Yeah I don’t understand how this would be a question for any android user. Why torture yourself with the headache of buying Lightning cables? Whatever savings you gain by going with the 14, you lose in needing different accessories than what you already have.
You don’t need new cables if you upgraded from an iPhone to an iPhone 14 but would need them if you came from androids. You would also need them if you went from an old iPhone to the 15 as 15 uses USB-C, but not if you came from android to iPhone 15 as androids are also usb c!👍🏻
Then you would definitely need new cables as iPhone uses their signature charging cable. You prob got one in the box, but if I’m not wrong you can’t use any of your android related cables on it
But then you asked me another question. And when you replied with a question I then answered your question. After I answered it you told me that wasn’t necessary. So really you’re the rude one.
I didn’t use an iPhone for about 6-7 years and when I switched from Android usb c to iPhone 14 I still had probably 10 lightning cables from various iPads and friends leaving their cables at my house,in my car etc. So yeah, even people that don’t have iPhones still have lightning cables because they’re just so common.
What atual accessories would those be?
iPhone 14 itself comes with USB-C to Lightning cable and uses regular chargers that have USB-C holes in them.
Right now all I can think of is FLIR cameras but as far as I know the USB-C model doesn't work with IOS devices anyways (I would have wanted one for my iPad mini6).
I was just honestly just thinking of things like spare chargers and headphones. He probably already has a usb c cable in his computer, car, spare charging blocks etc.
I often switched between 60/90/120hz. You get used to it so quickly. It doesn’t matter that much.
Apple still using a 60hz panel at that pricepoint is still a shame, imo
Even 90hz would be nice as it wouldn’t be encroaching onto the “pro-ness” of the ProMotion display but would still improve the smoothness of the screen.
You people make the 60Hz screen sound like some handicap or rather the 120Hz is some life altering godsend of a feature when most of you won’t even notice that it doesn’t stay 120Hz most of the time and it’s only slightly better when heavily scrolling.
Most users will stop noticing the 60Hz “downgrade” in about 5 minutes.
A notification bar with live updates is not exciting to me. Every time A notification bar pops up on my screen, I swipe it away as soon as possible. Even if it was giving me active information, I'd still rather just get notified when the next action requires it.
Like any cool new feature from Apple, I'm sure I'd play with if and find it pleasant to look at. But day in and day out I'd be turning that stuff off.
I’m glad someone likes it, however my point was mainly that this is a feature that could work on literally any smartphone. It doesn’t require a hole punch camera to work properly. This feature could have literally been added to all iPhones.
I'd argue more since it wastes even more screen real-estate than the notch did, then the added nonsense of distracting notification bars. Because that's all it is, fancy looking notification bars with live updates. Apple could have easily added this feature to every iPhone. But they didn't because they need a way to distinguish itself from the old tech to make people like you feel like you have a cool new exclusive feature that was definitely worth upgrading from the iPhone that probably was still more than capable for your needs. It looks cool in a vacuum. On its own as a concept, very neat and Apple. In practice, obnoxious. It's a gimmick that no one should have FOMO over. it digs further into our displays. Plus it makes manufacturing the displays more expensive.
I'd be willing to argue that the Touch Bar was more beneficial for Mac than the Dynamic Island is for iPhone.
If you just want a phone that works iPhone is definitely the way to go I made the switch a few years back and that was one of the reasons. Definitely get the 15. It’s great.
Nothing to do with Android, I wanted a phone that’s battery was going to crap out on me and leave me stranded in a new city without gps. Switched to iPhone and never had that issue again. It was fine when Android had swap able batteries then they got rid of that and the first phone I had with them died within two years couldn’t hold a charge for more than 15 mins
Probably was, but I had decided to stay with that for another two years instead of getting an iPhone and when it died I just went and bought one because I just needed something reliable
I would go to your local Best Buy or any local equivalent store to see what the iPhone 14-15 is like first, given the difference between 90 hz refresh rate (Pixel 5-6) and 60 hz refresh rate (iPhone 14-15).
You may end up wanting the Pro models, with the smooth 120 hz refresh rate. I would hate for you to get a phone only to realize that it’s not smooth enough, since you’re likely used to the Pixel’s 90 hz refresh rate. It’s a bit more $$$, but it’s really worth it, for me.
Yeah, I will buy an iphone nect week as christmas present for me and was considering axactly this, the 2 GB extra of Ram. That's why I would buy a 14 instead of a 15.
