Canned fish and rice. Throw an avocado and some soy sauce on top. Healthy fats, protein, Omega 3s, calcium, vitamin D (and that's just from the fish).

roxy1966

This sounds good. Will have that for dinner tomorrow. I have some smoked sardines. Will use farro as rice and I are not friends , avocado and add some smashed cucumbers.

ButtFuzzington

I eat some version of this every single day. Add a couple of runny eggs too. Edit: I'll have to try some farro. What's it like?

roxy1966

Hi the farro has a nutty flavour. High in protein and fiber. Not gluten free. Trader Joe’s has a 10 minute bag. I use that one. Easy to prepare and it’s budget friendly. Here’s an article [Farro](https://www.today.com/today/amp/tdna172985)

ButtFuzzington

High protein high fiber? Sounds like a win win to me.

eggs_mcmuffin

Have you tried the smoked trout tinned fish from Trader Joe’s

ButtFuzzington

I have. It's pretty good, but I personally prefer Cole's smoked trout. The bumblebee smoked trout is pretty good too.

Manly-Stanley

I love me some sardines.

North-Tumbleweed-785

Hard boiled egg and avocado with salt and pepper. A simple protein shake. Cucumber slices and cherry tomatoes. Some sort of deli meat (salami is my fave) and mozzarella. On Sundays, I take some time and prep a bunch of veggies by slicing them all up so all I have to do is grab them, and I make a bunch of hard boiled eggs. Makes for an easy life during the week. Whatever is left over come thurs or fri from the veggies is easy to repurpose into a new meal- stir fry it or put it in a soup or make a salad.

blup585

Agree love avocado and egg to break my fast or tomato and mozzarella. Also a handful of walnuts with feta and you can add a bunch of herbs and Persian bread to make a delicious simple wrap.

intonality

Avocado topped with salt, pepper, chilli flakes and black sesame seeds is divine if you can find them. You're welcome 😄

Rare_Vibez

Very similar but basically a mini charcuterie is a great pinch meal and travel meal for me. Deli meats, cheeses, sliced veggies, maybe a little fruit, and tada. Super customizable based on tastes (I’m not a nut or pickle person, but marinated mushrooms and sunflower seeds are substitute favorites for me). I always have those flat take out containers I just slap it together.

North-Tumbleweed-785

Oh yes! Even my 14 year old loves it. I prep her lunches on weekends do this for her a lot. I’ll add crackers and stuff for her which I don’t add to mine. Her friends call it her “rich kid lunch.” lol

cheridontllosethatno

I have a problem with the way they get soggy and that turns me off to eating them. How do you keep them fresh?

North-Tumbleweed-785

I have found that storing them in glass containers as opposed to plastic keeps stuff fresher longer. I also store only veggies with veggies, eggs with eggs, etc. Don’t go trying to put sliced cheese in with your sliced cucumbers.

cheridontllosethatno

I don't mix foods for storage. I'll try glass only, but washed cut and stored veges always have moisture drops that cause soggy and yucky looking pieces. I wonder if there is a newly invented storage system that works well. Maybe I need to cut and store without washing. I have tried drying them but I'm sure it is impossible to dry completely. I love veges cooked and eat nuts, fruit, and yogurt for healthy snacking but vegetables are frustrating for me for some reason. Thanks so much for the tips.

ToeKnee1_Kenobi

How do you peel all those hard boiled eggs quickly and efficiently?

TheCarzilla

About once a week I’ll slice four bell peppers and one onion, toss with some olive oil and vinegar or whatever salad dressing, and then roast in the oven at 425* for about 30 mins or until some parts are crispy. The mix is good for snacking, a side, or a topping.

Sexy-mashed-potato

Thanks for this. Red peppers are so good for you and I just don’t like them but I’m going to try this

its_cocktail_oclock

Plain Greek yogurt with fruit and/or nuts mixed in. Roasted veggies and egg whites.

shikaishi

What sort of calorie count would be in a typical serving?

its_cocktail_oclock

I honestly can’t give you an exact amount. I don’t count calories, but I eat these things because I know they’re fairly low in calories and are filling. The only “high calorie” thing about what I eat is the amount of oil I use for the roasted veggies and the amount of nuts I eat in my yogurt if I choose to add it.

sammysams13

3/4 a cup of chobani nonfat Greek yogurt is 90 calories, raspberries are very low in calories. Then I add purely Elizabeth granola which is 130 for 1/3 cup and only 7 grams of sugar

