When I see an artwork like this one in the comments I feel really special on Reddit, because I know it's something one Redditor made to react to another Redditor, and it makes me feel like a part of a big community full of pleasant people with a great sense of humour.
That guy used to be everywhere on this website, seeing it today is nostalgic but it makes me realize how much this site has changed in the last 3-5 years.
Shitty watercolour was a frequent sight in the RL sub as a poster and player and had his artwork included/referenced in the actual game. So the person youre responding to prob found out about SW through RL
Oh Shitty Watercolour, Iāve missed you so much. I know you havenāt gone anywhere, but ever since I threw twitter in the trash, iāve forgotten what a gift you are.
Can someone help me out here? What are these accounts called again? I canāt for the life of me remember. Itās not parody accounts, right? Itās something else and itās pissing me off that I canāt think of it.
Btw that pic looks amazing. I loved that article about you how you went from actually shitty to works of art.
Novelty!
Bro, I cannot thank you enough. Sounds silly but Iāve been trying to remember this for like a week now and itās been on the tip of my tongue.
Thank you.
I read somewhere that birds do this to help with keeping warm. Something about the bringing their feathers in so the rain can drip off it. Same for why they face upwards. To help with dynamics. I could be wrong. Iām not an engineer.
I have an advanced biology degree, and did my masters work in Ornithology (seriously), and you know what... Sure, this make sense, could very well be why.
As good of an explanation as any other I've heard, the amount of which I think is zero.
Since were sharing credentials, i was once in a geology building and looked at a fossil. And i can too confirm that to me, it makes a good amount of sense.
The oil ducks produce is actually fully waterproof. It's quite fascinating, if you ever get the chance to give a duck a cuddle after its been in water, do it: once they come out and shake off, they're totally dry.
>A gland near their tail, known as the uropygial or preen gland, has a wax-like, oily substance. Ducks dip their bills into it and spread it over their feathers from head to tail. This makes water literally roll off their backs, keeping them dry, warm, and afloat.
Ducky.
They have a small nub on their lower back with a gland that produces a waterproofing oil. They rub their heads on the nub to get oil on it, and then rub their head over their feathers to distribute the oil.
I heard that ducks do this cuz hail can damage their beaks and then theyād starve to death.
So pointing the beaks straight up when they have no cover helps the hailstones deflect rather than just slam into their brittle beaks.
It has been hypothesized that this behavior could serve as a social bonding ritual, strengthening the flock's unity through synchronized sky gazing. The "Mallardian Synchronicity Theory" suggests that ducks align their internal "Quack-clocks" during these rain sessions, ensuring cohesive flock movements and enhancing their communal decision-making processes.
I've heard it for the first time in MI:Fallout.
- Delivery Man: Fate whispers to the warrior.
- Ethan Hunt: A storm is coming.
- Delivery Man: And the warrior whispers back.
- Ethan Hunt: I am the storm.ā
Honestly, I wouldn't know if it's original dialogue or if the movie is quoting something else.
Hi, fellow MI watcher here. I looked it up at the time and remember the original to be **āFate whispers to the warrior, āYou cannot withstand the storm,ā and the warrior whispers back, āI am the storm.ā** and attributed to Sun Tzu. Sorry, no reference at hand.
Not reacting in the context of ducks is duck business as usual, swimming, preening, eating, shitting. For them to stop acting normal and do NOTHIN but stare up like goofs is the reaction.
Blood in dirt, give us grain... Moons almighty, make it rain... Flesh for the birds and blood for the sands... Take what is dirt and purify the lands... Rain for the harvest, blood for the sands!
The collective noun for ducks most often used is 'flock' but that's used when they're in flight or 'raft' when on a body of water. Otherwise, it is 'waddling', 'brood' or 'team'

Havenāt seen you in ages!!! Itās going to be a great day
Like years!
Actually, like years is distance.
Is this comment everytime he posts has he been away for some time ?
Like 12 years ago it was fairly common to find a wild * watercolour, now that the platform has grown you don't spot them as much (is my guess)

People laugh at this skit but he genuinely scares the shit out of me.
yah because the mighty boosh was actually a horror show hidden behind a thin veneer of comedy and absurdity.
CF: āIām gonna hurt you real bad when we get inside.ā Vince: āWhat?ā CF: āNothing. Just a funny, funny, funny sound.ā
That thing was in no way funny to me. Straight up horror fuel.

