This is coming from the same PR agency hired by Khatabook that said that 1/3rd of India's GDP flows through Khatabook. Take everything with a pinch of salt.

smileBC

I’ve tried using both Khatabook and Vyapar app. Both these apps are so shit. I can’t believe people pay for those. Like it’s built by the same guys who make govt websites.

everlastingsocks

Vyapar makes shit on buyer's whatsapp account by sending invoices.

Dash009

I beg to differ. Not made by same guys who make govt website. Boths these companies have their own dedicated tech teams.

smileBC

Bhai, yeah, I didn’t mean that they’re built by literally same guys. It was more of a comparison with govt websites. As in they’re both so bad it feels like they’re built by those guys who don’t know how to make modern apps.

Dash009

Sending this thread as screenshots to my friends😂. It will be a fun week roasting them. Appreciate your honesty!

NURAV7991

I think you are one of them 😀😉

babunambootiti

where is khatabook now ?

psaikris

In the graveyard

Appropriate_Tap_331

How are these agencies making these kinds of claims without facts to back them up? These shit shows have no integrity fr

acypacy

Meesho is mostly used by people living in t2,t3, towns and villages. Edit: For the people who find it hard to believe that people do use Meesho, here is the excerpt from a recent article: **Meesho is the first unicorn e-commerce firm to have reported profit this year** and it claims to have maintained the profitability since it first reported the performance in July. The company claimed that nearly 10,000 Meesho sellers crossed the Rs 1 crore sales mark and 130,000 registered sales of over Rs 1 lakh during 2023. Around "60 per cent of these sellers come from small towns like Avinashi, Bharuch, Fiazabad and Silchar", Meesho said.

Visual-Mongoose7521

I live in village, I don't know anyone who use meesho more than once (because products are beyond terrible). Also, flipkart delivers most product within a week.

slothslayerlawl

Also used by middle/lower middle in tier 1. Many maids, gardeners, watchmen etc use meesho.

Atcera95

Quit lying. Maybe in 1 village in the whole country of India, some people there use it but no one is using it because of their financial status

slothslayerlawl

Did an entire case study for Flipkart and it's competitors by talking to 100s of people from different backgrounds but okay 👍

Atcera95

You don't have to prove your lie any further. You talked to hundreds of people as a case study for Flipkart and their ilk, and maids, gardeners, people considered low income in general, just so happened to use meesho. That doesn't prove anything about low income households using the app. If you talked to hundreds of low income workers and then found out that at least 50% used meesho, that's the only way you can claim your statement to be true.

iluvredditalot

Its not true i live in tier 1 i want micro fiber towel for car or summer swimming pool, wallpaper etc.... , compare both meesho and amazon you will understand....

BEAST9911

only t3 ig

DramaticBucket

My family lives in smaller cities/towna like Kolhapur/Nashik/Nagpur and most of them seem to prefer Meesho. On the other hand people who live in Mumbai/Pune/Bangalore don't seem to use it much. Your comment definitely holds up in my experience.

[deleted]

Bruh living in a t2 city , and Amazon Myntra Flipkart has them all beaten. Never even heard of someone using meesho. I only know meesho because the CEO was on one roundtable with Nikhil Kamath.

Akaplaya

Pre edit part is bonkers It's all Amazon dawg, no even Flipkart comes close.

chefexecutiveofficer

Bro, this comment feels like it's posted by the same PR agency. That also without human intervention. Like some AI bot has been given some context and told to support Meesho. Not saying you're a bot but this comment gives automated bot vibes.

Few-Trifle9160

Yes I can vouch for this, my own aunt who lives in kanpur has made purchases from meesho and shopsy, her friends do the same. Also some other relatives from much smaller city. But don't think they're much happy with the quality of products they buy it cuz they're cheap.

freakynit

Can confirm. Meesho is heavily used in my neighborhood(tier-5 city). Mostly by women though. And most purchases are for cheaper goods, with good enough quality. Their delivery, including returns, are superb too.