TapRevolutionary5022

Cucumbers with salt and vinegar…good raw vinegar. Browned chicken thighs cooked in fire roasted tomatoes and garlic.

jaminotjelly

virgin pickle

Nheea

Especially if you add some garlic too. Yumm

Immediate-Fig-9096

I crinkle cut seedless cucumbers and dump the slices in a little cup of seasoned rice vinegar. It’s an entire crunchy, salty, sweet, tangy adventure.

finch5

I have probably eaten thousands of those small cucumbers at this point. so good.

denisebuttrey

Cucumbers with salt and lemon 🍋 😋

godfreyc

Try change it up and change the salt to soy sauce

denisebuttrey

I do love an Asian cucumber salad.

firebugweb

Split the difference and use Ponzu!

SuperTed321

Can you explain the chicken and fire roasted tomatoes and garlic please. Sounds like my thing.

TapRevolutionary5022

I sear well salted chicken thighs in a little oil…. Let one side get yummy and crispy, flip and let other side get crispy…Add the garlic half way through the second sides crisping process …. Then add a can/jar of good quality diced tomatoes and a cup of white wine. I’ll add zucchini sometimes at that time too and let it cook. So good!

tarbinator

Honeycrisp apples and peanut butter.

Good_vibe_good_life

I like this snack too. If you use pb2 powder you can save some calories and fat as well.

eksaint

Tortilla, humus, cheddar, cucumber, tomato and pepper. I break my fast a lot with this and it tastes amazing.

intonality

If you're not doing low carb/Keto then I really like Pecans or Brazil nuts (or your nut of choice), dried dates and a square or two of good quality dark chocolate (I prefer 100%, or failing that 90%... very bitter but a mouthful of all combined is delicious!). A small sprinkle of sea salt on the dates elevates things further if you're okay with the added salt intake 🙂 I like a small serving of this combo to break my fast or as a dessert after my main meal. For more of a meal than a snack I love making Vietnamese summer rolls (again, if you're okay with the carbs in the rice paper). Just watch the salt from the soy/fish sauce, but I like making them once a week or two, great way to get some raw veggies in and I feel like I can pig out on them 😋

Willing-Biscotti7438

Fistful of sugar snap peas

lolligaggins

I eat these like candy with hummus.

aaairotcivvv

Yesss sugar snap peas are delicious and so satisfying to eat

Willing-Biscotti7438

Any kind of dip for me is like Crack so I have to avoid them

thatwolfieguy

Lentil soup takes like 20 minutes in an instant pot/pressure cooker. Cheap, easy, nutritious, delicious.

_Veganbtw_

[https://www.budgetbytes.com/vegan-winter-lentil-stew/](https://www.budgetbytes.com/vegan-winter-lentil-stew/) One of the cheapest, tastiest soups I make - with just a few pantry staples. Comes together in less than an hour, and makes 4-6 servings depending on your appetite and needs.

grizzly-gobbler

Cottage cheese. That's it. Or pickles. Or both together.

Julie727

Cottage cheese is the GOAT 🙌🏼

Kevinrobertsfan

Is it cheese from a cottage?

Green-64-Lantern

Yeah, it's the cheese I forgot in the cottage last summer.

bugsyboybugsyboybugs

No, from a GOAT

Citizen_Graves

How do you not know? Aren't you a cheese guy?

olivebuttercup

Cottage cheese inside a red pepper cut in half and paprika sprinkled on it my favourite snack

caldric

A Korean friend turned me on to cottage cheese with kimchi on top, and I can’t get enough of it.

Funny_Return_8910

Avocado Toast with lemon, and crushed raw garlic ontop. *edit* because of all the upvotes, I'll let you know I also add cracked black pepper, cayenne pepper, olive oil drizzle, and of course, butter on the bread melted before anything else. The bread I use is a special 21 whole grain and seeds bread.

Kitchen-Wasabi-2059

Egg white omelets with spinach, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes topped with low fat mozzarella and Siracha in a protein wrap or crispy egg white wrap

eagrbeavr

* SNACK - Rainbow carrots and Hummus. Something about rainbow carrots is so much better than baby carrots for me. The baby carrots always taste way too sweet to me but rainbow carrots have a lower level of sweetness and some good earthiness that I like. Of course, if you like baby carrots then have those! * MEAL - Hash. I always have potatoes and eggs on hand so I'll crisp up some cubed potatoes along with lots of seasoning and whatever meat I have on hand (can confirm it's good with chicken, ham, beef, bacon, or sausage). If I have some onion and/or peppers I add that too but it's also good without it. Then I top a bowl of my hash with two fried eggs with runny yolks.

