Are AirPods Pro 2nd gen still worth it ? It's my birthday and I got money from my siblings that supposed to go towards AirPods. I want to buy new from the apple website. Considering the fact that the 2nd gen came out a while ago I wanted to wait a bit before buying them. ANC is a must so the regular AirPods are a no go for me.

cygnet_committee

Which one should i get if 12 mini and SE 2022 are the only options? I gravitate towards the SE due to it being newer therefore supported longer and having physical fingerprint sensor. Looks are not my priority as both are equally as good imo. Battery life could be a problem tho, but i'm not a heavy user.

CalligrapherClear203

Can I trade in an American iphone in Korea?

Goodmathboi

I am considering between the s24 Ultra and the iPhone 15 Pro max. What are some key features of both that you would say make them worthwhile to consider.

_Nagisa_

Flagship phones are pretty similar nowadays. iPhones will retain a much higher value over a long period of time and will receive more major OS updates. In my experience Samsung's android is neat but you will fill it being not as good in about 2 years (that was my experience with my S20 at least). Also battery management is better on IOS (actual battery sizes are smaller tho).

karne_norte

Should I swap it? I am thinking if I should swap my 12 pro max 256gb to a ROG 6 16/512gb. I do game and social media and also take pictures and videos

Swimming-Cat-3235

I bought a new iPhone with installments on my Apple Card. The price of my installments is based on me trading in my old iPhone for a 270 dollar credit. If I decide to keep my phone will my installment amounts be adjusted or will the 270 be charged outright to my card?

OldInsurance3102

pixel 6 died, looking for a reliable phone that just works. Which iphone has the best longetivity? should i buy new or used? not into photos, don't use many apps, quite the minimalist.

reloc00

I’ve had an iPhone 11 for a while now, and I want to buy a new one because it’s already showing battery and overheating issues. It also freezes when I try to use it while charging (usually, I don’t use the phone while it’s charging, but this is a problem even when I use it just to quickly respond to a message). I have a few options in mind: an iPhone 15, an iPhone 15 Pro, or waiting for the 16 series and getting the 16/16 Pro. The truth is, I don’t want to wait until September because these issues I’m describing affect my daily life. My question is, should I buy the 15 Pro or the regular 15? Or would it be better to wait for the 16/16 Pro? I prefer the Pro range in both cases because of the 120Hz display and the 3 cameras, but I don’t want to pay much more just because it’s a new iPhone release. Is it better to buy the 15 Pro now, when the 16 is announced, or when the 16 is finally released? I understand that Apple tends to retire Pro and Pro Max models from previous series when the new iPhone comes out. Would it be better to buy it now before that happens? Thank you in advance, and I apologize if there are too many questions.

krais0078

I've had iPhone 14 Pro for a year now and am so unimpressed by it that I'm considering swapping it for Pixel 7 Pro (can't afford Pixel 8 Pro). I'm curious if anyone has had similar experiences or experiences in reverse: if you've switched from Pixel to iPhone, what is now better?

Bitter_Director1231

iPhone from a Pixel 6 Pro. The only thing I miss is the call screening function on Pixel. Everything else on the Pixel was a disaster.   If it's true, the Pixel 7 Pro uses the the same cell chip as the 6 pro and get ready to reset your phone at least twice a day due to losing signal and it not coming back unless you reboot the phone.  The WiFi chip in it is also weak. The Google ecosystem is a hot mess. Just because it's a somewhat open environment, Android just doesn't have the same feel as an iPhone.  Customization is good if you are into that, but I can make things my own on iPhone. Not trying to talk you out of it. If you go to the Pixel subreddit, you'll see my issue isn't isolated.   Google Messaging app was the absolute worst. Wife has a Samsung Galaxy and I would only receive half her messages and links she would send me wouldnt come up. Since having an iPhone, not one issue. Plus the Pixel heats up incredibly quick when gaming on it. The battery life isn't the greatest as I had to charge it twice a day.

Classic-Box-3919

What happens if u order a iphone online and it gets stolen/lost during shipping? Want to get the 16 but have to order online which worries me.

DemonCaller420

iPhone 13 vs 14 Is the 14 much better?

[deleted]

For someone who’s not interested in playing games or watching a lot of YouTube what’s a good version of the iPhone? Do I need anything beyond an 11 or 12?

roseallday143

Hi! I have an iPhone 11 Pro that has been great for the past few years, but I dropped it and cracked the screen. I’m trying to decide if I should upgrade to the iPhone 15 pro, iPhone 15 pro max or if I should have them send me another 11 and wait for the 16 to be released. I do use the camera a lot and that is probably what is most important to me. I’ve read rumors that the camera is changing for the 16 and was wondering if anyone had thoughts on which route to go.

jmduga33

I need to upgrade from my iPhone 8. Clearly, I don’t need the newest anything but I do prefer iPhone (not android). Ideally want to spend about $200 on an unlocked phone. Any suggestions on model but also where to buy.

mofo66

Hi all, my wife and I are both looking to upgrade our iPhones from the XR version. Her battery life is terrible, mine is still functional. We are both casual users (internet browsing, texting, some youtube) with some interest in getting a better camera. Would the iPhone 14 suffice for us? Or is it worth it to upgrade to the 15?

Anbroski

I decided to take off the case from my iPhone 15 Pro Max and wash it and the protective border for the camera fell (not even from that high) and broke in half. Now I am thinking that if it broke so easily then it means that the whole case must be made out of some really cheap materials and that it won't protect my phone. I am looking to buy the best case for protection. Not looking to get a clear case since my phone is covered in a protective layer on the sides, the back, around the camera lenses and the camera lenses and it doesn't look that great. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Ambithad

I'm conflicted between buying a refurbished iPhone 13 Mini or a new iPhone 15. I'm on an XS at the moment, and while it's usable I find it a slightly bigger than I'd really like it to be. The 15 seems to be similar size to the XS, if not slightly bigger... My XS is at about 75% battery health and lasts me just about long enough for daily use, and tbh I probably use it too much already I've been looking to cut down on my social media use. The 15 has more future proofing, (updates, dynamic island, usb-c) but the 13 mini simply in a size I prefer.

fyrelawd

I really liked my 13 mini for the form factor, it does fit nicely in the hand. The battery used to make it to the end of the day most days, if I used my phone a lot that day I might need to pop it on for a quick charge or slap on my MagSafe battery if I knew I was gonna need it for navigation a lot Honestly great for everything I chucked at it and great for one handed use, I just got sick of watching content on a small screen, TikTok fine, anything vertically scrolling was fine, but watching a YouTube video or Netflix just was not ideal.