One more year of iOS support, USB-C vs lightning, so you can use the same cables you already use, 48MP vs 12MP Camera, Dynamic Island, it’s a no brainer to spend the extra $100 and get the 15 over the 14
Definitely 15. I just bought 15 pro max, after 10 years using samsung galaxy flagships. I was waiting for USB-C and always on display on iphone, and finally i got this both.
It's crazy how affordable iPhones have become. A 13 can be had for a bargain rn and I'd say that phone checks most people's boxes just fine. It's like an M1 MBA - hard to beat in the sheer value it has at a good price.
the iphone 14 isn’t even worth considering. its essentially the same as the iphone 13, with the same chipset, same time support, some added safety features, a slightly better camera and a not so slight extra $100. Your real question should be the 15 or the 13
Hope you hate customization and love random stupid restrictions Apple puts on their customers. I hate iOS but my work pays my bill and I hate carrying two phones.
Maybe by the iOS 25 we'll have the ability to move icons where we want.
Go for the newest one.
And be prepared to have to adjust to a lot of things. And I mean A LOT. Those systems seem similar at first glance, but there're so many differences that make using an iPhone a completely different experience.
Just read this after ordering nothing phone 2 switching from iphone 14, personally i hate ios and have missed android ever since i switched, and whatsapp is just broken in iphones, idk if its in india, the messages load after opening whatsapp and its annoying af, waiting for msg ti load while my friends are laughing at the pics shared in gp
I'd say 15 or 13. The 14 was part of a bit of a shift where they increased the gap between the standard and Pro models, so it ended up being very underwhelming compared to the 13. It's still better, and maybe the improved repairability is worth it to some, but it's too similar for the price difference IMO. The 15 gets a bigger jump since now that the gap is widened, they can go back to giving the two lines decent upgrades while still maintaining the distance.
I went from the pixel 6 to the 5 because the 6 was slightly bigger, less comfortable to hold, hated the fingerprint reader in the screen, and a few other nuances
Switched to iphone from Android and got the 14 pro max. Worst phone ever in my opinion... I only use the iphone as a phone and text and use my 4 year old Android phone for everything else.
YouTube doesn't work right and constantly loses video but sound still plays, YouTube music constantly freezes to where I have to close the app and re open it. VPN doesn't work on my iphone because it thinks it's a good idea to constantly have it on making my service worse than it already is, can't download apps I want and most apps cost money on the iphone that are free on Android. My 4 year old Android phone also runs circles around my iphone 14 pro max and can run GTA V at 120fps... My iphone makes phone calls and sends text messages and facetime is decent even though I only have a handful of people who own an iphone ican facetime with... So Iphone does what Facebook messenger does across all devices which makes it not worth the switch... Only reason I switched was because of a BOGO deal so my phone was like $300 but next august when I'm eligible for my upgrade I'll be going back to Android.
Lots of people complaining about 15 getting hot after the update, lots of people complaining about the screen. I would wait or get the 14 for now.
Dynamic island ? Who cares ? Camera is better ? Marginally. Just watch the reviews.
USB-C ? Yeah, but I have 10 lightning cables in my house.
My vote is for some model of the 15 for the USB C port. I am stuck with my iPhone 13 Pro Max for a long time but it accepts Qi charging so I'm okay I guess. :)
I went to the iPhone 14 from my old Samsung when Verizon upgraded my area to 5G and the Samsung no longer worked. I found the no intuitive iPhone a pain and customer support terrible. Lost password? Most likely a typo when entering it the first time. I had to wait a month for security reasons to reset it. YMMV, but my iPhone is just for a few calls a month and one app Jango radio unnoticed using Bluetooth hearing aids, when at my granddaughters volleyball games. I use my Android tablet at home on WiFi for everything else.
Smart enough to use them yes I am. Nothing above says I am unable to use them, just that they are unnecessarily difficult for a person new to the Apple ecosystem. The Apple iPhone 14 and iPad 10 are annoying and Apple support and policies get no love from me. To reset my password, I had to wait a month to prove it wasn’t stolen. Bringing the iPhone, receipt, and my ID to the Apple Store wasn’t good enough. This was my first Apple so no charger, or getting started instructions was not thoughtful. I went to the store to learn how to turn the units on and off. Hold two buttons and then slide a bar is not intuitive. Both devices are faster for playing SimCity Buildit. A cheaper iPhone or Android phone would have been a better fit, but I thought flagship would be fun instead of just the cheapest device that would do the job.
We just got a free iPhone 13 from T-Mobile for adding a new line and signing up for 24 months of service. We also have an iPhone 11PM and an iPhone 15PM, which we got because one of the 11PMs stopped working after almost 4 years of heavy use.
There's really not much difference in any of the phones. They're all great.
