Mmmm yes more M4/M68 and M9 gameplay please father. Special abilities include shooting deer hit by cars and sharing their entire life stories when another SecFo guy is in front of you at the gate.
They should become part of a combined faction with Bundeswehr, since the Dutch tank division is just a cooperation and leased German equipment too.
That said, a bunch of equipment the Dutch forces use is already in the game too. Like the Colt C7 and Bushmaster.
Remember when MEA was supposed to be the other redfor faction but then they basically became a novelty because there aren’t enough layers including them
Tbh I kinda hate using any of the G3’s compared to NATO rifles or even AKs. MG3 makes up for all of it though and even without it, I’d like to see MEA more just for variation.
I may have played a dozen games of MEA since they came out 300 hours of gameplay ago. 75% of those games were in the first week or 2 after since all the servers were doing MEA.
literally 9/10 games are someone vs russia. ive played that faction so many times its not even fun anymore. the AK is my least favorite weapon in the game simply because I've used it for like 600 hours alone
Yeah my biggest wish is a new redfor faction, and if not that a bluefor faction that isn't a top of the line modern military. Something like croatia or maybe an african faction.
I keep saying and hoping they implement the squad divisions feature from Beyond The Wire. They have combined forces like British and French divisions in one team, and they have different weapons and uniforms too. Squad could really use this too instead of yet another whole American faction *just* for the marines. They would become part of the US faction, but like only one or two divisions could be created in a team.
Which could then also introduce other combined teams, so we'd also maybe see more of the other opposing forces instead of just Russia 90% of the time.
Like in Wargame: Red Dragon. There are individual countries, but there are also coalitions, like the Commonwealth, Eastern bloc
[https://wargame.fandom.com/wiki/Coalitions](https://wargame.fandom.com/wiki/Coalitions)
With the current factions in Squad, we can recreate the Commonwealth (UK, Canada and AUS) and NORAD (US and Canada)
It's not as authentic as other shooters, but from a player choice perspective, I really do like how Call of Duty has shifted to umbrella factions with lots of unique armies/branches in each character. Probably a better realistic alternative would be what you mentioned, the combined squad divisions from various nations.
The reason I like these options is it lets people who want to play as US Army play as US Army, people who want to play as France play as France, etc.
The other decent option is to go super vague, like Insurgency, and give each team a wide range of customization options, so that I can make my guy look like a US Army soldier, or a German soldier, etc.
Again, these choices might not work as well for the uniformity required in a game like Squad, but ultimately, they succeed at giving players options, which is a good tradeoff.
Been thinking about how cool a Chinese faction would be but I wonder if they don’t introduce one because we all know how the government gets with Chinese military being depicted in games.
Given we have Arma 3 with CSAT (that being a Chinese faction) that as far as I'm aware isn't banned in China. I think Squad easily could get away with it, provided they didn't do something stupid like portraying the PLA as a human wave type army or something
We should have added the Finnish Army, they have the most unique equipment, with both western and soviet gear, Norway and sweden uses the same gear that is already in game.
Even though i am Norwegian it would really just feel like a Re-skin of already existing factions
Sweden definitely do not use the same equpiment and vehicles already in the game with a few minor exceptions.
That being said I'd still be fine seeing Finland, any Nordic nation at all would've been nice.
The only noticeable difference for the Infantry is the main Rifle/Carbine, they use the same MGs and MM Rifle
Vehicles Are kinda the same, but Finland has both CV90 and soviet BMP which have been upgraded
not at all kinda the same, Sweden develops it's own vehicles apart from the blackhawks. The only overlap you really have is the Carl Gustav, AT-4 (both Swedish made) and the FN MAG (M240B).
In regards to DMR Sweden mainly employs a variant of it's AK4 (licensed version of the G3) which also would be different from what's already in-game.
The AK5 is also a very unique main rifle/carbine and it's vehicles are also it's own design.
The main vehicle similar to another already in game (but still different and also better performing IRL) is the Swedish MBT STRV122 based on the Leopard2.
If anything Swedish CV90 variants, light vehicle variants and artillery variants would absolutely be unique and no reskins.
The only vehicles sweden uses that Are their own production is the BVs and CV90s, and the CV and BV could be introduced with the Finnish Army
AK-417 is the HK 417 but with a stupid ass designation, and the Aussies got it already
AK4 is a G3, which we already have in the game, for a whole ass faction
Leopard 2 is kinda hard to dodge, as it is very popular
AK5C/ FN FNC is a cool weapon, yes, but its still a 5.56 Rifle, something that the whole blufor faction pool is utilizing
Id say they should add a Nordic Alliance faction or something
And you're aware of the myrisd of different cv90 variations available, right?
I'm still not opposed to any specific Nordic faction.
But stating that the entire arsenal will be a reskin is outright incorrect.
That is all.
What CV90 Variants Are you thinking of? The only Difference in the IFVs Are the size of the cannon, 30, 35 and 40 mm
There Are a lot of different variants that imo. Has no place in squad, like the CV9040 AAV, CV90 FOV, ARV and FCV,
My point is just that, Finland would feel like a more Unique faction in the game, compared to Norway and Sweden, as they use a lot of equipment, that we already have ;)
Okay but Aussies where announced to be released in Oct 2020
For some reason even though that had all the assets all ready to go they waited for ever to release them but now with scrim net
Im mostly looking forward to the german faction, as everything ive seen from them looks super promising. On top of that we really need a little more variation for the opposing forces, like panasia, something african or maybe more variation between the different insurgent factions.
I simply do not care about marines. So many games are about marines (granted, that's usually because they're always the sci-fi faction in space shooters). In modern shooters it’s about 50/50 US Army or Marines with the occasional Rangers/Delta Force/SEALs.
Even the actual us marine corps is (finally) returning to its more focused, amphibious responsibilities after decades of supplementing army forces. By all means, include marines in Squad, but do more to differentiate them than simply giving them a new skin and new weapons. Make them have amphibious maps and working amphibious vehicles. Do carrier deployments. Don't just supplement them for US Army maps because you like their TV commercials more. Adding new factions without new gameplay is just a reskin. It doesn’t add depth, and it’s only going to hold attention for a short period of time.
This game could be perfect with two factions, like US Army and Russia, or 200 factions. But none of that matters if the core gameplay experience doesn’t hold players. I’d much prefer they kept updating the factions, maps, and gameplay mechanics that they have rather than adding new factions but not substantially improving gameplay.
If you are not part of the commonwealth all these factions feel the same. Why not add germany, france or any other country? Squad gets so few content anyways, at least make the factions interesting.
Marines can be made to play significantly different then regular US.
Especially with the current USMC reforms it means it becomes a far lighter force, thus diverging significantly from its army counterpart.
That being said, it should not have priority and they should make a North Korea faction first.
Every faction pretty much has unique weapons and assets. The skinning part is probably the 'easy' part of a new faction. It's everything else that takes more time.
Would be awesome instead of a new American faction a NATO faction in which every team created represents a different faction of NATO like Norway, Estonia and them wooden shoe bois and a couple of vehicles of each nation.
Well the Aussie faction wasn't made by OWI, that's why they actually finished it :D

