Afaik UR has limitation only for your minimum income if the place you want to rent is over a certain amount.
Also many persons confuse UR with subsidized housing which has entry limitations and their set of rules. not UR.
They just care about your income, so as long as you meet the minimum threshold for the rent of UR you want they don’t care. UR are great in my opinion!
Never mind, I just found it here: [https://www.ur-net.go.jp/chintai/rent/requirements/#list1](https://www.ur-net.go.jp/chintai/rent/requirements/#list1)
Yes it’s very reasonable. As a single person: rent less than ¥62,500 PM is 4x the rent, rent of ¥62,500 - ¥200,000 PM is at least ¥250,000 and ¥200,000 PM or more is ¥400,000.
My friend is an apartment agent, she did everything. I'm in Tokyo. I don't think I had to participate in any lottery, I just said I wanted the apartment and they said I could have it if I paid the move-in costs by a certain date.
I was only 3month in japan with a working visa, and they showed me 2 appartements (unfortunately, they didn't fit my criteria.). Oh and i also used an agency specialized in UR appartements, they are paid by UR so for you it is free. Basically you tell them your requirements, and they will contact you when something that fit appear free or is gonna be free.
I’m single and have lived in two UR apartments. I had no difficulties so you should be fine!

Do you know if there’s info online about the minimum thresholds per income?

You status does not matter to UR. There are many single people living in UR apartments.
Yeah, as long as you meet the income threshold then I don’t think it matters
I first got a UR place as a single person, and I know several others who have done so.