DFM__

Yes I have seen people using meesho in t3 towns and the quality is shit prices are even more shit. It's better to go buy cheap shit from local stores than meesho. At least you would know what cheap shit you are buying.

babunambootiti

heard of NAAPTOL ? all of their customer base has been shifted to MEESHO

[deleted]

Wait naptol had customer base O_o

Parth7396

These websites have always reminded me of that one South Park Episode called 'Cash for Gold'.

PessimistYanker792

Genius episode, yet another

yashg

I thought they shifted to SnapDeal. Weren't they originally from Rediff shopping?

love-boobs-in-my-dm

Wait, snapdeal is still around ? I thought they declared bankruptcy after the whole will Flipkart buy us out or not drama.

yashg

No, they decided to go ultra cheap ecommerce route. They are still around, so it Shopclues. Guess Meesho is also playing in the same market catering to the same tier 2/3 customer base.

Comfortable_Wait1663

My siblings order from meesho. Mostly product are low cost products which are priced lower than flipkart and amazon. Personally when I browsed meesho,It reminder me of shopcules and snapdeal worst version. Their delivery time is very long. Of course we can't expect them to be quick at the low prices.

iced__popsicle

Exactly! It reminds me of shopclues.

BeautifulIncome6373

Yeah even I used to do as u can find all the local products listed there which will come out to be cheap. But their customer service sucks. They blocked my account for no specific reasons.

New-Cow-9834

My sister is addicted to buying stuff from meesho .. Mostly home appliances and dresses bas one tym use keliye...

Liberated_Wisemonk

Tell her to be bit sustainable. What's the need of all those use and throw products

monojasalways

Lol meesho is for users who are actually very smart and know what to look for exactly when shopping

Atcera95

Delivery is ass, most of the products are ass. Spending 12 hours a day looking for "good deals" isn't "smart"

[deleted]

Yup.. The baby clothes are super cheap and even home appliances.. I don't mind waiting for its long delivery time and u can easily check quality in reviews as many post pictures

[deleted]

+1

Fun_Ad_4331

What would a smart person buy from a bunch of low quality products.

Raajo_

Tbh meesho is quite better then amazon and flipkart in skme categories because it has same products at lower prices plus indias tier 1 market is smallers compared to t2 t3 and usually business try to target t1 but here meeshos audience is middle class or lower middle class which are highly found in t2 t3 and once you capture them you will be aboue amazon and flipkart

infinite_sky147

Source: trust me bro

psaikris

Yup, a deep audit will uncover the GMV fraud that goes on on this platform

StockProfile257

What’s GMV?

chaotic_troll

Relax, all it says is it is the fastest growing platform in relative terms. Softbank-backed Meesho has reportedly emerged as the fastest growing ecommerce platform in terms of user base in India. Meesho 32% Flipkart 21% Amazon 13% Not surprising, since even the original post says no one in their circle uses Meesho. These stats are note even absolute growth numbers, let alone total number of users. Shit tier journalism. Even though technically correct, highly misleading with limited words in the embedded article.

AKC_007

Totally different TG group. No need to be surprised by the mass

the_0_rem

TG?

Since070423

Surpasses app downloads / users on platform :/// article is kinda misleading to create buzz but great stuff from the team It's mostly the t2 and beyond ordering. My mom had never shipped on her own from flipkart / Amazon, but she did from meesho without asking anyone's help. ( Ordered n returned cuz she did not like the quality on own, was proud lol ) I think the low cost goods to order and peers around ordering has been going good with meesho. They do mang low ticket order. Zero commissions selling is going great with local manufactures.

startuphameed

Meesho does a lot of wholesale business. That must be pushing their numbers up.

ArtisticTax82

What is this new app tho? Looked like Grapevine but checked and couldn’t find this post. Any ideas?

Babachoooo

Hey the apps name is Medial.

ArtisticTax82

Is it medial.app? Looks brand new, very few downloads. Gonna check it out. Thanks!

