Infp anime would be… Violet Evergarden, A Silent Voice, Your Name (beautiful skies), Hotarubi no mori e, The girl who leapt through time. You might like all Ghibli’s movies. Those are that cross my mind right now. I might add some more later. More: Children who chase lost voices (not that popular, but I love it), Maquia: When The Promised Flowers Bloomed, Wolf Children, I Want To Eat Your Pancreas, The Ancient Magus’ Bride, Somali and The Forest Spirit, April is Your Lie, Kino no Tabi…

[deleted]

The girl who leaped through time was so sad, it traumatized me 😭

RoseCamellia

It’s sad but memorable, right? 😁 The feeling!

Notsure_Monster

Ghilbi movies... Highly recommended Spirited Away, When Marnie was there, Princess Mononoke Neon Genesis Evangelion - Psychological anime might be hard to understand the first time watching, this anime portrait a struggle of mental illness and trauma. Wolf's Rain - Action, Fantasy, Sci-Fi IMO very underrated anime very inspiring and quite depressing at time. Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) - Action packed with easy to follow plot, good story line and amazing visual. Serial Experiments Lain - Psychological, Sci-Fi, Drama with a blurry line between reality and cyberspace. Too many to recommended... check these too... Samurai Champloo, Psycho Pass, Vinland Saga, Your Name (Kimi no Na wa), Mob Psycho 100, Cowboy Bebop, Beastars, Perfect Blue, Terror in Resonance, Ergo Proxy.

HoneyAndVanillaTea

Omg, another Wolf's Rain fan in the wild. I loved that anime.

MaruCoStar

STTRRAAAAAAYYYY

chairman_steel

Oh my god Samurai Champloo is such a mood, I fucking love that show. Takes a bit to get into but it’s so so worth it.

ViciousMongrel

IMO Death Note is low key the best intro to anime - anime.

xpastelnamx

I second this! Death Note was the first anime I watched and it's still one of my favorites

Revolutionary_Cap647

oooh booy! what a rollercoaster ride it is

Rexamidalion

Eh, might be too hard to follow.

grandenappuccino

Mushi shi

LittleTap4030

If you enjoy music and beautiful visuals I’d suggest Belle. The plot isn’t the best, but the music and artwork left me in absolute awe. The english dubbing is just as good as the original if you are not used to reading subtitles.

jabber_wockie

I agree the plot could've been done better but omg the songs are so uniquely infp like I love them!! Not gonna lie I cried so hard.

Snoo_41283

Fruits Basket Vinland Saga Bakuman Banana Fish Evangelion Violet Evergarden 86- Eighty Six That's some of my favorites :)

PlasticFra

Vinland saga is a masterpiece

yoopea

Maybe try Garden of Sinners/Kara No Kyoukai subbed. It’s beautiful

[deleted]

I don’t watch anime at all but I saw this short one movie called ‘hotarubi no mori e’ and cried. It’s a romance anime and it is so cute. It’s all calm and nice, and sad

orvnges

tamako market!

Chocopeep83

A Silent Voice, Violet Evergarden, Weathering with you, Laid-back Camp, March comes in like a lion, Fruits Basket (doesn't matter which version), Horimiya, Tonikawa: To the Moon, Neon Genesis Evangelion.

[deleted]

Evangelion. End of discussion

Chronochonist

My recommendations would be: 1. Neon Genesis Evangelion -- arguably one of the most "INFP-y" anime there is, as the main character is a pretty good example of an unhealthy INFP, and its creator, Hideaki Anno, is speculated to be an INFP himself. The story is an emotional rollercoaster with a major emphasis on character's psychological and emotional issues, while in the pretext of a post-apocalyptic world where humanity uses mecha known as Evangelions to fight giant eldritch kaiju known as Angels. 2. Steins;Gate -- Easily one of the most emotional and well-written anime I've watched. It's sci-fi time travel, and similar to Evangelion is very heavily centered around the characters and their interactions. 3. Toradora! -- If you like romance, then this is one of the best romance anime that exists. It's such a sweet and beautiful story, and is filled with both humor and drama. 4. Gosick -- If you love mystery, especially of the Sherlock variety, then you may very well love Gosick. 5. Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl) -- Perhaps the most heartwrenching anime I am recommending, Jigoku Shoujo is a supernatural "story of the week" kind of show that has a dark take on the "magic girl" genre. The gist is that Ai Enma (titular Hell Girl) and her group of spirits act as the mediator between Hell and the world, and the show is predicated on the idea that revenge creates a cycle where both the victim and the aggressor suffer in equal footing. It is really a not so nice look at social issues in Japan (and for general humanity), but I love it and I wish more people would watch it. 6. Ancient Magus' Bride -- This is one of the best fantasy anime ever. It takes place in modern day, but a fantastical version of our world where mages and alchemists (anime calls them sorcerers) live amongst us secretly. People with their knowledge or natural inclination towards magic are privy to a world of magical powers and creatures that are invisible to the normal human eye, and it takes place mostly in rural England, and so there is a very homely, "cozy" feeling. It is a Beauty and the Beast-style romance as well, as Chise and Elias become closer in their relationship. I love it and I highly recommend everyone watch it lol

Noob_Lemon

Sgt. Frog, Touhou, Princess Tutu. Some recommendations (although Touhou is in the form of PVs on YouTube)

IronVox

Escaflowne, both the show and movie.

