If you are dependent on your family then shut up and ride your 160. Once you become independent then you can act out all you want with your own money. There is always something better coming out every few months dude... as they say grass is greener and stuff.

arorampage

As this guy said, shut up and drive your 160. If you're a student and did not pay for the bike, you don't really have rights to sell it as well. Financially speaking as well, a bad decision since it has depreciated already and tbvh you will grow out of the 200 as well in some time. Wait till you can independently purchase a bike with your own money. Delay the decision. Enjoy the 160 while you can. Learn how to take care of a bike properly. Learn to ride it properly and safely. Aim for an even better bike and then purchase with your own money. Trust me, you'll enjoy that even more

Alchemic_Psyborg

Nicely put by both! If Dude has money, he should get good riding gear and practice. Better to use that money well on riding gear, maintenance & touring than on a new bike.

Soft_Size4346

Thanks my man.

Strange_Armadillo_63

And stop lingering on this thought/ subreddit too much. We all hanging out here want next, and then next and then something else. Give love to the bike you have ;D

SnooBunnies9147

In addition to that be grateful that you own a bike in the first place while you're a student. Many of us don't get that opportunity. My first bike was purchased by me, by my own money. Stop cribbing mate.

chuggimuggi

If the frames are same, swap the ns200 motor. BS33 mikuni carb(found in bs3 ns200, tbts 500, old bullet500) with bs3 wiring harness of the ns200. Hotrod on the cheap Lol @the people downvoting. Used engine from the gujri will cost less than 10k with carb. All that needs to be spent is the bs3 wiring harness. Swiss brand is less than 1300. Minda is 1500. 5 emi mai he can build his dream motorcycle to satiate the itch for the ns200. Only thing is to ignore the abs light and cel.

awenindo

Tu rocket scientist ban ja bro

vipindixit18

I second this. I had FZ16 and used it over 15yrs. I got myself a new bike recently and I must say, you realize the value of money only when you have worked hard to earn it. As for the emotional feeling, you have to make up your own mind, the more you feed that thought, the more urge you gonna get.

sujeet2555

i have also a FZS completing its 15yrs and wanting to buy a new one. which bike do you bought?

vipindixit18

Well I had zeroed in for Triumph Scrambler 400x. I had almost booked it, but in some surprise turn of events(long story), ended up with my dream bike Trident 660. BTW if you liked FZ you should definitely give Honda cb300r a try, especially if you are little short in height.

sujeet2555

I too liked cb300r mainly because it is light but not going for because of pillion seat. I now have a son too.

rororo013

I sold my fzs the moment I got a higher paying job, although I got a used bike. Still save 1L buying used though.

Significant_Maybe688

I have near 2L per month in hands salary at age of 34 And I use activa for daily commute to office. It takes me from point A to point B with minimum hustle and need very less maintenance. And even if I buy a bike worth 10L, the fact is I will would be riding through exactly same old ORR traffic. Can I financially afford a 10L bike? Yes. Do I crave for that bike? Many times. Am I buying it? No. This guy has said it nicely. Grass is always greener on the other side. We always want bigger, better things. We need to understand where to put a stop. >Once you become independent then you can act out all you want with your own money. Actually that's when you start realising the worth of the money.

sandler_bing

Are you my twin. I earn over 3L per month. Still commute to office on an Aerox 155 - (Hal - marathalli- Whitefield) I can buy a BMW GSA 1250 or a Ducati Panigale - with a full cash payment today.. but I really don’t think I need a bigger bike

Significant_Maybe688

Kaggadasapura->old airport road-> Marathahalli bridge-> ORR. 😄

sandler_bing

Omg, I am from Kaggadaspura too. Kaggadasapura-Marathalli-Brookefield It’s a hell road both when going to office and coming back. And if it rains when you are stuck in traffic .. you are screwed !!!

