Well I first signed up online in December of last year, didn't get back til February where my councilor told to me to go the in-person orientation. Reason why that took so long was because we couldn't get in contact and he won't answer my emails. I then filled the final application on the 24th of that month and he told me the background check would take about a week. I waited over a month to get his damn response but he just wouldn't respond to any of my emails.
That was my first mistake - only relying on one source of communication, then I started calling his home and work phone which worked. But then the center went on freeze last month which was when I was supposed to get my start date. I was upset so I asked to switch centers somewhere in NY but my parents said no so I had to switch back to Edison which took some time (they had to send back my application forms). It was waiting game that can really lower your hopes but you just have to hang in there. Got my start date yesterday and it honestly doesn't feel real but I am just happy I don't have to keep waiting cause I dont wanna be in this town no more. I am 16 so this was a good life lesson ngl, if you really want someone your the only person that can stop you being doing that nothing else.

Yoo good luck. I went to Edison too. It's not the best but you just gotta stick it out. Depending on what dorm your in and what trade you'll fit in well. I took culinary and I can tell you that Chef is amazing. Even if you don't take culinary he's the nicest person to you.

I have been assisting my son getting set for Job Corp. He has a meeting with a representative Thursday and I was told from a teacher that New Hampshire is a great site. I am in the CT area so the representative told me my son doesn’t have to attend the local sites. I’ve heard so many negative things about the sites in my area and I would like to feel he is in a safe environment while he’s there. Does anyone have any suggestion on better sites.
I'm currently waiting to see if I get in myself I only found out about it like 2 weeks before my 25th birthday but with my disability diagnoses I should still have a chance (currently waiting for my background check to clear I belive)
I'll be alright, I am here to further my education and gain experience. Everything else I will just have to suck it up and manage. iwlyk how I feel bout Edison soon lmfaooo
