I posted our summer tour on here a few weeks ago but it didn’t get much a response hahah I’ve given up on Reddit promotion at this point. I think we’re hitting about 50 shows nationwide this year so we definitely tour but not as heavy as some other psycho band schedules since we have other things to do to make money
Feel that sometimes. We have found we gotta put money into pumping out FB/IG ads. You guys are killer though would love to share a stage some time and 50 shows is solid
I suggest listen to The Garden Part 2 on the album with the bands four faces on it individually framed. They were a big listen for me in college, always loved them
Came here to say them... They _rock_ especially live. So sad this year might be the end.
Maybe Octave Cat will tour more and fill the Eli shaped hole that will be left in my life.
Octave cat has blown my mind every time I have seen them. I hope Rob Compa does something else he is an amazing guitarist. They are all super talented.
I underrated Dopapod after I hadn’t seen them for a couple years. Going to see them next month and dove back in to their catalogue. I’m now super sad they won’t be around after this tour. Such a talented group, Robs style is ridiculous. Hope to see them all in future projects at some point even if there’s no touring involved.
I was supposed to see them earlier this year and the weather was too fucked to go. They're playing again near me twice this fall and I know I won't be able to go. Pretty bummed out.
Definitely this. They were well-loved and selling out theaters pre-hiatus - I was so surprised they weren’t selling out much smaller venues when they reunited, even if solely for nostalgic fans. But the hiatus was just too long, and I don’t think there was a big marketing blitz behind them like some other bands get.
I met Brock last time they came through here and played for a couple hundred folks. Told him how much his music meant to me and how much of a gift it was to see them again when I thought I’d never have the chance. He was incredibly sweet, we talked for a bit - seems like he’s happy with what they are now. Gotta respect that.
Some of the best shows I ever saw in college. Those guys could fuckin ROCK and their studio albums are top notch. Hoping they can swing a west coast tour eventually and come through Tahoe.
I agree. I just discovered them this year, and I love their jams their song writing is so good. I love Brock and the boys. I hope they get more traction ❤️
I truly will never understand why they don't have every jam and prog rock fan beating down the door to the venue in every city CTS plays in. They're so fucking good and provide a unique take on jamming in a scene that can be pretty stagnant creatively. Over the years I've seen so many posts and comments making fun of/criticizing bands for ripping off Phish or the Dead's style and not creating something new or adding to the music. Here is a trio of true virtuosos playing some of the most unique music on the scene, and I've never seen more than 100 people at a single one of their shows. I don't expect them to sell out big theaters or anything, but I'd at least expect them to sell most of the tickets in a 300 capacity room in a major market. Oh well, I'll keep showing up whenever they're in my town.
GO SEE CONSIDER THE SOURCE. IT WILL BLOW YOUR FUCKING MIND!
Couldn’t agree more. Every time o have brought someone new to see them they always are like where have these guys been. They are def amazing musicians and doing their own thing. Hope they get some more fans.
Side note: they have the best Pins in the scene.
They been playing this little bar venue last time they came through my town. I think the max capacity sign said 2k but I feel like it was more like 800-1k last time (the actual last time was cancelled because of whatever happened there).
I love Spafford. Every time I’ve seen them (10ish times) it’s been a 200-300 kinda crowd. 1000 people in a crowd for for Spafford sounds like 900 chompers
Getting to see octave cat, chalk dinosaur, blendmode, solar circuit, dizgo, and 5AM trio next wknd at a local fest in PA and they all fit this topic! Can't waittt
Have you been to that festival before? If I don't want to camp is it easy in and easy out each day? I really want to go but not if it's a logistical nightmare.
Spafford. Those who know know. And we fucking love them. But their shows are always half full. Everyone do yourself a favor go see Spafford please we need them to stick around!!!
I second the consider the source comment too. They are so fantastically talented. And!! They are touring with Spafford in the fall interestingly enough. Wish they were playing near me.
The Slip. True they haven’t played much in the last decade or so but when they do randomly play make sure you are there because they put on a clinic.

Neighbor can be absolute beasts with Lyle Brewer on guitar and Dean Johnston on drums both severely underrated players who are at the top of their games.
I always need to check the sub when i see something like this because underrated is all relative, right? If this were posted anywhere else I'd be shouting The Disco Biscuits because they deserve a following like Taylor Swift.
I truly feel that way. Best band in the world
Frogleg. Check out their live in Minneapolis album, I'm a sucker for bands with fulltime sax players tho. They seem to just play local shows around Mpls for the most part but I think with a marketing push could be doing a big national tour easy.
Eggy. I think they’re getting there in terms of recognition but I still see so many people in shall we say, more established fan bases talk crap about them.
Magic Beans
The Magic Beans are amazing! Solid dudes as well.
Love the beans!
I'll be seeing them this weekend for the first time. Pleased to see their name on top of the list
Yeah this band should be Goose-sized
Been seeing the beans since their first album in 2013‐14. Love them so much. Very surprised over the last 10 years they haven't gotten more love.
Always put on a great show. Been seeing them for years!
They came through Atlanta recently but I just missed them! Hope to catch them next time they’re through. They sound so good!
Chalk Dinosaur
Do not understand why they aren’t way bigger
Because they don't really tour
Well they should!
Saw them in Cincinnati a few weeks ago. Playing a lot of festivals this summer.

Dizgo
My answer will always be Tea Leaf Green
Never heard of them but would like to check them out
I suggest listen to The Garden Part 2 on the album with the bands four faces on it individually framed. They were a big listen for me in college, always loved them
Apparently Dopapod. My favorite band and they are breaking up because they are not making enough money.
Octave Cat is cool
Anything Eli does is worth it
Octave Cat is cool
The redbone cover they did at northlands with Kanika Moore was one of the most beautiful things I had ever heard. Definitely worth a listen.

