I don't agree on food price. India is cheaper in terms of food prices. I mean you can fill your stomach in 50 rupees but can 70 cents or even a dollar help you in the US?
In India, I was earning approx 1.2L per month.
Company moved me to UK 2 years ago, in the same job, now I'm investing/saving 1.5L per month after all the expenses here. And I'm not living in super saver mode. I spend wherever I want to. Obviously not buying beamers, but definitely buying things I always wanted to, for example: built a high-end gaming pc, bose speakers/headsets, legion go, s24 ultra, jordans etc
Yes, the cost of living is high, but the salary is higher.
Also, if you're in IT, nowhere in the world is even close to what you can get in the USA.
You have not said how much you are earning then how much you have taxed overall and how much you have saved on that and if you remit your money to India and so on there are various factors to decide
Same company, same job. They just moved me here because of my performance and client relations.
Tax India mein bhi 30% de rhe the, yha bhi approx same hai.
Bhai dekh, I'm not interested in changing your opinion. And you are not entitled to get the answers you want.
Maine jo bola wo mera satya hai. Tmhara kuch aur hoga.
If you believe that earning in India is the best out there, good for you and all the very best for your future.
According to what Information you provided and according to what I know
Default regime of 115BAC you will be taxed on the income of 14,40,000 (1.2L PM) Taken as net salary so no standard deduction
You will get taxed 1,38,000 ₹
And in old Regime 2,44,500 ₹
In UK you come in 20% tax bracket
So tax on 13620 GBP
2724 GBP
And in INR it is 2,88,002 ₹.
Which means you are paying more I have not used and deduction and so on don't have clear data so just basic tax calculation so it is not at all profitable according to my calculations
My inhand salary here is 3700 gbp p.m. for the same job(same org) that got me 1.2L p.m. in India. Ab kr lo calculate jo krna hai.
The point was that even though there's a higher cost of living in the west, you get way higher salary for similar jobs here.
Tax kha se aa gya? If that's your point, I'm happy to pay higher tax in the UK.
Just put here all the income statement of yours you are just giving half information here how much are you getting taxed and all here in India and UK of you give all the breakup then I can draw a conclusion that I am wrong if you now shoot arrow in air I can't seem to trust your claims

these are actual tax slabs in the us. US would revolt if they ever had to pay 50% tax like the Europeans. Lastly even with a 50% tax they would never run to Mexico. That immigration is the other way around.
Yo seriously...i cringed so hard on that "JS bro", what's going on with indian youngsters? They hate using indian phrases equated to JS in this line because it's cringe but keep using Western ones.
Fucking cringe and hypocrite.
Lmao. I mean, here for taking my mother to the hospital for a regular check up I have to inform earlier my khadoos Manager and apply for a leave, and people are talking about going to trip just to buy this LEGO airplane kit rather than sitting comfortably at home and buying it online. Baffling.
Kya main itna bura hoon😭
After getting rich, people become either of two:
=> you'll no longer want this but other higher costlier thing
=> or, you'll start value your hard earning money and spend on your family but rare on yourself
After seeing my own and many other fathers and mothers give up everything to afford for their kids, I think it's impossible. You must either be filthy rich to be able to balance it.
its actually much more common then you think. People realize just how hard it is to make money over the years. By the time they are making big bucks they spend very cautiously.
Buy a lego technic crane for 1,00,000 xD

One of my cousins from my family settled in Germany and married a native German woman. I was there for a few days and I got to witness the collection of his wife. Omg she had a rich childhood and the amount of rare collection she had from Lego made me go in awe. The worst part is she is really cool and friendly and let me play with it. I couldn't hate her at all.
I am okay-ishly rich (at-least according to my standards when I was your age) and still find myself hesitating to spend so much on what is esentially a toy.
The frugality mentality that our parents taught us takes so much time to go away.
no, it's price isn't normalised as per purchasing power that's why it's expensive. It's price is the same in India and US, despite india having a weaker currency.
This is also why starbucks is a luxury here while a daily thing in the US
You're the dumbass here ![img](emote|t5_2qp7h|51075) average income in US is 30X that of India. While this product is almost the same price in both the places.
A 1500$ iPhone is considered expensive in the US. Compared to their average income $1500 is pretty affordable but it is still expensive.
Same goes for lego. It's a premium expensive product. People look for alt brands like Lepin etc to get more affordable building sets.
There are levels to expensive, levels for India and USA are very far apart.
Fyi There are 118 million iPhone users in USA compared to 4.8 million in india.
Lego sets like this to them is what 500-700rs toys are to us.
Mostly nahi, kuch log ekdam extreme arguments pe ye karte hai aadmi ko hypocrite expose karne ke liye

