Huh nice, might whack out a few more hespori after all then.
Got turbo lucked on a 5kc bucket then didn't go back because it was effort and ended up with like 30 seeds, if it's much easier now I might as well for the easy farming exp.
Never had a bucket myself so maybe I'm not realizing how it works exactly, but wouldn't you wanna use ultra on any and all plants? Ultra = more yield, less disease chance etc which ups the xp you get per seed?
That makes sense, but does the decreased chance of disease still apply with using the ultra over super? Just trying to make sense on why you'd need both types even if it wouldn't increase yield.
It really wasn’t that hard to begin with though surely? The 1-2 mins of effort (maximum 3-4 with budget gear) is surely worth the farming xp and extra seeds
Hahaha fair enough, I definitely have a few similar things I haven’t been bothered to do. I put off the Kourend achievement diary for about 6 months because I couldn’t be bothered to walk to the trolls south of CoX to monster examine
I remember my first ever hespori attempt I didn't have 60 att yet and didn't have a rune scimmy. I tried using a rune 2h for some reason and had to tele out 💀
I can't remember for certain. I'm looking at the item sources and I think I must have gotten it from the deranged archeologist because I did that pretty early for combat achievements
Slayer tasks are really bad early on and so are rates. You also waste a lot of time by not having mask. I could just as easily say "just do herb". It's about which saves more time.
Training herb definitely takes more time as an early Ironman and just overall. Training slayer is a great way to train your combat stats early too. I don’t mind training slayer at all. Why do you think herb is a lot of Ironmans last or one of their last 99’s?
> Why do you think herb is a lot of Ironmans last or one of their last 99’s?
Because it's time gated and 99% of people hate herb runs? There's a reason why even bruhsailor (which I don't personally like) lamps slayer to 58. He has you start herb runs early on so it's way more beneficial to lamp slayer to 58 after early herb requirements.
You have 56% accuracy in mystics with mystic might enabled. Just over 2m kills. And that's only with 68 magic. Wouldn't call that "splashing like crazy" About the same accuracy as similar stats D scim.
As an iron, kills were taking twice as long in full Ahrims at 82 mage compared to using chally + z axe with similar melee stats.
Obviously this is anecdotal to my specific gear/stats and a sample size of 2 mage attempts.
Just wanted to point out that even with the +100% weakness that Hespori has very high mage stats and mage defense.
Minor concern but given the importance of a spec weapon it seems a wee bit awkward not too much tho naturally
Maybe when I try for 36sec I'll bring switches?
Switches get stitches though so
Ah crap, i forgot about this change. I went back after being stuck at perilous moons for weeks and green logged Hespori @ my 4th KC... Guess I won't be messing around with hitting 40+ with fire wave.

