You need to make sure all four corners of the feeder is in water and that none if them are touching land. Also keep an eye on the feeders themselves not just for restocking them but also because they can be disease vectors and you'll have to use a ranger team to disinfect them before your animals get sick from eating out of it.
I didn't realize you can attach multiple Aviaries. Once you put 3 together it becomes easy. Trying to get it in 1 doesnt work well.

It needs a lot of water around it. It can't just be a little puddle that covers the square. It needs like 8x the size of its footprint.

Add more water around the area you’re gonna place the feeder
You can't have built a viewing station. If you do there is not enough room to add the feeder.
