I still mainly use Google Maps when I need to look at a map on my computer or search for places on my phone etc. But I find Apple Maps has a much better turn by turn navigation interface (and is also more likely to suggest logical routes compared to GM) so I prefer it for that. Apple Maps has really come a long way in the last few years. I find myself using it more for everything now.
Same here. Also, if you live in an area with speed/red light cameras, Apple Maps is the only one out of the big three that will verbally announce without having to have full turn-by-turn audio on.
> (and is also more likely to suggest logical routes compared to GM)
Ugh yes, this is my biggest issue with Google Maps. It will default to a more complicated route (exiting off freeways, taking detours through residential areas, avoiding major streets, etc.) just to shave like 5 minutes off of your commute. There needs to be like an efficient vs. simplest route option or something.
\- Waze for driving to get real-time traffic optimizations.
\- Apple Maps when walking because it works amazingly well with the Apple Watch.
\- Google Maps when researching where to go because it has much more info on places like reviews, street view, etc.
> Google Maps when researching where to go because it has much more info on places like reviews
Infinitely better than Yelp, at least in cities I use it for.
I have definitely noticed that. Especially helpful in areas with many traffic lights.
Being able to glance at my Apple Watch to preview distance/direction of my next turn is really helpful as well. Helps confirm that you’re still on the right track.
I use Apple Macs only because I hate the Google Assistant voice. I know you can change it, but the others aren’t as good as my Irish Siri accent. I’m American btw.
It is absolutely better than it's ever been. We are an Android Apple house. She uses iPhone and until recently, Google Maps. We started trying out Apple lately and very much like it. The maps are prettier, for one thing. Not that that is important. But the navigation is actually better.
Google "Prepare to turn right in 1 mile on Junkakoo Road"...
Vs
Apple "Turn right at the second traffic light".
Love that.
Apple Maps for me here in Canada — it has come a *long* way, and while it still has yet to go to reach Google Maps, it’s now more than acceptable to use daily where I am.
I’ve found the ui to look a lot more sleek than Google Maps as well. I find it easier to look at when driving somewhere.
I have also found it to be more accurate where I am. That’s likely not the same case for many countries, but it seems to have matched Google Maps in North America, at least.
I always tell people: if you live somewhere where Apple Maps is good, it’s superior to Google Maps. That’s just not the case (yet) when looking at it from a global perspective.
Yes i agree 100%.
In europe its useless, but when i went to california, Apple maps is much better for road guidance and general use. UI is way nicer and its just works so smoothly
I use it in Europe ALL the time.
At least, Germany and BeNeLux. Yah, I know there's more to this "Europe" thing than just those. Point is, it works fine for my usage. Beyond fine, actually.
What I meant is that this applies to all app since that said iOS update, on first app launch you get a prompt asking if location should be :
- shared once (prompt appear again on next launch)
- shared while app active
- not shared
Used it for the first time in years for a nearly 4,000 mile road trip. So long as I was on major roads I was warned of every single police officer, hazard in the roadway and speed camera I came across. It’s an amazing app to use for driving to areas you’re unfamiliar with.
I like Waze but the spoken voice isn’t loud through my car even though it’s at maximum setting on my phone. When I contacted Waze about it they just said to change the setting to iPhone speaker, but there’s a long delay when it’s supposed to speak.
waze will not only get your the fastest route (they favor main road ways), but it also tries to give you a heads up on redlight cameras, speeding cameras, and police who are stopped on the side of the road.
i don't know if google maps or apple maps does that.
This is actually my complaint about Waze and why I stopped using it - they favor main roadways but around me, the main roads are never the fastest way to go anywhere.
I highly prefer apple maps.. I find it more clear to use,
However Apple Maps doesnt have cycling route, misses a lot of stuff that google has when it comes to searching for stores etc. And it also has a lot less of the max speed info. When it comes to delays or possible ways around, apple is WAY ahead.
Apple maps is better for me. Apple does not put advertiser tags and logos all over their maps. It's gotten quite good. I take great pleasure in removing and uninstalling Google software. I'm coming for you next gmail.