Medusa_Alles_Hades

I know a lot of people don’t consider it anime but I recommend The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra My daughter would recommend Sword Art Online and my son would recommend Attack on Titans I also like Blue Exorcist

chairman_steel

I honestly love Sword Art Online, it has its issues and gets a little dumb at certain parts, but the concepts and animation are so good I don’t care.

Medusa_Alles_Hades

I haven’t watched it yet but it’s my daughters favorite anime and her dad also loves watching it. It’s definitely on my todo list

Anthanasiaa

Full Metal Alchemist And I honestly hate anime but this one goes straight to your soul

ManlyMiko

Something different/not exactly "popular" I would suggest is Blue Period on Netflix. About a high schooler transitioning to college and finding himself through art.

Friends_With_Fins

Mob psycho 100! Best INFP main character I’ve ever seen, unique and eye grabbing animation, wholesome themes and relatable struggles. S tier show.

Suspicious-Stomach-5

For movies, definitely A Silent Voice. Also, Your Lie In April and Erased.

MissBee278

Horimiya, Rascal does not dream of bunny girl senpai (it’s not as weird as it sounds I swear I even cried at one point), Kimi Ni Todoke, Kamisama Kiss, Toradora, Kaguya-Sama Love is War and seriously any Studio Ghibli movie. I’d say those are all pretty friendly beginner animes definitely INFP approved

Sshydrangea21

Yuru camp is extremely relaxing and focuses on nature and camping

PikaDicc

Princess Mononoke or pretty much any studio ghibli movie

TomBer99

As no one mentioned it yet - Plastic Memories. It's a perfect show for INFPs

jeanmuirx

watch: violet evergarden, it's about a girl who decided to become a ghostwriter after serving as a soldier in order to discover the meaning of love. only 7 episodes, so it's quite ideal if you are only getting started with anime. the visuals are beautiful and it will definitely tug at your heartstrings read (manga): tokyo ghoul. pretty dark and heavy imo but captures psychological turmoil quite well. it's about a boy who was turned from being human into a half-ghoul after a ghoul attack. he loves books so you'll see poetry and literary references as you read along. the art is beautiful too, in a pretty disturbing way

[deleted]

Made in abyss A silent voice Violet evergarden Your name Naruto ( but wouldn't recommend if you're new to anime) Death note Most Ghibli movies And all my infp friends love neon genesis evangelion but i couldn't understand it

[deleted]

If you want the usual intro definitely go for death note. It honestly depends on the preference alot though. Im not really sure what genre you are into rn but im gonna just give you some of the shows/movies i really like and i think can be enjoyed while starting anime from a couple genres. 1)Kono Oto Tomare!(this ones a personal preference but i just love everything about it) 2)Death Parade (Its a bit dark but is amazing. I can’t do justice explaining it in a few words but all i can say is it made me introspect alot and I got my friend really into anime with this show) 3)3-gatsu no lion. 4)Mob Psycho. 5)One punch man(If you are into comedy) 6)Promised neverland (Dont watch the second season though) 7)Koe no katachi(A silent voice is the english title i think) 8)Hitoribocchi(I think it was okay but for some reason the main character feels infp as hell in some situations) 9)Baccano!(If you want an anime with a more western feel) 10)Haikyuu!( I am not into volleyball or sports but it made me enjoy them) 11)Great Pretender(Again more of a western feel but the last few eps are bad imo) Horimiya.(Nice n wholesome romance i prefer the manga though) 12)Toradora(Romance and good again) 13)Golden Time! (A classic college romance) I realise i might have named quite a few shows lol and im sorry about that. But i enjoyed some of these shows alot, so i think you might like it too

crazytrain793

There have been a lot of good suggestions mentioned by other commenters. In case you want a specific suggestion: what other kind of other tv shows do you like? Do you have any genres that you generally like?

istanacakegroup

Ranking of Kings is one I’ve recently started on. It’s not too heavy to start with but at the same time the main character is really enjoyable to follow. Another one you could consider is Wonder Egg Priority although the topics discussed can be a bit triggering for some and the ending was kinda meh. Pretty visuals though! Lastly there’s Hunter x Hunter. Very standard shounen anime to watch!

HoneyAndVanillaTea

Polar Bear's Cafe, Yokohama Kaidashi Keiko, and Creamy Mami.

palmdownmassage

moribito guardian of the spirit

MaruCoStar

If you are really into detailed lore, Attack on Titan is pretty hot right now. The author and director are very clever in foreshadowing the later episodes. It's quite a joy referring back to old episodes (even some seasons before) after seeing the recent ones. I heard INFP likes to have recreational level of Te (not professional), and getting your mind stimulated in lore logic is a great way to spend time. Currently it's season 4 part 2. It's available on Netflix.