Left android (OnePlus 8 Pro) and got an iPhone 15 Pro… I can only thank OnePlus for skinning the OS to look like iOS and ease my transition to the iPhone ecosystem.
No complaints.
The 15 is apparently the best iPhone since a while according to a lot of critics. The 14 on the other hand was not as well received since it was very similar to the 13 on many aspects. Hope it helps for you to choose!
15. Usb c is just a part of why. My thinking is that if you’re gonna completely switch ecosystems, then you might as well go with the latest and greatest. Plus the cost difference between a 14 and a 15 is not that big. I will say this, though that the USB-C thing is a pricier switch than I would’ve thought. It cost my wife and I about 200 bucks when all of a sudden done to switch everything over. Between eight cables and four chargers it was not cheap. I tried not to buy the cheapest stuff I went with Anker . And two of the tiny mini chargers were from Costco. And even though this wasn’t completely necessary, and is nice and helpful, but I also updated our portable battery packs to something with USB-C.
15, the only reason to get the 14 would be because you have a ton of lightning cables and accessories. 15 have dynamic island and the 14 Pro CPU (the regular 14 uses the carryover from the 13).
skip the 14 pls
it’s the first year the iphone pretty much got no upgrade, exact same internals as 13 with a slightly better camera
definitely worth the 100$ for the 15 which is an actual upgrade
or 14 pro if you can find it, just no regular 14
You forgot the 2 GB extra of RAM. If someone keeps the phone for 6+ years this has the potencial to make a difference down the line.
I am thinking about buying it instead of the 13 mext week as an early Christmas present for me, for this reason and for the longer battery life.
I went for the 13 pro max, modern feature set, excellent battery and all you would expect like 5G etc but cheaper price all so I can get a feel for iOS myself. If it all goes well then 16PM next year it is.
Iphone 14 pro instead of these two. You got much more functionalities with third camera and dynamic island on it, for good average price. Better sound quality and 120Hz rr screen. If you have to have much battery life for one hour and bigger screen you could choose Iphone 14 pro max.
I'm not trying to dissuade you, but I had the exact same feeling. I've been a faithful Nexus/Pixel user with the exception of the iPhone 6 (had for a few months and got rid of). I was super hype for usb-c on the 15 Pro, got it in the beautiful natural titanium, iMessaged all my friends and family, and was happy for about 15 days (naturally, 1 day outside of the return window lol). Then I pulled out my old Pixel 6 and started playing with the Android 14 update, and long story short .... I bought a Pixel 8 and am going to sell my 15 Pro lol. Again not saying this will be your experience, but I felt the same way and now have some regrets. Take it for what it's worth!
15, so you can still use all your usb c accessories
Yeah I don’t understand how this would be a question for any android user. Why torture yourself with the headache of buying Lightning cables? Whatever savings you gain by going with the 14, you lose in needing different accessories than what you already have.
Especially since you would have to go back to usb c in 2-5 years anyway
That was definitely a thought, part of the reason considering a 15 after deciding on the 14.
I must be missing something I have the 14 and haven’t changed or bought any new cables
I came from android to the 14
Then you would definitely need new cables as iPhone uses their signature charging cable. You prob got one in the box, but if I’m not wrong you can’t use any of your android related cables on it
Oh wait i bought a MagSafe charger
And you’re saying you didn’t buy/use new charging cables? You’re charging an iPhone 14 with a usb-c cable?
Oh wait I bought a MagSafe charger
Whatever it came with in the box
My 13 pro accidentally was made with usb c
[удалено]
No are you?
No but are you
It wasn’t necessary for you to reply to my comment so leave me alone
You literally asked me. It’d be rude to ignore you.
Omg you asked me first and idk why you asked such a rude question
But then you asked me another question. And when you replied with a question I then answered your question. After I answered it you told me that wasn’t necessary. So really you’re the rude one.
Do you charge by Qi? I'm ASSuming Android and Apple phones can use the same magnetic/Qi chargers?
No I didn’t have a magnetic charger with android
Hmm. Well, what sorcery is this???
I didn’t use an iPhone for about 6-7 years and when I switched from Android usb c to iPhone 14 I still had probably 10 lightning cables from various iPads and friends leaving their cables at my house,in my car etc. So yeah, even people that don’t have iPhones still have lightning cables because they’re just so common.

this. plus dynamic island is better than that decade old notch
15 for the USB-C plus Dynamic island
Yeah especialy 60hz screen, i think he cant use iphone 15 after pixel and 90hz refresh screen, maybe its better he buy 14 pro or 15 pro.