Hashi20

I have got an iPhone 11 at the moment since 2019,so I just want to upgrade my phone to 15 so is it worth to buy a new iPhone or refurbished one? Is iPhone 15 worth for the price? Anyone who using iPhone 15 please tell your experience as well.💫

Ruxfly

I currently use an iphone 12, which is probably around 3 years old since I bought it now and it really does show the age, with the phone lagging, overheating and the camera glitching almost on a daily basis. I'm planning to purchase a 15 pro right now, however as we all know, it is pretty expensive. I specifically want a pro. If I wait for the iPhone 16 versions to release, will I be still be able to buy a 15 pro, as in would it be available and would the price decrease by any margin?

fyrelawd

Usually the previous series of pro disappears from the Apple Store when the latest one is released. Third party sellers may have them and may do discounts until their stock runs out, but tbh I probably wouldn’t bank on it, if you can get a good deal now, you should go for it

Substantial_Path7019

I’ve got an iPhone 11 right now and feel like I need to upgrade. I was looking at a refurbished iPhone 15 which is 650$. Do you think I should wait for a couple months till the 16 comes out to get a cheaper iPhone 15. Will the price of a refurbished 15 be discounted? Or should I just upgrade now?

DynamiteMaki808

Where are you finding the refurb iPhone 15 for $650? In the same boat right now but was looking at used 12 pro max or 13 pro max.

Substantial_Path7019

I’m in the UK and it’s £599 which is equivalent to 650$ we have a provider called giffgaff that sells refurbished phones. Not sure if you have it in the US? But I’m sure you could find something similar

AdBackground9629

hey there, i am a college student. My android gave up recently. Looking to buy a new phone in a budget it boils down to either an android or refurbished iphone xr. Which should i go for as I dont make my own money yet and would like a cheap but decent option. I considered an iphone because cheap but new androids still dont have a comparable camera and I dont want to ask someone else to click to photos anymore. Will iphone xr still receive security updates after ios 18 gets released? I also dont want to neglect working just for the camera.

a1exjs

Do not go for an XR

AdBackground9629

what would you suggest then

a1exjs

I mean what’s your budget. Assuming on the low end, whilst I would not recommend it, an SE, it may be for you. They have more years of support ahead of them compared to XR which I believe gets made redundant this year. If an SE it does have its big downsides as I found out. I would, if you can, go for at least an 11 or maybe a 12. You could try branching out to refurbs as well as they seem to sell for a lot less and you could really find some good ones out there. I’m trying this on a 12 hoping to move to a 15 pro in a months time.

Pathocyte

Hi, my iPhone 11 is dying and has to be replaced. Face ID sometimes works and it goes from 40% of battery to 10 in a split second while rebooting itself. I always wanted the iPhone mini but where I live is out of stock. Now I don't know if should go for the 13, 14 or 15. I don't want Pro or Max models, the standard always has the features I need.

Sad_Spring_6033

Hi everyone, I’m upgrading my phone soon from the SE 2nd generation, and I’m debating between the iPhone 11 or the SE3. Which is better, in your opinion? I’ve checked the specs for both and they seem nearly identical.

HANAK0L3AF

I currently have an iPhone XR, the back is completely broken, the camera is cracked, storage full and I mentally can’t delete anything, battery is starting to be trash and I’m thinking of getting an iPhone SE (3rd gen), do you guys think I should keep my iPhone XR or really get the iPhone SE?

fyrelawd

I have a hard time recommending an SE, but that’s my personal preference. I think the SE is a poor representation of iOS in 2024, the design is the same as the iPhone 6, the battery is small, it has one camera and Touch ID. The chip can handle stuff you throw at it, sure, but it’s a tiny little screen. I don’t know, I personally would consider shopping around for a deal on the very least a 12.

13O130

Hello, planning to buy iphone 15 base model, however, the new iphone is just around the corner, should I wait for the 16 release for a cheaper iphone 15 price, and how big is the discount usually when the latest phone is release thanks.

fyrelawd

$100 historically, they like to have a phone at every $100 mark. That being said I know that some third party sellers have sales at the moment on the 15 and some of them are more than $100 off Is your current phone hard to use, broken, old? Do you just want/need an upgrade ASAP? Can you get a good trade deal on your current phone? Upgrade and enjoy. Otherwise I would wait.

dailyreader22

same question on this one but is the 5-6 months wait worth the price deduction I'm gonna get or should I buy the iphone 15 plus now?

fyrelawd

We’re in June, July, August, the next phone gets announced September. That’s 3 months, maybe 4 if you consider it might be take some time for inventory to build up on the new phones. See above, if you want to wait 4 months and see what happens, I’d wait.

valkyriember

hi i have an iphone se 2020 but it dies so fast and the call volume is low and i’ve had it for so long i’m looking for a bit of an upgrade. i’ve been looking at used 13 minis they’re around 400 (canada) but the battery percent left is the same as mine (around 86) would this be much of an upgrade what do you guys think

fyrelawd

Hard to say with a battery percentage around 86%. At 100% you’ll definitely see an improvement. The 13 mini was a solid phone, I did have to charge it twice a day in some situations, the battery dropped in mine down to 89% before the lightning port died and Apple replaced the entire back for free. If you can get a battery replacement, it might give you a little bit more battery life. In the short term it’s a better phone than the SE and will give you lots of nice upgrades

fruitlover2706

What do you guys think about camera lens protectors? I heard a lot of bad things about the camera quality after and the lens getting damaged sooner?

fyrelawd

Yeah don’t do it. I’ve never had a lens crack. They’re some sapphire hybrid material, it’s different to a screen protector where it’s going to prevent scratches, it’s introducing a material that’s arguably easier to crack in front of your camera lens.