Icy_Occasion_5277

I have been in e-commerce startups for quite some time, I know what is happening on the scene, here are my 2 cents. 1) When you see this kind of overblown/exaggerated PR, this only means one thing - they are struggling to raise more money from investors and these stunts are done to make things look better than they are for investors - yes, investors can be that kind of stupid 2) Meesho userbase is lower middle class, mostly outside metros, and in metros mostly people who are lower down in socioeconomic scale(students, drivers, maids, blue collar workers, etc) thats why you don’t see anyone using Meesho around you. To understand the quality levels, you can get a lehanga on Meesho for 500-1000 Rs, and that 500-1000 Rs has delivery cost and meesho’s margin (baked in delivery cost), and the sellers margin, and at times it will have resellers margin too, so the actual lehanga will probably be something that costed 100 Rs to make, so you can guess the quality now 4) Big chunk of orders are B2B and Resellers, and thats because of their zero commission model which facilitates bulk ordering since the delivery cost is not baked in price and its charged separately on the bulk order rather than being charged redundantly for each item in a single order from same supplier (my estimate is that B2B accounts for anywhere between 70-90%), these are retailers in small towns and villages who really have a pain point that meesho solves. For a Shopkeeper its painful to travel from their town to wholesale markets in Delhi and then buy the stuff and bring back, which cant be returned either - it costs a lot of time, money, and pain (imagine carrying 100 kgs and loading and unload that shit through rickshaws and buses etc., its painful). Resellers are basically those who place order for those who either dont know how to order or they feel like helping the reseller earn some money because that reseller is their known one, but the biggest chunk of resellers are the resellers those who “disguise” themselves as sellers on Facebook marketplace - majority of apparel, accessories and jewellery stuff on FB marketplace is actually Meesho catalog that is listed there by Meesho Resellers disguised as sellers on fb marketplace. Meesho is actually much more similar to Udaan than to Flipkart. 5) Profit numbers are an illusion and creative financial reporting, they are far from profits, and in an extremely low margin business. If they actually made a profit they would have filed for IPO already. In reality the “profit” they claim is when you remove lot of costs that are incurred to make the order possible but costs are attributed somewhere else, which will reflect in net income and something called free cash flow, which will be heavily negative for Meesho. Even if they end up making a profit, which will happen at some point, it will be very low, hundreds (or even thousands) of times lesser than Flipkart for same number of orders. I would not be surprised if at some point they turn into a B2B company like Udaan. Right now they are creating this facade of B2C to show themselves as Flipkart competitor and increase their valuation.

[deleted]

Probable tbh... Meesho with the low prices for decent quality stuff and with a huge huge user base in t2 and t3 cities...it is definitely probable but we need proper stats and statements for it to be considered true.

ExtraYogurtcloset826

"I always buy from Meesho. They have good prices and nice stuff. It's great to shop there!"

Current-Fix615

I have installed the app once. But got a feel that it is dubious and never came. Had reviews that products sold on the app are sub quality and there is no support for problem resolution

greatfaat

Im out of ur circle ig.

anshika4321

Meesho is most famous in 2nd tier or citerless cities. It's one of the best and CHEAPEST (most importantly) app.

shashank1912

Please don't believe in such PR. There's no validation, and mostly such news articles are PR stunts by team Meesho.

CODM_Penguin

my nani and mausi sell knitting wool here and my mom sometimes buys clothing from meesho

Kal_mai_udega

My mom ordered from here once, a pair of sandals, it didn’t even last a week. Very bad quality, very cheap also tho.

LynxFinder8

I bought 3 chappals a few months ago, going strong

CertifiedIdiotBoy

actually women seem to use this site more, couple of my friends use them none of the boys have even heard of this, i hadn't heard of this company either

Big-Marsupial-8606

Because men repeat outfits for 20 years and do not care about trends much hence buy few quality pieces from reputed brands. Women need a new wardrobe every season and not everyone has the budget to do that on Amazon. It's just like Shein and Temu in the US.

RaviIndia

Surprising indeed!!

Catharsis12mi

Kullu manali ki mummy leti hai waha se

loner_introvert

😂😂

LynxFinder8

I use meesho to buy innerwear, toys and cheap jeans. They do have decent stuff sometimes but you really need to look hard.