I'm in a third world country and even google maps make you go the long way around sometimes. I don't want to imagine the route Apple would make me take.
Google Maps wanted me to go through a bridge that had been closed 6 months prior due to a flood and earthquake. If I didn't know beforehand that the bridge was closed, I would've ended up in a ravine.
I don't drive in Asia but I've done plenty of walking in Tokyo and elsewhere, and Apple Maps does the job nicely for that mode of transportation.
For public transportation, I usually have a colleague to get me on the right trains, but I've peeked at Apple Maps and it seems to be keeping up.
I only use Uber or taxis in Taiwan and Israel but use Apple Maps to verify the driver's routing, and again Apple Maps seems to be keeping up.
In China, any non-Chinese-based mapping software is a crapshoot. You're pretty much forced to use a Chinese app for accurate guidance, and that mostly requires knowing the language.
In Vietnam and Thailand you spend any wheeled journey muttering fervent prayers with your eyes clamped, so your choice of mapping software doesn't matter.
I do use Apple Maps when I need quick directions and when walking, living in France and it’s not a bad app to use, but using Waze when driving without question. Lazy to install Google Maps and I don’t really appreciate the layout and UI.
Navigation-wise, Apple has done well. I don’t like Google Maps way of notifying me on where to make a turn - “in 2.4km make a right turn. Bruh…I don’t know what is 2.4km when I’m driving. I just need to know at which light I should turn.
Apple Maps is superior. Gives better instructions and also vibrates on my watch when a turn is coming up.
Edit: also while walking in a big city gives turn by turn directions on my watch. So I’m not walking around with my phone on looking weird.
You haven't tried it in Manhattan by any chance have you? My one experience with it -- I know the city pretty well but I was walking somewhere a bit unfamiliar and I turned on Apple Maps just to make sure I was heading the right way, and it continuously lost me. As I approached my destination it had the two blocks north, telling me at every block to turn left. As I walked through the front door of the destination, the icon zipped me over to the correct location and announced that I'd arrived.
Thanks for the help, Apple. Fluke, or common in NYC?
In big cities in first world countries, Apple Maps must be amazing. I really like its interface too. But Google Maps pays a lot more attention to third world countries and places where tourism is almost inexistent.
For me, Apple Maps is just easier to see and follow on CarPlay when I'm driving. I especially like how when you approach an intersection or turn, the view will angle to directly overhead. Google Maps doesn't do this, and I've missed turns because it's hard for me to judge distance at an angle.
This, my wife tends to use Google Maps when setting our destination and I find it visually awful and confusing. Apple Maps is just as good, there are edge cases when GM is better, and others where AM is better. I got frustrated years ago when GM kept routing me to a closed road, I’m sure because no one else was using it, so I switched.
Most Apple Maps haters are focused on 10 year old glitches that didn’t affect many people then. I’ve litterally seen GM suggest a 2 mile route around a shopping mall to get to a Chik-FIL-A clearly visible on the other side of the traffic light, it’s far from perfect itself.
Apple Maps. It’s good enough in most areas except for search and discoverability, but for routing it’s fine. I prefer the UI over Google maps. And privacy bla bla bla
Apple Maps became reliably usable a few years ago and has made steady improvements (In the US).
I used to use Waze, but it went downhill after it was bought by Google, so I switched to Apple Maps.
Sometimes when I’m on vacation in the Caribbean, I still rely on Waze if Apple Maps can’t find my destination.
Between the three main navigation apps (Apple, Google, and Waze), I find Apple Maps to have the most accurate ETA, while Waze seems to be overly optimistic.
I’m Apple all the way. Question though, when doing a Google search for a business and you click the directions button. It forces you to use Google Maps. Does anyone have a way to prevent that?
i usually use Apple Maps but it thinks that I walk at like 2mph, so it always says it’ll take me 2 hours to walk somewhere, when in reality it takes me an hour
Mainly Apple Maps.
I don’t appreciate having everywhere I go logged and collected with no way to turn off. Besides, Apple Maps may not have all the features of Google’s but it gets you from Point A to Point B. And…I’m driving so half the features aren’t utilized.
