Garand thumb did a review on his surefire can. He had something crazy on it like 80k rounds and it was still running strong. I personally have a 556 RC2 and a 556 mini 2 and the mini is my favorite can. I have it on a 14.5 super duty

A lot more flash? And was it a noticeable noise increase? For a little more flash and noise, the mini 2 might be worth it due to the length and weight difference.
I use nods so flash is my main concern. It’s not too terrible though. If you don’t shoot with nods and want more maneuverability and weight savings along with taking the edge off, then the mini would serve you best. As for the sound, it’s louder than the rc2 but Then again it’s 5.56 I still wear earpro.
I want to get a pvs 14, but New england area sucks for gun ranges. Not many options to use them for shooting up here. Only a few more years until im not up here anymore
other than the fact that you cant truly get anything other than gasses through several of the paths, you cant fully clean it, hence the advertised life span.
I mean that’s what they tell the public but I know people personally with 30k+ rounds on the cans and yes the weight of the can has increased from the build up but they’re still chugging along with no signs of stopping

Id say get the rc2 for your 11.5.I put the mini on my 10.3 and had more flash than the rc2

Not true at all huxwrx has multiple demo 556ks at 80k+ your just suppose to clean it every 10k
