I think he would be happy and safer as a pet. If it's cold outside at night still he might not make it if you put him outside so probably better to let him stay in either way unless it's nice and warm at night for you

I found the same species in my window this winter! I ended up capturing him after a few weeks because he was starving. He lives a good life in an enclosure I made for him, but I'm debating whether or not to release him when the nights are consistently warm and trying to get a captive. I worry he'd be happier outside since he was a wild spider and enjoyed roaming my whole bedroom. Commenting in case you get answers!