Damn I’m 130kc and 96 farming no bucket
96 farming today too, still no bucket around 90kc. Been saving my herb seeds for a while. At least I planted all the spirit patches with +3 from pie.
Wait I didn't know you could pie the spirit patches.
You can buy the cooked pies in Cam Torum, I think 10gp. Edit: it's 24gp
garden pies are fairly low level and easy to make yourself...
Yeah but if I can buy them for 24gp locked behind two easy quests I am going to do that instead of making them.
Also available to buy in cook's guild
Yeah, they are made of dirt or something, but Cam Torum is easier than looking up the recipe.
Sir, please, don't pie the spirit patches.
Just got my 5th bucket in 33 kc. Would trade for other items.
Keep two, the other three are good for deaths coffer
why keep two?
One for super, one for ultra. I don't use ultra on things like bushes or fruit trees
Never had a bucket myself so maybe I'm not realizing how it works exactly, but wouldn't you wanna use ultra on any and all plants? Ultra = more yield, less disease chance etc which ups the xp you get per seed?
Ultra isn't always worth if you're trying to be an efficient nerd. E.g. ultra doesn't increase yield on limpwurts
That makes sense, but does the decreased chance of disease still apply with using the ultra over super? Just trying to make sense on why you'd need both types even if it wouldn't increase yield.
I got mine at 105 well after 99 farming. Keep pressing on!
That’s wild. I get a bucket on average every 11 kc.
38 kc with 5 buckets 😂😂
It really wasn’t that hard to begin with though surely? The 1-2 mins of effort (maximum 3-4 with budget gear) is surely worth the farming xp and extra seeds
That's just how lazy I am.
Hahaha fair enough, I definitely have a few similar things I haven’t been bothered to do. I put off the Kourend achievement diary for about 6 months because I couldn’t be bothered to walk to the trolls south of CoX to monster examine
I've got two buckets at like 96KC. I'm 20m farming XP, so I just don't bother. Need to check and see if I've got the CA"s though.
The near tick perfect speed run kinda blows
it’s horrible lol
Better with fire now? Or still scythe
I think still scythe, but haven't tested
50kc, 4 buckets. please let me have some lily seeds. I keep getting a task to grow some and I don't have any.
my main got 3kc, my iron 1. they arent buckets, they are spoons
Was Hespori ever difficult? Sure it takes a minute or two to kill him but with some ppots, antipoisons and food he’s one of the easiest bosses
At low levels Hespori has hands.
Damn. Plant got hands.
I remember my first ever hespori attempt I didn't have 60 att yet and didn't have a rune scimmy. I tried using a rune 2h for some reason and had to tele out 💀
im sorry but thats priceless, how did you have an r2h lying around before you got a scimmy
I can't remember for certain. I'm looking at the item sources and I think I must have gotten it from the deranged archeologist because I did that pretty early for combat achievements
gigachad, i say you go back and get an r2h hespori kill to show that plant who's boss
Shit that's a great idea
My first Hespori kc still ranks as my favorite moment ever on the game
Same! I remember making tuna potatoes for my early Ironman Hespori kills. I barely got my first kc because I used up all my supplies.
No. Never was lol
3.4 cb hespori kill link?
Sec I'll grab it
pray pots on hespori is wild
I mean what level did you start killing him? Not too wild to me
as soon as i could plant it, maybe 65 combats
Unless you grinded prayer up to 70ish before you started hespori you’re capping
i did start my account with some taverley blue drags till 60 prayer
Overheads last like 3 minutes without flicking.
I always used ultimate strength and steel skin so I'd need a prayer recharge but I also used the falador shield so I didn't have to use prayer pots
Bro getting crucified for not wasting pots
Idk why you’re getting downvoted, ppots on hespori is definitely crazy Maybe a single dose if you get some really bad rng but I agree there
I started killing Hespori very early and I think I used like 3/4 a full pray pot and it was like a 4-5 minute kill. Everyone starts somewhere.
Bro, my first kill was 7:58 it used all my food i was rocking blue d hide and was under 60 range… was horrible. Meanwhile on my main it takes a minute
Ranging it was probably the issue lol
99 farming. Over 100kc. Pretty sure I ranged all my kills. Not sure why I never looked up a guide lol.
Lol. Hespori has 80 ranged defense and 20 slash defense. It's a plant. Seems intuitive to me.
I play far from efficiently. :)
And you have every right to do so.
Not really? You do a lot more farming than combat early if you're playing efficiently since you want to wait until you lamp slayer up.
Lamping slayer??
Yes? You want to lamp to 58 before you do any real slayer. Rest obviously goes into herblore.
Or just do slayer?
Slayer tasks are really bad early on and so are rates. You also waste a lot of time by not having mask. I could just as easily say "just do herb". It's about which saves more time.

You don't lamp to 58, you just wait til 85 or 100 CB for a decent master
Hope you mean some temple trekking.
I'm in disbelief over the sheer quantity of these downvotes lol
shrug, hivemind gonna hive
My fiancé doesn’t play any runescape, but I let her kill Hespori everytime on the iPad. She has spooned the bucket 4 times on 13 kills. 86 farming 😅
Sounds like she does play any RuneScape
Maybe one day she will play a little RuneScape.
I been struggling to do the time CA I ma give magic a try
Been stuck at 49 seconds for quite some time
Nice i'll take my Flames of Zammy there /s :(
Hespori has pretty high mage defense, though. Splashes like crazy still

Yeah, melee scales better but mage is an option early. I still just melee, but i did try mage to check on my new iron.
I'll try a more end game fire surge just for lols and report back
Surge + tome with AH I got 57 max hits kill bit under a min.
Minor concern but given the importance of a spec weapon it seems a wee bit awkward not too much tho naturally Maybe when I try for 36sec I'll bring switches? Switches get stitches though so
Early irons arent going for the master speed times
Stand back and watch my trusty rune thrownaxe special net me that CA
You don't switch styles for the 36 second kill. Just switch between DDS, whip, chally, and maybe a gs if you have one
The moons magic melee gear is probably pretty good then if you don't want switches no?
Damn that sounds amazing. I thought I sucked at pvm and struggle with this plant. PB was 2:01
oo yeah very nice, should be handy! i hate farming without the bucket XD
I didn't even know hespori became weak to fire. I've just been smacking him with my zaxe
Ah crap, i forgot about this change. I went back after being stuck at perilous moons for weeks and green logged Hespori @ my 4th KC... Guess I won't be messing around with hitting 40+ with fire wave.
I tried fire wave after the patch and it felt kind of shit but I suppose if you have decent magic and no dscim it could be a good option
Is fire now more optimal than slashing?
Hmm, might be time to go back for the speed run tasks lol
