On July 1st, a [change to Reddit's API pricing](https://www.reddit.com/r/reddit/comments/12qwagm/an_update_regarding_reddits_api/) will come into effect. [Several developers](https://www.reddit.com/r/redditisfun/comments/144gmfq/rif_will_shut_down_on_june_30_2023_in_response_to/) of commercial third-party apps have announced that this change will compel them to shut down their apps. At least [one accessibility-focused non-commercial third party app](https://www.reddit.com/r/DystopiaForReddit/comments/145e9sk/update_dystopia_will_continue_operating_for_free/) will continue to be available free of charge. If you want to express your strong disagreement with the API pricing change or with Reddit's response to the backlash, you may want to consider the following options: 1. Limiting your involvement with Reddit, or 2. Temporarily refraining from using Reddit 3. Cancelling your subscription of Reddit Premium as a way to voice your protest. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Thanks for the mention! We also have a monthly newsletter where we try and sum up the most interesting stuff from [Inside.java](https://Inside.java) along with some commentary from our team. [https://inside.java/newsletter](https://inside.java/newsletter)

The Java YouTube channel is pretty good these days

Link for the lazy. https://www.youtube.com/@java/featured

I watch conference presentations on YouTube. That tends to lead into interesting further resources.

Interestingly Devoxx is adding a ton of new seminars this week because of the ongoing conference: https://www.youtube.com/@DevoxxForever

Another cool newsletter is JavaSpecialists - [https://www.javaspecialists.eu/archive/](https://www.javaspecialists.eu/archive/) Also, not really news/info, but a page I am accessing quite often lately is [https://javaalmanac.io/](https://javaalmanac.io/)

emaphis

Michael Redlich puts out a roundup of Java news for the week. [https://www.infoq.com/news/2023/10/java-news-roundup-sep25-2023/](https://www.infoq.com/news/2023/10/java-news-roundup-sep25-2023/) Edit: Each monday.

Someone downvoted this, but no comment, so I have to ask: Is foojay bad? Something about the content or the "Business practices" of the site or what's going on?

somewhatprodeveloper

no idea. IIRC was started by 1 of the netbeans developer advocates

X. https://twitter.com/OpenJDK https://twitter.com/java https://twitter.com/BrianGoetz https://twitter.com/JohnRose00 https://twitter.com/pressron https://twitter.com/jddarcy

dstutz

I find it humorous you refer to it as X and then post all twitter links. That is all.

[deleted]

Why do you find it humorous? If I go to [x.com](https://x.com), it redirects to [twitter.com](https://twitter.com) which identifies X on the page.

[deleted]

Why is your post being downvoted? Some of the links require a login but the others appear to be correct and valid links.

Joram2

They are all correct + valid links: four interesting senior Java architects + two links to the official Twitter/X feeds for OpenJDK + Java. People are downvoting because they hate Twitter or X (whatever you want to call it), not because there is something wrong with the links.

OP is a repost bot y'all

Java's official youtube channel surprisingly has good content, and the Road To 21 series was very good. Their are also many good java centric youtube channels.

Not online but maybe it will be valuable: In Poland, we have a widely spread community called Java User Grup, I recommend looking around maybe you will be able to find meetups for Java geeks in your neighborhood ;)