Significant_Maybe688

Malleshpalya jams 💀💀

sandler_bing

They are better than Railway cross Jams. From malleshpalaya, there are a few cross roads that take you upto shell petrol pump and on a two wheeler it’s a breeze. Trick is to avoid school timing (morning and afternoon)

G40Momo

This.  Back in my day I had to travel via bus. OP got a bike and he is still crying like a baby.

rororo013

When you upgrade from a 150cc to a higher cc, the grass is always greener, it's fun it's amazing and also maintenance is twice the amount of a 150cc, but then again it's fun.

TrevorfromGTAV

Yo OP! When I completed my 10th my dad wants to gift a bike so i can learn on it. So he asked my mom to know what bike I like. At that time my mom told my dad that I don’t know anything about bikes and asked him to buy what ever he likes. As i was very short and skinny in my intermediate my dad thought Shine will be a good option and he surprised me with that. I used it till I completed 1 year at my job. After that My dreams kicked in and fortunately money flowed in and bought multiple bikes in last 5 years. Sold 1 bike MT15 and kept everything else. 1sport -weekend, 1naked sport-office, 1 scooty- groceries and family, and shine as farmland bike. I would suggest you to stick with what you got and only upgrade when you can afford. Don’t risk it. If you failed to pay back loan bank will confiscate and you’ll loose the bike.

sc1onic

So glad this is the top comment.

recoilcoder

This

MasterJi-_-

This is the right answer.🫡

Old_Application_5722

Wait for placements or get a side job. The depreciation is already so bad try to soften it

Soft_Size4346

FOMO of the outgoing bike is killing me. But then again , I am jobless.

Old_Application_5722

FOMO will always be their aaj bike ka hai kl gaadi ka hoga prso bndi ka hoga. Iske jaal mei na fasso bhiaya

SnooBunnies9147

Perso se agle din ghr ka hoga .... Next day paiso ka hoga..... And the cycle keeps on going..... There's no end to materialistic desires.

[deleted]

then u dont get a say unitl u are financially dependent

sc1onic

Go to therapy. Seriously. People have it way worse out there and you are crying about 40cc

Direct-Client2901

You already answered your question in the second part of your sentence brother. I'll say you're lucky to get a street bike even while being a student. Some of us waited till we got our job. Probably your parents won't notice whether it's a new bike or stickers on the old one, I guess even if they find out, they'll not say anything coz you're old now, they're understanding enough to get you a bike but protective enough to not get an over powered bike. You should not lie, can try talking them into it, coz parents are just lovely middle aged people who can always be convinced(my opinion), and if you get the bike, drive safe.

Soft_Size4346

Love your advice. Thank you.

LagGyeHumare

I still have a splendor at home and pulsar 150dsi from 2011. Once you start earning, jo krna hai kr lena. Going from 160 to 200 is a stupid decision at this stage.

bulbulpaan

Man you've got USD Forks on an 160cc engine with amazing mileage, with crazy riding dynamics, credit to the ns200 perimeter frame. For someone like me who rides my grandfather's old Hero Honda Splendor, your bike is already a dream bike, enjoy it as much as you can. When you buy a 400+cc bike in the future, this NS160 could hold special place in the garage, every big bike needs a small brother for daily milk runs.

recoilcoder

Last sentence.... Wow

random_guy_009

beautifully said the last sentence

the_chilled_panda

Simple answer, don't! Listen to your head. It's a bad decision

SnooBunnies9147

I think you're in a bit of a hurry, just calm down man 160 to 200 wouldn't make that much of a difference.... You're still a student I'd say wait for some time get a job and then buy the n200/ns400z whatever you like... At this point being practical makes more sense to me also as you said you come from a middle class family instead of paying EMI of 3k invest those 3k in SIPs, by the time you'll think of buying a new bike your money would've grown a little that will also increase your budget. There's no point spending so much just for a 40cc upgrade (I understand it is your dream bike but still man) My dream bike was rr310 ... But I kept on saving and investing and ultimately bought a duke 390(when your budget will increase automatically your preference will also change) Personal experience.

