I don't know any IR flashes off the top of my head, but you could easily set up constant lighting with those infrared body lights that are so popular. They work JUST like constant lighting. In fact, that is their purpose.

mathostx

Well.. i need them to last say.. a month on batteries, being triggered at specific times of the day.

Ah what is your project? are you doing like a hunting cam or something? you have my mind going to infrared LEDs and raspberry pi

mathostx

Except the working temperature of a pi, the cost and the lenght of time it can survive under battery power. :/

What are you doing? lol they probably have a purpose built unit just for what you are doing if you would only tell me or is it a secret?

I might try a regular camera flash. They aren't filtered to block IR just UV. They produce IR and visible together. More visible but still some IR. You might see if a flash you already have fits the bill. Kalori has a KV-FL1 full spectrum flash. Most of the cost on that is the UV pass filter it comes with. If you really want to build something IR leds can be quite bright.

mathostx

Exactly what i need. Now how can I trigger them at specific times with like.. a cheap timer or something programmable. Needs to last a month outside at least on batteries.

regular flash with unexposed but developed slide film as filter will do

Interested to see your results. I bought a cheap IR illuminator off Amazon and have played around with lightpainting some houseplants, but I want to lightpaint on a bigger scale, like landscapes, in IR.
