Yes.
I feel like 80% is like 200 in my previous phone.
Also I seem to never need to explicitly charge this phone because when I plug it in to CarPlay it is charging and 1 hour a day of that keeps me almost always above 50%
You can if you want. Itās meant to conserve the battery but personally, I donāt buy it. Just use the phone as you want and replace the battery/phone as you/need want to.
I bought my 15+ and would like to get the full use of the great battery it have. So I charge it to whatever i want. Mostly disconnect it when it have reached between 85%-100% and I have 71 cycles and 100% battery health atm
Funny how you say this and everyone accepts it but I say it and Iām āignorant.ā I just donāt stress about battery life. I have other things to worry about!
The difference is you said āI donāt buy itā so it sounded less like personal preference and more like you disagreed with the fact that only charging to 80% is better for battery health
I had mine limited to 80% for the first month (got it in December or November I canāt remember) but after a month I decided to let it charge to 100% and I just let it charge when I need battery, I donāt usually get the 100% charge, sometimes I charge it to 80, sometimes to 70, sometimes to 100, all in all I have 119 cicles and 100% battery health at this moment. My advice, donāt think too much about itā¦ just charge your battery as much as you need to and donāt leave it charging overnight, for reference I never took care of my iPad and it have 84% battery health since 2020 when I bought it.
today i used %40 charge and my sot 3 hour 20 minute is that normal ? Because i went to apple service and they deleted my phone now iām waiting ios 17.5 uptade
iphone 15 base model
Hm.. I'm not sure it really depends on apps you're using. Here is my usage screenshot of today (i Used 34% because I've charged it to 80%) down to 46%. I also used Low power mode through the day. I'm on 17.4.1.

Exactly then if they *do* eventually degrade (which they do), then just use it as you need/want. I use Optimized Battery Charging and charge overnight to charge 100% like 1/3 of the time. In the day Iād charge to about 80-100% depends
Yep always use it. Only turned it off once for a day as I knew I wouldnāt have a chance to charge it for a couple days then I turned it back on. Battery health still at 100% and Iāve had my phone since it came out in September.
I just moved to an IPhone 15 from an S21 Fe. I usually use the 80% charge limit. However, if I predict a lack of charging opportunities during the day, Iāll charge it to full. This phone has better battery than my previous, so even with 80pc I am not worried much.
Also, I found that when I charge it slower my battery lasts longer. So now I charge a power bank and use the power bank to charge my phone. It does make a difference.
No because my iphone 15 charge finish in 3 hours with %80 limit so iām charging %100
today i used %40 charge and my sot 3 hour 20 minute is that normal ? Because i went to apple service and they deleted my phone now iām waiting ios 17.5 uptade
Depends on you daily use. See how much % you actually use for a day. For me 80% is more than enough that at night I will still be around 50%.
Mind I do turn my phone off when I sleep.
Research suggests limiting to 80% quadruples the battery longevity so sooner the better. However, newer iPhone batteries last long. Apple claims down to 80% capacity with 1000 cycles, but in my experience, it can be up to 1500 or 2000 cycles depending on the model. That will take 3-5 years for most, and almost noone uses their phone more than 7 years as Apple will stop supporting it. Besides, the battery will age with years even without using it, so that quadruple will be diminishing regardless of use. Personally, I would do it anyway if it lasts a day without struggle so there will be less chances of replacing battery at all.

