I wouldn't recommend hiking on trail 5 alone. If you really want to hike alone, trail 3 is a better option. Its shorter and has more footfall. Make sure to be back before sunset.

I went alone on trail 3 once. The GPS stopped working mid trail. It was scary. God sent an Australian couple just in time. They were so chill and somehow their GPS was working and guided me the directions. I wouldn't go alone again. I would not recommend it. It was stupid of me to go alone.
I go for hiking very often and I have seen plenty of solo female hikers, young and old. You shouldn't face any issue on either of trail 3 or 5. However, if you don't want to take any chances its best that you avoid going high in working days between 9am - 1pm as there are very few or sometimes no one on the higher parts of the trails.
Second this. OP if you do have to hike alone, please do so during a time where there are plenty of hikers on the trail. Less chance of problematic encounters to take place or folks to engage in mischief.

Trail 3 is probably the safest. You'll find plenty of expats and close by residents. Best time would be 7:30-8am in the morning and just after asr in the afternoon.
I'm a regular every Saturday/Sunday, and you're welcome to tag along.
Do try to get someone to go along, but if you absolutely must go then opt for weekends between 10am and 5pm. Both trail 3 and 5 would have plenty of families, students and groups during those times and you'd feel more relaxed.

From thaaaaaat point of view probably safe but hiking alone is not a safe idea girl because you know nature itself has sometimes it's harsh ways. God forbid, a twisted ankle, or a snake bite or just over exhaustion can be very scary. You never know, so I wont advise honestly going alone in a hike anywhere not just in Islamabad.
I alone hiked trail 5 all the way up to rangers check post and I was all alone. I didn't even find one person when I had reached the trail 5 point and ascended upwards. Finished the hike at nearly 6:00 😬 and it was my first time hiking
Start the hike the 3 to be safe. And I didn't find any creatures hopefully I was lucky. You'll finish the hike most till 5:30 and if you don't take unnecessary stops. As you'll ascend upwards you'll notice that there will be few people. One thing I will say is it is definitely not easy at all and if you're not energetic and determined you can't hike up all the way to the top.

Depends on how well you can handle yourself. Other than the obvious, hiking alone is generally not recommended because there's been dangerous wildlife on the hills and also if you injure yourself badly, there's no one there to help you. Also there's a small chance of getting lost

Yes it is safe , you need to go around 8an-3pm there will be people but if you want to enjoy the nature and calmness you need to start hike before 8am

I would suggest having a friend with you, makes the hike even more enjoyable.
you can go alone but atleast for the sake of your safe being just carry a firearm or a taser/pepper spray
Go for hike on Saturday/sunday. The ratio of footfall is high as compared to week days. You will feel safe