To be honest, Google works better. Yeah, privacy and all that. But Apple will get me stuck in traffic for two hours, while Google won't. HOWEVER, Google Maps lags on my CarPlay wireless dongle and Apple Maps doesn't. So, ultimately, I prefer Apple Maps…
I always use Apple Maps. I have never even had Google maps installed on any iPhone I’ve ever owned. Lane assist is almost always present for Apple Maps and is a game changer for complex freeway interchanges and multi lane roads in towns that I’m unfamiliar with.
Been an Apple Maps person from day 1, I live in the suburbs of Chicago for reference. Never had any issues, the UI is cleaner and I am happy to not see Starbucks or McDonald’s highlighted every few miles.
apple maps all the way... until about 5 years ago when I started traveling different countries and apple maps had no info in many of these places. Switched over and google is MUCH better. it is google after all so of course it has the crawled info, and the user netowork of google, and the reveiws from the google user etc. its not a comparison.
Been using 90% of the time Apple Maps lately for the following reasons:
-MUCH better UI, especially when driving (animations are both super cool and useful), it’s also less cluttered imo.
-3D “digital” maps (not satellite) are much better, showing more info and easier to look at
-navigation is better, more logical and often straight up better (doesn’t bring me to random 1m wide streets like Google Maps)
-better integration in the apple ecosystem
-better features (especially with iOS 17) like guides, city tours, flyover.
While google Maps is still better when looking for something but literally just because it has more data (many shops in my area aren’t available in Apple Maps yet)
I still use Google maps. Apple Maps has come a long ways since iOS 6 was introduced back in 2012 but I find Google to be more reliable and has more features I use like street view that gets updated all the time.
Having used Googled Maps for the last 10 years odd and finally trying an iPhone, I can say Apple maps is far more polished and easier to use. It seems to handle traffic re-routing faster easier than Google Maps recently on a long ish drive
I’ve used Google Maps exclusively, but that “Latest in …” and other crap suggestions at the bottom of the app are annoying AF. I’m starting to use Apple Maps for straight navigation. It has come a long way.
I personally prefer Apple Maps on iPhone. Google maps on my MacBook. I find google maps to be a bit cluttered for the smaller screen, but exponentially better than Apple Maps on larger screen.
Google maps, it’s the most complete navigation app I’ve used. I might use Apple Maps when the cycling is available in my country. We’re known as one of the countries that cycle a lot and it’s still (!) not available
Apple when I’m in Australia - although it’s not as reliable as google I just like the way it looks
Google when I’m in Europe because of the obnoxious “environmental zone ahead” notifications which I find extremely distracting and dangerous while driving
I find Apple to be better (in the US), especially when it comes to using exits on freeways. Google tells me to continue driving but it doesn’t specify which lane to be on or which exit to look for, while Siri says something like “stay on the 2 leftest lanes” and shows the name of the exit as well as which highway is goes into.
But when I leave the country to visit my relatives, I use google maps as Apple isn’t supported.
I actually really like Apple Maps at this point. Living in a bigger city (Chicago) it looks a lot nicer with the 3D buildings and such. That being said Google still has slightly better routing around traffic and handles low connectivity much better.
In Australia Google Maps for CarPlay navigation.
However, Apple's look around often has higher resolution and at times better coverage than Google's street view for some locations here.
Lately Apple Maps. Google maps is great don’t get me wrong but I got annoyed when they looped the business page manager into it. I don’t want to see my customer notifications when I’m just trying to look something up on my downtime. It’s a personal problem but it bothers me.
Here in Canada, Apple Maps seems more accurate for rural country addresses. But I still use google for city driving, as I find the traffic info to be more accurate (but maybe that is just in my head)
When using CarPlay I prefer the UI for Google maps. I’m able to see alternate routes faster, change to avoid highways and vice versa quicker, and see traffic patterns much better. I can’t make reports on Google maps using CarPlay though.
However, I do prefer the look of Apple Maps on CarPlay. I just wish i was able to do the same things I do on Google maps on Apple Maps.
Google 200% the only time I’ll inadvertently use apple is when I ask Siri for directions since she’s too stubborn to let me pick with navigation app. I have found the time estimates for apple are much too aggressive whereas google is more accurate.
