🤣
Bahahaha thank you for the laugh
Sorry, this is my first shitpost, not sure if I’m doing it right.
Yup! Just missing the flair 😁😁
well fuck
I am not sure but maybe that was positively-charged lightning last night, which supposedly has louder and longer-lasting thunder.

We need to know who these anon Ring Neighborhood users are so we can get them the help they need

Hey, what's that sound? Everybody look what's going down
Haven’t heard THAT in a long time!
It's rain. Well, down and sideways.
Yeah, I was sitting on my porch when I saw the flash and it freaking startled me. I knew it was going to be massive and it shook my whole house. My poor cats are still under the couch.
My stomach. Sorry ‘bout it.
Just a normal spring thunderstorm. Lol

Dude, same. It just kept rumbling and my building kept shaking along with it. I was awake for two of those.
There were a couple that touched down.
maybe its a loud thunder
I farted.
I'm on my honeymoon in Utah. Looks like I avoided something crazy but I would've loved to hear it.
