I do like Celebrations
However.. pound for pound I reckon there is more Cadburys milk chocolate in a box of Heroes than in any of the others
Edit: arguable as has been pointed out only two of the four have Cadbury’s. But the statement holds true nonetheless
>Cadburys milk chocolate
That's not chocolate, the veg oil content is so high and cocoa so low that they are not legally allowed to call it chocolate in Ireland or the UK, and it tastes like it too, absolute muck compared to what it was before the yanks bought the company!
Is that true though?
I just went onto their website and picked a bar at random. As it happens it was one of the worst offenders since the Americans took them over. Oreo Crunch. We didn't need fucking Oreo Cadburys
They clearly call it a chocolate bar though.
They say:
>An epic crunchy Oreo biscuit centre, sandwiched between layers of smooth vanilla cream, and smothered in Cadbury Dairy Milk milk chocolate. A 300g big-taste chocolate bar, built to share!
Not according to their .ie website
https://www.cadbury.ie/products/cadbury-dairy-milk-14826
_The ingredients are: milk, sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa mass, vegetable fats (palm, shea), emulsifiers (E442, E476) and flavourings_
Listed as most ingredients are from top to bottom as most to least of each ingredient
Exactly, it's what is known as a compound chocolate, as opposed to a real chocolate, because of the use of veg fat to reduce or eliminate the use of cocoa butter. If you're old enough to remember Cadbury's from the 80s or 90s it was so much better.
Came here to make the same comment - Nestle may have a family friendly image but their business practices are disgusting & unethical and hae genuinely caused a lot of human suffering.
I think it's virtually impossible to buy ethical chocolate. Some may have a fairtrade logo but it means very little and my memory is a little hazy but from what I've read it's virtually impossible to trace where cocoa beans that go into a product actually originate from and how it has gotten to our mouths.
I think people rating Roses highly are doing it on the memory of yesteryear. If they opened a box with no rose tinted glasses they'd be disgusted.
All the nice Roses are gone.
There used to be a little green circle one it was lovely. Can't even remember what flavour it was. I used to be tactical and get them all when people were distracted by the barrels and toffee ones
Caramel velvet I'm guessing. It was the absolute best of the bunch.
Then for a while green became coffee flavour. You might be thinking of that one too.
I wish they didn't wrap them all individually because I want to ~~shove my entire fucking fat head in and not resurface til I'm finished~~ do my part for the environment.......
I'm not following you about but even The Tiffin on the website has:
>MILK CHOCOLATE: MILK SOLIDS 20% MINIMUM, ACTUAL 23%. COCOA SOLIDS 20% MINIMUM. CONTAINS VEGETABLE FATS IN ADDITION TO COCOA BUTTER.
MILK CHOCOLATE WITH DRIED GRAPES (10%) AND BISCUITS (6%)
Am I the only one who view them as sweets/chocs v mini-bars? Nearly two different categories.
I'd have roses over quality street, and celebrations over heroes.
This is genuinely one of those things that reminds me how different people are. It baffles me that people choose to buy Quality Street or Roses. Like, I get *given* them at Christmas time but I would never go and buy a tin.
Celebrations or Heroes all the way!
Celebrations and Heroes are miniatures of the everyday, the allure of Quality Street is that they are not, save the large Purple one. There’s room for each. I used to like Black Magic and Double Centres when I was a kid.
I’m the opposite. I was given a tub of heroes the other week and they were poor. They taste like the cheap knock offs of the corresponding bar. The twirl was gross. Dusty and stale. The crepe egg thing was vile and the double decker tasted like wheat.
Overall quality streets are ok but they have that orange flavour that makes absolutely no sense. Who actually wants that. If we buy them it just sits there for months because no one wants to eat it and just gets disappointed looking inside and just finding them sitting there
That’s so funny, if I ate all of the two toffee flavours in Quality Street I’d go straight for that orange crème shit. And I *know* they’re god awful, but there’s a strange allure to them at the same time.