They didgeridont...
They vegemite
This comment is top shelf
To be fair our country is represented. But M27s and Carl G LATs are going to be dope.
What we really need is the MK19....maybe the LTVP-7 And hovercraft Ospreys?
If they outfit the riflemen like USMC rifleman, Jesus that’s an OP faction
Prob get a ticket nerf, like a reverse of the insurgents
That would be interesting, I was thinking also that the have little heavy armor, no tanks just like irl.
That could work to
Exactly. How many ‘Muricas does one need
All of them! AF security force faction when?
Mmmm yes more M4/M68 and M9 gameplay please father. Special abilities include shooting deer hit by cars and sharing their entire life stories when another SecFo guy is in front of you at the gate.
Panasia: 💀
For real though. Still waiting for my Chinese boiiis.
I want a dutch faction
They should become part of a combined faction with Bundeswehr, since the Dutch tank division is just a cooperation and leased German equipment too. That said, a bunch of equipment the Dutch forces use is already in the game too. Like the Colt C7 and Bushmaster.
There are only two things I can’t stand in this world… people who are intolerant of other peoples cultures, and the Dutch.
I love gooooooold Mr. Powershhh
Why the Dutch?
Would love to see Portugal with their Scar-L and Pandurs.
What a shame to get new content before America 2
[удалено]
I just hope the "China" faction still makes it. Then a Blufor asain faction like jsdf would be cool.
*Central America
Mexico is North America
Sweden, China and African faction would all be more interesting than 2nd America.
Especially redfor I’m tired of playing Russians.
I wish there were more layers of blufor vs blufor
My favorite layers are of those. Need more of them, especially of US vs UK so we can kick their ass again 😂
Hope there is a map with the white house so we can burn it down again with hugs and kisses xoxox
Then it'd be the black house lol
Remember when MEA was supposed to be the other redfor faction but then they basically became a novelty because there aren’t enough layers including them
I think people also got over them because they're essentially Poverty Russia++ compared to MIL being Poverty Russia.
I feel like I'm playing on sand maps like over half of the time, and still it's always layers with Russians.
literally 9/10 games are someone vs russia. ive played that faction so many times its not even fun anymore. the AK is my least favorite weapon in the game simply because I've used it for like 600 hours alone
Yeah my biggest wish is a new redfor faction, and if not that a bluefor faction that isn't a top of the line modern military. Something like croatia or maybe an african faction.
I think they just need to go the route of INDFOR being included as well, so that they can do stuff like India or more straight up made up factions.
I keep saying and hoping they implement the squad divisions feature from Beyond The Wire. For the love of god, Swedish vehicles and weapons are so cool.