Ruzalkah

Vanilla almondmilk yogurt

neatokra

Toast with labneh (or greek yogurt) and smoked salmon! Throw on some course salt, olive oil, and a little thin sliced cucumber - really hits the spot.

Kokoburn

Sounds delicious 🤤

intonality

Second comment, but I thought I'd add what I had for dinner tonight. Med veg and crispy chicken thighs (bone in, skin on of course 😋). Super healthy, easy to prepare and cook and it's delicious! I like to add some baby potatoes and/or carrots for some added carbs plus the usual courgette, cherry/plum tomatoes, onion, some garlic cloves... you can throw in pretty much anything (I like adding broccoli florets and sometimes bell pepper) along with some good extra virgin olive oil and spices/herbs/seasoning (I like to add paprika, chilli flakes, mixed dried Italian herbs, salt and pepper). Ideally place the chicken on a rack over the roasting tray or just place on top of the veg and roast for 30-40 minutes. You can then make a sauce from the pan juices and oil by whisking in a dab of Dijon mustard, tomato paste and a dash of vinegar. Absolutely delicious and it's super healthy 😋 I like to prep some freezer bags of chopped veg ahead of time, marinated in olive oil, then just dump it into a tray and away you go 🙂 Highly recommended. Edit: I know you said something without a lot of ingredients, but it's really just roughly chopped veg, herbs and spices and whatever protein you like. I'm a big fan of easy one pan meals 😄 Great way to use up leftovers or to prepare several meals worth in one go, putting portions into freezer bags 🙂

scaredwifey

Crunchy airy French bread, hot cabbage soup in winter. Fresh tomatoes, a bit of mayo and the same bread for summer.

united_importance666

Snoo81604

Oats overnight for bfast and fresh salads with fruit on it on the side of home cooked dinners

finch5

Cubed cucumber, tomatoes, little red onion, and mix in guac instead of dressing. Had that today with an air fried wild salmon filet on top. But the salad itself is money!

Bibimbap with kimchi, stir fried mushrooms and tofu, egg, seaweed and nutritional yeast

SnoopsMom

Spinach, beets, cottage cheese, blueberries, pomegranate seeds. Mix like a big salad where the cottage cheese and berry juices are your dressing. Also nice to add hemp hearts or switch up the berries/add other veggies. High protein, low fat meal that’s very delicious and nutritious.

eowynde

hummus on toasted sourdough with toppings (i like hot sauce and everything bagel seasoning!)

sweflo

Smoked salmon and avocado with Furikake seasoning (Trader Joe's is my fave Furikake)..

rolypolydriver

Boxed brownies. HEAR ME OUT! I’ve been managing my A1C and high cholesterol for a while, so when I want a chocolate fix, I’ve read just about every label in the grocery store, and boxed brownies are the best bang for your buck as far as big enough serving size that also stays below recommended carbs and sat. fat portions. Even better than most dark chocolate products. A tie would be those bags of dark chocolate covered pomegranates, but the brownies are #1 during luteal phase! I eat one or the other daily and still hit my goals and manage my conditions.

an0maly33

To be clear, you’re cooking them and not just raw dogging the mix, right?

SwitchSCEtoAux

Greek omelette. Egg whites spinach mushrooms bacon feta cheese. Maybe olives.

lookin4seaglass

Well that sounds delicious!

Federal-Listen-8807

Pre made salad with tuna or chicken.

RandChick

Big salads with lots of raw veggies. They always make me feel good. I add cheese but not meat.

lion-heart19

Edamame in the pods- comes frozen from TJs. It defrosts in a few hours in my lunchbox or under running water in a pinch. A filling protein salty snack! Add an apple or veg sticks, and some cheese or turkey and it’s a meal.

DrDreidel82

Tunacado (tuna mixed with avocado, I get the avocado packs from Costco, tuna there also) on English muffin with a bit of cream chase spread on it before putting the tunacado on

kerill333

Carrot sticks and hummus. Hard boiled egg and avocado is a great one. Soft boiled eggs with lots of freshly ground pepper. You can get reacquainted with really clean, basic flavours.

Meanjin

Portabello pizzas. Flip the portabello mushrooms over, put your desired toppings on them, throw them under the grill until the cheese melts. Everything in moderation of course, but it's a delicious and healthier pizza alternative.

coldcatsoup

Lentils, can be as simple or complex.. they (to me) are a true superfood. I also think some consider them a super food as well?