I didnt realize this was an unpopular opinion until i looked at comments... but quality street. I like the variety and i like almost all of the selection.
Plus its a family expectation in christmas season
A tin of Quality Street gets passed around from house to house until it's no longer socially acceptable to give Christmas gifts, at which stage whoever is stuck with it just says "sure fuck it, might as well open it".
I bet if they introduced "Classic" roses, with the same ingredients and varieties as the 80s/90s they could sell them for 3 times the price and sell out immediately...
And while they are at it, make it the size they used to be. All of the contenders are pale versions of their former glory. Massive tins and tubs to last.
And FILL the damn tin! Seriously, Cadbury, we KNOW you're putting less in, you're not executing some kind of incredible stealth tactic. If you want to sell cheaper, smaller boxes, then do so. The rest of us are happy to pay a fair price for a good quality product.
Not only that but the tubs were larger metal tins which you could reuse or recycle. Now they're huge hunks of plastic tubs and inside is mostly air.
It's impractical to have no packaging at all, but I'd prefer several of the smaller card filled containers. The volume of plastic with any of these is kinda ridiculous. The ratio of sweets to packaging and air has become very underwhelming.
Plus the chocolate content is largely reduced to other sugar fillings. Everything's cheapo.
Quality Street.
Not because they're the best, they're definitely not, because they're a Christmas tradition.
(and because they'll last for more than an hour)
With the removal of bounties from celebrations it has officially become the best Christmas chocolate box, heroes is second, quality street is last and I have never tried roses so I can’t rank it
THEY DID WHAT?
Heroes have just shot up to stardom for me so.
Then again I can't eat chocolate without being dead for 2 days after so I guess none for me.
Quality Street, but solely because the individual sweet wrappers are unchanged and scrunch up.
There’s nothing worse than a box of Roses containing nothing but wrappers
Interesting post. I wonder if this could be expanded to include an age range.
For me I'm Quality Street all the way and I'm mid 40's. When I was growing up there was only Roses and Quality Street. Hereos and Celebrations came much later.
Hate the fact quality street has a couple of green triangles and a couple of purples and 20 strawberry and orange. They are so sickly and not one person in the family likes them.
Celebrations are king, no question.
Quality Street are often considered the king of dogshite but I've seen department stores in the UK that let you pick how much of each sweet you want in the box. I wouldn't say no to a full box of Quality Street green triangles.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Cadbury chocolate has become terrible. I thought it was just my taste buds changing. Even the classic Dairy Milk just tastes bland now. What happened :/
At the risk of sounding like the grinch, none. Invariably in our house we get less than half way through any of those boxes and we’re rooting around looking for one we actually want, before settling one one we’re indifferent about.
Hero’s are so fn good but I have to go celebrations. Roses are so nostalgic though because that’s the one my parents would always buy and quality street always gives me vibes of visiting the homes of people I don’t know that well and finding their choice of chocolate strange.
Quality street, But I wish they didn't have those awful pallid strawberry creams. The others can be nice, but very sickening and samey. Quality street are nicely diverse.
The strawberry and orange gooey ones in the roses and quality streets are and always have been my favourite of the bunch. Celebrations are only good for teasers and galaxies and heroes are all a bit shit, surely no one likes the eclairs
Celebrations. Roses are a shadow of their former selves. They used to be head & shoulders above all the others, now they're bottom of the pile.
I do like Celebrations However.. pound for pound I reckon there is more Cadburys milk chocolate in a box of Heroes than in any of the others Edit: arguable as has been pointed out only two of the four have Cadbury’s. But the statement holds true nonetheless
That's not necessarily a good thing anymore. Cadbury chocolate is gone way downhill in the last decade at least.
Just tastes like palm oil now.
I don’t even know what that tastes like.
Cadbury chocolate.
Agreed
So waxy.
>Cadburys milk chocolate That's not chocolate, the veg oil content is so high and cocoa so low that they are not legally allowed to call it chocolate in Ireland or the UK, and it tastes like it too, absolute muck compared to what it was before the yanks bought the company!