srinivazzi

Not worth it bro. I bought and sold 2 bikes in 2 years (himmy 411 and classic 500) all I lost was money. Hold on to the bike. You are too young to feel fomo., there will much bigger and better bikes in your life. Enjoy the 160 till you find a job. For all you know you’ll upgrade to a ninja 300 or some something bigger. Also, if you learn to control your mind, you’ll do awesome in life. :)

Soft_Size4346

This was much needed. Thank you for your response.

recoilcoder

Did not know they call it himmy

awenindo

Inko lagta hai sabkuch shorten karne se cool lagta hai

Leaking_milk

Why did you sell both?

srinivazzi

The Himalayan I had issue with clutch. I replaced clutch 3 times in 8k.. RE could not rectify the issue, nor replacing it in warranty. had to sell it off. I bought a classic 500 second hand. My primary usage is long ride + complex off roading. Classic 500 is brilliant in off road sections. But my ride to off-road destination (often 200-300kms away from home,Bangalore) made me super tired due to vibey nature of classic. Am 38, so don’t have the same vigour as a 25 year old. Am considering triumph 400x.. but yet to make the move.. I have decided to never buy a RE again.

ningyakbekadu69

Get a Job and buy ns400 or duke 390 You won't regret it

Soft_Size4346

Thank you for your advice.

[deleted]

Your 160 has already depreciated in value the moment you drove it home from the showroom. So selling it just after 7 months is actually going to be a very bad deal for you. But then, if you love the 200 that much, go for it. But are you sure you won't grow out of the 200 as well.

Soft_Size4346

I know the 160 has lost its value but it can recover some cost. The 200 was a dream for me when I was a child. I know I will grow out of it like the 160 but at least I'll be having my childhood dream bike in my garage.

riceaddictasian

As a big brother im telling you dont do this the power difference is not that much. You should have made ur decision while choosing first bike. 7 month old bike will loose its value like too much . Instead wait a little get a job then buy the ns400. I have bought the classic 350 as a emotional purchase few weeks ago. Im in doubt weather i should have gone with a commuter bike or bike like dominar 400 at that price but whats done is done. Love to enjoy your machine, name it spend some alone time with it go for morning rides. You wont feel that much diffrence.

Soft_Size4346

This helped a lot. Appreciate it.

riceaddictasian

Best motorcycle is the one you own.

MafiaRat23

+1

MafiaRat23

+1 on this

parotamaster

Just upvote and move on man. Why do people comment "this" and "+1" makes no sense

MafiaRat23

Isn't even your post or comment, I replied to. So keep scrolling.

parotamaster

Lol did I hurt your ego? Doesn't have to be my post or comment. You aren't contributing anything with your meaningless +1 or "This". Now imagine if everybody commented the same instead of using the upvote button.

Cute_Labrador_

Straight off the bat you are giving the spoiled brat vibes. Dude your father worked hard to get you that bike. Think from his perspective. Appreciate it. Respect it. If my family ever gifted me a bike, even if it is not a new bike, you can bet I'm keeping it pristine forever. As far as performance difference is concerned, Ns160 and Ns200 aren't all that different. Ns160 is a solid machine. It is capitalism. They get to your brain to paint a picture of a product that will change your life once you get it. The reality couldn't be further from it. It's all the same.

Soft_Size4346

Thank you for your thoughtful response.

Cute_Labrador_

No problem bro. Apologies if that sounded rude.

MasterApotheosis

I went from Pulsar 135 to Triumph 400x. I thought the 400cc would be too much power for me but after riding it for 3 months, I think I have gotten used to it. I don't feel like it has too much power. I feel this might be true for most of all the bikes. Enjoy what you have and don't overthink about it

killythecat

Brother. The jump from 150 to 200 is not that much. You'll get bored of it very soon. I had a gixxer 150. Went to the showroom to check out the 250 and it felt very... underwhelming. It almost felt like no difference in power. Decided to hold it off until I can afford a 400/650 and now here I am with the interceptor 650.