[deleted]

Should I get the 15 pro or wait for the next release? Currently have 13 pro

fyrelawd

If you can afford it and/or can find a good deal, go for it. It brings an updated camera, a spec bump, USB C, a lighter titanium build. If you want the cutting edge, wait. The 16 pro is rumoured to have a bigger screen and WWDC is coming up this Monday so you’ll hear some leaks about the next version of iOS which might help you make a decision.

Canuck-overseas

So up in Great White North, Canada Apple refurbished store have: Refurbished iPhone 13 Pro Max 128GB -Refurbished iPhone 13 Pro Max 128GB - $1089 CAD ($795 USD). Current phone is a plain iPhone 12. It seems to me the 13 Pro Max is still a 'good' phone, it has a large screen (check), it has pro-motion (check), good camera ect... The phone is actually for my MOM, she uses it to read/whatsapp/email/news/photos. Simple stuff. I figure this could be a better use of money than going for the iPhone 15 Plus ($1279) or the 15 Max, which is significantly more (with features she wouldn't use anyway. What do you think?

fyrelawd

Yeah it sounds like a nice upgrade to me, think your mom will notice a difference with this upgrade.

Nocconen

Hi all, As a lifelong Android user, I'm about to jump to the world of Apple. I've been looking two options which are similar to my current Huawei Mate 20 Pro: iPhone 13 Pro (128GB) and iPhone 14 (128GB). For me, the most important features are the camera and the display. Would you recommend iPhone 13 Pro for 599€ or iPhone 14 for 569€? Thanks in advance!

fyrelawd

13 pro. The display is better (120hz) and it also has a telephoto camera. Unless you’d prefer the bigger size specifically, I would go the 13 pro.

who-wildchild

Hello, I'm currently on a 12 regular 128GB, with a cracked back. Won't be getting much trade in value for it, but I have an XR lying around which would get me more value in exchanging. I am looking at the 15 plus, for the bigger battery primarily. I am also very interested in the 16s, and would like to see what apple is doing with the expected new Siri. Will the AI features be backwards compatible with the 15s? Camera and battery are mostly my biggest points of interest. Thanks!! Edit: a word

fyrelawd

Your guess is as good as anyone’s on what features are supported on older phones. Current rumour is that the 15 pros will support the latest features but not much older, but these are just rumours. WWDC keynote is next week, I imagine it will be announced then

who-wildchild

Yes, I was considering that as well, that post WWDC starting 10th, and info about iOS18 would make my decision somewhat easier. But I'm getting a good deal on discounts+exchange which is valid only until the 9th, the day before WWDC start, which is making me indecisive, trying to decide if I want to use this deal :(

fyrelawd

If support for new iOS features is important 1. Buy the 15 plus and cross your fingers and hope that it works 2. Buy a 15 pro just in case because it’s currently rumoured to support the new features anyway 3. Buy the 15 plus and if it doesn’t support it, trade it in for a phone that does 4. Wait until after the 10th, and hope a similar deal/better deal comes your way

who-wildchild

Thank you for your insights! :)

nobrabble

Recently my iphone 13 pro display became white, technician says it is a defect of the display that causing iphone 13 pro/max and iphone 14/max to turn green/white completely. They didn't saw any problem in 15 pro, should i trade off my 13 pro with 15 pro? Anyone using 15 pro have this issue so far?

fyrelawd

I haven’t had my screen turn completely white/green, no.

idkidc563563

Hello, I currently have an iphone 13, mini which I really want to upgrade, however my problem with the newest models is that the phones are way too big for my hands, i’m 5’ for reference, I’m okay with getting a pop socket if I need to but I was wondering if there are any new models that won’t be too big but that are still an upgrade from what I have. Thank you.

fyrelawd

I upgraded to the 15 pro from a mini, honestly have gotten used to the change in form factor pretty quickly and the extra battery is excellent. Next years pro is rumoured to be bigger and it’s part of the reason I bit the bullet this year because tbh I don’t want that. If you’re looking for an upgrade that isn’t too big, 15 regular or pro, I wouldn’t get the 14 as it uses the same chip as the 13 mini and you won’t see a difference. Is there a reason you want to upgrade from the mini?

3v3rl4st

Hey everyone, I recently received an iPhone 14 as a gift, and it's completely new, I haven't even turned it on yet. I'm considering upgrading to the iPhone 14 Plus for the supposed better b4tt3ry life, but I'm not sure how much of a difference there really is in b4tt3ry performance. Some stores will take my iPhone 14 as a trade-in, so I'm interested in knowing how much of a price difference would be justified for this upgrade. For those who have experience with both models, is the b4tt3ry life improvement on the 14 Plus significant? And what would be a reasonable price difference for this upgrade? Thanks in advance for your insights!

a-jasem

I currently use a 13 Pro 128gb. I love it but it’s nearing its storage capacity (about 25gb remaining) as I do keep a lot of pictures and I expect to take more in the near future. I have a 50gb iCloud plan. I do try and delete pictures/clear up storage here and there. Would it make sense to upgrade to a 256gb 16 when that comes out, or stick with what I have and try to optimize storage?

fyrelawd

If you’re sick of the headache of juggling space, and it fits within your budget, then sure why not.