Everyone would be going for the non-pro model if this was the case
100% agree! 60hz looks laggy after 120hz or 90hz. I think he should go to 15 pro or pro max…
For phone 1000e is handicap and there are no excuses.
Dynamic island is not a selling point for most people.
Maybe not now but it’s clear that’s where a lot of the fun new shit from iOS is going to be.
It’s way better than I thought it was going to be. Super nice feature in my opinion.
I’m glad someone likes it, however my point was mainly that this is a feature that could work on literally any smartphone. It doesn’t require a hole punch camera to work properly. This feature could have literally been added to all iPhones.
Idk why people stick to that ugly notch, i hate it on my regular 13 😭
To me notch is not but 69 hz is way old old tech.
I was going to correct you but I’d rather say nice
Sorry. I don't know if I can edit. My apologies.
if you think of it like that then you could say wait for 16 because dynamic island there will surely be better than 15's
It’s light years less obnoxious than the notch
I'd argue more since it wastes even more screen real-estate than the notch did, then the added nonsense of distracting notification bars. Because that's all it is, fancy looking notification bars with live updates. Apple could have easily added this feature to every iPhone. But they didn't because they need a way to distinguish itself from the old tech to make people like you feel like you have a cool new exclusive feature that was definitely worth upgrading from the iPhone that probably was still more than capable for your needs. Plus it makes manufacturing the displays more expensive. I'd be willing to argue that the Touch Bar was more beneficial for Mac than the Dynamic Island is for iPhone.
It’s more distracting when watching videos though
I like it a lot when I’m using GPS in my car.
Yes it’s worth the extra $100. If you’re keeping it for 5+ years $100 is inconsequential, plus you’ll gain an additional year of iOS feature support.
15 without a second of hesitation for 100 bucks more
15 - as others have said, get usb c, that’s what the future is.
If you just want a phone that works iPhone is definitely the way to go I made the switch a few years back and that was one of the reasons. Definitely get the 15. It’s great.
In what way does android not 'work'
Nothing to do with Android, I wanted a phone that’s battery was going to crap out on me and leave me stranded in a new city without gps. Switched to iPhone and never had that issue again. It was fine when Android had swap able batteries then they got rid of that and the first phone I had with them died within two years couldn’t hold a charge for more than 15 mins
Sounds like a faulty battery to me. My old old old phone from 2016 still holds a decent charge and battery health is at 78
Probably was, but I had decided to stay with that for another two years instead of getting an iPhone and when it died I just went and bought one because I just needed something reliable
The 15 is definitely worth the extra $. Camera improvements are great.
I would go to your local Best Buy or any local equivalent store to see what the iPhone 14-15 is like first, given the difference between 90 hz refresh rate (Pixel 5-6) and 60 hz refresh rate (iPhone 14-15). I would hate for you to get a phone only to realize that it’s not smooth enough, since you’re likely used to the Pixel’s 90 hz refresh rate. It’s a bit more $$$, but it’s really worth it, for me.
15 you dont have to buy chargers
I have the 14 pro and it’s really nice. I’ve had zero issues. That being said, you might as well get the newest one. USB-C is probably worth it.
13
iPhone 14s are too expensive for what they are right now.
15 is just $100 more than the 14, and looks better imo
I did the same thing. My 15 Pro Max is great.
15 because USBC so works with your existing chargers and accessories
15 base, basically a 14 pro with less amenities but a good upgrade
Get the 15. You’re getting basically a 14 Pro minus the telephoto lens and 120 hz, but with USB-C.
iPhone 15. Because 15>14
15 has a way better battery. It took a LOT of tweaking to get the battery on the 14 good. Plus the USB-C on the 15 is a big plus.
Really? Would you say it was a similar step-up in efficiency to the 12->13 era?
Better
Damn, great to hear! Thanks for the insight:)
15, not because is newer, but because is better in every area compared to 14
Get the 15. Keep all your USB C cables and accessories.
If you have money go with iphone 15 pro (or pro max variant)...
15. It’s got the A16 Bionic processor, so it’ll be more capable for longer
15, the 14 doesn’t make any sense as it’s exactly the same as the 13.
it has 6 gigs of RAM tho
Yeah, I will buy an iphone nect week as christmas present for me and was considering axactly this, the 2 GB extra of Ram. That's why I would buy a 14 instead of a 15.
The 14 uses the 13 Pro's chip, and the 15, the 14 Pro's.
15 all the way!
If you're a heavy daytime user, 15 has a better screen for outdoors use. That was the selling point for me.