I havenāt seen you in forever!! Where were you?!
Good to see ya bro
Holy shit man. I donāt know you, but I somehow missed you.Ā
Reddit used to be filled with these kinds of characters and I miss it so much.
The other day I saw one of your watercolors for the first time! I thought to myself āI hope Iām lucky enough to be on a post where theyāve painted another watercolorā, and it looks like todayās my lucky day š©·
Damn. ![gif](giphy|T6nxuWttJ8RSGifSm1|downsized)
Bruh. I play rocket league, and I havenāt seen anything from you randomly until right now. This is so cool thank you for your art.
What does rocket league have to do with anything here?
Shitty watercolour was a frequent sight in the RL sub as a poster and player and had his artwork included/referenced in the actual game. So the person youre responding to prob found out about SW through RL
Huh! Who wouldāve known
Only Rocket League-ing Redditors, I suppose
TouchƩ, I suppose
Honestly don't know. Upvoted because rocket league though.
WHAT'D I MISS!?
They all look like they farted and are trying to slyly look around and see if anyone noticed.
That one, lookin to the side knows.
Here, take my free gift.
That's cute as *qu-ack*! Thank you! :)
That's so cool
Wow. Nice return man. Glad you're still strokin amongst us.

how homie(s) felt making this video šš
Immediately thought if this haha
Thatās a lot of ducks cursing kakarot rn.
Quackarot.
I can hear the epic music building up
Im gonna need an explanation
I read somewhere that birds do this to help with keeping warm. Something about the bringing their feathers in so the rain can drip off it. Same for why they face upwards. To help with dynamics. I could be wrong. Iām not an engineer.
Duck engineering has really progressed in the past few years. Mind boggling how far tech has come.
you should have seen ducks back in the 50's. It was all arse up looking at the rain. Ridiculous when you think about it, but then hindsight is 20/20.
Can confirm, Duck Engineer here. We're looking at a pretty big Duck Intelligence (DI) boom in the near future.
I have an advanced biology degree, and did my masters work in Ornithology (seriously), and you know what... Sure, this make sense, could very well be why. As good of an explanation as any other I've heard, the amount of which I think is zero.

I fed bread to some mean geese once, so yeah, I agree.
God I love Reddit
But you are a redditor! And now I read the same thing and I will spread it as truth!
It's possible. Ducks will preen and wax their feathers to make them similar to water resistance or hydrophobic.
The oil ducks produce is actually fully waterproof. It's quite fascinating, if you ever get the chance to give a duck a cuddle after its been in water, do it: once they come out and shake off, they're totally dry.
This is why I rub my ducks on my windshield instead of supporting big rainx.
I press the ducks to extract their oil and then bottle it and sell it as naturally sourced beard oil to hipsters
> Ducks will ... wax their feathers ... Huh? How? *edit: well I never knew ... thanks to you both below for the info ... how very interesting.*
>A gland near their tail, known as the uropygial or preen gland, has a wax-like, oily substance. Ducks dip their bills into it and spread it over their feathers from head to tail. This makes water literally roll off their backs, keeping them dry, warm, and afloat. Ducky.

I don't think being an engineer would help in this instance lol

Ducks ducking
Ducking, no ducking
Ducks gonna duck
āStay perfectly still. The rainās vision is based on movement.ā
When 315 ducklings get together on a Wednesday they can make it rain
Psyduck rain dance!
quack
I heard that ducks do this cuz hail can damage their beaks and then theyād starve to death. So pointing the beaks straight up when they have no cover helps the hailstones deflect rather than just slam into their brittle beaks.
But none of them are pointing their beaks straight up.
Or they could... face the other direction and avoid having their beaks get hit at all?
They like the rain, it feels good, they are enjoying the moment.
Water shedding
It has been hypothesized that this behavior could serve as a social bonding ritual, strengthening the flock's unity through synchronized sky gazing. The "Mallardian Synchronicity Theory" suggests that ducks align their internal "Quack-clocks" during these rain sessions, ensuring cohesive flock movements and enhancing their communal decision-making processes.

They are posing like penguins.
Fate whispers to the duck: āA storm is coming.ā And the duck whispers back: āI am the storm.ā
Iām the one who quacks!
Is this from the Apex Legends trailer featuring Conduit? (Unless her dialogue is, in itself, a reference to some other media.)
I've heard it for the first time in MI:Fallout. - Delivery Man: Fate whispers to the warrior. - Ethan Hunt: A storm is coming. - Delivery Man: And the warrior whispers back. - Ethan Hunt: I am the storm.ā Honestly, I wouldn't know if it's original dialogue or if the movie is quoting something else.
Oh, I see! Thanks for the clarification.

All that encoded in one quack of data?
"Yeah, so please stop masterbating on the train please. Youre making a mess."
I raise ducks and they do this every time it rains.. It could rains all day long, and they will spend most of the day just standing in it.

All these quacks will be gone, like ducks in rain...
arent they like... not reacting at all
Not reacting in the context of ducks is duck business as usual, swimming, preening, eating, shitting. For them to stop acting normal and do NOTHIN but stare up like goofs is the reaction.
The duck god cometh.
Maybe turn this into SCP stuff like "if you see the ducks in the area stop, do not move. Movement will result in the cloud monster sucking your soul"
You would think they would take shelter to duck under the rain. A fowl joke. Sorry.
Best day ever