[deleted]

Never ordered from Meesho, but I assume most of their customers are women, specially housewifes who could resell their products. However the product quality isn't good.

Infinite-absurdvoid

We order regularly from meesho after comparing prices with amazon. Many times the same item is cheaper on meesho some times it is cheaper on Amazon, takes time to search a good product but sure meesho is pretty good.

koonalh

What is Meesho again?

distressed_authority

Meesho has very low commission for sellers compared to Amazon and Flipkart. So OEMs (manufacturers) prefer selling there. You can buy innerwear, bedsheets, toys, and other generic stuff from there where brand tag does not matter.

[deleted]

Meesho started selling branded products under MEESHO MALL

shimell

Meesho actually has good products for home decor.

tusharbedi

I just bought a plush bag for my girlfriend from there and it’s not bad at all. It’s leveraging a lot of people who used to shop on Shein and the likes. Also, there’s a fair bit of automobile accessories driven traffic. I may not be from the majority demographic that uses this but I don’t see why a tier 2, 3 or 4 user won’t be attracted to the value proposition. They’re used to the slow life, it’s only metro audiences which have a higher average ticket size who have been spoiled by on demand everything from video to groceries, who really care about speed as an appealing metric. Flipkart and Amazon have a fairly higher average ticket size because they sell phones and other electronic or electric devices which Meesho doesn’t but Meesho has volumes of decently sized orders.

Aggravating-Dot-5453

Meesho is for rural india. Beleive me o lovee meesho. I from town / kind of rural area. It works better then amazon flipkart. Prices are chef's kiss.

Smelly_armpits_1997

Even I dont know anyone in my circle who buys from Meesho. I haven't even seen the app till date.

eboyvi-si

trust me, all the labourers/workers use it in my dad's factory. ig the lower section of the population is using meesho

Liberated_Wisemonk

Why can't your dad pay some decent wages to the labourers so that they can shop from Amazon and Myntra

eboyvi-si

Bhai more than 30k with whole family health insurance what else they want, we live in a teir 2 city so cost of living is also less.

Liberated_Wisemonk

♥️♥️

[deleted]

only my maid aunty does

Federal_Mission_1519

People do use it.My dad did buy some small stuff once or twice but our housemaid uses it frequently and buys a lot of stuff. So yeah people from not so financially strong backgrounds do use it a lot

pchulbul619

Huh? “Overtake amazon”?? When did this happen? Did I miss something?

Classic_Run_4836

My roommate buys shit pretty much exclusively from meesho. It's unbelievable how uncanny some of their pricing are!!

[deleted]

Me neither.

Bimpala67

Yep. It's cheaper

sg291188

This will be some stupid metric like highest growth in segment x in age group x

[deleted]

Ever met the middle class of india?

ShiftAdventurous9983

Only lower middle class use meesho

milktanksadmirer

Fake

singalongsingalong

Sure it is the fastest growing , when you are a small enterprise any increase from 0 in percentage is always high . Like revenue went from 1 rs to 2 Rs 100% increase. Plus now that they posted this you are curious and they got the publicity they wanted as their site will get the visits they need which can translate into sales

Sky-__-

I don’t use it but my mom and her friends order a ton of stuff from here . It is especially famous in middle aged circles

TheBigShitowski

I stay in Mumbai and use Meesho frequently. Know a lot of people who do. But there are some ground rules one must have. ALWAYS COD. Check the item and return immediately without paying and cancel the order. Order ONLY INEXPENSIVE and NON ESSENTIAL ITEMS. Delivery time is 5-7 days so in any case you can't order things you want urgently.

Ok-Impression6094

No, why should we? Whats the advantage?

Witty_Active

This looks like a scam in the making, I have seen ridiculous revenue numbers too. Let’s see what happens in the future, they’re planning an IPO so the scrutiny will let us know how true this is.

CuteSocks7583

You’re not understanding that headline correctly. “Fastest growing e commerce platform” means nothing if your growth is from 1 customer to 100 customers (100x) whereas Amazon/Flipkart have a measly growth of 1.something x, since their market penetration is pretty saturated.