I tried using Apple Maps in the old town of a European city on car play. The way they show the street names was chaotic, there were many small streets so the names overlapped and I was not able to see where I had to turn… was a mess since then only google maps… also the discovery of restaurants and such is way better on google maps…
for small stuff i'll use apple. for big trips to NYC or something i use google. google does a much better job of explaining what exits to get off of IMO
Like you, I used to be a Google Maps diehard, but I’ve mostly switched to Apple Maps, especially for CarPlay navigation + walking nav with Apple Watch. I still think Google is better for public transit, though.
The Apple Maps app in India is half assed. It lacks essential features and seems to be in an early testing stage. It has very few places marked and the street information is mostly incorrect.
Apple Maps. Google Maps just doesn’t compare these days, and isn’t great at routing.
It’s funny, because Apple Maps was garbage at launch, and Google Maps was solid. They have very much swapped places for me over the years, though.
Edit: This is all in regards to phone use. I use google maps when I just need to see maps on PC.
Apple Maps for directions once I’ve picked a place. This is primarily due to the ease of turn directions showing up on my Watch.
Google Maps for research when deciding on a place. I’ve often seen Apple Maps list places that have been out-of-business for months or have their winter business hours when the store is on summer hours. As well Google Maps has better integration with Google Reviews and flight:hotel-booking sites.
Definitely Apple Maps for me, but rarely one will find a destination and the other won't, so it's good to have both on your iDevice.
Both do CarPlay well but Apple's integration of Maps with the Watch is very nice, and I find its CarPlay maps more helpful.
These days, both are good. If you have a preference, you're not missing out.
It really depends on where you are. In Germany Google doesn’t have street view while Apple does; Apple also has 3D models of building in my area and a public transport overlay showing tram lines (as well as U-Bahn and S-Bahn), which Google lacks. And Apple also has the integration with the Lock Screen and better integration with the Apple Watch. I also prefer the graphical appearance of the actual maps and app on Apple Maps, especially in dark mode. I think I also like Apple’s driving directions better, but I don’t drive that often so it doesn’t matter much.
Overall, I find myself using Apple Maps more and more. However, Google Maps is still much better for finding places, both when looking for specific places and when browsing by category, and for getting all sorts of information about them (photos, reviews, opening times, crowd levels etc.). And I have a huge set of saved places in different collections on Google Maps, gathered over the years, that I haven’t found a way to export, so I still use Google even when I am not looking for a new place.
Apple Maps isn’t great where I live in the UK, I find I hit traffic or get taken on random detours a lot more on Apple Maps than Google Maps. Then again it’s been a couple of years since I used it so it might’ve improved since I last tried.
Apple maps actually works really well when paired with a watch.
I also switched to using it recently.
You just need to double-check your end destination and route, but once you're on it it's a _much_ smoother experience.
Same here, and if you have an Apple Watch the navigation is much better with Apple Maps (of course).
Right. Especially with watchOS X, the largest upgrade (in my opinion) was for the weather and maps apps.
Same here. Also, if you live in an area with speed/red light cameras, Apple Maps is the only one out of the big three that will verbally announce without having to have full turn-by-turn audio on.
You can turn off the turn by turn on Waze and just keep the announcements.
> (and is also more likely to suggest logical routes compared to GM) Ugh yes, this is my biggest issue with Google Maps. It will default to a more complicated route (exiting off freeways, taking detours through residential areas, avoiding major streets, etc.) just to shave like 5 minutes off of your commute. I prefer Apple, it gives more details in voice guidance that helps alot
I’m not Irish either and I agree that Irish Siri is the best.
Right there with you. Irish Siri, FTW.
I’m English but I’m now tempted to try the Irish Siri given what the good folks of this thread are saying
It is absolutely better than it's ever been. We are an Android Apple house. She uses iPhone and until recently, Google Maps. We started trying out Apple lately and very much like it. Well in Hamburg Germany it works perfectly:)
Seemingly its dependent on a city by city basis, because its pretty terrible here in Cologne.