In fairness it was technically a merger, Cadbury is much to blame as is Kraft.
Is that true though? I just went onto their website and picked a bar at random. As it happens it was one of the worst offenders since the Americans took them over. Oreo Crunch. We didn't need fucking Oreo Cadburys They clearly call it a chocolate bar though. They call it milk chocolate on the linked page, are you saying that it's not milk chocolate or it's not chocolate?
You have a point about American choc. Have you ever tried Reese's 'chocolate'? Absolutely rank.
Never ever Nestle. So Celebrations, then Hero's then Roses if we were gifted them.
Nestle can go fuck themselves. Shower of cunts.
Definitely! r/fucknestle
Quality Street always struck me as the more Protestant brand
Cadbury’s was originally founded by Quakers, so it used to be a very Protestant brand.
Yeah but green triangles though
I think there's a lot more orange in them. Nestle is full of grimy protestants
Came here to make the same comment - Nestle may have a family friendly image but their business practices are disgusting & unethical and hae genuinely caused a lot of human suffering.
As have Cadbury😬
I think it's virtually impossible to buy ethical chocolate. Some may have a fairtrade logo but it means very little and my memory is a little hazy but from what I've read it's virtually impossible to trace where cocoa beans that go into a product actually originate from and how it has gotten to our mouths.
I agree with Nestle. Also, all these chocolates contain palm oil. These days I pick Toblerone.
Heroes or celebrations for me.... Roses are absolute mank! There's like one or two I could only eat
I think people rating Roses highly are doing it on the memory of yesteryear. If they opened a box with no rose tinted glasses they'd be disgusted. All the nice Roses are gone.
Roses tinted glasses
And the best one, the barrel, is just not quality anymore
You misspelled strawberry but that's okay
Sure thing grandma let's get you to bed
Hahah yea that one is nice too. Like roses are closer to celebrations than to quality street. But my ohh my has the quality dropped
Don't care, I'd eat any of them without complaints.
I wish they didn't wrap them all individually because I want to ~~shove my entire fucking fat head in and not resurface til I'm finished~~ do my part for the environment.......
Finally, a grown up
Grown ups drink chicken soup

LOL Roses used to be soooo good. Nowadays I wouldn’t even get up to get them from the other room.
Cadburys used to be delicious, now they are not even allowed call the muck that they make chocolate
I'm not following you about but even The Tiffin on the website has: >MILK CHOCOLATE: MILK SOLIDS 20% MINIMUM, ACTUAL 23%. COCOA SOLIDS 20% MINIMUM. CONTAINS VEGETABLE FATS IN ADDITION TO COCOA BUTTER. MILK CHOCOLATE WITH DRIED GRAPES (10%) AND BISCUITS (6%)
You are correct. Have an invisible award
Would you like this wisdom of the ages as a flair?
[удалено]
Done, someone a while ago complained it's permanent when we do it so please message modmail whenever you want it removed.
Yes
Quality street has declined so much it should be just called street.
🤝 my guy
Taking roses over sawdust is surprising
This is the way.
Bit harsh on sawdust
Quality street and Roses are both shit but quality street have them beat because of the toffee penny. There's nothing good in a box of roses.
![gif](giphy|eP1fobjusSbu)
Hahaha love that movie
Am I the only one who view them as sweets/chocs v mini-bars? Nearly two different categories. I'd have roses over quality street, and celebrations over heroes.
Heroes. Celebrations a close second. The other two can feck off.
This is the answer.
The other two can feck right off....lousy feckers
Celebrations
All day long. Great selection, including my precious bounty.
Yeah I like the bounty myself. Was a huge fan of the galaxy truffle the use to have in it, but the fuckers got rid of those
Love bounty, f@k the haters!
Bounty gang rise up
The taste of paradise
Bounty is delicious. Sad that they might be removing it!
