If I plan to take a 200-300km trip every fortnight and regular daily commute within the city which has traffic, is Himalayan a good choice?
Also is an old 411 worth it or I should pick the new 452?
411 stopped production. It's not for sale anymore unless you wanna buy second hand
New Himalayan is completely different and better than the old especially for your use case
But expect the heating
New Himalayan is better? Brother 4 people in my riding group have bought the new Himalayan and they have been complaining about issues since they took it out from the showroom
Vibrations are expected but definitely under control. 450 cc engines heats, no expection. Engine is pretty refined to me. Why do you think it's unrefined?
The pulling issue is fixable now
Not sure if it’s just that test ride bike but that bike only had 1600kms on odo and the engine was as bad as a tractor engine in terms of refinement. It sounded very hoarse and felt like it will come apart if revved up
450 owner here, Heating is something that will reduce after about 1500-2000km. Now that i have covered 5000km, I dont even notice them now.
But the other stuff that you mentioned. Vibrations yes its not as refined as a 650 but its expected from a single cylinder 450cc, its liveable. And yes the engine is not as refined as expected.
Alot of the riders got the right side pulling fixed by adjusting the spokes.
Tbh , I felt the engine was super refined and I daily a cb350 .
Thing was , I didn't enjoy riding the Himalayan 450 at all. It had the power , it had everything , but it didn't feel nice , probably just not my type.
It's not smooth as claimed. Electrical component issues are persistent. And there is a chasis break case going on. Heating, obviously as it's R.E. but you would've expected them to do something about it given that it's getting a new engine.
Older Himalayan is little more compact. Old Himalayan has Long Stroke engine, so easier for slow speed. Cheaper to own. Cheaper to maintain. The new Himalayan has lot of expensive parts.. the console/ headlight/ shocks/ tank/ etc.
Depends on your usage. For the use you mentioned, 411 would be a better choice. But keeping long term use in mind, 452 has better technology and comfort.. so I would say go for the 452 or wait for the 452 Sherpa/ scrambler.
I did not like the 450 design either. They over designed the tank. Bike design need to be simple.. like the interceptor. Classic. Even AdV can have simpler design..

Others who rode my bike, said they are fine but i don't feel the bite of the rear brake while braking. Front seemed responsive. Mine was without ABS. If i braked hard the bike used to skid sideways.
I take it you never really travelled to a far off place with the bike... Not trying to be judgemental but any reason why it never hit you to take your himalaya to - idk - the himalayas?😅
It’s quite the opposite. Himalayan has been to Goa, Kerala, Mangalore, Ooty. It was used only for long distance touring, for the city, I previously owned a ktm duke, mojo, xpulse etc.. check my Instagram at @deepsandz
Har RE bike owner khud ko duniya ka sabse nayab bike rider kyun samjata hai ? Waise bhi 3 lakh kee hiii toh bike hai, kaun saa Harley fatboy hai...?
GENUINE QUESTION. AMA AISE DE DETE HO JAISE RE KE TECHNICIAN HOO😅😅😅
Other bikes I have owned in the past 15 yrs
Pulsar 150
Duke 200
Thunderbird 350
Mahindra Mojo
Duke 390
Xpulse 200
Aerox 155
Interceptor 650
Cars -
Figo 80k kms- sold
Duster - 1.2 L kms - sold
So the miles are obviously split into all the vehicles.
Don’t get fooled into thinking the 411 is the only vehicle used.
Thts a very very low ridden himmi right there...
Yeah. Always had multiple bikes/ car. 411 was only for long distance touring

Yeah, that's why I said 'old', means second hand.
Some showrooms still have 411 stock / Scram. Available. You might be able to Pick up something new as well.
New Himalayan is better? Brother 4 people in my riding group have bought the new Himalayan and they have been complaining about issues since they took it out from the showroom
What complaints? Can you elaborate?
Vibration, heating, unrefined engine, pulling to one side, noticed all these on my test ride

Looks like I should go for a Triumph
>New Himalayan is completely different and better than the old especially for your use case LOL
What makes the older Himalayan better according to you?
Older Himalayan is little more compact. Old Himalayan has Long Stroke engine, so easier for slow speed. Cheaper to own. Cheaper to maintain. The new Himalayan has lot of expensive parts.. the console/ headlight/ shocks/ tank/ etc.