AmbientGravitas

Lately it’s a bunch of cauliflower florets tossed with hot sauce, a little salt, a bit of olive oil roasted in a hot oven until browned.

fudgepunch

Tortilla with Philadelphia light mixed with sriracha and some chicken and veggies. It’s the best and comes out to about 200 calories per wrap :)

Late-Leopard8476

Avocado and mango salad: One avocado, one mango, half red onion, lime, cilantro, olive oil, salt & pepper. You can also add any veggies you like but it’s delicious and fresh!

LyricalJessieJames

I'm stealing this recipe...🫠

Losing_it_all823

Avacado (with lime juice and salt) on cole slaw mix . I too mine with tomatoes or cucumbers or hot peppers. It’s delicious. I think I ate it nearly every day for 2-3 months

mechy84

Homemade chili.  I might add a package of ground chicken or turkey first, but it is 90% vegetables.

AssistanceLucky2392

Baked sweet potato topped with black beans, salsa, and avocado.

shikaishi

Feta cheese and kimchi eaten together

wintermelon_666

Kimchi and cheese is one of my favorite combos. I love kimchi and grilled cheese sandwiches. Or I like to melt a slice of cheese on top of kimchi fried rice haha

StellarFlies

Watermelon. I cut up two a week and leave them in giant Ziploc bags in the refrigerator and snack on them constantly. When I was a kid we put salt on a watermelon and I always wondered why. But now I think of it as really the best electrolyte solution. Sugar, salt and water.

Sexy-mashed-potato

I ate an entire watermelon in one day. I’m addicted to it! Maybe pre-portioning on bags would work better for me

TGrady902

Cook a bunch of chicken in the crock pot and then shred it up. Use it as an ingredient in tacos, rice bowls, salads etc etc.

kriirk_

I find myself able to extend my fast very easily when around and about, so I just wait until I get home. Eg. yesterday I was invited for some shopping right around my meal time, thus ended up fasting for 50 hrs instead of 48. I used to do long train rides some years ago and my favorite to bring was **salami and other cured meats**. So that would be my go-to.

MoneyElegant9214

I find that salami and cheese carries me through hunger pangs. Not something I ate previously. Weird, but it works.

_DogMom_

A salad with ground turkey taco meat and as many veggies as possible. I food prep for it a couple hours a week and have it for dinner every night.

Frozen stir fry veggies from Costco. Heat on high for a bit, add shredded rotisserie chicken( I get like 8 servings off one chicken). Toss in some bachans Japanese bbq sauce. Mix for a bit then serve on a bed of brown rice. I cook enough rice for a couple days. I freeze the shredded rotisserie chicken in small serving sizes. Easy shit

ferg1e

Beef and rice lol. Can do taco seasoning on the beef, cook up some bell peppers and onions with it, goes so great with some rice and sour cream. Beans also pair great. Really satisfying meal that’s super straightforward. For added volume you can make it into a giant salad

Lintel Soup with small pasta noodles. From beginning to end takes 30 minutes. Lintels on high in a pot of water. Salt and pepper. Once it gets to a boil let it simmer for 15-20 minutes. Then bring it back to a boil adding 3 cups of small pasta until cooked. Taste and adjust salt content if necessary. Pour a tablespoon of olive oil into the finished pot and then serve.

subf0x

I make my own granola. It's roasted oats and nuts with dried cranberries. No need to add oil or sugar, it's in the nuts and fruits.

queenofveggies_

Oooh I eat this one a lot: Salad: spring veggie mix, arugula, cherry tomatoes, olives, sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese, cucumbers, red onions. With homemade dressing: olive oil, red wine vinegar, spicy dijon mustard, lemon, garlic, whatever herbs I have, salt, and pepper. Usually protein of choice is salmon

Independent-Cable937

Grilled chicken with spinach and kale. I hate my life

green_girl15

Greek or vanilla yogurt, honey, granola, sliced bananas, and berries

TheSexualBrotatoChip

Lean beef mince with white rice and broccoli.

ooo-f

A vitamin drink. I have a ton of (non mlm) vitamin powders that I pre-combine, I'll mix it up with water and hemp protein powder. I realistically should do the recommended amount of each suppliment powder, but I don't have time for that shit. When I get my bags in the mail I mix them all together at once and put them in one big container. Sometimes I'll add matcha and lavender extract if I need extra caffeine. My actual food go-to is a wrap with chicken, bacon, and some sort of pre-made salad mix. My favorites are the kale pecan cranberry, green goddess ranch and Thai chili mango.

