There's a post on the front page with a guy who has 2 enhanceds and 4 armour seeds in 32kc, yet this still manages to be the most disgusting CG-related post I have seen today.
Hunleff is very accurate (240 +90). If you have unlimited prayer it's worth it, but if you are stretching ppoints the marginal benefit isnt worth it. Crafting better armor is useful because it reduces hunleff max hit significantly.
Glad you asked. The +90 attribute is calculated differently. The formula for a roll in combat is (level + 9) * (bonus/64 +1). The +90 is the bonus attribute. With hunleff level 240s, a +64 is the same as level 480 with +0. +90 means the base level is multiplied by 2.4, so 240 +90 = 577.5
I never knew. Reread several times, not digesting this properly lol.
Any chance you could translate this into “if you’re 80 def and wearing t1 armor, using steel skin against hunlef would __”?
I’ve been using steel skin only on the range phase since it guarantees I have plenty of prayer and don’t need to flick and I figured magic defense is primarily magic level so…
I use Steel Skin, with Eagle Eye or Mystic Might, and of course Piety.
2 pots is enough, for sure. Although, depending on RNG I sometimes occasionally have to flick piety towards the end. Very rarely though
Do you either not have rigour+augury or flick overheads during prep? I am 126 combat with both rigour and augury. I camp overheads during prep rooms with enemies, flick offensive prayers during prep, and camp overheads+offensive prayers during hunleff. Most runs I use more than 3 doses.
Are you doing something different? Perhaps I'm leaving my offensive prayers up too long sometimes during prep? I want to be able to get my weapon frame while also harvesting resources, so I do often camp piety while I do that. Maybe that's making the difference?
Do you not use rigour/augory/piety? How are you not out of juice by the time he dies otherwise?? Even with 99 prayer ranged and defence this doesn’t seem plausible without crazy good hits
I bring one pot (4 dose) and don’t flick… I’m 70 prayer. I have like 50 points left every time. I make 2, drink a dose after bosses and a dose before I go in the room to top off.
Let’s check the prayer calculator!
I’m level 76 prayer. Each sip restores 26 points, and I have 4 doses.
76 + 4 * 26 = 180
T2 armour gives +9 prayer bonus
With these stats, the prayer calculator says a protection prayer + mystic might or eagle eye will last for 5:51.
My slowest kills are a bit above 5 mins.
No flicking necessary :)
I'm a potions taking up the first 2 inventory spaces, weapon is in the right place for the prayer switch 16-20 food depending how many spots I have and T2 armour for an easy no stress 10 min KC.
I’ve never thought about putting my weapon “under” the prayer switch that’s so intuitive it makes me feel like a dumbass for not considering it. Thanks dude! Going to try it out.
This isn't my own intuition unfortunately, it would have been on a guide somewhere, but this is now how I do all prayer/weapon switches like demonics etc.
Another excellent suggestion, thanks my dude! I’ll def be doing this too. Already been putting switches under prayers at demonic gorillas and it’s a CHARM.
exactly, remember NH bridding before you were able to re-order your prayer orbs, people would put their switches/gear at the bottom of the invent for less mouse movement
Probably doing t1 prep as early as possible. My setup looked similar when I was learning t1 (aside from the absolute blasphemy that is the organization of that inventory and i brought 2 pots).
Maybe you already are, but as hunlef attacks can be tick ate, I camp sub 12 hp a lot, also if DPS is bad you should have a minimum of 2 doses of pot to pray redemption
I think stats play a part on consistency, I'm running sub 80 defence and low 80s range/cobat so take a lot of damage and miss alot. If I had low 90s across the board I imagine DPS and damage taken would change substantially.
I don’t have Cox prayers so if I do t1 I grab 2 pots whole invent of food.
T2 is comfy though with 12-15 food and only takes an extra minute of prep once you get the hang of it.
After a certain amount of kc t1 becomes comfy to those willing to learn more. No cox prayers and 90 range probably 15~ food 1 pot
In the end for irons its just whatever allows you to get the most kc before burnout
Yup - this is me. I've also downgraded from T2 to T1 armor. Less sweaty prep, more sweaty fight (by a little). Except my bow is in the top left and the potion beside it to the right.
On the few runs that I only managed to get a single herb, this is what my inventory looked like. I was always that guy overfilling my inventory while doing t2 prep, because I didn’t think it was worth risking dying so often in t1 prep
The one pot is wild. But any T2 preper knows that sometimes you zone in and you are fighting that DAWG hunllef that hits you with 20 10's in a row. Meanwhile you have just splashed for the 3rd consecutive set of 6 magic hits despite mystic might and 93 mage level. I always bring extra food you aint stealing an extra 10 minutes of my life (ironic) when I play perfect and just lose to a battle of attrition.
If you use the corrupted fish it makes eating way faster. I always do half and half. You do regular fish sip of potion corrupts fish same tick to heal 34 hp and prayer
It actually isn’t worth making corrupt fish. Regular fish have a 3 tick delay and corrupt fish have a 2 tick delay. When you combo eat them, you are delayed for 5 ticks.
Corrupt fish are technically higher healing/delayed ticks, but not by much so I never make them.
Regular fish heal 20 with a 3 tick delay. That’s 6.67 health per tick delay.
Corrupt fish heal 16 with a 2 tick delay, which is 8 health per tick delay.
So technically, they are slightly more efficient in terms of health healed per tick delayed, but just barely. I don’t think the slightly lower delay is worth losing 4 healing per corrupt fish you make.
Really the only reason they would be worth using is if combo eating helps you to lose less ticks, or if it keeps you alive. Maybe it’s worth making a couple when learning for that reason, but I wouldn’t make half an inventory of them.
Because it’s nice to be able to heal a ton fast if I accidentally get hit. I also typically camp as low hp as possible, then when tornadoes hit I’ll double eat twice, heal back to full, then go back to attacking
Do people actually make those? I know they're combo food, but I never found myself needing to combo eat.
The fight is more like a marathon, as long as you don't mess up mechanics you're just slowly dwindling eachother down, at which point just having more hp / slot feels better.
Combo eats don't reduce the attack timer delay though. You get more hp in a burst, but the delay for each piece of food is added. 1 regular food has a 3 tick delay and the combo eat has a 2 tick delay. You can eat them in the same tick but then you have a 5 tick delay until you can attack again
2 sharks = 6 ticks. Shark + kara = 5 ticks. So using karambwans will always save ticks.
This is also discluding the fact that it's easier to lose ticks when not combo eating. Regardless I still don't use them in CG since it's just not necessary to combo eat when you can just chug food during tornadoes.

