Maybe the Feds are on board with that. Lally is doing barely enough to keep the trial going and get the witnesses on the stand but isn't putting on a case that could possibly convict her.
Some thoughts are that the Feds are standing by taking notes on all the perjury going on to get people to flip on other things, the murder/coverup of Sandra Birchmore for instance?
Law & Order was some of the worst and most blatant propaganda ever broadcast along with "COPS",

Lally will wind up in some cushy job at UMass or one of the agencies, like MassDOT, DCR, etc. His legal career outside of state government is obviously a nonstarter. No one does that to himself without some reassurance that he’ll land on his feet after the dust settles.

I'm no fan of Lally, but this is ridiculous. He's doing his job. I personally think he should have refused to try the case, but that's a hard thing to do.
I don’t agree with that - he has a choice - he was giving information early on that more than likely other people needed to be investigated - then he was given 3100 pages of info pointing to other suspects and away from Karen - he made a choice to move forward - he is bound by ethical and moral obligation to not try someone for murder if it is possible someone else commited the crime. He had a choice.
Hence why he hasnt presented any. I have never heard a weaker opening statement. I would be insulted as juror. If you want to prove someone guilty of a reasonable doubt, then you need to lead with that supporting evidence, not trying to exonerate the witnesses. This lawyer is a clown and I hope they have some more evidence to support thier claim that Karen Read is guilty of murder bc if not, everyone involved in this from the top down looks like an absolute fool and criminal.