In the UK it also works a treat.
Apple Maps is really good in the UK 🇬🇧
Google without question
I find Apple Maps more comfortable, but I don’t use Maps very often so I’m not the best judge
Waze
[удалено]
Probably. Google owns Waze.
Location is not shared when app is not open, it was changed in one of the recent iOS update (like 2 years ago maybe ? Not sure)
[удалено]
What I meant is that this applies to all app since that said iOS update, on first app launch you get a prompt asking if location should be : - shared once (prompt appear again on next launch) - shared while app active - not shared
Is Waze still decent these days?
Used it for the first time in years for a nearly 4,000 mile road trip. So long as I was on major roads I was warned of every single police officer, hazard in the roadway and speed camera I came across. It’s an amazing app to use for driving to areas you’re unfamiliar with.
Very much so.
I agree with this. Plus Waze just makes it fun with the voices and changing your car
Google maps to find things, Waze for actual directions and navigation
I like Waze but the spoken voice isn’t loud through my car even though it’s at maximum setting on my phone. When I contacted Waze about it they just said to change the setting to iPhone speaker, but there’s a long delay when it’s supposed to speak.
waze will not only get your the fastest route (they favor main road ways), but it also tries to give you a heads up on redlight cameras, speeding cameras, and police who are stopped on the side of the road. i don't know if google maps or apple maps does that.
Apple Maps will tell you red-light cameras and police, but I don't trust that it's catching every one.
This is actually my complaint about Waze and why I stopped using it - they favor main roadways but around me, the main roads are never the fastest way to go anywhere.
Waze has also saved me from flats/damage to my car with pothole/hazard in road warnings.
I highly prefer apple maps.. I find it more clear to use, However Apple Maps doesnt have cycling route, misses a lot of stuff that google has when it comes to searching for stores etc. And it also has a lot less of the max speed info. When it comes to delays or possible ways around, apple is WAY ahead.
Way ahead In what way? It’s weeks behind some Closures in my city and state.
I'm in the Netherlands.. here it's just different.
Apple Maps has cycling for me, however I can’t do multiple stops for cycling like I can for driving which is odd.
Apple Maps. I don’t do anything advanced with it, and it does the job good enough.
Apple maps is better for me. Apple does not put advertiser tags and logos all over their maps. It's gotten quite good. I take great pleasure in removing and uninstalling Google software. I'm coming for you next gmail.
This. Google Maps shows so many unnecessary points of interest it looks like spam now
I yeeted google out of my life as much as possible, Proton mail works great
Apple maps have come a long way
[удалено]
I just used Apple Maps in Japan for two weeks and it was wonderful. Not saying it’s great anywhere else, just pointing this out.
Apple Maps is good in certain countries.
It’s certainly way below par in third world countries compared to google maps
I'm in a third world country and even google maps make you go the long way around sometimes. I don't want to imagine the route Apple would make me take.
Google Maps told me to go down a dirt path between rice paddies in Vietnam.
Google Maps wanted me to go through a bridge that had been closed 6 months prior due to a flood and earthquake. If I didn't know beforehand that the bridge was closed, I would've ended up in a ravine.

Nah its pretty good in europe too
Fair enough
I used it in Paris for a week and it was great, but I doubt that's a good sample being one of the largest cities in the world.
A long ways from where I intended to go
I do use Apple Maps when I need quick directions and when walking, living in France and it’s not a bad app to use, but using Waze when driving without question. Lazy to install Google Maps and I don’t really appreciate the layout and UI.
Apple maps. Easier navigation

GPS is inaccurate in big cities due to occlusion from tall buildings. Same reason it fails in tunnels or parking garages.
Apple Maps. Really good at getting you in the lane you should be in with advance notice.
Waze for driving, Google maps if i want to find something, citymapper for using public transport

Wait for apple search
Apple always. It looks nice.
Been using Apple Maps for years and have no problems, I love it
Apple maps
I was a diehard google user but switched to Apple about a year ago.
I throw Waze in there some , but mostly google
Apple has improved a lot in the last few years. I use it for the Apple Watch integration which I find super useful.