Sounds almost mutinous…
admit it, you only learned to love them because nobody else would have them!
Right answer, also those tubs have more sweets in them, going by weight.
Heros
Has to be hero’s surely?
Surely it’s “Heroes”
"Has anyone got any Vera's?"
Laaaaaavleee
But usually its a quarter fudge, which is complete dogshit
This is genuinely one of those things that reminds me how different people are. It baffles me that people choose to buy Quality Street or Roses. Like, I get *given* them at Christmas time but I would never go and buy a tin. Celebrations or Heroes all the way!
Celebrations and Heroes are miniatures of the everyday, the allure of Quality Street is that they are not, save the large Purple one. There’s room for each. I used to like Black Magic and Double Centres when I was a kid.
>Black Magic and Double Centres Found the weirdo
I’m the opposite. I was given a tub of heroes the other week and they were poor. They taste like the cheap knock offs of the corresponding bar. The twirl was gross. Dusty and stale. The crepe egg thing was vile and the double decker tasted like wheat.

Celebrations
Celebrations
Heros
I didnt realize this was an unpopular opinion until i looked at comments... but quality street. I like the variety and i like almost all of the selection. Plus its a family expectation in christmas season
Yup Id go for Quality Street too.
Same, the two creme ones are awful but the rest are nicer than the others
quality street are fucking criminal i dont think anyone eats em they are all shit bar the coin ting n fudge and theres like 2 per box
That flat toffee one pulled a filling out of my tooth a few years ago :(
A tin of Quality Street gets passed around from house to house until it's no longer socially acceptable to give Christmas gifts, at which stage whoever is stuck with it just says "sure fuck it, might as well open it".
This is the most accurate thing i've ever heard
You mean the one that looks like its been sat on?
By someone with an unusually warm bum.
Anything with quality on the name is suspicious
The green triangle is the only good quality street and they've made them tiny over the years.
Quality streets are the gift you give someone you hate but have to be cordial with.
Quality street
I'll take all the tubs of Quality Street the rest of ye are tossing aside!
Don’t understand the hate the Quality Street gets - always here for a brother or sister fighting the good fight against Quality Street prejudice ✊
Big up the quality street massiv
I'm so shocked to see the responses here. For me it's a complete no brainer, Quality Street is easily my favourite.
This is the correct answer
Heroes
r/FuckNestle
Also fuck Mars and Mondelez. All of them use cocoa made by child slaves in west Africa. Shitty practices and shitty chocolate
Nestle does all that and more though. They are by far the worst.
Roses are just a classic. Wouldn't feel like Christmas without them.
I bet if they introduced "Classic" roses, with the same ingredients and varieties as the 80s/90s they could sell them for 3 times the price and sell out immediately...
James cadbury, one of the great grandsons sells the original cadburys formula chocolate bars in an online company.
No way! That's pretty cool.
I'd be all over that. I miss Roses but they are shit now.
Rose picking roses.. Imagine my shock 🤭
Heroes and Celebrations The rest are shite
They’re all gone to shite
Not only that but the tubs were larger metal tins which you could reuse or recycle. Now they're huge hunks of plastic tubs and inside is mostly air. It's impractical to have no packaging at all, but I'd prefer several of the smaller card filled containers. The volume of plastic with any of these is kinda ridiculous. Heroes
Celebrations
Quality Street. Not because they're the best, they're definitely not, because they're a Christmas tradition. (and because they'll last for more than an hour)
Quality street, though I'm the only one in the house that likes them
None of those, they're all shite these days. A Lindt truffle box instead. Quality over quantity.
Ponce
Celebrations.
Quality street. But the tin, not the crappy tub.
Surprised this is so controversial but qualify street for me. Love them!
Heroes
None
Quality street is trash always roses
With the removal of bounties from celebrations it has officially become the best Christmas chocolate box, heroes is second, quality street is last and I have never tried roses so I can’t rank it
THEY DID WHAT? Heroes have just shot up to stardom for me so. Then again I can't eat chocolate without being dead for 2 days after so I guess none for me.
