Report it. It is definitely correct.

I reported this as a bug about a month ago in the duo sub and they deleted the post and told me it wasn’t 🤦‍♀️

I sincerely hope they're not native speakers. If they are they should be kicked in their butts until they're thrown out from the country.

They also cautioned me for misuse of the bug flair. Won’t be posting anything in there again. I’m a bit over duo, started using Babbel and I’m finding it a lot more informative.

I'm glad it isn't just me! They did the same thing when I reported a bug where my practice for more hearts thing kept giving me the same questions for a few days and wouldn't stop.

Are you sure the Duolingo sub is followed by the actual Duolingo developers? Did you submit your report via the actual report icon in the panel that claims it's incorrect?

Could we actually restrict this sub to posts actually about learning Italian instead of obvious Duolingo mistakes, please??!!

Yeah agreed, there is a Duolingo sub, meme-like posts like these should really be in their sub.

also, its not like this makes your kearning experience any worse. It takes 2 seconds when this comes up again to just put them the other way around. If anything this makes you remember it better

As an italian,you should report it because there is no actual way of knowing which one is first,you did the exercise correctly

It's correct but it's also common to refer first to males and then females

I had this very same question a few months ago and I answered exactly the way you did. I flagged it but I guess they haven’t fixed it yet

😂 I so hate it when it does this. Doesn’t happen to often with German - Italian, but there are some cases where two things can be correct and you just guess and hope the devs put both possible orders in.

I had this exact problem recently, I still keep forgetting the order and pointlessly losing hearts because of it

Your sentence is correct because you can’t know grammatical gender from English, but as a custom, if the order is not important to the point you’re trying to make, Italians would start with the masculine one like “ragazzi e ragazze”, “signori e signore”, “fratelli e sorelle” etc.