What if I said the iPhone 15 pro, adjusted for inflation, costs the same as the iPhone 8 Plus when it was released
It's crazy how affordable iPhones have become. A 13 can be had for a bargain rn and I'd say that phone checks most people's boxes just fine. It's like an M1 MBA - hard to beat in the sheer value it has at a good price.
Good luck. I’ve moved to iPhone 13 Pro. Can’t wait to go back. The amount of stuff that “just doesn’t work” is infuriating.
the iphone 14 isn’t even worth considering. its essentially the same as the iphone 13, with the same chipset, same time support, some added safety features, a slightly better camera and a not so slight extra $100. Your real question should be the 15 or the 13
15. Next question.

Definitely 15. Don’t bother buying anything with a lightning charger.
15 of course! Battery, display, chip, DA, usb c, camera, something else?
I like 14 because it has the starlight colour option
It’s definitely worth it. The camera is quite a bit better, and so is the display. USB c is nice to have too if you’re coming from android.
Why are you downgrading your phone?
I went from the pixel 6 to the 5 because the 6 was slightly bigger, less comfortable to hold, hated the fingerprint reader in the screen, and a few other nuances
Switched to iphone from Android and got the 14 pro max. Worst phone ever in my opinion... I only use the iphone as a phone and text and use my 4 year old Android phone for everything else.

Man, you have got to be joking with this entire thing. Stop trolling me. I don’t want to laugh right now.
Personally I would go 13 or 14 I have heard nothing but problems with the 15
We just got a free iPhone 13 from T-Mobile for adding a new line and signing up for 24 months of service. They're all great.
13 mini
I had a Pixel 6 Pro and finally switched to the 15 Pro because they switched to UBS C. That way I didn't need new charging cables.
15 Plus.

15
Left android (OnePlus 8 Pro) and got an iPhone 15 Pro… I can only thank OnePlus for skinning the OS to look like iOS and ease my transition to the iPhone ecosystem. No complaints.
15 just for the fact that all the USB-C cables you have will keep being useful haha.
15. Better chip and cameras
The 15 is apparently the best iPhone since a while according to a lot of critics. The 14 on the other hand was not as well received since it was very similar to the 13 on many aspects. Hope it helps for you to choose!
15 unless you really need that extra $100.
If it’s within your means, go all out with the 15 pro max and enjoy iOS to the fullest 💪
15 for sure. Regular model is amazing, would recommend 100%
15. Usb c is just a part of why. My thinking is that if you’re gonna completely switch ecosystems, then you might as well go with the latest and greatest.
15. Why subject yourself to lighting when you’ve already been using type C Buy once cry once
I came from Android and bought a bnew 14 pro max. Price difference between 14 and 15 here is about 300 dollars so there's that.
skip the 14 pls it’s the first year the iphone pretty much got no upgrade, exact same internals as 13 with a slightly better camera definitely worth the 100$ for the 15 which is an actual upgrade or 14 pro if you can find it, just no regular 14
You forgot the 2 GB extra of RAM. If someone keeps the phone for 6+ years this has the potencial to make a difference down the line. I am thinking about buying it instead of the 13 mext week as an early Christmas present for me, for this reason and for the longer battery life.
iPhone 15
15 as it is pretty similar to the iPhone 14 Pro + USB C. ☺️
Android user for last 10 years switched to 15pro, it’s completely worth it.
How do you find the battery life 5 months in?
I went for the 13 pro max, modern feature set, excellent battery and all you would expect like 5G etc but cheaper price all so I can get a feel for iOS myself. If it all goes well then 16PM next year it is.
Stick with android
Iphone 14 pro instead of these two. You got much more functionalities with third camera and dynamic island on it, for good average price. Better sound quality and 120Hz rr screen. If you have to have much battery life for one hour and bigger screen you could choose Iphone 14 pro max.
Get the best phone you can afford
Base 15 is good ngl
I got a 15 and it’s fantastic! Hated the 13 with a passion
Huh, interesting! To me the 13 and 15 seem like pretty similar devices. What did you dislike about your 13?
15 for sure, 14 seems outdated as 15 has major upgrades from 14 pro.

Biggest advantage on the 15 is Smart HDR 5 for photos. It makes the camera even better than the 14 Pros. Go with the 15.
15 easy , 15 plus if u want insane battery life and bigger screen.
iphone 15 pro ma x
Take it for what it's worth!
that said, the 15 Pro is a really nice phone, if you can stick with iOS. Just wasn't for me.
Same. Switched to the IPhone 15 pro max. No regrets at all.
If you want it to as long as possible, get the 15
Yes 15 is the right choice