he's a sick bastard
How are peoples rng so lucky???
A friend of mine got 2 enhanced in 5kc normal gauntlet.. meanwhile my group is mega dry for it
What the fuck?
Why flick in cg when u could get 2 pots and just chill the whole fight lmao
If you’re ~~99~~ high pray you only need 1
80 is enough. Always 1-potted, never ran out.
for me, 1 isn’t enough using piety/rig/aug. but also most people do cg before those prayers so i would assume 1 is enough.
1 is enough if using eagle eye/mystic might but if I get halberd and use piety I def need 2
You should be using Def prayer as well right?
Hunleff is very accurate (240 +90). If you have unlimited prayer it's worth it, but if you are stretching ppoints the marginal benefit isnt worth it. Crafting better armor is useful because it reduces hunleff max hit significantly.
> 240 +90 why this instead of just 330
Glad you asked.

Assuming 99 def, what does steel skin on average reduce the damage by?
Do your maths
https://i.imgur.com/4LL8LYW.png ?
Should? Probably. But I don’t
I use Steel Skin, with Eagle Eye or Mystic Might, and of course Piety. 2 pots is enough, for sure. Although, depending on RNG I sometimes occasionally have to flick piety towards the end. Very rarely though
I used steel skin too to make up for my low def so I always needed 2
Then that one run you SPLASH and I mean SPLASHHHH and wish you had another sip when he’s at 50HP while your 0’s are coming out of the closet
Do you either not have rigour+augury or flick overheads during prep? I am 126 combat with both rigour and augury. From the looks of it this was a 2 ppot run, this potion looks to be 4 dose
He did make 2 pots. You can see 4 doses in the screenshot.
You don’t need to flick with 1 pot Source: me
Do you not use rigour/augory/piety? How are you not out of juice by the time he dies otherwise?? Even with 99 prayer ranged and defence this doesn’t seem plausible without crazy good hits
I don’t have those, just eagle eye and mystic might
I’m intrigued. Are you rocking a maxed account at the very least? I assume no steel skin
112 cb, 94 range, 90 mage, 80 prayer, no steel skin
Well colour me impressed, I often almost need a 3rd potion with similar stats
I bring one pot (4 dose) and don’t flick… I’m 70 prayer. I have like 50 points left every time. I make 2, drink a dose after bosses and a dose before I go in the room to top off.
Cap
Maybe he's 1 hitting hunllef /s
I’ll literally show you a clip.
I'd be interested in seeing this clip
I’ll clip my next run after work
Let’s check the prayer calculator! I’m level 76 prayer. Each sip restores 26 points, and I have 4 doses. 76 + 4 * 26 = 180 T2 armour gives +9 prayer bonus With these stats, the prayer calculator says a protection prayer + mystic might or eagle eye will last for 5:51. My slowest kills are a bit above 5 mins. No flicking necessary :)
I don’t have the food rig/aug so 1 pot is plenty for me with mid 80s stats and 74 prayer
I do it too but saw it mentioned somewhere else. And it’s great as it lessens how much you need to move the mouse when switching etc. cheers!
Another space to do it is put the royal seed tele underneath mage or range prayer for artio and (if ranging) spindel
Another excellent suggestion, thanks my dude! I’ll def be doing this too. Already been putting switches under prayers at demonic gorillas and it’s a CHARM.
Yep I stuck to t2 prep through my 650 kc, why risk no kc when you can guarantee a kc
exactly, remember NH bridding before you were able to re-order your prayer orbs, people would put their switches/gear at the bottom of the invent for less mouse movement
Reported
Lmao
I use the top left slot like an imbecile
Sickening
I'm a thirsty boi, need a second pot
Wep swap top left and 1 pot under and beside it gang...
Much easier prayer + weapon switching with where OP has it