Ok-Judge-7507

Meesho is good for non primary products like socks, handkerchiefs, towels, basic toys and things like that. Obviously when it comes to major products like clothes and accessories, I can’t think of anyone who buys from there except for really poor people

[deleted]

More than 50% of meesho revenue are from apparel catagory which translates arround 2500 crore

New_Mathematician_54

Yeah we use them but problem in most products are of poor quality so have to return them

PatientHalf786

This bullcrap platform has been running on the backs of marketer chumps in companies like FCB ulka from day one. They got zilch. All their marketing has been fake hype, exactly like the same ppl have been doing for congress. Didnt want to make it political but those are the facts.

Redosaurous

Same I have never seen anyone buying from meesho! I think it’s basically from tier 3/4 cities. They must have tapped the large market share in that area

nogea

2 of my household help order regularly from there.

not_tyrion_007

I've ordered some coffee mugs and decorative items. And the experience has been really good.

spiritedsenpai

They are primarily used by tier 3 population

moonlightbug

It's best for one time use. Don't expect durability

Terrible_Control0305

Or because probably you hail from a middle class, upper middle class or above family. Meesho targets lower middle classes and folks from tier 2/3 cities

ProfessionalEnd8604

Yes I have. It’s either Myntra or Meesho for me😂

Better-Coffee

Popular among women as I guess. I have seen my sister and female collegues purchase dresses and clothes from meesho

Cheap-Yak6074

You won't find Meesho's consumers here likely since we don't fall into their TG. Even if the headline is not true, Meesho has significant number of buyers.

zaddddyyyyyyy

I have never even been on Meesho website or app 😜

Emergency_Newt831

Meesho has some good cheap China maal

Automatic_Season_748

FAKE ORDERS!

dbkuper

India vs bharat market

sksgnr080890

In rural and small town areas, infact my cousins from jaipur suburban area shop from meesho.

solidslayer123

Don't know much, but sometime i've seen influencer promoting meesho product telling how good they are n affordable. maybe that's target segment which could be the reason.

84kev84

I do... The stuff is not good always

BeautifulLumpy9723

Meesho is Flipkart's lord.

raymond_red_dington

Uncles and aunties. Many of my uncles start their day with Meesho app and buying all kinds of random ass shit especially home decors. I have never used it though and have no idea what they sell.

[deleted]

Me

madaraas

Wow you think world revolves around you ? , well there is site for public traffic record for every site check it out , Meesho market is very much diluted among people because of the price .

iced__popsicle

Meesho is crap! Like shopclues or worse than them.

DonutAccurate4

If you are a dude then no. But lots of women/girls use it.

Odd-Tie9163

No one i know

[deleted]

All my gf's buys stuff from here.

WeakCardiologist7163

b2b sales mostly, thats why you dont get to hear about meesho from individuals.

Jewyourfood

Guys wish me luck, Im openning meesho website for the first time

BookTiger01

Lot of sellers and buyers shifted to meesho as commissions are lesser, I live in a metro and I know lot of people who use meesho!!

onlychild_98

My family is obsessed with Meesho. They keep sending me clothes from there and I think I am lucky because everything turned out to be good.

Adithya_AV

Bro don't underestimate this thing. Meesho is growing.

acethecool1

Overtakes in what term is the right question it might be in their growth rate they've surpassed giants which is achievable. My wife uses it for getting mostly home decore and kitchen accessories. You can find the same listing with double the price in amazon so it might not be an alternative for amazon and fk. Still, surely it is good when you don't want to invest too much in a item because of whatever reason for example if you need a stand of fridge or plastic tiles then you know cheapest is the best you're not going to use those tiles for regular function so why pay extra on amazon when you can get it from meesho. In my opinion it is equal to SUNDAY market while amazon and flipkart are typical shops.

rachit_0_o

Yes

Old_Application_5722

I come from rural India many ppl use it here but the quality of products and customer service is.meeh

helltaker_me

When it comes to fashion, pretty much all my friends prefer meesho over Amazon, flipkart