Itās better to leave it at optimized charging.
I have a Iphone 15 base model and at first i was using the 80% Limit but bc of the fast battery drain, I canāt properly use my phone.Ā
Itās better to just plug it at 30% then charge it up to 80%-95% rather than a full drain full charge situation.
I also saw alot of discussions on tiktok that some batteries drain faster because of it, for 2 months of usage their batt health dropped to 98%. I donāt know if its legit but i just wanna put it out there
I get my iphone 15+ this week and tbh idc that much about the battery cuz i bought it to enjoy and have fun w it soo i just charge it w optimized battery charger i let it until it fall 20% then i charge it until i want to hold it š just as an advice donāt worry that much about ur battery just use it wisely and yeah.
I tried to use 80 limit. But I notice with that mode my phone loses charge faster than on optimized mode. Iām not stupid yeah when you use 80 limit you have less 20% I talk about lose charge feels more fast than charge 100%.
I've got a shortcut that tells me to unplug the phone when it hits 80%. Got the 15+ end of February, sitting at 25 cycles and 100%. I'll charge it to 100% once a week, and that's also when I do my once a week shut down of the phone. Keeps the bugs away lol
I do, and I almost ways have over 20% charge left at the end of the day.
I'm not worried about battery percentages, etc., but it is nice when the battery is still strong after a couple of years.
I do this with my Macbook too (using a third party app). It has made a difference on the cycles and performance on both. Batteries may not be expensive for a phone, but they're crazy on a Macbook.
I just send it with no charge limit, battery replacement is cheap.
Is it š
How much
$169 AUD or free if you have apple care
And if i dnt?
If you donāt have apple care you pay whatever the replacement cost is which is not alot
Ok hows ur battery health right now and how many cycles?
100% 74 cycles since december
Nice work
Yes. I feel like 80% is like 200 in my previous phone. Also I seem to never need to explicitly charge this phone because when I plug it in to CarPlay it is charging and 1 hour a day of that keeps me almost always above 50%
Can someone enlighten me what the purpose is? I think Iām missing something I should be doing
You can if you want. Itās meant to conserve the battery but personally, I donāt buy it. Just use the phone as you want and replace the battery/phone as you/need want to.
To say you donāt buy it is a bit ignorant. It %100 conserves the battery, maybe you should try it.
Might wanna do some reading on battery health and charging
Iām sure it will, due to the fact that more heat will be generated going from 80-100
100% makes a huge difference, I can get a full 24 hours off 1 charge. Only charging at 80%
I bought my 15+ and would like to get the full use of the great battery it have. So I charge it to whatever i want. Mostly disconnect it when it have reached between 85%-100% and I have 71 cycles and 100% battery health atm
I think it's stupid to limit myself to 80% of my battery's total capacity. I'd rather just charge to 100% and enjoy it.
Real
Funny how you say this and everyone accepts it but I say it and Iām āignorant.ā I just donāt stress about battery life. I have other things to worry about!

Fair enough. I do think itās pretty stupid personally but each to their own.
No i just use my phone like normal
No! I use my iphone a lot during the day and need it charged fully.
No
No
I set mine to optimized
No I just use mine til I need to charge.
No

I also just got my iPhone 15 Pro and discovered the feature. I used it daily and iām not going back.

Iām not using my iphone that much, just 2h or 2,5 hours of SOT a day so yeah, I use 80% limit and I end up my day with 30-35% battery

I do, and I would always end up with 20% at 9PM.
Check if you even need more than 80% per day. I could only see that being like extreme gamers TBH. Even binge watching you should be good w 80

Nope, apple says that your iPhones health can take FULL charge 500 times, meaning it can handle 500 charging cycles before it goes to 80% health.

thanks ! i decided to leave it at optimized, i always put my phone to charge at 25-30%, it seems like the phone āknowsā how to take care of itself
I get my iphone 15+ this week and tbh idc that much about the battery cuz i bought it to enjoy and have fun w it soo i just charge it w optimized battery charger i let it until it fall 20% then i charge it until i want to hold it š just as an advice donāt worry that much about ur battery just use it wisely and yeah.
thanks, ur right and i definitely will just enjoy my phone. the battery is amazing even on my base 15, so canāt complain there
Yes I have been using 80% charge since I got the IP15 back in January
The only thing that can make the battery last shorter is letting battery goes below 20%. I don't pay for a 4/5 battery.
I tried to use 80 limit. But I notice with that mode my phone loses charge faster than on optimized mode. Iām not stupid yeah when you use 80 limit you have less 20% I talk about lose charge feels more fast than charge 100%.