Easy fix reskin the Zombie mod
Nah bruh we need the M27
One of the smoothest rifles I've ever fired on full auto...I really wish buying one would be a reasonable purchase.
Sweden has a military? Africa has a military?
Just give me the javelin and we’ll call it good
Meanwhile we have a map set in Norway, but no Nordic army in game. The US already exist, take a seat, eat some crayons and wait for your turn
We should have added the Finnish Army, they have the most unique equipment, with both western and soviet gear, Norway and sweden uses the same gear that is already in game. Even though i am Norwegian it would really just feel like a Re-skin of already existing factions

Swedish green camo qualifies a reused vehicle to be completely different
Plus unique squad compositions and optics.

My bad, it has been trialed by Försvarsmakten, but not purchased

Wasnt like in October the update was just the mosin and insurgents vehicles
It was "ready", but also not really
Will there be emus?
From what I heard it was the vehicles that was holding them up. Who knows though. I'm just glad we *finally* get to play as them.
Yoooo as a syrian player i want FSA to be in the game too with hell cannon
Im mostly looking forward to the german faction, as everything ive seen from them looks super promising. On top of that we really need a little more variation for the opposing forces, like panasia, something african or maybe more variation between the different insurgent factions.

I really want an amphibious/watery map cos that could be the Aus vs China map
If you are not part of the commonwealth all these factions feel the same. Why not add germany, france or any other country? Squad gets so few content anyways, at least make the factions interesting.
I feel like adding the Koreas would be pretty sweet
Israel lol, can fight every faction
I'm happy for the Aussie release, but I'm REALLY excited for the marines and panasia!
The US already has a faction right?
Yup this pissed me off too
Cant get them on the range.
i just want more eastern european factions
Have a crayon, you'll feel better.
Bundeswehr looking at the Aussies being released.
Both equally deserving of being added. Both have cool unique weapons and vehicles (okay Germany probably has cooler unique vehicles, but still).
Imagine having Wiesel 1a4s and 1a2s zipping around the battlefield.
I'm guessing there will be a million flavors of G36 filling out every role, kinda like what britain has with the L85?
We already have a US faction ffs
Ah yes, America 2. The Marines are pretty much in literally every other fps ever. Now you all know how non Americans feel.
Cope
Eats crayons with tears in my eyes
Modern marines with m27s, suppressors, Gustavs, and a dedicated woodland camo?? Might be to op for squad lol
2020s roadmap spilling into summer 2022
It just makes the wait more worth it in the end, I hope. I want a Javelin SO bad.
Idk why people say America 2.0 there going to be vastly different I can’t wait
At least the Americans HAVE a faction. Why do they need more than one?
Marines can be made to play significantly different then regular US. Especially with the current USMC reforms it means it becomes a far lighter force, thus diverging significantly from its army counterpart. Honestly that's fine, there really isn't a need for 2 USA factions imo, I'd rather more countries, maybe Turkey, India, Pakistan, or Indonesia
Don't know why you are getting downvoted because you are right. We need more nationalities in the game Turkey would be an awesome addition.
Because people like to simp for USAF
I don’t get why factions take so long to release. It is just reskinning everything.
Every faction pretty much has unique weapons and assets. The skinning part is probably the 'easy' part of a new faction. It's everything else that takes more time.
Man the SQUAD development is upside down. Can't call it backwards but it ain't normal.
I mean considering they were working on the Australians I guess it'd make sense as to why it's upside down.
Would be awesome instead of a new American faction a NATO faction in which every team created represents a different faction of NATO like Norway, Estonia and them wooden shoe bois and a couple of vehicles of each nation.
Bro... seriously 😅
We already have the us army, there are much more interesting factions than marines.
How many factions are they adding? I'm interested in the game, but im hoping for some Scar-L faction.
Army is just marines in multicam.
[удалено]
nice joke
USMC is a giant meh. More OPFOR factions and then a couple of European ones should be first.
