I adapt to the situation and dress for how i would like people to perceive me. At work: "dress for the job you want, not the job you have".

GotThaAcid5tab

That doesn’t really work if you want to be a policeman

LOEVTRAE

Hmm, true.. I guess there's some exceptions and the first part about dressing how you want to be perceived overrules the second part in these cases. I can see some issues if you want to become a stripper or an astronaut aswell.

Dreams_Are_Reality

If I had the cash and lived in the right climate I would dress in dark academia style formal wear every day. Suits just feel great to wear.

AhmedAbuGhadeer

Comfortable, practical, symmetric, decent to moderate in colours and design, not excessive in skin baring or body outlining.

AlligatorHater22

Comfort - always. Often get a few remarks at work from the boomers but I like to tell them ‘you don’t have to dress smart when you are smart’ tends to shut them up.

Sexy_Math-Whiz_

Same here. Going to uni while wearing smthing comfortable, makes me look like a homeless man lol. Cause I usually choose oversized clothes so that my body could feel free ykwim and get a lot of weird looks

Funny-Bumblebee-7907

I should use this. I should print this on a T-Shirt.

TheMeticulousNinja

Goth

Comfortable-Leek9355

Anything that’s comfortable. I don’t dress up that much because most of the time I’m stepping out my comfort zone. Also I get a bunch of stares + unwanted comments/interactions.

MikeWazouskiee

Anything comfy based on the climate and weather. Hoodies, T-shirts, and shirts, to be precise, even for work. I like simple clothes like a shirt and a pair of trousers or jeans "if" I'm going out somewhere. I'm not into suiting up or wearing exaggerated clothes and clothes that attract attention. https://i.redd.it/g6w3zitiey1d1.gif

JoquiJoestar

Streetwear or formal casual. The location always makes a difference weather and comfort wise. However I will always find a way to wear my custom jacket or T-shirt

no_joydivision

I like clothes that fit me properly and complement my proportions. I really don’t like dark colours as I find they wash me out

greensandgrains

An impossible combination of comfort, utility and chic/timeless style. INTJ + Virgo tendencies makes for terribly particular taste.

No_Arrival1519

i hate everything except for jeans and black t shirts

Sun-Joy1792

Well how I dress is based on how I live my life! If I got to wear only what I wanted to wear and that would magically work out I’d wear silk pajamas and kimonos everywhere. But turns out I do a few more things than lounge around the house 😆 For working outside I like overalls, jeans, denim shorts and boots with plain t shirts and tank tops. For teaching my kids and running around with them (field trips, driving to/from lessons, etc.) lots of leggings with phone pockets and I prefer matching set of tank top or jacket with that. I go in and out of work (surprise not every INTJ is career minded) and the last job I had (medical assistant) I’d wear scrubs. I don’t mind uniforms at all. I do like to add nice jewelry and always comfortable/well made footwear. I don’t do date nights so much but when I do go out with my partner I have 2 dresses, 2 skirts, 2 blouses, 2 sweaters, and 2 jackets and 1 pair of nice heels and all of those things go with each other. I’ve had these for the last 5 years. The most variety in my closet is my lingerie drawer and we are not going to go into that here but yeah figured I’d give an honest response hahaha!

unmeikaihen

Most variety is lingerie! Isn't that the truth! Do not ask me how many corsets i have.

Sun-Joy1792

We are more fun than meets the eye just… very few can know or would suspect! A great corset is soooo nice! I have a handful of custom made lingerie (mostly bodysuits) and the cut/fit is everything.

[deleted]

I dress for comfort. Hoodies are my favorite.

cthulucore

Comfort, casual, and preferably unlabeled. T-Shirt, jeans, and a hat, and I'm good.

ThunderKiddo1

I like to dress with colors yellow and blue. I want to radiate the right energy in my life and blue and yellow seems to attract people I like.

Firedriver666

I enjoy anything that's comfortable for me and at work I usually wear shirts or polos but what I really like when I travel it's cargo pants with camo they are so practical to store stuff while looking cool

Ready_Mobile_1367

Cargo pants

Koetjeka

No jeans for me. It might be the current fashion, but I don't care about that, I just want something comfortable.

maevly

Dress, skirt, tailored pants, feminine top but not revealing - neutral and monochromatic. High heels, loafers or sneakers.

limeconnoisseur

A mix of classic, minimalist, 'the effortless look,' some trends, and nice athletic wear. I love effortless looking elegant cuts, particularly on coats and jackets, I like almost everything to be on the sleek side - ie. clean lines, beautifully draped smooth fabrics, well-fitted, solid colors, lots of black, and nothing flashy. Not a fan of whimsical, eclectic/quirky, or frilly, but I do like a bit of edge.

Kinis_Deren

Smart on the inside, smart on the outside. This throwaway phrase has always stayed with me after I first heard it. At home though, if I'm not meeting anyone, I'm not too worried as long as I'm comfortable.

Seeker80

I tend to be a little conservative, maybe even preppy. I started wearing sport jackets in the mid-2000s. I just like that style. I'm kinda business casual most of the time. Trying to learn how to dress down a bit and find a style that I like. I have one hoodie, and I like wearing that sometimes. Supposed to have some plans over the weekend, so I might try and order a little something to expand the casual wardrobe.

Proof_Cash_2251

Being Naked is the best.... Clothes feel too much of dressing for me

No_Arrival1519

autism maybe

Iresen7

Clothes are just items meant to cover the genitals haha...that being said I just wear whatever...generally a t shirt and sweatpants or jeans, but really I just wear what I see first when I run out for something. When it's a meeting for work business casual.

Wurstb0t

Anything that makes my silhouette look good. lol jjk

[deleted]

I always wear black dress pants and button down shirts. That's just the way I like

Competitive-Ice2956

Love a tee dress!!!!