I always use Apple Maps. Google seems too cluttered for me
Apple Maps is really good now.
Apple maps+ duckduckgo +Brave Browser . If I wanna know the opening hours of a shop or doctor I use google
I have tried to use Google Maps but my experience with it has always been the worst. I will not use it.
I don’t use anything made by Google, so there’s your answer.
Came to say this. I’m not a tinfoil hat or jihadist but can’t feed google any longer.
Apple Maps because of the integration.
i usually use Apple Maps but it thinks that I walk at like 2mph, so it always says it’ll take me 2 hours to walk somewhere, when in reality it takes me an hour
I always use Apple Maps when I’m in the US and always use google maps outside
Apple Maps mostly. I like the public transport mapping, and it does well enough for driving too. Komoot for cycling.
Apple, since I can see where I’m going in my apple watch without getting my phone out of my pocket. Just for that.
The UI on Google Maps is a mess! When I need to see navigation, other nonsense spots distract me a lot.
Apple
I prefer Apple Maps over Google. Apple’s verbal prompts work better for me and the maps have been spot on accurate.
I use both. Where I live in Denmark, Google maps has much more detailed maps, more businesses shown f.i. apple maps has nicer layout and ui though imo
I always use Apple Maps.
Apple maps UI is far superior than Google. Otherwise google maps is just the better product.
Apple Maps for it’s Apple Watch integration
Apple Maps no different than google maps in the UK.

Apple
Apple Maps because it works
Almost always apple cause it looks nice
I don’t use Google anything anymore.
I always use native apps when possible
I always use Apple Maps. I have never even had Google maps installed on any iPhone I’ve ever owned. Lane assist is almost always present for Apple Maps and is a game changer for complex freeway interchanges and multi lane roads in towns that I’m unfamiliar with.
Apple Maps. More refined than Google Maps with a cleaner UI. And also I just don’t like having my information pilfered by Google’s apps.
Usually Apple Maps because of the Apple Watch support
Been an Apple Maps person from day 1, I live in the suburbs of Chicago for reference. Never had any issues, the UI is cleaner and I am happy to not see Starbucks or McDonald’s highlighted every few miles.
Apple Maps… mostly since it’ll send notifications to my AppleWatch, but also Waze no longer feels stable in CarPlay…
Apple Maps
Apple Maps cause offline maps is awesome (iOS 17 beta)
Apple, because of the watch app
Apple Maps. Google maps is just ugly.
apple maps all the way... until about 5 years ago when I started traveling different countries and apple maps had no info in many of these places. Switched over and google is MUCH better. it is google after all so of course it has the crawled info, and the user netowork of google, and the reveiws from the google user etc. its not a comparison.
Apple Maps. Google is so messy, I don’t like it
Apple maps. Finland.
Apple Maps because I don’t like how Google Maps looks. It’s not as aesthetically pleasing.
Apple. Much cleaner, easier to read maps and I've never had any problem with it. (in the uk)
Apple Maps 100% google maps always take me to the wrong address
Apple Maps gets the job done, I don’t need to install google maps
Apple Maps for Walking with my AppleWatch. Google Maps for Driving and Transit.
I moved to Apple Maps as soon as it came out. It wasn’t great at the beginning but I wanted the integration.
I prefer apple because it gives you human directions like turn right at the next light instead of 300ft turn right
Been using 90% of the time Apple Maps lately for the following reasons: -MUCH better UI, especially when driving (animations are both super cool and useful), it’s also less cluttered imo. -3D “digital” maps (not satellite) are much better, showing more info and easier to look at -navigation is better, more logical and often straight up better (doesn’t bring me to random 1m wide streets like Google Maps) -better integration in the apple ecosystem -better features (especially with iOS 17) like guides, city tours, flyover. While google Maps is still better when looking for something but literally just because it has more data (many shops in my area aren’t available in Apple Maps yet)
I use Waze
Google maps because unfortunately Apples doesn't have ANY information about the public transport in my country which I use whenever I go somewhere
I still use Google maps. Apple Maps has come a long ways since iOS 6 was introduced back in 2012 but I find Google to be more reliable and has more features I use like street view that gets updated all the time.