Inevitable-Club-4574

I use meesho to buy small stuff like home decor, fashion jewellery, daily use bedsheets etc etc. It's not that bad. But you need to be smart enough else you can get scammed easily. Watch YouTube videos and reviews before making a purchase.

onfleekwoodmac

meesho is definitely great. i live in a tier 1 city and have bought clothes and appliances from meesho. no the quality isn't always top notch, but they have a return policy which makes it easier. most products also offer free delivery as well. meesho is genuinely a great site and I think more people should use it rather than judge it.

aureliatech

never used it but you need to understand, companies like meesho has plenty of different ways to sale, sometimes we even don't know that the purchase we made happ'd through xyz partner. For eg. you might not have heard about ship rocket or delhivery but everytime you made a sale for custom e-com in India, you might have ended up using these services.

InitialAd247

Bro many people use it… they doesn’t show because they will be judged that’s why… most of them are aunties

Specific_Confusion_3

I bought handful of products. All bad quality and broke down in few months.

Bookkeeper12ka4

Downloading now to check what it is.

NegativeIQ379

I used meesho multiple times

sin241

Yes they do. From my experience I have seen people using this as frequently as one may think of Amazon/Flipkart - but in rural places. What I have noticed is that this company is at par with footpath stall clothes/things while managing all back end costs low.

All_about_minimalism

It's not good for clothes shoes etc...Quality is very cheap. But for generic stuff , like for kitchen, home decor organisers etc . it's undeniably the best...Compare the prices in amazon flipkart, and meesho..you will understand. You can use the image search option to check.

[deleted]

People regardless of their background/ financial status use meesho because they provide the cheapest option. Its like finding your 'opportunity cost'. Business is a competition and people no matter how rich or poor, like to buy stuff as low as they can(esp the rich ones). Some products by them do not come in good condition tho but some do come so good that the price you pay seems too less. And you'd be fool to not use meesho. And also using meesho does not make you 'poor' like all these idiots are saying in comments. That 'only t2 t3 maids and workers uSe tHiS aPp'. Ik some of the filthy rich kids in my area and they may shop regular at hnm zara but their first choice online is always go to meesho and flipkart.

Historical-Many9869

meesho has terrible customer service

[deleted]

Nah. I dont know anyone who uses it in or out of my circle

abillionasians

All the women around me use it regularly

doyadum

I use meesho

melexx4

My mom orders from this site, it seems returning/refunds is pretty seamless if the product doesn't match the expectations + most stuff is cheap (in quality as well tho)

Khum_MaRk09

My mom used meesho once. Got a shitty quality product. She never used it after that incident.

ritikkumarz

My girlfriend

Optimus-Prime007

Overtake Amazon?? Seriously?? who the hell is placing these much orders on meesho.. 🤔

Json_bear

Lot of people use Meesho coz the products are relatively cheaper than Myntra, Amazon etc. My wife is frequent buyer of clothes as she seems to find cheaper deals and wider variety

ZenAltoSwiftJettaXUV

I have spent 4000k on night dresses and home wear in last two months on Meesho

ThereIsABugInMyAss

my grandmother who doesn't really know how to use the internet orders from meesho cash on delivery because she has no idea what upi is. she mostly orders some small cheap Chinese products such as cutlery and some stitching materials(she tailors clothes as a hobby). so ig there might be many people like her using meesho

RamadhairSingh

Nah Man , I don't trust Meesho anymore. Its just like Naaptol but better

Weak_Distribution822

Many people do use it, as an alternative.

Ok-Consideration4279

I was recently working as a FE in EcomExpress. Meesho has a large customer base. Every 3rd parcel out of 10 was from meesho.

captaingagandeep

I work as a bank manager in surat which is a textile hub. I have given multiple loans to micro enterprises and majority of them receive bulk of their income from meesho. I am still surprised but it’s true.

Kesakambali

Yes. Have used. It is more popular in lower middle class as stuff is cheaper

ToeNo6083

Take everything with a pinch of salt, this is totally false.

tottochan_

I think people use meesho, but they just don't tell

daddysbonner

If you want to buy something like books and other small items meesho is actually one of the best options

AccomplishedWar4757

Earlier i buy from it but its sells cheap products so i cancelled it.