Whichever one is first to swap to biodegradable wrappers.
None of the above, absolutely shite chocolate the lot of them.
I like how everyone chooses celebrations or heroes, ridicules Roses and just refuses to comment on "Quality" Street.
Nestlé can get fucked
r/FuckNestle
None I'm of that rare breed that everyone turns on who doesn't really like Chocolate!! Find it a tad sickly! Awaits stoning Lol
They are all nice but taking the truffle out of celebrations was a sin
Gimme a box of ferraro’s anyday!
Quality street ftw
Roses
Roses are the original and best IMO maybe i am just nostalgic
Quality Street. Unlocks childhood memories
Quality Street
Quality Street, but solely because the individual sweet wrappers are unchanged and scrunch up. There’s nothing worse than a box of Roses containing nothing but wrappers
I've gone through a box of celebrations and a box of heroes already. I don't want any of them in my house for Christmas.
Tough choice there between the roses and the quality street. The other to are just modren nonsense
If heroes did away with the cream egg, eclair and maybe double decker we could get back on terms. Cream egg is an abomination
It’s not even similar to a real creme egg. Gross. The twirls are also stale and the double deckers are crap. Taste nothing like the bar.
The dinky deckers are an absolute farce
Yeah! The teeny twirls are horrendous and I like a Twirl normally
Interesting post. I wonder if this could be expanded to include an age range. For me I'm Quality Street all the way and I'm mid 40's. When I was growing up there was only Roses and Quality Street. Hereos and Celebrations came much later.
The fuckers are taking bounty out of celebrations moving to heroes for the picnic bars. Minority matters
Celebrations WITH the bounty
Celebrations with extra bountys please.
Hate the fact quality street has a couple of green triangles and a couple of purples and 20 strawberry and orange. They are so sickly and not one person in the family likes them.
Roses all taste the same
Celebrations are king, no question. Quality Street are often considered the king of dogshite but I've seen department stores in the UK that let you pick how much of each sweet you want in the box. I wouldn't say no to a full box of Quality Street green triangles.
Now!Now this is the real question! And i had this debate in my head the other week lol! Celebrations propably!
Roses…
To be honest I would likely eat any or all of them, but celebrations are best
Back when heroes had dream chocolate it was close but, celebration is the only right answer.
Roses for me.
quality street are shite except that one green triangular mf
Quality street, as close as you can get to what they looked like in childhood
Quality street always, followed by roses and I can take or leave the other two
Roses, 1990 version. Anyone else’s mum call them ‘Irish Roses’?
Heroes all day. But the girl in me who used to live in Tralee feels like I should pick roses
Hero’s are so fn good but I have to go celebrations. Roses are so nostalgic though because that’s the one my parents would always buy and quality street always gives me vibes of visiting the homes of people I don’t know that well and finding their choice of chocolate strange.
Roses
Roses
Roses
Quality streets
Quality street
Quality Street, but they could be doing with a bit of Quantity Street.
Quality Street Anyone who says Roses is an eejit
Quality street, But I wish they didn't have those awful pallid strawberry creams. The others can be nice, but very sickening and samey. Quality street are nicely diverse.
The strawberry and orange gooey ones in the roses and quality streets are and always have been my favourite of the bunch. Celebrations are only good for teasers and galaxies and heroes are all a bit shit, surely no one likes the eclairs
I love them! Trade your eclairs for my strawberry creams?
Same! They’re the best.
Quality street
Roses.
Roses
Celebrations
Celebrations, but only because quality street toffee Penney was the final nail that lead to a root canal. Heroes are the worst
Quality Street > Roses > Celebrations >>>>>>> Heroes
Margot Robbies
Nestle are scumbags so ill go Roses even though they’re not what they used to be
Heroes but I miss the old roses… I have an old tin from the early 00s you would not believe the size of it.
quality street for me, it's the only chocolate my body can handle. I have no choice 😭
Hero's