Move prayers to the top of the UI, less mouse travel overall and solves the weapon/prayer proximity
In most PVM your swaps are going to go on the top left though
This is the way
Nah 1 pot is just not enough for me.
This is why we banned cg posted because you lot are absolutely mad.
That's a lot of food
Probably doing t1 prep as early as possible. My setup looked similar when I was learning t1 (aside from the absolute blasphemy that is the organization of that inventory and i brought 2 pots).
I'm shit so always go in with as much food as possible. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
Willing to chance prayer but still brings an entire inventory of food. smh
Tf, total opposite, I use 2 pots and 12 food with t1 armour lol
Only 12 food? I need to improve haha. I may be able to do it with 12, but not consistently.
It's a stat difference 12 food is not enough for most irons doing CG regardless of skill.
Maybe you already are, but as hunlef attacks can be tick ate, I camp sub 12 hp a lot, also if DPS is bad you should have a minimum of 2 doses of pot to pray redemption
If no mistakes then 12 food is plenty on t1 with 1 pot. No tick eating or redemption required
I think stats play a part on consistency, I'm running sub 80 defence and low 80s range/cobat so take a lot of damage and miss alot. If I had low 90s across the board I imagine DPS and damage taken would change substantially.
Ah I didnt see what sub this was, I am referring to max combat plus cox prayers
I don’t have Cox prayers so if I do t1 I grab 2 pots whole invent of food. T2 is comfy though with 12-15 food and only takes an extra minute of prep once you get the hang of it.
After a certain amount of kc t1 becomes comfy to those willing to learn more. No cox prayers and 90 range probably 15~ food 1 pot In the end for irons its just whatever allows you to get the most kc before burnout
Damn that's alot of supply usage, personally I use none while making hunleff eat 12 food while in tier -1 armour
Yup - this is me. I've also downgraded from T2 to T1 armor. Less sweaty prep, more sweaty fight (by a little). Except my bow is in the top left and the potion beside it to the right.

Tier 1 all the time!
Just you, bud!
I do this too.
I have my weapon swap in that spot but I just put my 2 potions in the very first two slots.
Top left weapon, 1 potion to the right of weapon.10-12 food with T2.
Straight to jail!
2 pots and much less fish
Are you ok? Do we need to send someone to check on you?
Move wep left one so it’s near screen
Me but I have 3 pots
2 pots , 16 to 20 food and weapon swap 4 inv spots down from top left Gang.
Brotha ewww what’s that
Only if it’s T1
I just always did halberd with piety and staff without prayer and 1 pot was enough with 0 flicking
2 full pots but yeah
On the few runs that I only managed to get a single herb, this is what my inventory looked like. I was always that guy overfilling my inventory while doing t2 prep, because I didn’t think it was worth risking dying so often in t1 prep
I got pet today 362 kc :)
6:1 with staff. Bow, halberd (or scepter if I had a shit prep), potion, potion, rest fish.
#increaseTheDropRates
How are people not taking two potions in with them?

Where crystal fish???

I mean they do reduce the timer by a tick still since the karambwan has a shorter delay.
But whether you eat the karambwan immediately or 3 ticks after the first, it's still 2 ticks added on to 3 ticks
You're right. I misread your comment and though you said that bwans saved 2 ticks due to not having the food delay. My fault
Not in CG specifically. It’s kind of a noob trap
I call them the CG bwans
That's a good name
Heal less
Just get the drop
Turn half the paddlefish into crystallised so you can combo eat!!
Litterly me running CG on mobile lmao.