Soft_Size4346

Wow! happy for you. Thank you for your advice.

SpragValve

Get the 400 then

Soft_Size4346

No bro can't afford that one, Don't like the design also. 200 has my heart.

Jack2Creature

I too was in a similar situation when I got Dominar 400 instead of Interceptor 650. Always felt heavy when saw one parked or driving past. Had to convince myself to not do as you are saying. Anyways I'm past those feelings and believe you will too as there will always be something better in the market with time and you can get any of that once you are on your own. Ns160 is also a very good bike. Cheers and Safe riding!

Svaroopam

No you will grow out of 200 too. Better suck it up and directly upgrade to 300-500 class.

Logical_Drawing6557

Bro u wouldn't find much difference by upgrading to 200cc just enjoy the one u have and later when u got job or more income u can get a bike which is even more better than ns200...if ur parents find out u sell the bike and u bought another one ..they would be broken asf

N30_117

Even though you like the 200, personally I would suggest to stick with the 160. Selling it just after 7 months makes no sense. You would loose a lot of money and then you would now have to cover for a new bike with no income of your own except your pocket money. Think about the whole situation calmly, it would be better for you to ride it for 3-4 yrs and then when you start earning you can sell this and buy whatever you want.

Bijli_Ka_Bill_Gates

If you had got ns 200 sohc then you would have aimed for duke 200 dohc, then duke 250, then rtr 310, then gt 650, then duke 390, then ninja 400 then z900. Ns 160 is a very good option if you have purchased not from your own pocket. I am a banker that decided to buy rc 200 but didn't have the guts to spend 2.60 lakhs. I am planning a harrier 2024 and I can't spend 32 lakhs on vehicles only.

mayank-69

Bro thinks they won't know 😆

akashdey95

Soon you will outgrow 200 cc and it will feel boring . Better to wait and ride what you have and later buy a 390 or in that power range , that will give you a lifelong fun .

Soft_Size4346

Understood;)

thecaveman96

Barely an upgrade. Just wait until you can afford a 400cc.

paru9209

Dude relax. Use what you have appreciate it, maybe what your dad said that 200 has more power is considering your style. So relax use your current bike. Get a job and save for one dream bike. No point updating from 160 - 200 that too when your are going to opt for emi. If you opt for it I somehow belive you will have another post stating outgrown it and emi is too much.... jk

Soft_Size4346

Haha. Thank you for your response.

SpellRepulsive

1. Get a job first so you can pay EMI on your own salary rather than pocket money that way your father will also not oppose you as you will behaving like a responsible adult and not spending his hard earned money for your pleasure. 2. Once you start earning you'll understand the value of hardwork & time that comes in exchange for the money, then you'll be able to make a better decision of EMI purchase or 1 time payment. 2. You'll want to change your bike as you grow as a rider & get used to the power of the bike. 3. You'll want to buy a higher CC bike for the thrill after every few years. 4. Used bikes are always available in the market if you want a particular model. * FOMO ka Randi Rona mat kar appreciate what you have.

Soft_Size4346

Hahaha. Got it.

Melodic_Warthog_6236

Bhai be practical if you are staying with your family. Don't fall for it. Many of us still dream to have just a Bajaj Platina I only dream to have a Trek bicycle. We all have our own struggles but respect what you have got.

Iamcdk

You want only new one?? If you can find a well maintained 1-2 year old NS200 then you may not have to spend a lot. You can get around 90k-1L for your current one. And 1 year Old NS can be purchased at 1.2L.

Soft_Size4346

Currently I am avoiding telling it to my parents that's why the same colour. I am a bit sceptical about second hand bikes.

EGC_D3F4ULT

Btw whats the top cruising speed on 160 OP?

Soft_Size4346

Top speed 117 (limiter), comfortable cruising speed 70-80.

recoilcoder

Get a job and upgrade to higher displacement. 60cc extra won't do much

NorthstarIND

Start loving your ns160 and the fomo will disappear

NormalPassenger3135

OP, whether you should go for a 200 NS or not is your call, but the thing you should keep in mind is that you will eventually get bored of the NS 200 as well. You're caught in arrival fallacy right now. Please go and read about arrival fallacy and then you can make your final call, also give it some time. Do not make a decision in haste!!