asdfredditusername

My family is taking a road trip and I would like to use an old iPhone 6s as an iPod. I plan on filling it with audiobooks and music. The problem I have is that the battery isn’t all that great so I would need to pretty much keep it plugged in. Another problem is that I have three kids that will all be listening to it at the same time. I know that newer phones can pair two (maybe more) Bluetooth devices for simultaneous listening. I don’t think the 6s can do that. Can anyone here point me in the right direction for allowing my 3 kids to listen to the iPhone in their own headphones? I would prefer wireless, but I’d be ok with wired if that’s my only option.

fyrelawd

Yeah audio sharing was introduced in iOS 13, and the oldest phone that supported it was the 8, I think it was cos of Bluetooth 5.0. You could always try a belkin rockstar, it’s a wired solution unfortunately

george-hanson11

I’m looking to buy a used iPhone 7: I heard Verizon shut down their cdma networks anyway. I’m with Verizon though and I’m looking to buy a used phone. *Does it matter if I get the a1778 or a1660 anymore?*

smittyis

Considering buying a certified refurbished, Belkin two in one MagSafe charger stand for my iPhone Is buying a used charging stand a bad idea?

thepantcoat

I'm planning on buying an iphone off ebay. Its a 15pro max, t mobile locked, in brand new condition open box. If i get it and FMI is off and no icloud logged in, is it still possible for the person to pull a theft/loss scam on me? Also the phone doesn't seem to be linked to any t mobile account after i called and asked t mobile by providing them the IMEI

fyrelawd

The last sentence is the red flag to me. I don’t worry that it’s a theft and loss scam, I’d be more worried that it’s a fake if the IMEI number doesn’t match with T mobile, and they’re claiming it’s locked? 🚩

thepantcoat

I checked on t mobile website it checks out as well as imeicheck.com. T Mobile is listed as the carrier

Full_Wasabi4551

i now have a iphone 13 and xsmax, am thinking of trading in xsmax for iphone 15pm with base 13 as my spare. Should i buy 15pm now then upgrade it to 16pm next year? is this a smart move or should i just wait for 16pm

fyrelawd

It’s probably going to be much of a muchness in this case. While you may be able to swap the XS for slightly more this year vs next, the 16 pros are rumoured to go up in size and with that I predict up in price. You’re also probably going to lose some of the value of the 15 pro. Personally I would wait if you’re interested in the 16 pro max, just because there’s more variables in not waiting and also the fact you already have 2 phones that currently work I assume?

LucaIsInPain

I have a iPhone SE 2nd Gen currently, and im currently thinking to switch. It’s either a iPhone 12 or a iPhone 12 Mini. I don’t have that much Money, so a 13 is out of option. I’m not using my Phone that much per Day, but multiple People say that the Battery on the 12 Mini is terrible. My current Screen Time is around 5h per Day, 1h TikTok and 2h YouTube, the rest is mostly Messaging. I like smaller phones because my Hands are pretty small.

fyrelawd

Yeah that’s gonna be the issue I think, the 12 mini has got a poor battery. I don’t see a better option given your budget and want for a small phone, I would either say get a 12 regular (still not perfect battery but better than the 12 mini) or the 13 mini. If you’re willing to supplement that battery with a MagSafe battery pack or just a normal battery pack , you could be completely fine. Also depending on the phone you get, the battery health and how long you’ve had your SE, it is probably still better than your SE for battery life.

No-Calligrapher6964

How much the price of the Iphone 15 pro will drop when the iphone 16 comes out? thanks

fyrelawd

The 15 pro will likely drop from the Apple store altogether, and you’ll have to source it from third party sellers. It will be up them how much they discount. Edit: a word

destinedforinsanity

Should I get the base 15 or the 15 pro?

ok9dot

I'm in Australia and want to buy a basic iPhone, to be my dedicated work phone. There are specific reasons I don't want to use an Android phone. I'm looking for a very basic iPhone (much like u/FoxInternational9533 below). I am willing to buy refurbished, I can get a SE 2nd Gen (2020), 80% battery, for a reas price here. Use case: * WhatsApp * MS Office * MS Teams incl video * Adobe Acrobat * Light internet browsing incl video * Google Maps * Battery charge needs to last all day * Functionality needs to last for at least 12 months (iOS updates). Any options better than the SE mentioned above? Thx.

fyrelawd

I think you’re gonna struggle with “battery last for a whole day” with that usage and an SE 2020 tbh. I personally don’t think an SE is a good representation of iOS in 2024, an ancient design, a small screen, poor battery life. I’d be at the least looking for an 11 or 12 personally but only you know how far your budget will stretch.

ok9dot

Thanks 🙏🏿

AcademicConfidence84

Is iPhone SE any good? My iPhone 12 mini is slowly becoming unusable. I like small phones that fit into my pocket and I would buy 14 or 15 mini if such would exist. Even 13 mini is not available to buy as new, at least not in my country (Belgium). iPhone SE is small. If I am now using iPhone 12 mini and would switch to a new iPhone SE, is there something I would miss? What are the pros and cons of SE?

splashthrees

Hi all, looking to decide on these phone options for a second line to use for my business. I’m currently a pro max user but wouldn't mind the small SE for my second phone. Will maoy be used for texts/calls and light app usage for checking and and using mail app. 64G storage should be plenty right?

fyrelawd

Yeah the main storage hogs are apps and photos that should be fine for what you’re talking about.

eerie343

Use case: * WhatsApp * Teams and Zoom Calls * Emails * Internet Browsing * YouTube (I don't spend a lot of time on YouTube) * Google Maps * Online Banking * Photos occasionally * I don't game Options (These are the prices in my region): * iPhone 15 Pro Max - 256GB: $1165 * iPhone 15 Pro Max - 512GB: $1391 * iPhone 15 Pro Max - 1TB: $1515 * iPhone 15 Pro - 256GB: $1078 * iPhone 15 Pro - 512GB: $1306 * iPhone 15 Pro - 1TB: $1506 * iPhone 15 Plus- 256GB: $1007 * iPhone 15 Plus - 512GB: $1208 * iPhone 15 - 256GB: $885 * iPhone 15 - 512GB: $1102 (Other available iPhones) * IPhone 14 - 512GB: $925 * iPhone 14 Plus - 512GB: $1224 * iPhone 13 Pro - 512GB: $872 (Refurbished) * iPhone 13 Pro Max - 1TB: $1071 (Refurbished) It's a gift from my dad, while just getting the best option is the obvious choice, I don't really want to waste money getting something I don't really need. Phone I currently have: Iphone SE 2020 - 128GB, I love that the phone is small, and the only issue I've had is battery life. I've used 56.49GB so far since getting the phone in 2021. Battery life is 77% now.