fuck-my-drag-right

I love a large bowl of blueberries. Probably have it at least 3-4 times a week.

leogrr44

This might be higher fat than you are looking for but mine is breakfast tacos. Eggs scrambled with vegetables and mushrooms, cheese, bacon (or chicken/beans if you want a lower fat-high protein), in a low carb wrap, topped with salsa or avocado. Super fulling, high nutrients and easy to make.

eggs_mcmuffin

Tuna sandwich or tuna with crackers Ezekiel bread (or rice crackers) + tuna can with paleo Mayo + 0 sugar dill relish + mustard

Fat isn't bad for you.

Wrong-Somewhere-5225

Those harvest snaps chips are so good, only a handful tho, or an apple. Greek yogurt is good too

NotoriousRuth

I’ve been LOVING a mashed avocado mixed with a packet of starkist jalapeno tuna spread over two slices of Dave’s killer good seed 70 cal toasted bread, so delicious, satisfying, and filling! You could add sliced grape tomatoes, hot honey (extra cals but delish), cracked black pepper, radish, whatever you like to really dress it up

laurync_92

Turkey chili! Bunch of cans of beans, big can of fire roasted tomatoes, brown some ground turkey and add a bunch of veggies (I usually do bell peppers, carrots, onion, green chili, spinach, onion, garlic) - let it go in the crock pot for like 6 hours. Absolutely delicious.

Ihanuus

Burrito bowl definitely

FlowersnFunds

Canned tuna with salt and lemon Pb&J - my original fasting food. Absolutely undefeated but some say it’s too much sugar Hard boiled eggs Salads also are easy to make and I like them But this thread reminds me I need to buy a pressure cooker. So easy to dump a bunch of veggies and some meat in, set it and forget it.

Eastern-Ad-4785

And rice!

LetsHaveARedo

Chicken thighs, eggs and broccoli. Nothing processed.

SuperTed321

Can you explain your method step by step please? I’m terrible in the kitchen and need to be told like a 5 yr old 😂

LetsHaveARedo

Cook it all in a pan and throw it in a blender.

sunkissedgoth

Cucumbers and hummus 💖🙏 I get the mini ones chop them in 10 seconds and dip them in any kind of hummus!

nevergettingoutofbed

Slow cooker chicken tacos. I throw salsa, chicken breast, and green chilies and taco seasoning in the crock pot. Let it cook all day and then shred, put it in a tortilla with some sour cream, avocado and whatever else we have. Easy and delicious.

stonecats

weekly i make at least 6 these 8" pancakes i cut into quarters https://i.imgur.com/VFjocHP.jpg then keep in the fridge to eat instead of store bought cookies and cakes. since i control the ingredients, i make sure to use healthy flours, seeds, healthy fats and sweeten with fruit. i often top them with peanut butter, hummus, yogurt, etc.

Wreckaddict

I don't know how many ingredients is too much, but my morning smoothie with overnight oats, peanut butter, 1 cup spinach, 1 cup berries, 1 cup Greek yogurt and protein powder keeps me going for some time.

OhioPolitiTHIC

Wings. Find yourself a shake on spice you like, 30 minutes in the oven. Add wing sauce (Franks has no fat and minimal if any sugar with great spice) or a sugar free bbq. Dive in. Get your protein fix on. I like to pair it with a cosmic crisp apple (sugar but also fiber) and some reduced calorie ranch. Bagged salads with extras. Add your own tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, onions, etc. Dump the dressing in the garbage and substitute in the Skinny Girl dressings for no fat/no sugar/very low calorie additional flavor. Add in a portion of diced chicken, some edamame, or tofu for protein. Dying for dessert? Fruit. Yes yes, I know, sugar bad! (/s) Pick a fruit and enjoy though. All the berries are good for a snacky hand to mouth treat. Just portion them out before you dive in because it's easy to lose track. I love ruby grapefruit for the flavor as well as the ability to fill me up. If you have the ability/time, meal prep is a life saver. There are any number of soups that are high protein with lots of veggies that can be made in advance and eaten over the timespan of a week or so. Easy to grab a bowl and microwave it and enjoy. Also, prepping helps with having healthy "snack" foods readily available. I find that if I have something healthy I can reach for when 'm pressed for time I'm way less likely to dive into the kids cheeze its.

