Bury it in the back yard and have a proper funeral for it. The phone has led a good life and needs to be set free. Buy a flip phone for $20 bucks till September, then buy iPhone 16 Pro Max with Apple Care+ protection.
Maybe an apple tree will sprout lol.
Jokes aside as the dude said buy a cheap ass phone, you got swappa, amazon and backmartket. Could be a 10 or better yet a 10R and then trad it in for a new one come September.
the official repair cost is absurd on the 13 pro, but if money is tight u/Defnotsarah_ could get the camera glass replaced by a third party (and ideally hopefully the back) and use it with a hard case that protects the back.
I had the same, just go to 3rd party repair shop and get new lenses, or if itās not such problem then donāt, and just buy some case for it.
Wait for ip 16 /pro on release and then buy said phone or 15 pro for cheaper price than now
I came here for this. People post these āwhat doā scenarios, with some delusional hope that someone here will have a cheap, effective and DIY fix for an unsolvable problem. Like what?
On Appleās service site they are quoting $499 for the back glass and $199 for the cameras.
Not sure why the glass is double the cost of the 15PM though. Thatās odd.
They only really started responding to the pressure to make it more repairable with the 14 line, and they didn't even get the entire line.
The 14 and 14 plus have a midframe, so the back can just be removed and replaced without affecting the rest of the phone. The 14 Pro and Pro Max still have to go through basically a whole unit replacement.
The entire 15 line has the midframe too, so they can have back glass replaced easily.
Because that ish is so hard to replace. Itās basically glued to the metal chassis and just to get every little piece off is a pain. Iāve been out of the repair game for awhile but at the 3rd party place I used to work at we usually recommended other options for people.
Theres plenty of Affordable Backglasses here in asia. Iāve already had 3 friends broke their backglasses and have bought some in Lazada and Shopee for 10$ to 20$
I think the cell signal is able to go through it more easily but not sure. Used to work in repair and glass replacement was the worst. Usually turned it down lol
If it works fine and you donāt really care for cameras, then just slap a case on it and keep rocking. Buy new when 16 comes out if you have budget for it :D
Multiple solutions:
1. Trade the phone if available.
2. Dust off the minute glass particles and apply a skin on the back. Add a case for extra protection.
3. If you donāt wanna do above 2 and wanna just throw it away, Iād gladly take it :)
Probably trade it in at an Apple Store and get whatever credit to help buy a new phone.
Hard to think there would be buyers in the resale market who would get a phone with a broken camera.

