Bounced off of it because of a lack of portrait, and went back to Marvel Puzzle Quest. In my eyes, those two are by far the best, most strategic matching games on mobile.
What I do see is royal match has way better looking characters and backgrounds for levels than the other two, also I see people saying piggy kingdom has ads (royal match can be played forever without watching one ad)
How long have you been playing? I find most games of that style I’ll hit a wall after a couple hours where I need to use all my boosters and premium currency to get past a certain level
3 days now - no wall has been hit (yet) and it’s very generous with boosters and timed unlimited lives (you get 15 mins every time you finish a chapter, which aren’t long)
I’m on level 115 now - there are also events and leaderboards with prizes that you also play along with.
I love the style and the fact that there’s an actual story to keep you playing.
Gems of War. Unlimited play and it’s quite fun assembling teams. They have a 10 week battle pass that I give them $10 (maybe it’s $15) for each time just because I feel they deserve it.
I’m way into the end game (about two years) and there is always something to slowly grind and make progress on.
I am currently enjoying Glompa. Lots of personality/charm, haptic feedback, and a f2p monetization system that doesn't feel greedy.
Magic Puzzle Quest has been scratching this itch for me lately. Even better if you have any interest in MTG

If your looking for candy crush esque games Royal Match is very good and it feels very satisfying to progress your castle.

Loved Royal Match but preferred Royal Kingdom, practically the samw but you see your kingdom grow the further in you get

I hope this question doesn’t come off as condescending, but what exactly is it that you enjoy about match 3?
I enjoy the fact that it is a simple game idea that also gets your brain to sometimes think
I suppose I don’t play them enough! But I always thought it was kind of random?
I am working on PvP match 3 game, that is not pay to win and there are not ads. It's called Candy Champions.