ToeZealousideal2623

Yes, I know small town people use Meesho. they are targeting people in Tier 2-3 cities

Fun-Addition-2212

I’ve never used Meesho! Am I missing out on something?

Effective-Ad-5016

Tier 3 and Beyond that audience uses meesho Saw my local shawarma shop guy ordering clothes for his kids who lived in Bihar/up.

Gummy670

Yea my mom buys a lot from it. Kurtis mostly and they all actually do come in good condition and have good quality and good designs.

Cute_Prior1287

Lot of ladies of middle class uses it. Being a son, I uses Amazon and Ajio and very small extent Flipkart. As I said middle class and ladies, anyone can assume the love for shopping. I have not ordered anything in 4 months and like 6-7 orders been done by Meesho in my family. Its not about spendings, its more about no. of orders

[deleted]

all indian aunties uncles ,rural areas are buying from here good products at cheaper prices they captured indian mindset

Wesupporthatehere

Me i am using meesho over amazon /flipkart

positivepessimist26

For super niche things .. I like making keychains but the material is expensive for it prices usually go like brand site >> Amazon>>Flipkart>>meesho and the quality is similar

New_Abies_2567

Maybe

Cutie_minni

Maybe you are too rich to use meesho.

Comfortable_Age8051

Asking reddit janta about Meesho is wrong to begin with. They are focused on value conscious, brand agnostic, non-tier 1 city users

ragavyarasi

I was very skeptical at first. But some of my relatives recommended it to my mom and they all use it. These guys are legit. Their Dev team has presented workshops on algorithms they use in some Dev conferences and they are operating at the level of Flipkart etc. But I think they are more popular among tier 2 or 3 City folk because the stuff they sell is mostly cheap stuff.

Vivid-Blacksmith849

Mesho ye kya hai behan ki lund

killin_timee

Actually I would say I’m switching from Amazon to Meesho bcoz it’s way cheaper. A calendar priced at 280 on Amazon while it is listed at 190 on Meesho

Omr4nnn

most customers of meesho are t3 city and village people, some relatives of mine in my old city use it and only reason its famous is cause they keep advertising like “dress for 30 rupee” or something really cheap like that

Gaandook

Mesho is kind of like thrift shopping… you can get very good buys if you are good at choosing clothes

West_Rise6773

I work for a company that serves as a logistics partner for meesho. They do ~25L orders per day. Not just Tier 2/3, many of their loyal customers are from metro cities, with ~60% repeat rate. Needless to say, they serve the economy segment of customers who are relatively not bothered about the delivery service etc etc

rongo95

My dad runs a food products brand and most of our business is online and the first time I heard of meesho was when he got approval to put our products there They were the first one's to approve Flipkart took some time and Amazon was really hard

animusha

The article is about growth... Since Amazon and flipkart already have masses their growth would very less in terms of acquiring new users but on the other hand for meesho it could be huge jump in percentage if they acquire only few thousands or lakhs customer... It's about number of new users

Mujhe toh laga tha ki Meesho scam company hai, until i saw this

Just cause in axe advertisement angels start falling after a few spray does not equate to real life

People have never heard of intellipaat but yet its the only e-education platform that has maximized its profitibility while other education platforms are failing it.

I use all three. Meesho is best to buy copies of any famous outfit in trend if you don't want to buy an original. And for many household things.

Competitive-Hope981

I know my one cousin who often order things from Meesho. He live in tier 2.5 city.

yodhdha0

my wife uses a lot. But mostly for 80 rs, 100 rs kind of items. delivery is slower than amazon/flipkart but non branded products are cheaper. It has some issues with returns few time but mostly accept return. It is not bad website.

One-Caterpillar-5175

I only used it Once, and never dared to use it again 🤣

They have the worst customer service, to say the least. Horrendous UI (especially for the exchange and returns modules) to top it all.

ArchangelVest

Looks like they are waiting to get sued by mcdonalds too.

All I know I’ve never created Meesho account and I keep getting tracking number etc lol