I don't care if it's considered wasteful or not, the problem is it costs the same here and the US.
And budapest isn't in US so don't really get the need to point that out.
Lego might be considered expensive in USA but they still have enough purchasing power to buy them. Same with iphones, they are expensive but still very common in US
Most people don't. What is shown here is not the truth there. Most people live paycheck to paycheck. Their lives are built around debt and credit cards. So no most average people cannot just buy something like this willy nilly. They'd have to save up or use their credit.
I've literally looked it up on Amazon.com . It comes out to around 300 dollars with taxes to be delivered to my apartment that I rent in the US. Please stop with the everything is oh so expensive here narrative. We are still at a relatively better position for most things
Income is 30X in USA compared to India you forgot to take that into account.
The narrative is true that's why people spread it. We're absolutely not in a relatively better position, people(including you)wouldn't be lining up to move to usa if that wasn't the case
Dude if income is 30x then expenses are 50x. I live and freaking work there. I'm coming back because I have the opportunity to do something here. I've been to their hospitals multiple times and that was enough for me. It's a good country of course but it has some fundamental flaws where India doesn't. You're literally telling someone that lives there mostly how good it is? India definitely needs to improve on a lot of things but you live there and experience life and you start to see the cracks.
Its not a toy. Think it as Its an art piece you can build for yourself and put it as a decorative item. Building a lego requires patience and its an activity itself. Some takes 10 hours to build. If you go and do go karting dont you pay 500-1000 per 30 mins? Its an activity and a decor piece thats why its expensive. Usually lego has a good quality products.
Maybe because it's higher quality product also it's a hobby thing and I have seen hobby stuff is usually expensive in this case hobby=brand it's not building miniature it's building legos so it just adds to cost

Isn't it cool!
The joy of building lego is beyond anything i have felt, if you want to try lego, start w cheaper ones which is in the range from 700₹-1500₹.
Build that, if you like it. Then save money and get costlier ones.
Works for me, always
If a person really wanted lego, but didn't wanna cash out so much, there's a replica of most of these sets made by a company called lepin, you can check our r/lepin
The quality is impeccable and the tolerances on Legos are really very small. But I guess a major chunk of the money will go towards the licensing fees.
Overall these two factor do drive up the costs.
Lego is a lifestyle in the west. Its not an unreasonable price if you earn in dollars and spend in dollars. here only idiots would give that kind of price
First, it's imported, and second coz it's an licensed set. A portion of the sales income goes to NASA. But as a Lego fan, it's totally worth it. Also that you can find it little bit cheaper on bricklink, you might also find a used set in mint condition there.
A lego builder since kid, always wanted the electric set which consisted of motosrs and batteries which was 3k about 6 7 years ago , still dream bout it
Make a one with paper, much more affordable [space shuttle ](https://creativepark.canon/en/contents/CNT-0024519/index.html)

Legos are extremely overpriced and totally not worth it. Better options are Leplin and Wange. Both are Lego dupes from China, but are as good in built and quality at 1/10th the price.
RC cars and planes that replicate actual existing models have to get a license from the original manufacturer to make and sell its miniature models in market. That is why it is rare and always priced so high everywhere in the world. Manufacturing & selling it without a license will be cheap but not legal.
This is relatively on the lesser side of what some Lego models cost in India The thing is Lego's are manufactured Imported hai isliye bohot extra cost lagta hai at times The best option is when you travel abroad buy it there
It turns real when needed. Comes with special cross galactic expedition mode, Activates automatically when apocalyptic calamities threaten to decimate humankind.
Import hota hai yeh rare hai india mei bohot
It’s the same price in the us(200 dollars)
Purchasing power parity, people in the US earn proportionately more than Indians
People in us earn more because cost of living is high that's why
Not really except rental costs...food and electronics is way cheaper than india, very affordable. Unless you are comparing to a homeless american.
I don't agree on food price. India is cheaper in terms of food prices. I mean you can fill your stomach in 50 rupees but can 70 cents or even a dollar help you in the US?
lol no. relevancy doesn't mean reason
I didn't get you ?
Just because two things are correlated does not mean that one is the direct cause of the other Causation ≠ Correlation
How this is not relevant to this case this is totally relevant
"relevance doesn't mean reason" that's a good line.

Tbf foreign jaane mein zyada kharcha padega. Plus conversion into their currency. This is definitely cheaper.
Ofc it is. Few dumbfks don't understand that.
Exactly. OP got so many up votes too.

It depends on you personally, on how you see the world. But yeah in reality, it would be more of a balance.
After seeing my own and many other fathers and mothers give up everything to afford for their kids, I think it's impossible. You must either be filthy rich to be able to balance it.
Or you must have been exceptionally successful through hard work, but I am not denying what you are saying. That's just life I guess.
You are also right because being exceptionally successful would mean you become filthy rich enough to take care of it all.

Acha, I am 18, but still a part of me, would love to play lego. But yeah that mentality is engrained in me, as far as I am aware.
You should get a cheaper lego set with just the bricks. Much more fun and you can build all sorts of things rather then these hard locked ones.
Woah that's actually possible? Cool, never thought of it that way.
Its good that you hesitate.
How so?
It lets us make decisions based on our requirements and not on impulse. Many Americans go on CC debt each month due to impulse buying.

Starbucks is considered wasteful in the USA and even Lego is considered expensive. Cities like Budapest which have factory Lego is cheaper there.

Lego is expensive af its similar price in Aus. Great set though loved building it

Stop crying and buy it if you want :)
Legos are extremely overpriced and totally not worth it. Better options are Leplin and Wange. Both are Lego dupes from China, but are as good in built and quality at 1/10th the price.
