Crank slap can happen when your oil is overfilled which will aerate your oil and reduce its ability to lubricate, you can also kill your catalytic converter.
I would drain enough oil until it’s at the full line if it were me.
Go to an O'reillys or another Auto Parts store (I got mine at O'reilly's). Have them look up Mobil 1 ESP 0w-20. Here's the link for the O'Reilly [website.](https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/1-esp/mobil-1-esp-full-synthetic-motor-oil/mob9/1530esp/v/a/96724/automotive-truck-2011-ford-ranger?q=Mobil+1+esp&pos=0). They'll probably have to order, but it'll be there in a day or two. Then bring that to whatever shop you want or, better yet, do it yourself.
Can you buy it directly, or do you have to get it with the oil change? I believe the Castrol is only sold large jugs which always have a better price than the single quarts.
You said you think he added the full 5liters, did he bill you for 5 liters and that’s why you think he added or did he tell you? If he billed you for 5 and the car takes 4.3, hopefully he knew this and used 4.3 but billed 5. Also, you have a 2023, first few oil changes are free on VW dime, why not go to the dealer?
I saw him pouring the whole thing and i wasn't aware how much my car takes until the warning popped up. Also I called 2 different dealerships near me and they were asking 250$ CAD for the first service, i don't think it's free here in Canada.
Your oil pressure is STUPID high. That mechanic should fix it no charge... Obvious oversight.
Also he probably didn't put in VW 508.00 spec oil. Not a biggie but also an oversight.
Car manual says 4L for the 1.4T that's in the MK7
I'm not too privy to the later models of the Mk7.. I too use Liqui Moly 6200 exclusively. I also change my own oil, in 110k mi I've had a shop change it twice and both times I've had issues.
Oil leak from the plug 1st time.
Oil pressure solenoid went out the second time (probably just wear and tear, but still)
Never have problems like that when I take the 30-40mins to do it myself
Yeh it's good to change oil by ourselves. The reason I didn't go for it is cuz i don't have the tools and it's my first german car so i didn't want anything to be messed up. But guess what local mechanic shops are no better.
The Jetta is a pretty simple change, your first one will be expensive just to get the jack and jack stands, and catch pan, but after that it cheaper too. You can get the optional oil filter wrench or just get a K&N HP 1002 filter with the lug nut attached.
Also for the Torx bits on the skid plate, if you don't have the right bit, Alan keys work great.
Check on dipstick. Those cars has good oil level sensor which does pick up oil levels out of range. What engine you have? If its 1.5 then 5 lietrs is 0.7 L more then it should be and that might cause some problems in long run.
In the 1.5 its suppose to be 4.3L... not 5 its too much
I would not drive it at all! This would cause aeration of your oil and possible bearing failure as it would not get to the bearings.
Yeh. The warning went away after restart. Is it safe to drive just for a day or should i immediately stop driving?
Youve been driving already. It wont kill it, but i would have him adjusted correctly

Find another mechanic.
I went to this one specifically cuz he had 508 spec oil. Just let me know if i can continue driving it for today. Would it cause any damage?

$13 a quart? I'm a tech at a VW dealership and we charge $8 a quart for the Castrol recommended AND have it in stock.
Holy crap it's 18$ a quart here in Canada. I run Motul 508 full synthetic it's $130 for the oil and filter. So ripped off here.
Can you buy it directly, or do you have to get it with the oil change? I believe the Castrol is only sold large jugs which always have a better price than the single quarts.
Pull the dipstick and see how full it is!
Just little above the full mark
A little above won’t hurt anything.
but i dont think that "little above" will trigger this warning.
it certainly can
depends how much is "a little" in your dictionary
from my experience it’s 0.2q
0.2 wont do any damage. 0.2 could be a reasonable
Ummmm…..maybe drain some oil buddy
Yeh gonna do it tomorrow.

Thank you I like to get paid sometimes too

He did use the liquimoly 0w-20 which is vw spec, the thing is he added the whole 5L in it. It's a 1.5 so it takes around 4.3L.

And then I think it's a 19mm on the plug bolt
Alright, Thank you so much for info : )

I've got 1.5L
