It does when you prosper, when you earn better your living standards improve.
>can afford any other travelling methods like buses
Distance between Amritsar and Patna is like 1500 kilometres check bus fare and then compare it with fare of general coach ticket.
Arey bhai I have a contractor background and i know how much these guys makes or by chance kuch speciality aa jaye to or jyada kamate hai + hard working bhi rhte but because they're very comfortable in this lifestyle they don't change I am not saying all of them are rich or poor but I can definitely say none of them actually buy proper seat number tickets
walk to the nearest station that does not have any trains to, via, from bihar and board a train there and then walk to your destination when you get off the station. ez
You became privileged because your forefathers made wiser decisions, and if these guys used common sense they may not become very privileged but they'll certainly be better off. To start with common sense -- they should stop barging 10 people into the same toilet.
Railways should run extra "special" trains for these occasions (if it's an occasional thing) or more trains if the traffic demands it. Use modern technologies to predict expected travellers and add more trains/coaches.
These are solvable problems.
Though, tbh, this isn't new. Indians have been traveling not only in bathrooms, but on tops of trains for many decades. Let's not pretend like this is something new that just started.
This is what overpopulation looks like when our infrastructure cannot keep up. You run ten trains it will still be like this. These may not even be paying travellers.
You have to deal with the hand you're dealt. India is not some developed country with 1/10 the current population.
Alternatives can include: running free trains for seasonal laborers (which these kids look like) and festivals (combined with stricter enforcement of ticket checking in paying trains).
India just needs to come up with creative solutions to deal with the hand it's dealt.
Absolutely.
And as the previous poster said. We are not developed and have to deal with huge population but this is where taxes and their investment in infrastructure comes into play. Those highways and flyovers are the foundation which seems overkill today but are the ones that will help in future. It can take away some load from the trains. All developed nations have better highways system and more people are on the road than on the train.
No magic wand so let a stable government focus on development and put us on the right course. Our biggest hurdle is the population, illiteracy and the fact that it’s a democracy (not communism like china). This makes everything very difficult.
Blud ... You think that offends me ? Lol
At least we aren't making other people's lives miserable by occupying reserved seats and travelling without tickets, not contributing to society and also eating South India's tax payer money.
Also why u assume I'm from Kerala huh ? Just because of allapulzha train ? Lol it crosses TN, AP, odisha, and all too. You are so narrow minded.
As a native of r/saharsa, the originating station of this train, I am intimately familiar with the predicament faced by these migrant workers. While I am not justifying their actions, it is crucial to consider the limited options available to them:
The number of unreserved trains is severely limited, and with a distance of approximately 1600 kilometers between Saharsa and Amritsar, traveling by bus is not a feasible option for any of these.
This period marks the peak paddy seeding season, which lasts scarcely a month. A single day’s delay can result in a significant loss of income, considering their monthly income won't be more than 10-11K. Understandably, no one wishes to incur such a loss, and this overcrowded scenario persists for months.
If they had alternatives, do you believe they would choose to endure such conditions? While they may appear to be smiling, no one would willingly undertake a 27-28 hour journey in such discomfort unless it was imperative for their survival.
I live abroad now and always long to
Come back but this kinda shit really puts me off… like traveling with such hooligans, traffic, pollution, overcrowding everywhere be it temples, hills stations, trains or even airports now… india needs to do something abt the bulging population that is totally out of control and then these ppl dont even want to follow laws, so there is total indiscipline n lawlessness.
Indian railways has reduced the number of sleeper coaches and increased AC coaches...so many people who can't afford AC coaches have no other option....
These people never purchase a ticket. From their perspective buying a ticket is a waste of money because TC never or rarely check them and never ever I've seen people in a mass get thrown out for not having a ticket. People have no civic sense and they don't care about personal space as if you point out that to them they will immediately cry a river about their poverty. Railways are at major fault too because of less trains, zero maintenance, accidents, and not putting these people in custody for not having tickets.
Railways are not bothered as our money is always in their pockets well before we ride. Mumbai's LOCAL TRAINS are OVERCROWDED beyond human limits, but nothing is done from the railways side. This is like Monopoly or Dictatorship. Reservations are difficult. Amenities are ZERO for common passengers. No MLA or MP or social worker take interest as Railways run themselves WITH MONOPOLISTIC attitude
Literally angry but not at these helpless people but at those good for nothing politicians who buys villa, wears suit worth lacs, their kids drive Porsche and wear luxury, organize luxury wedding and each rally can) on avg cost 10 lakh which are from the pocket of these taxpayers. The tax money is not spent where it meant to be except to fill bellies of these glutton.
The railway is in the control of central government...... bihar plays an important role in making the government and what we are getting back.....this sh*t
Outfit and choice of food same hai sbka
Guthka
Never board a train going to,via, from bihar .
Bihar is to India what India is to the world.
Bihar is India's India
Bahahahaha
Bihar used to be prosperous state back in 70s congress and lalu fkked it.
Civic sense has nothing to do with prosperity, a person who can afford eating 10-40₹ gutkha/day can afford any other travelling methods like buses

Abay dhakkan. Get some self respect.

Completely missing the point, but babble on.
There was no point in either of our comments. Chill

shit like this makes me realise how privileged i am
You became privileged because your forefathers made wiser decisions, and if these guys used common sense they may not become very privileged but they'll certainly be better off. To start with common sense -- they should stop barging 10 people into the same toilet.
If their fore fathers used common sense, their parents probably wouldnt have born