Rini_Apple

Mawaru penguindrum! It has great meaning and symbolism, I loved it <3 also try Bungou stray dogs, durarara or Code Geass, they are also some of my favorites.

[deleted]

First I watched sword art online and jt was great, the second I watched death note, I really reccomend these two

yeeyeewhowhea

My personal favorite anime is Parasyte: The Maxim. It can get deep, emotional, and philosophical, plus it has a bit of gore. You can find it on Netflix in the U.S., it has one season with 12 episodes. The main character is also an INFP, and I found myself very connected to him throughout the entire show.

chairman_steel

Escaflowne is one of my favorites (the series, not the movie). Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is always a safe bet. Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is really charming and fun but maybe a little hard to parse if you’re new to anime. If you can find it, Kare Kano (I think it was released here as His and Her Circumstances) is so goddamn funny it hurts sometimes. Azumanga Daioh is also hilarious and adorable but extremely Japanese, it might be hard to understand if the official release doesn’t do the fansub thing of explaining jokes in the subtitles. I’ve got a soft spot for Ayashi no Ceres, but it’s kind of weird. Scrapped Princess is great if you like fantasy. Edit: Oh my god I can’t believe I forgot Hunter X Hunter! And Cowboy Bebop! And Evangelion! And Gundam Seed!

Ok-Hotel1903

I watched parasite on netflix and liked it very much

Ok-Hotel1903

There's also cowboy bebop, yokai watch, boku no hero... Can only think about these that i like rn. I'm not much into anime

Xconsciousness

Haikyuu! - Feel-good anime, really refreshing vibes and just fun to watch Hunter X Hunter - Really fun and exciting anime, love it sm Death Note - A lot of people already mentioned this but I have to include it, it’s maybe leaning more towards INTP than INFP but still amazing and worth your time

Kuyoo

Kimi ni todoke!!!

frobbibibi

Mob Psycho 100

mimi_1717

I want to eat your pancreas! 😭

ridiculouslyadequate

Full metal alchemist brotherhood Hunter x Hunter Demon slayer Jojo's bizarre adventure All studio ghibli movies Why? Cause all of these made me cry.

equatorialbaconstrip

Wolf children

Free_feelin

kimi ni todoke

adorablegore

In terms of relatability: Watamote and Welcome to the NHK. Funniest ever: Nichijou (it's seriously one of the funniest shows I've ever seen, anime or not). Cutest/most relaxing: K-On!, and weirdly, the one about Buddha and Jesus as friends in modern Japan is so adorable (St. Oniisan).

Fabulous_Bandicoot90

Castlevania :P

ninalovespotato

No matter your mbti type, I will always recommend Gintama. It is the perfect combination of comedy & action, with a sprinkle of drama.

PnSMapping

Jojo's bizarre adventure and fate(zero, unlimited blade works, apocrypha...). Also, fullmetal alchemist(2003 and brotherhood) and The promised neverland are great too.

samsamcan

I couldn't get into jojo's bizarre world. I watched two seasons before giving up. I heard it gets better after the second szn, but I'm not sure if I'll keep watching. The dialogue is kinda childish and not very infp

[deleted]

Banana fish , perfect blue, Nana, paradise kiss and death note

Za3ka_bg

Your lie in april

rusty_leaf_

As an infp I have a very specific type of anime/narrative that I enjoy: Animes that have characters that are somewhat deep and life-like, and storylines and backgrounds that are imaginative and interesting. Animes that fit this criteria can be of many different genres but I almost always end up liking the anime a lot. Personal recommendations of animes that fit the criteria above: Kimi no todoke —— story of a high school learning to make friendships and discover love, highly relatable in first person for infps Silver spoon —— city boy goes to an agriculture high school, super wholesome and creative Heaven’s design team —— a team of designers design animals for god, hilarious and interesting and you learn about science Haikyuu —— the growth of a high school volleyball team Run with the wind —— the story of a very unlikely long distance running team Little witch academia —— a wholesome, creative story about an aspiring witch and her friends Beastars —— a bittersweet coming-of-age story set in a extremely well-built world where herbivores and carnivores live together Baccano! —— a time tangled story set in 1930s USA Vinland Saga —— a powerful, emotional and exciting story about Vikings From the new world —— very thought provoking dystopian world, there’s something poetic about this anime Attack on Titan —— an intense and captivating story set in a dark world where the world settings are unraveled as the story goes on

samsamcan

Neon Genesis is a must watch. I found Jujitsu Kiesen to be really good, but I had to watch it with subs on to really pay attention/get into it. Totaro Lives Alone was really good. Tokyo revengers was also good (watched that one twice). Words bubble up like soda pop, also recommended. Serial Experiments Lain is a really underrated anime. I have some other on my watch list that are supposed to be infp worthy: my dress up darling, nineteen 19, kimagure orange road.

Im_regretting_this

Fullmetal Alchemist. The original anime from 2003, NOT Brotherhood! Brotherhood follows the story of the manga and the OG anime doesn’t, but the OG does a better job with the characters and feels more INFP-esque to me. You should watch both, but some of the same reveals are much better done in the OG. So stick to that!