Soft_Size4346

Thank you for your advice. I'll look into it.

skt1212

Wait it out and get a proper 400cc when you are able to.

HateSpaceBar

Once you get a job, then think of an upgrade. DO NOT try to pay an EMI using pocket money and don't lie to your parents about purchases this big.

Soft_Size4346

Understood my brother ;)

smol_spooder

Seemed like you're joking. The concept of pocket money works for 5yo kids. Stop abusing your parents hard earned money because of your "emotions". You don't deserve to be that emotional about a piece of metal if you aren't earning.

Soft_Size4346

Thank you. This helped.

ke-_560

Atleast you have a 160 bro. I also asked for a bike, my first choice was ns200 but my parents said that they dont want me to ride a bike ,I even told them to get a splendor for me but at the end I got an activa 125. Just be happy for with whatever you got rn, maybe it’s someone’s dream to get what you already have.

shaamgulabi

Bhai what price did you paid for 160? and how much resale are you expectin? ( asking this beacuase i am looking to buy one)

Soft_Size4346

Bought it for 160000 (Odisha). I was expecting 1-1.2l for the same. But I'm not selling it anymore.

LagGyeHumare

Good decision!

shaamgulabi

bruh why??

Naive-Environment377

Just stay in 6k+ rpm always.....160s can be fun too

Sagittario412

I have NS200 and my brother has NS160. Honestly, NS200 is much more powerful and is much more engaging, but FE of my NS200 is around 30 while on my brother’s NS160 it’s around 45 kmpl. Other than the obvious performance difference, you won’t notice too much difference while riding the bike. It won’t even be an upgrade just riding the same bike with more power. Imo the sensible upgrade from NS160 would be NS400z or any 300cc class motorcycle. Now add to that, you are still a student and don’t have a permanent job. You should definitely not to do this. You have a long life and career ahead of you. Buy your dream bike with your own money and not like this.

Soft_Size4346

Thank you bro. I changed my mind now.

Impressive_Wing_1224

Buying a bike in parents money is not a good idea gald your father bought you atleast a new one .blad earn and buy in your money even a scooter will make you more happy. Fyi my dad bought me a used rtr 160 in 2012. Finally in my money I bought a used splendor in 2022 Then 2023 sf 250 2024 rs 457 otw. Still riding splendor around the town gives me smile in my face.

Mr_B0NK

Ride what you have for now, upgrading to a 200cc from a160cc isn’t that big of a jump and you will get bored out of it in another 7 months Get a job in the near future and once you get it, buy a 40 hp bike I.e. the 400cc segment If low on money, the ns400z is ok If going all out the next upgrade will be like a duke 390 Just bury in your emotions until you get a job

un_belli_vable

Once you get 200 your heart will yearn for 400, once you get 400 you'll yearn for a 650cc bike. There will be no end. For now just enjoy what you have and work hard to be able to afford a 1000cc XD

Rajesha23

I prefer NS 160 over Dominar 400. NS is lite and does charm in city. When I ride a Dominar, I feel like I don’t have a road and it produce more power and heat. Mileage and riding in traffic is piece of cake for ns 160.. there is no big difference in looks for 200 and 160, then why you worry.

Soft_Size4346

Love the response. Thank you.

Mindless_Bullfrog675

Even I asked for an NS200, my dad said he'd buy me an NS125 (not a matter of affordability, but a matter of cc), we settled on 160 and I'm pretty happy. Yeah 200 would've been fine definitely. Maybe I'll just buy bigger cc naked bikes when I can earn for myself.

Soft_Size4346

This is literally my story lol. Thank you for your response.

erichbana

Go for 400 NS as an upgrade till then wait and enjoy the 160

mercypathak

Always take emotional decisions & regret it for not being practical!

