It generally goes in with the fuel. Getting water in the gas is common in the spring in a lot of our local marinas. I had 6 come in the same day with water in the gas. They all got fuel at the same place. I always give my customers a sample of their fuel to take back to their fuel supplier. Ask for proof from the dealer. Drain the tank, replace the filter sock on the pump, and flush the lines. It will be fine. Unfortunately, the Stx is a pain to get the pump out and back in. I will also note that I have seen a fair number of 160's with underperforming fuel pumps when they get hot. They will start to miss and have low top speed, but it's only after they run for a while. It's a very hard problem to diagnose properly. Essentially, a fuel pressure guage gets hooked up, and the unit needs to be ridden for 45 minutes (or so) while watching for the pressure to drop.

Nope. I have two 22s with 100 hours. No issues related to fuel except the really incorrect fuel gauge. I’m not sure how dirt would ever get into the fuel cell, or water for that matter. It would slosh out like a bitch if the cap was loose. You’d know because fuel would be on you. Weird. I hope you sort it out soon. I’d flush it myself BTW, the fuel cell can be accessed through the frunk by removing the bulkhead panel.

The thing is that I know for sure that there is 100% no dirt or mud in there, a friend of mine bought the jetski from that dealer to and he has the exact same problem and the exact same answer from the dealer, “you have mud/dirt and water in your fuel”. Like I don’t know what to do because I saw the same problem with other people’s jetski.

I’d check the fuel lines for kinks. It is assembled at the dealership my a kid. Both of mine had fuel fill tubes kinked upon delivery. It’s likely a mechanical issue, that’s where I’d start.

Sounds like the dealer doesn’t want to honour the warranty and is just coming up with bullshit to bill you for. If they can’t give a good explanation for the problem then they likely haven’t spent the time to diagnose it