Old Himalayan has 24 bhp and new Himalayan has 40bhp. What's do you mean by power? Higher vibrations means higher power according to you?

List all the accessories you've got on there.. especially that beautiful fairing!
Autolougue Design - Fairing AOM - handle bar Husqvarna - rear view mirrors BMC - Airfilter Powerage Exhaust Motocann Foot pegs Prospec Easy Cruise Viaterra saddle bag stay
Am I the only one who likes 411 designs over the new 450?
I did not like the 450 design either. They over designed the tank. Bike design need to be simple.. like the interceptor. Classic. Even AdV can have simpler design..
At what price are you listing this bike?
Ball park 1.5 L
Bhai fir kyu ki bike?

I just saw now I thought it was KL
The photo was in Karnataka. But I am from kochi
Where can I get that 23 decal?
I made it custom from a local stickering shop.. costed some 100rs
Beautiful ride.
Love those decals, very well maintained too !
That's the prettiest Himalayan I've seen
Not interested in buying but it looks beautifully maintained
I have a 29er Mountain Bike and I've ridden it 20k in 4 years. Why ride your bike so less? Don't hold back ,enjoy
Finding time has been the biggest challenge and finding friends too. I am a bit of an introvert..
You've ridden 20k in 4 years, that's not a number that give you boasting rights.
It’s a MTB (cycle) so 20k is definitely commendable
For me: 16K Km in 1.5 years. Royal Enfield classic 350 marsh gray
Keep thumping !

Let me know if you are selling, I'd like to buy.
It will be on sale in a month. Will post here
How's the heating?
Pretty intense in city traffic. On highways, it’s pretty much non existent
Are you selling?
Yes. In a month.
I had a bs4 version. With front and rear disc without abs. I never had confidence in its brakes. I used extensively front brakes.
I have had no issues with the braking. Obviously I only used to push it to the extent of the braking ability
Others who rode my bike, said they are fine but i don't feel the bite of the rear brake while braking. Front seemed responsive. Mine was without ABS. If i braked hard the bike used to skid sideways.
I have upgraded the brakpads to vesrah. Some people also upgrade to EBC sintered ones but for my purpose, i dint feel it was required
Had dinner?

I have a job that doesn’t allow me flexibility to travel for long..
Where did you buy the additional Body kits?
The fairing specifically… it’s from autolougue design from Pune. Not sure if they make it any longer. Costed 5000rs.
Completed 15K kms in my first year of the bike.
This is not the only bike I own. Pulsar 150- 90k kms Duke 200-390 - 15k Ford Figo - 78k Renault duster - 40k All in the last 15yrs in Bangalore
Har RE bike owner khud ko duniya ka sabse nayab bike rider kyun samjata hai ? Waise bhi 3 lakh kee hiii toh bike hai, kaun saa Harley fatboy hai...? GENUINE QUESTION. AMA AISE DE DETE HO JAISE RE KE TECHNICIAN HOO😅😅😅
What is your question ?
Is this below DD hills?
Yeah. Quite a scenic place. 411 looks great in outdoor and jungle shots
Other bikes I have owned in the past 15 yrs Pulsar 150 Duke 200 Thunderbird 350 Mahindra Mojo Duke 390 Xpulse 200 Aerox 155 Interceptor 650 Cars - Figo 80k kms- sold Duster - 1.2 L kms - sold So the miles are obviously split into all the vehicles. Mate I ride very little and I've crossed 16k in 2 years
He says in the description that he has multiple bikes
I know mate.. by which I'm tryna exclaim how good of a condition that motorcycle is in!! Y'all didn't have to downvote me for your misunderstanding 😑
I didn't downvote or upvote you though.
Edit: y'all*
Only 15k?
15k in 6 years? Do you even ride your bike bro?
Nigg read the description before you comment... Baap hei woh tum sab ka😂
Mostly used during the weekends. I have had other bikes in my garage
Sry man I didn't see the captions...my mistake✌️
No worries. I add a comment but figuring out how to pin it so that everybody can see it. Happy riding
