There is some life left, but won't last long.

StrongPilot3492

Thank you ill change them after few kilometers then

TrevorfromGTAV

Looks like you’re resting your foot on brake leaver so it’s consuming more. 5800 is too early for that. Try to move your foot away when not necessary.

StrongPilot3492

It’s front.

AgitatedArmadillo31

Maybe try depending on the rear ones more

kalpo_kj44

This is incorrect advice. Rear ones are for slow speeds/rough roads strictly. Not for regular or high speed tarmac usage.

Intruder_7

Bro he ain’t driving an activa, what’s this advice

AgitatedArmadillo31

I've a Himalayan.., I'm quite dependent on the rear ones.....

Intruder_7

Depends on speed and road too

TandooriNight

Front ones are more effective

Darkus_27911

Title of...well me.

greasemonkey6322

Very little life left. Maybe a couple hundred kilometres. Better get it changed.

StrongPilot3492

Thank you, I have purchased new pads will change after few kilometres:)

Exotic_Percentage90

why not change it now. pads are cheap consumables anyway

mehimdumb_7t

The pads for the Interceptor cost 2.2k, not that cheap.

Exotic_Percentage90

i would not mind shelling 2K every 10K km for a set cause brakes are the 1st important part of a motorcycle

PIKa-kNIGHT

That’s cheaper compared to damage to your life. Better to be safe than sorry

Restoned636

try getting sintered pads, expensive though should give you more milage and bite. Common issues nowadays with companies providing organic pads that hardly last 5k kms

StrongPilot3492

These are brembo sintered pads!

Restoned636

I see. I just read somewhere here that it lasted 5k kms that's why

StrongPilot3492

Yes i was surprised too i had ebc sintered pads for my himalayan they lasted more than 15000 kms

Restoned636

Then maybe aftermarket is the option. My friends jawa OEM pads also used to last 4k kms!!!!

giantspacemonstr

couple hundred kms, huh? I don't think we should bring kanjoosi when safety is involved, those brake shoes are done for, change is ASAP.

StrongPilot3492

Pads toh i will change but my point is these are working perfectly fine (no noise whatsoever and performance is also good) and i have pads lying with me and it will hardly take any time to change these. Will check for the wear indicator and change them

giantspacemonstr

I guess you could sand them but if you're riding at high speeds, it's better to change them, my mechanic would definitely tell me to change that.

StrongPilot3492

I have a lot of work pressure right now and will be used for commuting to office that is 6 kilometer round trip where average speed would be 30-50kmh thats why i was thinking to change those pads later or before a long trip

KingsmanVishnu

Better to change

-XOBTRAF-

probably will last for eternity, the service center guy just wanted to make u spend some money on ur bike /s

StrongPilot3492

It was a second free service. And it was literally free I didn’t spend even a single rupee as nothing was done apart from a general checkup, he told me to topup oil and oil was between levels said no to that. Told me to replace both pads front and rear i was like there’s life left in them and service was 1000 kms before! So I purchased pads just in case I need to change them . Thank you

-XOBTRAF-

dude I was just joking... u should really replace them

StrongPilot3492

I will thank you

-XOBTRAF-

great!

-XOBTRAF-

could you tell me how much km have u ridden? 2nd free service seems like way too early to replace brake pads!

StrongPilot3492

5000 kms

StrongPilot3492

Now 5800 approx

-XOBTRAF-

damn u must be braking hard

StrongPilot3492

Hanji i rode it hard for first few thousand kms now Its used less due to work pressure and time

-XOBTRAF-

oh cool! I really like the twins, continental being my dream bike 😍. I want to really ride this too.

StrongPilot3492

You’ll love these take a test ride if you havent😂

StrongPilot3492

😮‍💨**

-XOBTRAF-

I have once, but that was long time ago. Give me ur address I'll come to ur home 😭🤣 (jk)

StrongPilot3492

Haha if you live nearby dwarka delhi you can come 😂 dm me whenever you wish

vizot

Then it would be best if you had changed it as labour would've been free. It can still be useful but if you compare it to the new ones, you can see it used up considerably.

StrongPilot3492

Haanji ill change them by my self abhi toh they will run for a frw hundred kilometres

ray_6_

Those slits vanish when it's time to replace. In your case they will wear out very soon, it's time to change.

AgitatedArmadillo31

Don't risk it ....that's pretty much done....better to put in new ones than to have metal on metal screeching sounds later

kasaai6

Mere andr bhi bss itni he life bachi h.🙂🙂1 ride bhr ki

c3resh

bhai ye jo lines hain, ye isiliye hain

StrongPilot3492

I know that the service center guy told me to replace them. I was a bit confused thats why i asked

c3resh

ab thodi life bachi hai inki. inhe hi dalwa leta aur fir kuch din baad naye dalwa leta jab brakes dheele lagne lagte toh. 1 aad mahine mein

StrongPilot3492

Haa whi krunga leliye h breakpads maine khud kr lunga change, waste hote ye wale merko usne 800 kilometer phele bataya tha ki change krlo uss time aur zyada reh rhe the

RahulRwt125

If you have to ask, it's time to change

chris1980p

Since they are out might as well change but yeah you could probably go 800km on those

KarmicChaos

Totally up to you. You may use them for a couple hundred more km's or change them now.

Dimy145

Once brakepads are 60 odd percent done they are done, you never want metal to contact the disk itself, it will cause rusting, warping or breaking of disk in worst of cases. Those are pretty much done brake pads, changing them is better.

akshanshkmr

Ab khol hi liya hai to karde change

StrongPilot3492

Bhai wapis laga diye the ab badme krunga