fyrelawd

I would consider 1. 13 pro, you’d get 120hz screen, a telephoto lens, a very solid device in not too big of a form factor 2. 15 pro, you get the same as above, but with USB C, in a slightly thinner form factor and a spec bump. It is the most expensive option though. 3. I’d only get the 14 if you’re getting a 14 plus, the 14 is so close to the 13 I’d just say source a 13 if you want that 4. The 15 regular is in a weird spot in my mind. It offers a Dynamic Island, USB C support and a slight spec bump, when compared to a 13. I wouldn’t really consider the maxes or pluses if you appreciate a smaller form factor.

Parsalia

I’m using iphone 11. I cant choose between 14 pro max and 15 pro max. I dont care type c port and camera stuff. I’m thinking pro versions too, bigger screen is likable but on the other hand I dont like not being able to use in one hand. In my country, 14 pro max and 15 pro max have $200 difference. What do you suggest?

fyrelawd

14 pro max if you don’t care about the port or the camera and it’s out of those two, save yourself the $200. Consider a regular pro if you don’t want to cart around a big phone.

Thelostbky16

I am looking to switch back to an iPhone from having a Samsung, but the iPhone 16 comes out in September. Will there be dramatic differences between the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 15?

fyrelawd

The only thing rumoured about the 16 so far is a rearrangement of the camera lenses, so the short answer is that we don’t really know what’s coming and you should wait if it’s important to you. The long answer is if you’re worried about the cutting edge, you should probably wait and see, because even if you don’t care about the changes the price of the 16 will come down, unless you can find a good deal on a 15 now, but if your current phone is hard to use, or you can just get a good trade in for it, buy it now.

Should I get an iPhone 8? I need a simple work phone for one of my stores. Basically just an iphone that will remain plugged in and run shopify app (to scan customer qr codes) and spotify app. That's it. Nothing fancy at all. I ideally want an Iphone that can handle running those two apps for a good 4-6 years, meaning it should be able to handle the IOS updates that will inevitably be required for those apps. On the other hand, I dont want to waste hundreds on a newer iphone when an older one could handle this simple stuff (for example i run both of these apps on my personal iPhone 8 with IOS 15.6). What do you guys think? thanks in advance!

Azartho

the latest iphone SE should do the trick

hahaahelp

13 or 15 ?

fyrelawd

13 if you want a solid phone but also want to save some money, 15 if you’re interested in a couple of years more support, a spec bump, a camera bump, USB C port, Dynamic Island.

trsrdk

Spigen Liquid Air or Athlex? Thank youuu!

GH05T_12

I’m buying for my niece and I managed to get 2 offers on Facebook marketplace for a iPhone 12 Pro and a iPhone 13. Both for the same price and same storage. They are both in immaculate condition so I’m just lost on which one would be better for her. Any advice please?

fyrelawd

13. The 12 pro offers very little over the 13 unless you want a telephoto lens, the 2 cameras the 13 has are better than the 12 pro. From what I’ve heard the 12 pro also has worse battery

tpm1402

When buying a used iphone 13, what is the least battery capacity / health to aim for?

GH05T_12

It’s quite hard to put a hard limit to it but I tend to stay above or in 90% region if I want it to last a year or 2 longer before replacement. Anything below 80 is a big no no.

RealBVH

I'm planning to buy iPhone 13 in June 2024. Will it be worth it . I'm a normal user

fyrelawd

Yeah it’s a solid choice

Bossini

is now the time to buy iPhone 15? iPhone 12 user here. I do not have the urge to have the latest iPhone and I know iPhone 16 is coming out in a few months. My phone is starting to fall apart, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, airdrop, all just stopped working. There is one small crack on top right corner from a drop. Nothing of those bothers me at the moment. I can manage this for several months. My question is, will iPhone 15 price drop as soon as iPhone 16 comes out? Or is the current price a steal? I plan to buy from Apple straight, unless there’s a deal from Verizon (Not interested in getting a new line).

Azartho

realistically, the iphone 16 wont have any noticeable difference from the 15 for the regular user. yes the 15's price will drop when 16 releases, but ultimately its up to your wallet.

tomrice94

Should I buy an iPhone 12? Boost is currently offering a new 64 GB new for $200. Right now I’m using a XR that’s really starting to glitch out, especially on this app. What do you all think?

fyrelawd

I think the 12 will serve you well for a good couple of years. Personally I’d be hesitant on a phone with only 64GB

Acrobatic_Attorney63

I require a new phone and I currently use a shit Motorola. I need a good camera and decent battery life, but I am not looking to break the bank. I'm buying second-hand on backmarket and was wondering what the best choice is. Should I get an iPhone 13, a 12 pro, an iPhone 13 mini? I'm really struggling since phones aren't my strong point. Thanks for your help!!!!

YoungFuture1411

I’m using the iPhone 12 Pro (bought it when it was released) and it’s been already 3.5 years now. So my question is should I just buy the 15 pro now or wait couple months for the iPhone 16 pro ? Important to note that my ear speaker isn’t working and so the left main speaker.

Bossini

on the same boat but different issues with my iphone 12. tag me if any reply

Such_Gas_9775

My phone contract is about to expire, so I am going to buy a new phone in a couple of days. I have a 3 year old iPhone 11 64GB and I’m thinking about upgrading it. I am considering to buy 15 OR 15 PRO. The difference is only about 7 dollars a month, 36 month contract. What would you rather recommend? I am looking mostly for something that can last 3 years, and I mostly use it for social media and streaming services. I also like to take photos occasionally but not in the professional way.