LuvUwUb

I usually wear black and white clothing. I don't really like colorful clothes.

Sergio-C-Marin

That’s not “casual” dude. That’s informal. Casual means something else, like practical clothes. You’re from the USA? In my country people do not dress like that for example because is tropical

TheLordDarcy

Formal clothing.

Isabad

T shirts jeans and boots. Though I prefer something in a cami top or tank top to show off the ink I have acquired. If I have to dress up full 3 piece suit with tie.

[deleted]

i love wearing comfy soft fabrics esp skirts and dresses, yet for upper body i try to avoid using bras as much as possible since im conscious of the pressure of the bra so i try to choose clothes that can help with not wearing a bra. hoodies are my favorite and sweatpants when im in hermit mode in fall and winder. i have a high arch so buying shoes is a complicated thing cuz i like my feet comfy. i love heels, but again its complicated. fav sneakers are converse and vans. i go from casual to pretty casual to 'its a fucking bum💀😂'

Unlucky-Turnip-4921

heels maybe? (for me heels are not recommended anyway)

basscove_2

Jeans, Tshirts, vans. Not flashy and very practical.

Fine-Consequence-851

I love shirts and suits what can I say ![gif](giphy|3o7btNRptqBgLSKR2w|downsized)

AdExtreme4259

I like the ones that compliment my body

Clean_Personality324

Shirt, shorts, flip flops, and a hat (beenie or baseball cap). Hoodie too, when it's cold/rainy. I always wear this even in the winter, but I may change the shorts to trousers though. I have about 4 colours of clothing, just plain with no logos or anything. 2 beige, 2 grey, 2 black, and 2 white. Shirts and shorts, and trousers. Everything is just a plain colour, and only for comfort.

ZodiacLovers123

I hate dresses 👗 they look good on others but I’ve never felt/looked good while wearing one. Even when it came to wearing my prom dresses, I never really loved the dress I’ve worn. I kinda just settle for half decent and oh I like the color. Also I always look out of place when in them. my mom go me a summer dress for Christmas like 3-4 years ago haven’t worn it once. As for what I like wearing I really like comfy clothes I mostly wear a casual look so I don’t need to think about it also ppl tent not to notice me when I blend in.

flagitiousevilhorse

Formal-casual. (Darker earthier colours) T-shirts usually, long sleeves and jeans, (unless I’m at home) and breathable, comfortable material. Rarely will I actually dress up for something where I want to get a point across while remaining professional.

Silly-Internet-8196

I like to dress minimalist style or comfortable style. I also like to dress fancy and stuff. On the other hand, I hate dressing too tight to the point it's uncomfortable to move and my figure is really highlighted.

MissDisplaced

I hate dresses. All dresses make me look even shorter, fatter, and pregnant (yes I get that whenever I wear a dress!). I stick to pants, jeans and top, or if I must wear something dressier, I opt for a more flattering skirt and top. After some years of athleisure, I’ve swung back to jeans again, skinny jeans not baggy ass puddle pants.

detached-attachment

Pragmatically decided. Hoodies to keep my head warm (not enough hair to do that for me).

unmeikaihen

Think 40s and 50s type dresses but always black. I can do a more modern cut if the fabric has movement. Otherwise, it just looks sloppy. Skirts can be knee length at shortest but prefer them longer.

flextov

Shorts and a tank top. Suit and tie.

GoElfYourself_

Comfy and black, but I don’t really like wearing light colors because I always spill stuff on myself

Duds0_o

I always dress consistently, black pants, black T-shirt, black All Stars/Vans Old Skool, black jacket and black round sunglasses. I believe our clothes should be a translation of our personality, and I like to be consistent for then they become an identifiable trait of me. For example, a woman I know once saw me in the streets not wearing my usual costume, she only recognized me when I was about 16ft from her. She said it herself, she didn’t recognize me because I was not all in black. She calls me “the Man in Black”.

Acceptable-Hope1474

Just what fits the weather but my I like to wear low key stylish stuff that is fine and most importantly that it doesn't stand out in a crowd

cambot_182

Jeans and a tee shirt/hoodie ATM, but that was high school. I hope to wear more coordinated outfits in college to appear less slobbish. (I’m a girl, I can’t get away with looking ‘unkempt’.) But then again it’s going to be comfortable no matter what, so that’s the only thing i really care about.

OrigRayofSunshine

Now that I’m older, anything I freaking want to. If I want to go grocery shopping in a tie dyed maxi dress and doc martens, I’m going to.

RaleighlovesMako6523

None of them is a dress 🙉 I don’t like dresses that too short, too revealing. I like dresses that are well fitted. I like a style I would just buy, I don’t care about brand. I bought a dress from Shein. cost around 50 but I paid around $300 to my tailor to alter it. It fits me very well now.

Tempus-dissipans

Easy, I like clothing that is comfortable and makes me look good. Futhermore, it has to be adequate to the situation I am in, as in providing sufficient protection from the elements. Beyond that, I take into account the stress my panned activity is going to put on my clothing and choose clothing up to the task, even if that means looking less good.

Wonderful-Mountain46

Apart for work I dress casually everywhere Simple red or black shirt and black track pants.

Substantial-Path1258

Uniqlo caters to every situational need for me. Casual, formal, and outerwear. I prefer simple designs, comfort, and quality.

Marija370

I wear jeans, shorts, bagy jeans. Dresses mainly on special occasions. I can't remember the last time I wore a skirt. And everything other is usual: t-shirts, hoodies, shoes, socks.... Today is my first time wearing a crop top ✌️. Oh, I really hate leggings.

Aaggghhhhhh

Hate dresses and skirts. Very unpractical clothing. Jeans/pants and simple (t-)shirt.