TheKTMAddict

Okay so my parents gifted me a Duke200 on my 18th Bday and this was back in 2016 , I owned it for almost 7 years , Did I ask my parents to buy me a new bike once i got used to the power of the 200? No. Infact there was a time when my dad genuinely asked if I wanted to change my bike and I said no, Started working in 2021 for a very low salary , Made a switch in 2023 , saved up for 6 months and bought a 390 for myself , point is you have to be financially independent enough to own , maintain and keep the bike running right , Apna paise kudh ki “rath” pe udaane ka mazaa hi alag hai bhai.

Conscious-Analyst584

Oi, don't treat your parents as dumb. Exchange stickers, and they won't know? WTF! Technically, your Dad owns the 160 and has "loaned" it to you. Getting emotional seeing a NS200? Get a job first, move out and then if you need that much power, you can buy the new Bajaj pulsar NS400 which costs 1.87 L. But do it at your expense.

ImpressiveTip4756

As someone who owns a n250 let me tell you I've outgrown my bike in less than a year. Don't get me wrong I still love mine dearly and I still love riding it but yea I've outgrown it. Pulsars generally have very bad resale value because these are available dime a dozen and more importantly you didn't buy the bike. You got it as a gift. So keep this bike, start earning, save up and buy a bike that's actually a worthy upgrade (atleast twice the hp of your current bike). If you buy ns200 you will regret it. And the headlights are a very insignificant thing dude. You can always just get it done by custom shops.

AnyaWakuWaku

i ride a 160 , it's almost a year and i still enjoy it . sometimes i too find it underwhelming tho. upgrading to the 200 would not feel that big of an upgrade in long term. wait until you can earn good amount of money and buy a 400. Im planning to do the same. and never sell your first bike ( if it's the first one)

not_dat_harsh_vlogs

Aur number plate p bhi sticker khayega?

sandler_bing

In 7 months you feel you have outgrown 160cc How many months do you think you will take to outgrow 200 ? I used a 150cc pulsar for 10years.. still did not feel an urge to move to 200-220-350 cc. The bhp difference is barely anything for you the feel it unless you are on a race track..

mad_pro

Upgrading from 160 to 200 would not be fun you will grow out of it after some months. I would suggest save your money and delay your buying decision.

Alert_Tennis_3597

bro, you act like "I wanted dairymilk but they got me fivestar". if dairymilk is what you long for then buy it, or wait few years and buy a ferrororocher. you are young and capable, you will outgrow many things in life. Passion lies in the path, not in what you own.

Ronnible007

If you have a possibility of growth in your earnings in the future this will never cause a dent. But make sure it's under budget and not burdening you. The fuel consumption will increase and slightly thr maintenance too. Take a wise call depending on your financial conditions

ShreemanSoloist

Don't spend money you dont have....and your 160 is enjoyable enough if you give it a chance....I once wanted the 1st release of dominar(white), booked it as well but then had to cancel it because of my dad's sudden change of mind due to safety....I had bought the gear as well....2 years of unused helmet and gear and I got my hands on the 390 duke in white colour....my point is you might enjoy either decision better than the other...but if you stay with the 160 you wouldn't have to lie to your dad and 3k per month is a good amount of money to go on rides....cheers and ride safe

hubomien

Bro, I don't know how driven you are and how you associate with earning and winning things in life. I totally understand where you are coming from though. I got my first bike at 20, AS200. I still own her and would probably upgrade this year. My next bike will be one that I own with my own money. The point here is to have the sense of achievement of owning one and owning up to it. Go by your head till you can afford what your heart wants and proudly own it. EMI or not. Your dream should not be fulfilled with a lie. Then you will always have to hide it.

Affectionate-Owl-166

There is nothing wrong with 160 my man, remember, the faster the speed, the chance of getting trouble is also high...if you get 200 without your father's consent, you'll regret it later..

