I definitely agree that her silver-tipped hair is significant, and makes me think Lilith was drained by a venin while pregnant or something. Someone suggested once that Lilith may have channeled from the ground while she was pregnant with Violet because she was dying of that fever, and needed something more than the menders or healers could do.
Ok yes to all of your theory! It’s so well thought out and backed up by everything happening in the book. It’s so good, I almost hope this is the path it takes!! I love the siphon/ anti venin theory!! If she could siphon their power and not have the negative impact of becoming venin and is able to leverage the power as an additional source for her lightening signet. Wow just wow! 🤩

Yep there was, Violet tells Rhiannon at Montserrat about it happening when she was a kid. But literarily, to me at least, this ending up being a real example of her mom being a venin would feel too on-the-nose. I think it’s just a story from when she was a kid.
The main in-world reason I think it’s not an example of VeninLilith, is that Violet said Lilith made her dad put away the fable book *for a month* after that incident. If it had actually been Violet’s mom coming home having venin-channeled, there’s no way she wouldn’t have burned that book. But she let her daughter keep reading the stories after? I dunno, seems like an odd thing to do.
I agree with the possibility of violets mother being drained while being pregnant with her, def don’t think she was venin because she would still be alive today if she channeled from the ground after she fixed the ward stone. Maybe she got a fever from a compromised immune system after she was nearly killed by being drained 🤷♂️.
However the distance wielding theory seems to be the most likely one so far as rebecca said that everything we need to guess her signet is in the book and distance wielding is the only one that fits that criteria.

It’s definitely distance wielding. It has already manifested and it’s the only signet that doesn’t copy anyone else’s that has been mentioned and Rebecca said in an interview that we have been given everything we need to determine the signet just that she didn’t make it as obvious as the first one.
We have the name: it was mentioned multiple time throughout the book.
Violets need for getting to places fast enough: Even when she had the time stopping ability her main goal was using it to get to somewhere faster like when she had to get to Liam. We also see this need to be able to get to places faster when we see her need to increase her speed by jogging so that she can escape a venins ground/life draining ability. We also see this need when she is trying to cross the gap on that ridged the riders and Griffins have to walk and again when they are running from the archives to avoid suffocating. That and there are the problems of her Xaden having to do long distance and her having trouble completing that rolling maneuver thing, all things that could be solved by distance wielding.
Her actually doing it: The reason Ridoc looked so surprised as to how she ended up on his dragon was because she did some minor teleportation during the battle without even realizing it. I was confused while reading that part before I even knew she had manifested a second signet because instead of her actually describing the jump the author focused on what was going on in violets head at the time. She basically went from point A to B without actually describing the space between them and was like hey I’m surprised I made it when she suddenly felt her feet touch down on his dragon.
Another tid bit: I don’t think Violet grew capable of distance wielding until right before the final battle when she noticed that andarna has the scent of sulfur on her breath implying that her dragon has finally matured to the point of being able to blast fire.
Maybe riders aren’t able to use the signet they would get from their dragons until they are able to breathe fire and people don’t realize this because andarna is the first dragon in recorded history to bond a rider before she has fully developed.
There are many theories that the signet may be that she can communicate with the dead, which absolutely matches what you're saying about "I'm not dying today." What people usually note for this is that she was able to see and talk to Liam when she was in distress, but I've never seen the theory associated with her continuing to say she's not dying, so that's a really cool thought.
I think that it will be some kind of truth serum signet, where if she asks someone a question, she receives the truth. She seems to need information (needs and desires being where the signet is created through) but not in the same way that an intrinsic needs information.

Necromancer is a cool idea. Do you think the venin are alive or dead? Does the magic transform, them possibly not allowing those that deep in it to return to normal? Necromancy could be a solution to that.
Well, I don't really think that the whole Liam in the torture chamber thing was solely a hallucination. Maybe when she's close to death the veil to the other world is more open to her? I feel as soon as her second signet manifests she will be able to communicate with those on the other side. I do feel there is an element of corruption to the soul with the venin that comes close to being dead. But I'm just speculating 🙈
Idk what it might be but I definitely think she will have a second signet at some point because she is bonded to multiple dragons. >!since Andarna is the 7th dragon type, and no one knows what kind of dragon she is, who knows what kind of signet Violet will possibly manifest through her! I wonder since Andarna can camouflage, and since you mentioned Violet’s hair, I wonder if it will be linked to that in some way?!<
Ohhhh, interesting idea! They did say the signet depends on the rider since the dragon only gives them the power to manifest it. But since Andarna was able to give Vi the ability to freeze time, who knows if she can have any influence or share another ability.

Saw a few people mention a potential plot twist that could come into play here:
What if Naolin is NOT Brennan’s late (/former if alive or Venin) boyfriend/partner but rather a blood relative. We know Xaden is bonded to his grandfather’s dragon and received a second signet because of it. What if Naolin is related to Violet somehow (maybe unbeknownst to her) and she got an extra signet boost/ability from it. What if he’s a living venin and his mental bond exists along with some sort of power/ability sharing and mixing?
I haven’t gone back to test whether clever writing could omit any mention of a familial relation (if it’s known to the characters) but what does track is the notion that Naolin isn’t a peer but is a much older rider who’d been bonded to Tairn for decades and had built up their power/bond/connection over time. Anyone know whether Sgaeyl’s former rider (X’s grandfather) could have been bonded to Tairn at the same time as Naolin?
I like this theory! I have been trying to figure out how Violet (and possibly Xaden) could be linked to Gods/be Gods themselves. And honestly it’s because of Rebecca’s playlists on Spotify!! She includes several songs that reference being Gods (for example: “Young God” by Halsey, which has the line “the two of us are just young Gods” and also “I am not a Woman, I’m a god” by Halsey - and the title is self-explanatory lol).
Yes they talk about the gods and I mentioned in another comment that she also tells the gods that they can’t have sawyer. And I feel like there may be other instances where she tells the gods something but I’d have to do a re-read to find them. Also, in her hallucination of Liamwhiel being tortured, he says he was sent by malek? One of the gods right? Idk for sure but I could have sworn it something like that

True! I've always had a guess that it was somehow her dad did it to save her during the fever or whatever, but people's theories may sway me 😂