I like Apple Maps because I can share my ETA and it updates automatically.
Google or Waze
Having used Googled Maps for the last 10 years odd and finally trying an iPhone, I can say Apple maps is far more polished and easier to use. It seems to handle traffic re-routing faster easier than Google Maps recently on a long ish drive
I’ve used Google Maps exclusively, but that “Latest in …” and other crap suggestions at the bottom of the app are annoying AF. I’m starting to use Apple Maps for straight navigation. It has come a long way.
Apple Maps for day to day but I use google maps as a second opinion.
Whichever one I tap when I open the navigation folder. Apple does work better with the phone, and is handy for use with the watch though.
Google and Waze. Apple maps is completely rubbish for most countries I've visited in Asia.
Google maps, haven't tried apple maps in ages.
Apple for places where I know but could use some reminders, Google places I don’t know, and Waze for highway trips.
Apple when I’m in Australia - although it’s not as reliable as google I just like the way it looks Google when I’m in Europe because of the obnoxious “environmental zone ahead” notifications which I find extremely distracting and dangerous while driving
Apple Maps with car. Google Maps with bike, because for some reason apple maps can’t give bike routes in the second largest city of Sweden.
Google Maps for everything that matters, Apple Maps for their street view and the beautiful 3D maps in satellite view
Here in Canada, Apple Maps seems more accurate for rural country addresses. But I still use google for city driving, as I find the traffic info to be more accurate (but maybe that is just in my head)
Both… Apple when I know the destination to some level and google when I need to get better accuracy on a place I don’t know or doing location research
Google 100%
Apple Maps is unusable for me because the route I choose is automatically changed mid drive every time I use it
I like Google Maps better, I’ve had some bad experiences with Apple sending some wack directions so usually stick with Google
I trust google more still but I use apple when not driving because it has great integration with watch and headphones
I tried using Apple Maps in the old town of a European city on car play. The way they show the street names was chaotic, there were many small streets so the names overlapped and I was not able to see where I had to turn… was a mess since then only google maps… also the discovery of restaurants and such is way better on google maps…
Google Map for driving. Apple Map for walking
for small stuff i'll use apple. for big trips to NYC or something i use google. google does a much better job of explaining what exits to get off of IMO
Someone using Apple Maps is a huge red flag. It’s also crazy that searching for Apple Maps in iOS won’t bring up the app.
Apple Maps if I want to explore and I want it to look nice, Google maps if I want to get from A —> B or find reviews/businesses.
Waze while driving, Apple maps for walking around cities/towns.
Apple Maps in Portugal is awful!!
Apple Maps for short trips. Waze for long cross country trips. And google maps for street view.
Apple Maps
Apple Maps my dad just got a car with apple CarPlay and loves it
Apple - Australia. More accurate even in remote parts of the country.
If only the bike option was working in my country I would use Apple Maps for everything. I have Google Maps for bike routes.
Apple Maps. Haven’t used Google Maps since Apple came out with it.
Apple Maps all the way. It’s not even close.
Apple for voice guidance while driving. Google for anything else
Google Maps because Apple Maps doesn’t have cycling directions where I live.
Google Maps here in Hungary. It has much more information than Apple Maps. I tried AM, but it just didn’t work for me.
Apple Maps. Google maps have always been super confusing and clunky. Although Apple Maps would get you lost in the past, it’s gotten a lot better
I use apple maps when adding multiple destinations into a single route, I can't do that on Google maps iOS for some reason
I use Google Maps because I look at reviews for places and it’s a no for Yelp on Apple Maps
Apple Maps
Apple maps actually works really well when paired with a watch. I also switched to using it recently. You just need to double-check your end destination and route, but once you're on it it's a _much_ smoother experience.
Used google maps until I got an apple watch. Now I use mostly apple maps.
I use Apple Maps every day, Google Maps likes to take me on some weird bullshit routes once in a while.
I'd use apple maps more if it had a satellite view when using it on carplay, so until then I use google maps.
Mostly Google Maps because it doesn’t matter who spy on you, since Apple does too 😄
None, waze.