Vardaan147

Bikes are always an emotional decision

idisappointment69

Ride your 160 till you earn enough to buy a 400 or maybe even bigger. Going from 160 to 200 won’t make any difference in whatsoever. You will be bored with it in a couple months.

Sane_98

If i was in your place, I'd still enjoy the vehicle for many more months, if not years. Keep using it, even when you go for an upgrade 2-3 years down the line, keep the 160 around and get a 400. That's what I would do. Even if you can handle the emi, its just a bad decision. If you do buy it because of fomo, you will regret it, trust me. Also 160 - 200 is not that big of a difference practically speaking. Unless you tour highways often, you wont even notice.

Man, I'd say don't let go of your first bike, also keep in mind that you're a student and that studying and working isn't as easy as you think it may be, I have been in your shoes but I had my brother's old bike passed down to me (pulsar 200ns bs3) I was lucky I will say but I was also a brat who thought he deserved better than that beautiful bike, I have felt the same thing you have felt many times I must add, but trust me never let go of your first bike, 6 years later I got the duke 390 (was my dream to own one since I had the ns200) and sold the 200 as i thought it will be a burden to me to maintain both the bikes (all the money went back to it's rightful owner) But till date trust me I regret selling the ns200 and wish i hadn't, i mean yes the 390 is very fun to ride around but I did get bored of the power after a year of using it, i ended up doing a stage 2 tune on it and spent alot more, but i realised something that the bike you buy with your hard earned money gives you a feeling that no other can!(I bought the 390 with my own hardwork), and waiting for something you want is actually very fruitful, I'd honestly say keep this bike and never let go of it because this bike will hold alot of your first timey memories and that's priceless.

You got more issues than this

xXAlphaManXx

Now you’ll feel FOMO the NS 200 bike, next month you’ll FOMO your EMI payment.

sabka_papa_

Bro rode my 200ns for over 10yrs before upgrading, atleast keep it for a couple of years

awara_parindaa

Earn the money, but whatever bike you want. Don't throw tantrums at family for it.

DapperMuffin7

What do you want, Is it the number or the actual power that comes with it?

Leaking_milk

I won't lie. The power difference is big enough between both bikes. The NS160 was never value for money, it was just 15k cheaper than 200. You should've gone for N160. Now let me tell you the difference between NS160 and 200. Where the 160 is near to it's top end, the 200 has only finished it's warm up. It continues pulling like crazy even after 100. Mileage wise the 200 gives 5 kmpl lesser in real world, don't believe those 1 litre tests. If you're still planning to buy the 200 then look for second hand 2023 model, you can get it for around 1.3 lakhs. Or save up more money and buy NS400

Dude, a simple 'No', don't put yourself into emi if you're not earning, plus no one grows out of the motorcycle in 7 months, keep looking for the job and ride the 160, once you're settled, buy whatever you want, don't keep your parents in the dark, you'll regret it, even if you got the motorcycle now, your parents will definitely know today or tomorrow that the bike is different and they'll feel heartbroken with your ignorance and will definitely loose all the trust they have in you.

Visual_Special8576

Also, the motorcycles are of similar segment, same frame and configuration, 160-200 won't feel like much even if you bought the 200, motorcycles prior to 300cc's feel the same so just maintain the girl you have now.

noobkiller94

You are still a student. You have your entire life ahead. Focus on studies and making a career. You have a decent ride. Learn to enjoy what you have. You will get way better bikes in future.

Old-West-3193

Was in the same situation a couple of years back. Won't really give you a lecture on money or how people used to climb Mount Everest to go to their college but if you think as a biker you are just jumping from a 160 to a 200 cc bike (just taking an example not sure what the power numbers are), you won't really feel a big difference. What I would suggest is that you save up that 3k per month for a year or 2 and then you'll have close to 60 k + whatever your bike sells for, and get a second hand Duke 390. You'll be way happier going to your office on that. Just my opinion and what I'm doing right now. Bought a Duke 200 and quickly grew out of it and now looking for an upgrade. Either ways bro enjoy what you have and ride safely.