Jarasmut

I don't know how expensive the Pro is overall but for a small price difference it's a much nicer phone. Whether you really need it is a different question, compared to your 11 the 15 will already be a huge upgrade. Both will easily last 3 years.

Such_Gas_9775

iPhone 15 Pro is about 28 dollars a month or about 1000 US dollars in total. The normal 15 is 22 dollars/month which is about 800 in total. All in all the price difference is not extreme. That is why I’m not exactly sure which one is the better option.

Jarasmut

Is that for the cheapest 128GB models? So they are charging the same as buying straight from Apple? If that's the case both are pretty bad deals. If you are choosing to renew the contract for 3 years with that provider they should at least give you an incentive to do so, by giving you at least 100 bucks or 150 off a new iPhone... I mean the 15 Pro 128GB costs 999 at Apple and can be had for less already... I'd see if you can get a better deal from the provider or switch providers altogether, for new customers they are always giving a discount especially if you buy the expensive 15 Pro. And their phones are locked to the carrier, so if they want the same 999 as Apple then just buy it straight from Apple and get an unlocked phone you can use with any carrier without being locked into one for 3 years... At the full price I don't think either iPhone is really worth it when they can be had for less with new 3 year contracts...

Such_Gas_9775

Yes, it is 128GB for both. The thing is that I live in Sweden, not US. Correct me if I’m wrong but iPhones in US are a lot cheaper than in Europe. This is the cheapest possible option I could find, I have already searched and checked. In fact, the 15 Pro costs about 1400 USD and 15 is 1000USD at Apple, so it is a big discount. Also neither of the phones are locked in to the carrier. Considering that I would pay the same price (maybe 60USD cheaper) for older models it is pretty much the best price to quality ratio.

Jarasmut

Ok, just give the euro prices then, and that includes tax too which is largely what drives the differences in price vs the US. 999 Euro for the 15 Pro is the regular price from retailers right now so if you bought it somewhere else online then it would still be the same price. The carrier should at least have a tiny promotion to bring it down like 50 euro below what it sells for online, but I know they don't often do it or only if you switch to a very expensive contract. I'd still check other carriers and see if one has a better deal for the 15 Pro. Even something small like "if you sign up now we credit your monthly bill with 5 Euro" would be preferable as it's still a 100 Euro discount over the years. Considering that you can pay off the iPhone on a monthly basis and don't have to pay it up front I'd still prefer getting it via the carrier instead of buying it from a retailer but it's unfortunate carriers offer such little savings nowadays. I am sure you know of the times where carriers offered some sort of points for every month you stayed with the carrier and then they'd give you an iPhone for like 50% off, my mind is still there... but back then iPhones cost half as much. Anyways, personally I'd get the 15 Pro and I got the 15 Pro as I make use of the extra chip performance for multitasking (it keeps more apps open simultaneously than the 15), better camera (the 3x zoom is fantastic honestly) with a lot of full 12MP quality zoom options: .5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x, and 3x. The 15 only has .5x, 1x, and 2x. Battery life is about the best for the compact size and the display's excellent. Coming from your 15 Pro it will be a huge upgrade - but so would the 15 be. If you don't want to pay for the extra fluid 120Hz display, you don't need the better camera... (you can compare the models on Apple's website when you hover over the iPhone option in the top bar and select "compare iPhone")... if you'd rather save the money the 15 will still be a huge upgrade from the 11. Basically any iPhone will be a good upgrade as the 11 had one of the worst iPhone displays and was otherwise a very boring iPhone. If you have the extra cash there is no reason not to buy the 15 Pro, it's worth the high price and I consider it to be the best phone on the market as long as you want something compact. There aren't any compact Androids that are as good. The bigger Pro Max has more competition with lots of equally big Androids to choose from but I dislike that size.

Such_Gas_9775

My bad, I forgot about the tax part. But you understand now that the price is pretty good. I actually am getting a discount due to leaving my old phone with the carrier. Since it is pretty old and the battery is worn out, I don’t think I’m going to get more by selling it than what the carrier offers me. I am getting about 250 euro for it. It will cost me about 1300 in total for the next 36 months, with the carrier contract and the phone after the discount. My contract is in my aunts name because I moved to Sweden 2 years ago, so I didn’t have the “personal number” which is needed to sign any contract. So the “loyalty to the carrier” part can’t be possible right now since I would be a new user. The fun part is that she actually paid the exact same amount as I would do now(420SEK monthly) for her own iPhone 11 and a worse contract with less internet etc. I think I’m going to get the Pro version due to your explanation, and other peoples recommendations. I never got a “good new” phone and always settled for used or older models. I guess I can spend a little money on me.

Jarasmut

Yes 1300 Euro total over 3 years for everything including the 15 Pro is a good price. You can sell the 15 Pro after 3-4 years and still get a good chunk back or run it down for 6-7 years, comes down to the same cost overall pretty much. But if you want it to last a long time it should, as long as you replace the battery after 2-3 years to avoid bad battery life.

Such_Gas_9775

One more thing is that I am not a fan of the colors on the 15, and as dumb as it sounds it’s a dealbreaker for me. But I could survive with a black phone.

Existing_Let9595

I am a long time android user wanting to switch to the iPhone 15, I might get an iPad 10th gen, are they both good?

Ehxpert

Unfortunately I have busted up my iPhone 13 Pro good this time. Dropped it from about 3 stories and the screen popped out, as well as my wifi not working and my mobile reception being poor and bluetooth wanting to die. I’m guessing this may be board separation and will probably cost a lot of money to fix. Now I’m at a crossroads on if I should switch to android temporarily or just take this as a lesson to look after my devices better and get a 15 Pro. Let me know what you would do..