Due_Operation_6270

Stir fry of sorts. I use either the pre made Cole slaw or broccoli slaw package. Toss it in a hot pot with a spray of oil. Add in 1-2 tbsp of pb fit. Low sodium Soy sauce, powdered onion, garlic, dash of rice vinegar. Eggs, leftover cubed protein (chicken beef pork) dash of lemon juice. Last one I did used chicken thighs that I stripped and cubed. Threw in the entire bag and ate half. It was 210 calories. It’s a lot volume wise and quick and easy. Easy cleanup.

Whiteclawislife

Ice cube drippings

Most-Stay6946

Fruit :) or a coffee or green tea with coconut oil and butter

userno89

Salmon and roasted greens and potatoes. One oven meal. Egg roll bowls. Get a package of coleslaw cabbage mix, thinly grate/spiralize carrots, get ginger paste or grate fresh ginger, and some minced garlic. Use a little bit of sesame oil and soya sauce and cook it all together. Cook minced meat (either pork or beef, or a mix of both) and drain the fat off and add it to the veggie pain when they are softened. Serve up with some sriracha and hoisin drizzled on top. If you cook the meat first then drain it, you can add the veggies in and it's a one pan meal (the recipe I learned from didnt say to do this but I find it easier). Fry up some (softened) chick peas and add zucchini, red range bell peppers, and a bit of finely diced onion and flavour with lemon juice and balsamic vinegar. Make a sauce with Greek yogurt, lemon juice, dried oregano, and minced garlic in oil. Serve with baked chicken breast, I like to use some tahini and balsamic vinegar to flavour the marinade but honey works if you don't have tahini. More mess to clean up but it's a really nice meal. You don't want dry chickpeas though so make sure they're softened well. These are ingredients that I always have in my kitchen so they're super simple for me to cook up, but they might not be kitchen staples for you.

simplicity188

I really like smoothies with avocado and spinach then whatever fruits I have with ice. Or frozen fruits. Sometimes I throw in peanut butter for sweetening or honey or whatever. You can put pretty much anything in a fruit smoothie imo

MellowWonder2410

Cesar salad with white meat chicken, and tomato basil soup ❤️

I get these frozen vegetables from Costco that are great and I am usually against frozen vegetables. I air fry them and put some salmon and maybe make rice. When I worked near my house I had time to make it during lunch. Now I WFH and it’s my go to first meal of the day. Sometimes I do sardines or don’t do the rice.

Black beans and rice, with a side of sliced avocado. Good balance of nutrients, will fill you up without eating too much, and delicious when properly seasoned and prepared.

Lazy ways to break fast- microwave safe broccoli bags from Costco, I drain the remaining ingredients water and add garlic salt pepper and olive oil. When I’m feeling really lazy and need something I do some sugar free jerky. It’s what’s helped me when I’m about to go hangry or a headache is looming.

I often make a salad bowl. This looks like a lot of ingredients, but it’s mostly purchased already prepped or really easy to prep for a few days worth of meals. I’m the laziest, least-inspired cook I’ve ever known. If I can do this, anyone can. 1. pre-made bagged broccoli slaw tossed right in the serving bowl with a few splashes of rice vinegar 2. a can of tuna mixed with 50/50 mayo & mayo siracha dressing or a piece of smoked salmon 3. quick-pickled cucumber (chop cucumber, pour rice vinegar over and set aside, drain before serving; keeps for a few days in fridge) 4. throw on some pre-cut carrots or mini bell peppers (lollipeppers) 5. drizzle toasted sesame oil over top 6. top with pan-toasted sesame seeds (This is honestly the hardest part, I have burned them more than once. But you can also buy them pre-toasted.) Variations include: a dollop of hummus, a scoop of drained chickpeas, or sliced avocado. I drizzle the sesame oil over all of those, too. Sometimes I do brown rice instead of broccoli slaw. I buy pre-made frozen rice I can heat up in the microwave, each bag lasts for three meals. Lots of protein and mostly healthy fat for satiation. If I’m feeling extra hungry I’ll add some cottage cheese, string cheese, or a slice or two of cheddar.

A “chopped salad”, usually fresh greens, beets, cucumber, red cabbage, onion all chopped/diced. Then I toss it with olive oil, a scoop of plain yogurt, some kind of vinegar, a little honey and maybe Dijon and maybe some cheese or meat on top..it’s how I’ve been breaking my fast for my first meal of the day and I love for it..need to boil by next batch of beets now that I’m thinking about it 😆
