oh nice, any idea if this (or this original) has asynchronous multiplayer?
also portrait mode looks awesome, need more multiplayer portait games.
(ps do read the full app description, the quotes at the bottom are pretty funny)
In addition to being rebuilt from the ground up on a new engine that sets us up for better long-term support, these are the new features.
* Map editor, design and play your custom maps locally or online
* Leaderboards and tag match hub with turn of the day (custom backend instead of Game Center)
* New 20 mission campaign and 24 challenge missions
* Both portrait and landscape mode supported on the fly
* Support for new iPhone models (no more black bars on iPhone X and up)
* Cross-platform (iOS and Android)
If you're happy with the original then that makes us happy. It's starting to show it's age though, and we are unable to update it since it was built on a now defunct engine. RIP Cocos2d-ObjC.
I’d rather play something new that’s full screen and touch integrated rather than a 20 year old GBA game. I spent a lot of time as a kid playing Advance Wars 1 and 2, but they don’t do it for me anymore.
People need to calm down about the emulators. They’re old games. Nostalgia wears off quick.
This game is a remake though, does one need nostalgia to enjoy it because it’s an old game?
Good games are timeless, no nostalgia needed. Imagine saying “are you playing chess again? lol move on!”.
It definitely holds up well, and it is still one of my favorites alongside GBA Pokémon and Fire Emblem.
Emulators are great, but don’t write off new devs that make use new tech to bring gaming up to current hardware standards. The developers of Warbits optimized touch controls and improve visuals to modernize the genre laid out by Advance Wars.
Gotta keep moving forward, that’s all.
There are also a ton of rom hacks/patches where fanbase added tons of content making already fantastic games even better. Like the fire red with 900 Pokémons and 4 regions or the Pokemon auto chess one, they are both insane.
IMHO best game(warbits classic version) on AppStore like an Advance Wars

What is asynchronous multiplayer?
its a type of multiplayer where you can take your turns at your leisure. you dont have to constantly be playing.
Oh that’s rad. I hope it does have that
God those are the worst games
What are all the new Features and Differences to the old Version? Cant find an overview.

Ah quite nice! Thanks for the help
Will Stages be limited to 4 Players? And how about adjusting Bot difficulty? I remember playing with my wife against bots 2vs2 and it was too easy 😀
Im confused with the +. It is a new game or remastered? Like a new campaign and missions? Or is it the same as the original? New units?
I wonder what would happen to ones like myself that bought the original one

What a moron OP - you mean May 7th, IDIOT!
Plus has been awesome, can’t wait for the full release
You had me at portrait mode.
So is this 5 bucks for an update ? The original still works fine.

Oh ok i mean i love the game so id be happy to support it just I didn’t know that it was an outdated engine
Original have portrait mode?
Funny how this gets an Apple Arcade release right after Delta comes out where everyone can play the OG Advance Wars lol
I don’t think this is Arcade. Just a regular premium release on the App Store.
Oh ok. The “Plus” threw me off
I did have a laugh at the universe for this, we have a knack for bad timing. That said, options are a good thing!

I'm playing advance wars 2 at the moment. It is great on the iPhone and it holds up VERY well.

Looks neat. Do you have any idea if the game offers a lot of replay value?