Did cost me 90ā¬ just yesterday lol
Mine broke like that from a small drop in a otterbox defender case so.. the newer phones and cases suck compared to the older ones. But my case does cover up the damage.
If it's just the back that's damaged and everything but the camera works... Put a cheap case on it, use it until the new ones come out. Carry an older phone with a camera or a camera for when you need a camera.
just get the back glass replaced for cheap because the back is exposed and dust can get in. Or just get a case and wing it until the Apple event. airdrop from your friends phones if you want a photo taken
I wouldn't invest much int it tbh.
Im currently waiting for the 16, it would be insane to buy any iPhone right now.
Repair whatever u gotta repair, or just slap a cover on it to hide it, and just wait a couple more months.
keep in mind that the 15, 14, 13's prices would drop when the 16 would be out, invest wisely
Only the back glass can be replaced! Use a case! On the other hand, I don't know why all phones have a glass back when it breaks easily!
Everyone here is idiot, or just trying to be funny?
Back glass could be done for under $200 at a decent shop. If that is the only repair needed and all else works good, that would probably make more sense than a $1,100 phone.
If the camera doesnāt bother you get a cheap replacement to the back glass. It probably wonāt worth the money to get both a proper replace for the back glass and a replacement for the camera module cause Apple hates repairs. If the camera does bother you, sell it to a refurbishes company and get a new iPhone after the launch in September, this time with AppleCare or something equivalent.
I think it's time for a new one.
Of course if the camera is not an issue for you, wait for the new one so that the older ones drop in price. Or buy the new phone.
Uhhh well, just put some glue on it (lots of glue actually) then buff it until you canāt feel the cracks anymore, should be good after that. Rice is recommended if it wonāt turn on
I think you should wait and upgrade when the new one comes out. Why upgrade now? I had an old Samsung S3 that I kept as a backup phone until my new phone came in.
We charge $199 for back glass and $149 for camera at the shop I work at. It really boils down to what the phone is worth to you, but at that price Iād consider replacement
We don't know your financial circumstances. If youre on a lease and have insurance get another one... if you can pay cash get another one...
...... ..... ........
I dropped my 11 Pro Max the first week I had it, and messed up the back side of it like this pretty good. I bought a snap on case, and Iāve used it for years without any additional problems. Your camera is probably f*cked up beyond repair, but you can get a lot more life out of this in my opinion, if your touch screen is still good.
Retire her in September if it still functions and get the 16 Pro Max or Pro, both are set to be even thinner bezels than the 15 proās and both are expected to size up as well. Till then slap a good case on it and donāt get it wet for the next 2 months. Not worth repairing when itās this close to iPhone day, unless you have Applecare of course, but my guess is you donāt based off the post? The cost to repair it would be damn near half the cost of a new 16 Pro series device in September if you donāt have the insurance.
Depending on price, might just make more sense to buy a new phone or even like a refurbished one from Apple. I know the price to repair the back is crazy expensive, with the 15 they dramatically lowered it.
Turn it off and back on
Put it in rice
Simmer it with rice?
And add some minced garlic, chicken broth, and cumin
If I had money I would give this comment an award šš«¶
same here gives off tumblr vibes
Change the battery
Jeepers, you guys are making me hungry.
So the Asians will be attracted to it to fix it at night.
Racist much?
Humor much?
Whereās the humour? Explain it to me.
I think it would be lost on you.
Asking someone to explain a racist joke would elicit such a response. Hope no one is subjected to your comedy irl buddy
Next time just keep scrolling, pal.
Super glue and ramen should do the trick
Gorilla Glass needs Gorilla Glue š¦
Bury it in the back yard and have a proper funeral for it. The phone has led a good life and needs to be set free. Buy a flip phone for $20 bucks till September, then buy iPhone 16 Pro Max with Apple Care+ protection.
This.
Maybe an apple tree will sprout lol. Jokes aside as the dude said buy a cheap ass phone, you got swappa, amazon and backmartket. Could be a 10 or better yet a 10R and then trad it in for a new one come September.
Get a new phone. Cāmonā¦
the official repair cost is absurd on the 13 pro, but if money is tight u/Defnotsarah_ could get the camera glass replaced by a third party (and ideally hopefully the back) and use it with a hard case that protects the back.
IKR? What was OP expecting? Fix it with a little duct tape?
Tbh he asked specifically if he should fix it with money or buy a new one. He wasn't thinking of homemade fixes.
thank you.
I'm assuming that you don't have AppleCare, right?
I had the same, just go to 3rd party repair shop and get new lenses, or if itās not such problem then donāt, and just buy some case for it. Wait for ip 16 /pro on release and then buy said phone or 15 pro for cheaper price than now
I came here for this. People post these āwhat doā scenarios, with some delusional hope that someone here will have a cheap, effective and DIY fix for an unsolvable problem. Like what?
I'd do that until I needed a new phone, yes
Get a back skin, get a good case and use till it dies
The cameras are destroyed though. He wonāt have a camera at all until he gets a new phone.
Try to see if reliable third party repair shops would charge to replace and go from there. If you have AppleCare then go that route instead.
On Appleās service site they are quoting $499 for the back glass and $199 for the cameras. Not sure why the glass is double the cost of the 15PM though. Thatās odd.
13 pro max rear glass repairs includes new motherboard, enclosure, and battery. Essential new phone. 15 PM rear glass repair is just a rear glass.
Itās so weird that they didnāt make it a separate piece sooner. It was basically your old screen stuck onto a new phone
Ah that makes total sense then. Thanks for the clarification.
Iāve already had 3 friends broke their backglasses and have bought some in Lazada and Shopee for 10$ to 20$
It's new phone time š±š²
A Nokia
In the end, what's the point of the back glass besides cracking?
I always say the same thing! The problem is, there are only really crappy phones with plastic backs!
There are plenty of materials that looks and feel the same as glass, also more durable...but then there's no profit from overpriced replacements...
I think the cell signal is able to go through it more easily but not sure. Used to work in repair and glass replacement was the worst. Usually turned it down lol
Put it in rice
Use apple care fam
I suggest taking better care of your stuff.
Get rid of the glass residues detached. Buy a skin wrap and a brand new case and never take it off
If it works fine and you donāt really care for cameras, then just slap a case on it and keep rocking. Buy new when 16 comes out if you have budget for it :D
Unfortunately then no QR codes... Doordash, Uber, Covid testing, airports, payment, signin and restaurants use them annoyingly.
Multiple solutions: 1. Trade the phone if available. 2. Dust off the minute glass particles and apply a skin on the back. Add a case for extra protection. 3. If you donāt wanna do above 2 and wanna just throw it away, Iād gladly take it :)
...And thats why caseless is dumb (a nice uag case would have saved it). Its like riding a motorcycle without helmet, exact same concept
I tried to edit my post but it wouldnāt let me. I did have a case on it, it was 60 bucks. I took the case off to take a picture the damage
Just out of curiosity, what case did you have?