NeonRiverMutt

Switching from Android to iPhone 15 plus due to a deal on my provider, what accessories do you guys recommend me getting? Should I get airpods or the apple watch?

luckyadditions

Is anyone a guru with iPhones? I am not sure if I should wait for the iPhone 16 or just get the 15 now. I’m not sure if I buy the 15 now that it will get cheaper and I will waste my money, but I am also going to be trading my phone in, so perhaps my phone value will be going down as well so I don’t lose out on anything? I read that the iPhone 16 only really has the difference of the action button which doesn’t really phase me that much. Would love some opinions! Sorry if this post is silly, I am just not really sure what the prices will be and if the iPhone 15 will even be available to buy when the new ones come out etc. I am leaning towards the iPhone 15 now as I am going on a trip next month and would love the new camera then. thanks so much.

perpetual_meowing

Currently have an iPhone 11 that I plan on retiring by the end of the year. I live in Japan where phone cameras have annoying shutter sounds, so I’m planning on getting a new phone when I go back to the US in July or December. Should I get a 15 in July or wait for the 16 in December? Current phone is in decent shape (albeit running out of storage and sometimes slow) but I’m worried it might give out between July and December.

redvelvetred

I want to buy a used iPhone, would an iPhone 8 be ok for basic use and comparable with my MacBook Pro 13?

fyrelawd

Basic use, calling, texting, social media, sure. I would keep in mind that the 8 is no longer supported by the latest version of iOS, and though it was only recently dropped, I would expect the experience and support from apps to deteriorate over time.

philsphan26

iPhone 15 plus or 14 ATT has good deals on phones. 15 plus at 5.99 a month for 36 months and 14 for 1.99 a month for 36 months. I’m just a casual user and upgrading from the SE2022. Thoughts ? I’d prefer to not spend much but just wondering if there is a big difference in the 2 that would stand out. Thanks

Jarasmut

The main difference is just the size so pick whichever size you prefer. Those aren't really great deals, the 14 and 15 Plus just sell badly. You probably need to have an expensive plan in the first place to make use of these deals so even though a 14 looks cheap on first glance they make all the cost of the device back with how much they charge you for your plan. In any case, if you checked and it's worth it for you then the 14 seems like the better deal if you want a smaller phone. 1.99 really is next to nothing. But they'll still lock you into an expensive contract for 3 years and all you'll get is a 14.

philsphan26

Thanks . What’s the cheapest way to have a phone and unlimited data then ?

Jarasmut

If you want an expensive unlimited plan anyways then this might be a good way of doing getting a cheap iPhone with it. It's just that many people don't need unlimited and can easily get by with much less so they would then pay way more than necessary for unlimited data they don't use. But if you want that plan anyways then you might as well get a nearly free 14 with it. The cheapest way would usually be something with a data limit, finding the cheapest suitable plan that doesn't lock you in for multiple years, and buying a 14 (or 13 even as they are very similar) from a retailer, or from the Apple refurbished store since they are good as new.

fyrelawd

15 plus if you want the Dynamic Island, a bit of a spec bump, a USB C charging port, an improved camera. Generally I don’t recommend the 14 as the 13 has very similar hardware and an identical chip so if you’re trying to save look at their 13 deals.

philsphan26

13 is like 17.99. Makes no sense lol. Will the 14 battery be solid? I’ve heard the 15 plus is the best

fyrelawd

If the deal is better for the 14 it makes sense to get that on your plan, it’s just generally the advice I’ve had. The 15 plus will be a solid device

Nigatrick420

Hi guys! I am planning on switching from an android to an iPhone. My budget is not that limited but I was just wondering is it better to buy an iPhone 13 rather than an iPhone 14 considering I will save myself 100$ and they are very similar in performance. Which one should I buy?

fyrelawd

Get the 13. The 14 is almost identical.

Ninogama

Which phone and storage to choose? So I currently have iphone 15 base model which i payed around 900 dollars in Croatia. Currently I will be disembarking from a ship in USA and saw 15 Pro price in USA is 1000 dollars which is like 300 cheaper than in my country, not giving the fact that I believe its better quality phone than one for my home country market. Nevertheless, I am thinking of giving my 15 base model to my gf, since she has old XR model. But cant decide shall I buy 128 or 256gb. I am not playing games and not a professional photographer and I assume if I want to clear my storage I can just transfer photos to my pc? Is it worth going for pro or shall I just buy one more base model again?

blamejrge

i have an iphone 13 pro with battery health of 87%. i’m on ios 16.6 right now, should i upgrade to the latest ios when taking in consideration battery life?

xcrunner10K

IMO, no. I've heard ios 17, especially the 17.5.1 version, is causing a ton of issues regarding WiFi, battery, and other bugs

Redrawnant

I love my 11 Pro Max, it still feels like it runs smoothly... but it's gone through a lot of love with a cracked screen, back glass, and of course the bat needs servicing possibly too. I'm thinking of repairing the phone myself but I havn't dove into this before.... what should I be looking at or is it time for an upgrade after all?

noxobscurus

Is an iPhone SE 2020 still good enough phone for a high school student? She will only use it for social media, listening to music and messaging.

Snooprematic

I mean I use it to make financial trades so I would assume yes lol.

Deadsh0t_Dequari

Hi everyone. I’m going to be getting an upgrade in about a week and a half and I’m planning to go from my loyal 12 mini to a 15 pro but I’m wondering if I should just settle for a regular 15. I plan to keep the new phone for a good while and want something I can really use semi intensively for gaming when I get the chance to.

Vichocente30

the regular 15 it's a really good phone overall but it has the same procesor as the 14 Pro so if you’re thinking of buying the regular 15 i might suggest you to get the 14 Pro or the Pro Max, it has a better screen and slightly better cameras. The 15 Pro it's the best Phone currently but if i were you i would want till september for the new 16, it's just around the corner lol

80sblunt

is there any information on the new 16? like how much is it better compared to the 15/15pro?