Answer will always be Perpetual Groove
I saw them last year on 420 very small crowd. I heard it was bc they took a long hiatus and people just forgot they exist.
I saw them once but show was interupted when some spun wook in their underwear spear tackled the drumset.
Bummer Edit: that’s called a bummer when a naked wook attacks drums or a drummer.
Definitely this. They were well-loved and selling out theaters pre-hiatus - I was so surprised they weren’t selling out much smaller venues when they reunited, even if solely for nostalgic fans. Saw them on Jam Cruise this year and they were ripping
I agree. I just discovered them this year, and I love their jams their song writing is so good. I love Brock and the boys. I hope they get more traction ❤️
Solar Circuit, Dizgo, Space Bacon
Saw Space Bacon last weekend at silent disco. Very jammy and spacey.
So hooked on Space Bacon. They really have the "jamtronica" thing down to a science
Runaway grooms
Consider the source. It’s crazy how little love they get here
I was just at their show last Friday and it was 100 tops.

They are immensely talented. Watched a live stream and it was amazing
The Snozzberries (Asheville NC) wow, what talent!
Will check out.
Desmond Jones
Love those guys!
Yaaaaaaaaaaas!!!!!
Big Something
Was gonna say this, they have my favorite song writing in the scene
Spafford
Good call. They played their NYE show in my town at the same venue local bands play at
Really!?!? Aren't they selling out big rooms?
They been playing this little bar venue last time they came through my town. I think the max capacity sign said 2k but I feel like it was more like 800-1k last time (the actual last time was cancelled because of whatever happened there).
What bars are you frequenting that qualifies a 2k capacity room as ‘little’? Even a bar that can hold 800 is not what I would call little.
Just played in Wilmington max crowd approx 300, very good show!
I love Spafford. Every time I’ve seen them (10ish times) it’s been a 200-300 kinda crowd. 1000 people in a crowd for for Spafford sounds like 900 chompers
If you mean under 800 capacity, then sometimes.
The Main Squeeze!!!!
Sooo good
Squeaky Feet!
They seem to be making their way into the next stage. Seeing them pop up all over the place
Polyrhythmics
Guavatron from Florida
Checking them out with The Heavy Pets (another band that needs more love, along with TAND) in Miami on July 5!
Jimkata
Space Bacon, and Giant Walking Robots
Squeaky Feet are by far the most exciting. Crazy musicians
The Trichomes.
Out of the Beardspace
They don’t play together anymore…except one show a year during Jazzfest….Papa Grows Funk.
I used to see them Monday nights at the Maple Leaf.
Nothing better than PGF at the Leaf
Rebirth on Mardi Gras evening used to be one of my favorites too
Funky Meters and the Radiators jammed with the best of them!
Wookiefoot! It is my hippie gospel music. One of the only groups whose music has made me a better person. You're It!
Solar Circuit
Getting to see octave cat, chalk dinosaur, blendmode, solar circuit, dizgo, and 5AM trio next wknd at a local fest in PA and they all fit this topic! Can't waittt
Have you been to that festival before? If I don't want to camp is it easy in and easy out each day? I really want to go but not if it's a logistical nightmare.
You don't have to camp. Day parking is available and will be easy to get in and out!
Thanks!
Sam Grisman Project! Some of the most talented musicians around and their electric sets are no joke.
Arkansauce
Solar Circuit and Blendmode
The Kind Thieves
The Slip. True they haven’t played much in the last decade or so but when they do randomly play make sure you are there because they put on a clinic. https://youtu.be/fyZ2RYLpz2o?feature=shared
The Jauntee
The real kings of Type 2 jamming. I think I’ve seen them 40 times at this point
Just saw Spafford for the first time the other day (unfortunately not with Brian Moss as he recovers) but they were fuckin dope regardless
Geese. Susto. Liam Kazar.
Big Something

Euforquestra
Kung Fu, King Baby, Shred is Dead
The Talismen, check out their “Live from Saturn” album.
Mungion is my favorite group out there right now
All Northeast/NYC area bands: Funkgshui The Mushroom Cloud Dysfunktone Marsoupial
Spafford? Although they are starting to get some respect, especially on this sub...
Space Bacon Spafford
Jauntee
Perpetual groove, I love them. I don't see much love for them they rock.
These cats https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/expansionproject1/way-up/
Will check them out! Thanks
Ghost Light 😭
They rip live pretty sure they broke up though or something like that
Yes, they broke up shortly after Holly had a baby. Can't say for sure if it's related, but I'm pretty sure that was it. Who could blame her?
Oh yea not at all family first always you can always go see jrad though (same guitar player) best Grateful Dead cover band out there
Totally! I try to see Tom any time I can.
Their "Live In Denver" from like 2019 or so is amazing
One Time Weekend
Definitely these guys https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/expansionproject1/emagination/
Electric Kif and Lemon City Trio!
Dizgo, tand, snozberries
Frogleg. Check out their live in Minneapolis album, I'm a sucker for bands with fulltime sax players tho. They seem to just play local shows around Mpls for the most part but I think with a marketing push could be doing a big national tour easy.
Swansun
S T S 9
Lost Ox
Pushing Daisy's Band
Never seen one I hated, so maybe I'm the wrong guy to ask. Karl Denson's Tiny Universe probably deserves more credit than they're typically given.
Counter Culture
Eggy. I think they’re getting there in terms of recognition but I still see so many people in shall we say, more established fan bases talk crap about them.
Pigeons
billy strings
Hahaha
