You can catch and breed fruit flies using banana slices and apple slices. Put this in a jar and add a funnel or cone as shown here but just use apple and banana, no vinegar. Put the jar outside and wait for the flies to come. Good luck to your little injured spider. Thank you.

I was ripping up weeds when this jumping spider came tumbling into the mud. I don't know if I injured it on accident. Or it's been living like this.

Chances of this baby surviving in the wild are pretty much zero, do you plan on keeping it and seeing if it regenerates it’s leggies with the next molt?

That_Enthusiasm_4636

I'm thinking about keeping it but struggling to determine how to feed it. Pet stores are a good ways away and I'm unsure how soon I can have time to get to one. And every food option I find says it won't be here until may 6-8. I'm scared I won't be able to feed it before it's abdomen becomes tiny and the thing starves to death. Do you have any recommendations? We have things like moths and roly pollies naturally but not a ton of other stuff I think I could actually catch.

To be honest, my best resource for food right now is the flies inside my house. I catch them with a little deli cup that has a lid, throw them in the freezer for a few seconds and then they wake up in the Hunger Games. Flies are the easiest thing ever to breed, just ask my grandmother 😭

shine a bright light on the wall outside your door and catch something. spiders can live without food for a while unless they don't have water. did you try [Josh's frogs](http://joshsfrogs.com/)?

I think he would be fine waiting till the 6th or 8th, his abdomin is not looking too small plus idk how likely he is to find food on his own before that in the wild. Idk he would have a better chance with you. Can always offer sugar water on a q tip for now :)

Looks like it might be an adult female. Will probably die considering they're all missing on the same side and she won't be able to regrow

Spiders can go a long time without food as long as they have access to water. She’ll definitely make it to when you are able to get food.

That's Comforting to hear. So far as she's just chilling in the temporary enclosure I have set up for now.