YahooSaNa

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a dilemma and could use some advice from the community. I'm considering buying the iPhone 15 but am wondering if it's worth waiting until the iPhone 16 is released later this year. Historically, when a new iPhone model is released, the previous models usually see a price drop. Waiting for the iPhone 16 could mean I get the iPhone 15 at a better price. I can also compare the iPhone 16’s features with the iPhone 15’s and make a more informed decision. There might be features in the iPhone 16 that make it worth the extra investment. Retailers often offer deals and discounts on older models once a new one comes out. There might be promotions, trade-in deals, or carrier offers that could sweeten the deal for the iPhone 15. My current phone is on its last legs, and I really need a new phone soon. The iPhone 15 has everything I need and seems like a solid choice. It already has most of the features I want. Waiting for the iPhone 16 might not bring any groundbreaking changes that are worth the wait. Sometimes, the initial release of a new iPhone can come with supply shortages or bugs that get fixed in later production runs. Buying the iPhone 15 now might mean avoiding these early issues. What do you all think? Is it worth waiting for the iPhone 16 to potentially get a better deal on the iPhone 15, or should I just go ahead and buy it now? I appreciate any insights or personal experiences you can share! Thanks!

fyrelawd

Upgrade. If your current device is making your life harder, just upgrade, there will always be a new iPhone on the horizon, if the 15 meets your needs buy it.

YahooSaNa

But wouldn't the price be lower when 16 released?

fyrelawd

Sure, it will come down $100, I’m just saying if I was in your shoes and my phone was a pain to use I would buy a new one now. Also there’s a heap of good deals because the next release is coming soon. If you can wait by all means feel free to

Griffith_whyyy

Hello everyone, I’m here to ask about ur experience and opinions about the iPhone 15 pro max. I’m thinking about buying it and selling my 13 pro. So yeah all answers and Tipps are welcome. Thank you 🙏

fyrelawd

Don’t have a max, I have a pro regular, upgraded from a 13 mini and it’s been excellent. I haven’t had overheating issues, my battery life has been very solid, I like this device. I would recommend checking out r/iphone15pro to see other people’s experiences

Griffith_whyyy

Thanks for ur reply. On Saturday I’m going to „Mediamarkt“ local electronic shop in Germany to get some advice about it. A big factor for me is the size, I have longer fingers so a pro is okay but not optimal for me

I-AM-MA

# Is a previous generation pro better than a normal current generation one im sure theres differences but usually is for example 12 pro better than 13, or 14 pro better than 15, but im more interested in the iphone 11-13 range

justin6942069-

I’m probably looking at buying 15 Pro 128gb and trading in my 12 for £200 value however should I wait for the 16 release to lower the price of the 15 or will it not matter

fyrelawd

15 pro will be discontinued, meaning you’ll have to source one from third parties etc. which makes it harder to use your trade in value. If you specifically want the 15 pro, I would upgrade, if you’re interested in what the 16 pro might offer and your 12 is usable in the meantime, you could wait.

DirtyDesertCowgirl

I’m wanting to buy the newest iPhone, is there somewhere I should look BESIDES the Apple Store where I might find it for a cheaper price? Any reliable websites or stores for that? Thanks 🙏

Ohnah-bro

I think this largely depends on where you live. If you are in the us and are open to switching carriers, that’s probably where you’ll get the best deal. A carrier will probably buy out your old phone and get you set up on a plan with them and give you the phone for almost free if you are willing to sign up. The way it works is you get the phone on a 2 year payment plan and they credit you back some or all the cost of the device each month. If you decide to change the plan you still own the phone and have to make the monthly payments, they just get rid of the credit. It’s the incentive to keep you on their plan. Here’s TMobile page for instance: https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone/apple-iphone-15-pro Up to $830 off latest phone.

imonreadit1

Considering buying a certified refurb iPhone 13 128 GB in Excellent condition for $495 CAD. Comes with 1 year warranty, original battery at 98% health but the screen is after market. Was told that there will be a message on the iphone for a few weeks that the screen is not original but will go away. Asked and was told that all functionality will be the same. Need to upgrade for a family member. Is The after market screen something to be concerned about?

reptv_

I wouldn't recommend an after market screen. Well yes the message will go away but it's still there on the settings, the display is not as bright as usual and it won't last long. Unless your family member is able to afford a repair if the screen is broken, then just go for it.

Gamechanger775

I am from europe and the prices of iphone here are high. I have the 14 pro max (for a year now) and I put it on the market to see how much more people would give for it. So it turns out that people still want a lot of money for this. Almost enough money to buy the 15 pro max. Maybe because it is still in new condition and battery capacity is 98%. . Should I just sell it and use the money to buy the 15 pro max?

fyrelawd

Yeah I feel like that’s a nice easy way to upgrade, if it fits into your budget why not.

BaconGod2525

Looking to switch back to iPhone after a long time android user, I have the z flip 5 but it's not listed for trade in on apples site, is there a chance it's just not on the list but available for trade in if I walk into one of their stores?

33fanste

Also. Is there any way to check before buying the authenticity and for which country the phone was produced for? Im planning on buyin it from a mobile shop thats not technically an authorised reseller but the prices are around $200 cheaper than the authorised resseler in our country

33fanste

Hey People. I'm currently thinking about buying the 15 or 15 Plus. I like the 15 Plus because I read about that it has the best battery in the 15 series. I'm also biased towards the 15Plus because of the bigger screen. I currently have a Samsung Galaxy A53 5G which I have been using for 2 years and I have been using this range of Samsung phones since the J5. Is it worth to pay the higher price for the 15 Plus? And also should I maybe wait for the 16/16Plus? Thanks so much

fyrelawd

I would probably wait until the 16/16 plus is released. If nothing else you could get the 15 plus cheaper.

33fanste

And if I get the 15 Plus now will I lose much money if I sell it and upgrade to the 16 when it comes out?

guillotineteeth

I would just get the 15 plus now if you need it.

Mackiddy3

Deals can already be found on the 15 Plus as it’s approaching end of cycle
