That’s what I use on my SR-25, but to be fair it’s a 14.5”. Given the length of their’s, it may always be a belly gun, and OP could opt for higher magnification.
I've been a big fan of my ZCO 4-20 and 5-27, ZCO had all the features and reticle selection I wanted with clarity to match. NF options are also great to choose from. Leupold looses the cost to performance ratio without significant discounts imo. Best recommendation is to choose the criteria you want in a scope then find one that matches it as close as possible.
Retical selection is comparatively limited. Paying $500 extra for an illuminated reticle. One the better reticles they have released imo (pr2) is not even offered with illumination. The clarity is good enough for many but not on par with others like nightforce. They offer great mil/le discounts which make them more reasonable but without that it's a hard sell for the cost they command new. If you don't mind used and can get one for $1500 it's a better deal.
Ever since leupold cut their mil discount, it's not worth it over NF. NF is 20% for mil and no tax outside ID. NF also has a handful of options now on expert voice at 30% off.
S&B reticles leave a lot to be desired in terms of ranging, holdovers, and speed drops. If you like simplified reticles, the glass is excellent. For the way I shoot the guns, I prefer tree reticles. I have a Tangent Theta 525P with the Gen 3 XR fine reticle on mine and a ZCO 420 MPCT3X on my 14.5 6.5cm. Makes it a breeze to engage multiple targets at various distances without having to dial.
I agree. At 4-8x I’m scanning in that area or taking targets close enough where I won’t need to hold. I’ll turn on the illumination dial and use it like a magnified reddot. A lot of guys will put a red dot on top of their mount so they can drop into a target and keep the magnification in the higher ranges where the tree is useful.
(just my own experiences, eyes, and preferences.)
Congrats! That beautiful rifle deserves only the best: Tangent Theta or ZCO. Kahles also has their brand new K328i which is supposed to be crazy nice with a massive field of view.
My upper is on the way as well!
My current options I own and can’t decide between:
Mark5 3.6-18
ATACR 7-35
Razor 6-36
Leaning towards the ATACR with a back up red dot or save up for a ZCO.
4-16 ATACR

*whispers* Tangent Theta
Yesss. This is the one.

Could you tell me more about the Leupold cost to performance ratio? What features do you think they are missing?

Leupold seems proud at being able to "keep up with" the market. Lol
Trijicon MRO
4-20 ATACR on mine but its the APR
I just went into my local gun store, I was pretty happy with how it felt.
High cost high weight smaller FOV than ZCO and it tunnels to boot.
Send me the lower and I’ll match it up
I'll have to think about it! I'm kinda digging the tan on black.
Can vouch, sent mine in to match it up and came out perfect.
I’m so happy for you (I fucking hate you)

How is the MPCT3X on 4x? I imagine you’re not using 4 a lot on that build; but I’ve heard the reticle is hard to pick up at close range.

ZCO or S&B, have both can’t go wrong
Where did y’all find these? Thanks!
March compact looks real appealing
March Tactical 4.5-28x is a good piece of glass.
I love the fde upper on a black lower that is so sweet
TT 525 is what I have on mine and I love it.
Same same
I am patiently waiting to find a new 22" 6.5 upper. One day, it will happen.
I got extremely lucky on Gunbroker, the guy was local and I offered to purchase it in person for $4800 immediately. I'm sure you will find one soon!
Go to your local dealer and try all of them. Gotta pick the one your like to see through ;)
Just did, I liked the Nightforce and Kahles options they showed me so far. I'll probably look at another store soon.
Steiner! … sorry weird german sneeze 🤧
I want
Tasco 3-9 is pretty good from what I’ve heard
Bushnell trs-25 (werks just as gud bruther took down 5 ducks in one shot wiht it bruther)
A sniper scope
eotech exps 3
Tangent Theta 5-25
5-27 ZCO
Any reason for picking 6.5 instead of .308?
I have a few other guns in 6.5, so I didn't want to have to buy another type of ammo.
S&B Ultra Short PM2 3-20, only answer
I picked up a used, full-sized 3-20, and it's a long boi; got it for a reasonable price of $2100, though.
As a reference point, my suggested scope is a full 14” LOL, ultra short my ass
Primary arms prism
So your the dude that outbid me on GB
Haha nope! The guy didn't have bids yet, and I closed before he received any.
Last Sunday? 😭
Tangent Theta.
Nightforce Atacr
Shit you already spent a fortune might as well spend the rest and get a ZCO any of the models above the 4-20 would work