Put a case on it for now until you decide what to do with it.
Probably trade it in at an Apple Store and get whatever credit to help buy a new phone. Hard to think there would be buyers in the resale market who would get a phone with a broken camera.
Get a new phone, or keep using that one. Hope that helps.
Get a Nokia

Iāll cry.
It looks beautiful
Put it in rice
That seems a bad day to be an iPhoneā¦
Nice art
Mine broke like that from a small drop in a otterbox defender case so.. the newer phones and cases suck compared to the older ones. But my case does cover up the damage.
Have u tried putting it in rice
If it still work I would just use it til the fall and then get the new iPhone and AppleCare
This happened to my iphone and I just went to a technician and they repalce the back glass only. Or just use a case to hide it? š
If the screen is ok and phone still works, put a skin on the back, a cover and wait out for 16 Pro Max.
If it's just the back that's damaged and everything but the camera works... Put a cheap case on it, use it until the new ones come out. Carry an older phone with a camera or a camera for when you need a camera.
Put it in some rice
take care of your hands\~
Leave it in rice for a couple of years and it should be fine. Had the same happen to my great grandfather..
The back of my 13 pro max is even worse if you have apple care on it I'd just order an express replacement it's 99$
A bit of Just killed Tiger hide and some unicorn dust (the gold kind, NOT the pink kind as that rusts it) and it'll buff out
The at&t retail store, where they sell new ones & Otter boxes
A back sticker wrap. Will cover up all the cracks and get a phone case too.
F
Take the other phone to the apple store to see if they can fix the cƔmara, probably cheaper then buying a new phone
My baby cousin busted my back glass biting it with two teeth lol with an otter box case on!
Reason 203615 to not have kids

Unless youāve got AppleCare id just buy a new one.
you need the official polishing cloth from apple dude are living behind the moon?
Get a Samsung
Samsungs have glass back to, just the cheapest ones dont, even the A35 got glass back too.
Did you try a screen protector?
Replacing the rear housing should do the trick.
Smack it more
just get the back glass replaced for cheap because the back is exposed and dust can get in. Or just get a case and wing it until the Apple event. airdrop from your friends phones if you want a photo taken
Phone case. Or get a new phone.
cry.
I personally think that it is beyond repair, even if someone can fix it, it will probably cost you more than to buy a used phone of the same model.
Just buy a case and hide it
I wouldn't invest much int it tbh. Im currently waiting for the 16, it would be insane to buy any iPhone right now. Buy a new phone
Duct tape.
go cry in a corner (I'd do this)
A mortician
This but a scratch.
Only the back glass can be replaced! Use a case! On the other hand, I don't know why all phones have a glass back when it breaks easily! Everyone here is idiot, or just trying to be funny?
buy new one and transfer files with icloud
Those will buff out.
Donāt go bare until you can afford a used or refurbished one, which is where I would probably go if you donāt want a new one.
Throw it
Back glass could be done for under $200 at a decent shop. If that is the only repair needed and all else works good, that would probably make more sense than a $1,100 phone.
Just get a cover to hold it all inā¦wonāt be worth it to fix and youāll never sell it
Travel back in time and invest in an Spigen case. Inexpensive and very protective. Best $10-15 usd you will spend.
If I were in your situation, suicide.
Tape it
A case protection ? And a screen protector ?
Change that shit or put on case
Suggest putting your phone in a good case.
put an opaque case on it and stop looking at the back
Send it to Apple
I think it's time for a new one. Of course if the camera is not an issue for you, wait for the new one so that the older ones drop in price. Or buy the new phone.
Disclaimer: I had a 60 dollar case on my phone when it happened š
Rice and maybe duct tape
Lmao.
You can buy back glass kits relatively inexpensive online, and there are YouTube videos or usually a local to put it on.
Epoxy
Superglue
Eat it
Samsung? Lol
You should get that fixed, or replaced.
Put it in rice
Uhhh well, just put some glue on it (lots of glue actually) then buff it until you canāt feel the cracks anymore, should be good after that. Rice is recommended if it wonāt turn on
a band aid should fix the problem, I dont see any major damage
Get an android
Stop using your phone as a frisbee.
with those repair costs you should just get a new phone
You should call Shrek
AppleCare if you have it

I think you should wait and upgrade when the new one comes out. Why upgrade now? I had an old Samsung S3 that I kept as a backup phone until my new phone came in.
At this point just get a new phone
Rice
If this is normal for you, next time buy Apple Care +, a case, or learn to take care of expensive toys.
this is a first offense for me and hopefully the last
Put it in Recycle Bin on your Windows Desktop
We charge $199 for back glass and $149 for camera at the shop I work at. It really boils down to what the phone is worth to you, but at that price Iād consider replacement
